This book started off good but it was too insta-lovey (more like insta-lusty) for me. Considering this is a series, Lei and Monique deserved more build-up and development in this first installment. I will say, some of the scenes in here has me cackling, and I don't think the author was trying to be funny, but the way they were written was so unserious. At points I felt like this was a dark comedy.

I’m a huge fan of Ms.K.W, I love all her books, especially the “Lion & the Mouse” series and all that was associated with it. I think she’s an amazing writer who brings her characters to life, to give you that in the moment feeling. I love how this started out, the plot twists, the passion is building up to something spectacular. I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds for them.

Crazy
This was a good start to Lei's storyline. He is very much crazy but charming at the same time already possessive of Monique. All the characters are breathtaking and on point, especially Duck. I wonder what's his story.

FINALLY!!! Been waiting a long time
Dima was such a great book! I had been waiting and hoping the rest of the series for several years...so glad it was worth the wait! Loved Lei’s story. He was so mysterious in Dima. We are now getting to know him and I’m loving him and Monique. The heartache, their individual back stories, chance/fateful meeting and sweet vulnerable parts of Lei and Monique that we are getting to know is what makes a great romance. But the mysteries, plot twists, betrayal and steamy chemistry of the two strangers is what has you sucked in for a “nothing else but read this book” day. The story is getting more interesting as it continues. This gives me the Lion and Mouse series which I luv as well. Wished we saw those pics of the characters on the cover that you showed us in the newsletter a while ago. The visuals help you to visualize and fall in love all over again with the new couple. KW is one of the top storytellers in my opinion. Love the pacing, the twists, descriptions of the characters so we can get “see” the characters we are growing to love and mysteries that are unfolding but connecting the characters and storylines. I have laughed out loud, hollered a couple times throughout this book, as well as teared up 🥹. I love all the characters we are getting to know so far, but it is just starting to heat up with betrayal on the horizon. Absolutely recommend- haven’t given a 5 star in so long…this is good!

Wow what a rollercoaster ride for Monique she woke up and learned her dad did the unthinkable and put them in danger..She’s been carrying the load of taking care of her sisters since her mom passed now this.. She’s goes off to find her dad in a Cookie Monster pajama top and meets this older chinese man he sees her distress while meditating and he gives her exactly what is needed to get out of the predicament her dad got them in . Leo likes Monique he’s see something in her.. Monique cousins are part of the Rowe street mob where she sent her sisters. Her father had a gambling problem and ended up stealing money from very bad people. Those people wanted their money back and they wanted Monique and her sisters to prostitute themselves to pay it back. Desperate, Monique went in search for her father, and ran into Leo. Leo gave her the money, a gift and requested a promise. In keeping this promise she meets Lei. Lei turns out to be a crazy mafia leader with a dead body of his lost love. Lei develops an obsession regarding Monique. I can only say Monique should have ran when she had a chance.

The way I ran to see if book 2 was available! I dropped to my Knees! March 11!? Kenyaaaaaa!!! Anyways the way I laughed, yelled, and blushed through this one here. I had high expectations for this book and it was good overall but I think it took too long to build. Lei lost the love of his life and was in mourning when his dad went ballistic because he wanted his son to end his life. Monique was basically dragged along because Leo envisioned seeing her with his son to help him heal.
I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that Mo even though exhausted from looking after her sisters, basically abandoned them for a guy. Head scratcher moment. They made it work but I think the story was too descriptive and built up the adrenaline just for what, a cliffhanger!

Monique is the oldest of four girls and one morning the neighborhood bad guy comes to collect a debt made by their dad. Monique goes looking for her dad and meets Leo, Lei's dad. Leo helps her but ask her for the favor of praying for him. While she is praying for him, Lei finds her in the church, thinking it was his dad.
After their meeting, Lei keeps Monique by his side. They are attracted to esch other and Monique is willing. However, Lei is not, he is still grieving the love he lost and sees it as a betrayal..
You must read Dima first to understand the families mentioned in this book and the heads of each family. I enjoyed this book and intentiomally waited for the complete series to be available.

