Part 2 of the book 'Deeply Examined'. Ends on a cliffhanger.

Ahhhhh I need part 3 of the book ASAP. I've many unanswered questions regarding West. He's still the hot and cute obsessed stalker doctor but something is off about him (idk why I felt sus while reading his pov). This was short and less spicy than first book but still made me invested in West & Jessica's life.

Confession time: I'm a total rebel who skipped book one and dove headfirst into book two of the series. Don't @ me.

As a result, I'm still trying to figure out what's going on. It's like walking into a movie halfway through – you're just kinda... lost.

BUT, despite my confusion, I'm weirdly invested in this grumpy hero and his plethora of secrets. He's like a mysterious, brooding onion – I want to peel back the layers and figure him out!

The only problem? Book two ended with me having WAY more questions than answers. Guess I'll have to suck it up and read book three to get some closure (no going back to book one now, I'm committed to this chaos)!

If you're a fan of complex stories, grumpy heroes, and general confusion, then This series might be for you! Just, you know, start from the beginning. Don't be like me.

Part 2 only took 45 mins-1 hour to read and is only 83 pages long.

It is such an easy read and just like Part 1 there is a bit of a cliff-hanger and I was like no!! Definitely can’t wait to get my hands on Book 3.

This book is full of sexual tension between the FMC and MMC along with suspense and of course the occasional blurred line is crossed.

LOVE

Now that we are more established with West and Jessica and their new dynamic, we dive into the plot. This book is less spicey but the tension is hot.

The character build of Jessica was written amazingly; she is stronger-willed and sassy in this second installment. I loved the vulnerability Jess had shown. I felt West was more relatable in his small tells of his past trauma and mental health. The way the push and pull set me up with anticipation when West said, "f*ck it," I swooned! 

This story leaves us on a cliffhanger. I can not wait for book 3 and more of West and Jessica.

✨ Book Review: Deeply Examined 2 📖 ✨

I just finished Deeply Examined 2, the next part of Jessica & Dr. West’s story, and I have to say—this one is much more character-driven than the first! While it’s not as spicy 🌶️ as Part 1, it does a fantastic job of exploring Dr. West’s thoughts and why he chose gynecology as his specialty.

I truly enjoyed diving deeper into his motivations and emotional journey, and now I can’t wait for Part 3! 🩺💙

Omg, I need part 3!!! I’m totally invested in these characters and what is going to happen after the cliffhanger! I have so many unanswered questions and I need to know how this ends!! I really like the characters especially the dangerous streak and secrets that the MMC, Adam, has -it adds to the suspense and mystery of the story. I like Jessica (FMC) and how she is able to reach Adam even when he’s upset and angry. I like the dual POV and the narrative is easy to follow. I am so excited to read the rest of the story!

The writing was nice, I enjoyed Jessica and Adam’s interaction. This was a quick read that you can easily finish in a few hours but beware. It ends on a cliff hanger.

Adam is getting obsessive over Jessica and I’m here for it. I love myself a guy who doesn’t have any boundaries and stalks your every move to ensure you are safe. LOL 💙

The spice was like a 2/5 here. I wish there was a little more spice but I guess it makes sense with how short these books are.

This one gave a lot more character depth & growth, and you could really feel the connection between the two main characters.

I loved how the FMC made the MMC realize that the way he has been living isn't the only way to live and that love does have a place in his world.

The spice is phenomenal & there was even some suspenseful moments.

WOW!! Part II moved way faster than Part I, and it had me in a chokehold! Adam and Jessica’s different points of views in this were so much fun. Again, this is fairly short, but the bite-size of it makes it that much more fun to binge read, knowing the best on is coming soon! The dynamics in this one were more familiar and seeing Jessica in West’s world was interesting. I can’t wait to see where Lexi takes us next, and that cliffhanger? I NEED IT NOW PLEASE!

Make sure to read book 1 before starting this one! I can’t wait for book 3! I have so many unanswered questions about Adam! We got more of an insight to Adam and Jessica’s lives. I like how Jessica is able to reach Adam while he is upset and angry.

This is a novella but it is easy to follow. We have a perfect mix of emotions, suspense and chemistry all packed together!

Some questions from book 1 were answered but it definitely leaves you with even more. Can't wait to see what's in store for book 3 with Jessica and Dr. West!!

