At 70, Claire and Libby have found unexpectedly happy, fulfilling—though very different—lives. But all that changes in 2020 when they face profound personal challenges against the backdrop of a global pandemic. Their emotional journey, as they navigate health concerns, aging parents, family obligations, and death makes for a brief but compelling sequel to Schaefer’s first book, US, NOW & THEN. Grab a tissue and settle in for a few hours with these two Nevada girls.
Lorie has lived and worked in Northern Nevada for nearly fifty years. Her career in elementary education included many years as a teacher for the Carson City School District. She also contributed personal and political columns to Carson City’s Nevada Appeal for fifteen years. Retired now, she lives with her husband in Reno, where she volunteers as a Reading Grandma. She spends much of her time avoiding housework by reading, writing, and watching her granddaughter grow up too fast.