Wow 🔥
I loved it all! It was so good I had to jump into the second book then come back and do a review for the first book 🙆🏽♀️ It's definitely been a journey in Paradise. Getting a direct look into the East, seeing through the Blue. Getting a deeper understanding of Lei and Leo's story. There are a lot of personalities in this book I love, all of Lee's family members are a trip lol! The writing is awesome, you already know you're dealing with Ms. Wright. A good play on may I add because she definitely does that in a spectacular way 🥰

Whew. Beautiful Vengeance ate, and left no crumbs.
The chemistry? Off the charts. That slow, simmering tension Kenya Wright builds? Had me hooked from page one. Every interaction sizzled without trying too hard.
The pacing was perfect, no drag, no filler, just straight movement and emotion. And the world-building? Whew. Rich, vivid, and bold. I felt inside the story, not just reading it. Kenya gave us danger, desire, and depth all in one.
This book reminded me why I fell in love with romance with grit. Five stars, easy. Can’t wait to read it again.

Lei’s father Leo sets things in motion that leads to them meeting and we hope fall in love
In book one we see them on the road but Lei is still in love with his dead first love, Chanel.
It will be interesting to see what book 2 lets us see as we delve into their lives

This is only the beginning…
I love this book! It had me cracking up and I related so much to the characters and their stories! Very twist ending. And I can’t wait to read the next book! The development of the character is natural and very progressive, and the blend of Cultures is amazing the one thing I struggled with was trying to figure out if the story took place in China or America or if this is mythical-like world. But I definitely love this book!

I started to read this, and it opens by saying to read Dima’s book first. I’m so glad I did. You absolutely should to understand the dynamics before diving into this wild ride and, trust me, it is WILD. This covers just the tip of Lei and Moni’s story and gosh I’m wild for more. So much happens so fast that I gobbled this book up without even realizing it. Trust me when I say you will love this (but start at the beginning!)

I loved this ! Lei is battling grief, anger and lust in a world full of rules and regulations. Monique enters his world with an open heart and mind and it was so cute to hear her honesty, about family and sex lol. Their passion felt genuine and I love the slow buildup. It ensures the story feels romantic and not like smut which I do appreciate. His dad is a piece of crap and while I know he doesn’t die for another 5 books, I can not wait for it to happen.

SO DELICIOUSLY GOOD!!!
Lawd this is one hell of a book! I haven’t felt is captivated in a while. This is right up there with the Lion and the Mouse. I’m hoping the other books drop soon because I need to know how this about to play out especially with Duck being upset. Can’t wait to read the next book! KW will remain in my top 3 !!!

I am determined NOT to get left behind with this series like I did with The Lion & The Mouse. I plan to read these books as they are released. I am now reading Book 2 and Book 3 releases next month.
This story is very, very good.

love and hate
I have a real love hate relationship with Kenya. Love her work all the time. She captivates with every page she writes and hold your attention until the very last page. Hate that sometimes my favorite series are left incomplete and then we move on to be captivated by another incomplete series. It’s exhausting but I come back every single time.

Waited so long for this book!!!
It was great reading the Vellas but when that ended I worried I wouldn't get to read the complete story! That's not the case, and I am so GREATFUL! So, I've finished book one. Nice refresher of what I have previously read. Looking forward to the continuing story.

Invested
Deep meaningful goings-on. I don't know where to start! I couldn't tell you who my favorite character is. Leo? Jo? Duck? Lei would be, but he doesn't listen all that well and, while hot as the fires of hell, reminds me of an entitled little boy. Be that as it may, I am an invested reader.

Lei is something else. He is totally off his rocker but I love how Monique centers him. I can’t wait to read more about everyone. There are a lot of interesting characters such as Moni’s sisters, Lei’s dad, Duck, Chen, the uncle blasting Tupac all the time. It’s just a lot going on but in a good way.

So fucking HOT!
This book was EVERYTHING! The emotions, the sexual tension, the storyline this book was so good! Kenya is one of my favorite authors and she did NOT disappoint. Lei was everything that I’ve been missing in books lately. I’m already on to part 2.

Entertaining

OMG! A page turner. Ms. Kenya is doing a great job of telling Lei and Monique's story. I know it's only going to get better with each book in this series. On to book two! Great author!