Book 2 was a little less spicy than #1. It was still filled with spice. I really liked how the two main characters grew in this story and I'm excited to see what adventures will be in book 3. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS 😍😍

I Absolutely loved this book. It is part 2 of the book but i did enjoy it and i read it super fast in just a day. Very easy to read and the spicy on it was a 10/10. The first book and this book both ended on a cliffhanger and it makes you want to read the rest I cant wait for book 3.

Jessica on the other hand has no clue who he is but somehow trusts him to move in with him because of some unforeseen circumstances (which I loved reading about). But when they attend a gala event, the bubble she is living and building life around ruptures when questions and doubts about who he is delves at her. Can she uncover his past? What would she do when she realises that she had been actively stalked??

The bubbling chemistry, their flirting, makeouts, casual dinner, daily talks and everything was AMAZING 🤩 slowly but steadily he is opening upto her. The connection between them is so palpable 🥵 on the darker side, when he started watching her through cams that were placed ALL AROUND THE HOUSE, it felt creepy and I was scared for a moment 😨 this is the extreme level of stalking I have ever read 🌚

We all like redemption arc but when the author said with no redemption I was beyond excited. I love the character being the character that was meant to be💯 Dr.west should be Dr.west. it's unique about them and we fall for them so I don't know if he change, would we still like him?? TBH he is not all bad (ofc, duh!! that's why morally gray) 😏 but a little lee way for Jessica into his life would be great 🤩 I am super excited to know how they navigate the truth and communicate in book 3 😍

Beta/ARC reading for the amazing Lexi is always such a treat. I love all her stories whether they are cute and sweet or morally grey, I just can't get enough of them.

This is book 2 in her novella series. You HAVE to read book 1 for any of this to make sense.

Adam/Dr West
In the previous book he was just obsessed with the girl he knew in high school. No emotional connection, just wanted to take control and claim her body whether she wanted him to or not (dubcon) but in book 2 when a situation puts her in danger it is like a switch flipped and he went from obsessed to down right possessive with allllll the red flags 🚩🚩🚩😏🥵 He is working his way to the point he can't come back from. He still is balancing on the line of light and dark. When he takes that leap into the dark it is going to be so perfect.



Jessica
She is a loving teacher for kids at risk. She's still timid and easily manipulated but she's getting more of a backbone. She's trying not to be the "nice" girl that everyone knows her as and try to be the type of girl Adam would want. She's attentive and understanding and fits perfectly for what Dr West needs.

I absolutely loved the moments when we get a glimpse of just how dark West can get. He's so unhinged deep down and I am so ready to see it in book 3. The k!ll list in my head has been gaining names and I need him to let go and let the darkness take over.

West is so freakin hot like I can't 🥵🥵 I love his possessive obsessed sides. I love when we see him vulnerable. And when he says fck it I about lost my mind like holy sh!t 🥵🥵

Book two was a great way of building the characters up more and seeing how West cares so much about kids that where in the same situation as him makes my heart flutter.
I loved how this book is taking us from the just a high school obsession to so much more 🚩🚩

It ends on a cliffhanger but don't worry book 3 is coming soon 😘

This is a red flag dark romance so please understand that before you go to read these!!

At the end I kept trying to turn to the next page, but the story was done. What’s in the room? What truth will Dr. West reveal? Will Jessica stay? West is truly tortured by his past, but could he ever truly give in and love? Can he become the marshmallow Jessica claims that he is? Once again, the spice between the two was spectacular. Even the moments of conversations and rejections were perfectly formulated in this read. I am really looking forward to book 3 because the suspenseful ending I just read has me impatiently waiting. Here we pick up where book one left us. With Jessica in danger and West running to her to help and protect her.
After that night in danger, West took Jessica to live with him to keep her safe. He realises that there are no limits to what he would do to protect her. But having her around is messing with him. She is getting closer and that stirs feelings within him. And he is not used to that. He tries to be detached, but clearly it's not working. But can he star to trust her with his secrets?
Jessica feels safe around West. It's strange to trust someone after so little time, but she is confortable with him and even if she is looking for a place of her own, she secretly hopes that she could stay there forever. But she wants him to open up more? How can she do it? Being his friend? Seducing him? Both?
In this part of the story we have a more emotional discovery (even with a lot of spice too), but we start understanding them a bit more. Jessica maintains her good girl and rule follower personality and West is a really morally grey man. But that only makes him more interesting, right?

