I am delighted to have stumbled upon this wonderful middle-grade portal fantasy! Three adopted siblings who coincidentally share the same birthday, despite not being blood related to one another, have latent magical powers awaken on their twelfth birthdays. This awakening signals envoys from the magical realm to come retrieve these young magic wielders, though some wish to use them for their own nefarious purposes… An edge of your seat adventure then ensues!
What I truly appreciated about this novel was the level of characterization. So many middle-grade novels (in my opinion) fail to give each character a voice, relying more heavily on the story’s arc to carry readers to “The End”. This book had an exciting storu, but fleshed out the main characters and their individual voices to boot. Making me unable to put it down.
Fans of Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and anyone who habitually checks the backs of wardrobes for portals to Narnia will delight in this portal-fantasy page-turner.

This was such a fun read. I always love a good fantasy book with wonderful adventures and the Mirror Drifters is definitely one of them. Its a wonderful magical book full of adventure, magic, and mystery perfect to keep young readers into the story. Each character is relatable and each have their own strength and weaknesses which make them feel real. Definitely a must-read!