In the end West decides to let her in. But what secrets will she discover? We end in a big cliffhanher and now I need book 3 to know what happens next!

When book one ended with Jessica needing Adam, it was a cliff hanger that I couldn’t wait to continue. I couldn’t believe Lexi left the book that way. Book one’s cliffhanger has nothing on book two’s cliffhanger! More questions than answers, more secrets than truths, and a spice level that is top notch.

These books are quick, easy reads, THAT YOU MUST READ IN ORDER! To get the full effect of Jessica and Adam’s relationship starting with book one is key. Lexi provides her readers with layered characters, attraction off the charts, chemistry that drips from the pages, and spice that makes you blush deep red and squirm unintentionally. I have loved getting to know this side of Lexi and her writing.

Adam and Jessica’s relationship deepens in book two, but as it progresses, Jessica starts to uncover secrets that Adam isn’t sure he’s ready to pull the curtain on all his secrets. But is he willing to lose the girl that he has started feeling for? When do secrets become too much and the girl too important?

Wow, Deeply Examined 2 was SUCH a journey! While it may not have been as spicy as the first installment (I mean, a solid 2/5 in the heat department), I have to admit, the way this book focused on the character development totally stole my heart. The deep dive into Dr. West’s thoughts, motivations, and WHY he chose gynecology as his specialty really gave me a whole new level of respect for him. I loved seeing this more vulnerable side of him—it made everything feel so real and emotional.

What I really appreciate about this book is how it wasn’t afraid to slow down and take its time exploring the characters, even though it's not a long read. It left me so invested in their personal journeys. The connection between Jessica and Dr. West is undeniable, and you can feel the tension—so even though the spice wasn’t super high, the emotional depth more than made up for it.

And the cliffhanger?! OH MY GOSH! That ending had me on the edge of my seat, and now I’m just desperate for the next book! I finished this in a day, barely able to put it down, and I can’t stop thinking about what comes next. I’m dying to see how their story unfolds. If you’re looking for a book that tugs at your heartstrings while still delivering on the tension, Deeply Examined 2 is a MUST-READ!

@authorlexidavis does it again in book 2 of Deeply Examined… it was suspenseful, steamy and addictive 👀.

In book 2, we start seeming more character development and really start to understand West better. He has so many layers and it all makes sense as you get to learn about his past and more inside his mind. He’s mysterious and you can’t help but to wonder what else he is hiding. I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about Jessica - I enjoyed how she become more assertive in book 2, but there were times where she could have acted more maturely. Her bubbly sense of humor is definitely the opposite of West but I do love how she was able to get him to lean into his more relaxed self because of that. I’m enjoying seeing how their relationship grow!

The plot is giving me major 50 Shades of Grey vibes and I’m not hating it 😏- it’s sexy and the spice is just enough and all I could think about when West talks about the locked room is the “red play room” 🤣.

Lexi, I need book 3 like yesterday!! These cliffhangers are going to be the death of me 😅. I can’t wait to see if Jessica will finally figure out who West really is 👀.

I’m finally back in the world of Jessica and Dr. West, and let me tell you—the slow burn is burning hotter than ever! The pacing in Deeply Examined Pt. 2 is just as addictive as the first book, pulling me in from the very first page. The spice, the angst, the emotional depth—Lexi Davis really knows how to keep readers hooked. If you love fast-paced, steamy romance with complex characters and a plot that will have you screaming for the next book, do yourself a favor and pick this one up ASAP. I needed Part 3 weeks ago—the wait is killing me!

Okay, listen I thought I was prepared for this book. I really did. But Deeply Examined (Part 2) completely ruined me in the best way possible. If I was obsessed with the first book, this one had me on my knees for Adam and Jessica. Their tension? Still absolutely insane. The chemistry? Illegal. And Adam? Yeah, he owns me now.

I swear, I made myself a whole cup of coffee to sip while reading, and guess what? It went cold because I was so lost in this book. The pacing is so addictive that I didn’t even blink half the time. And the spice? HOT. Like, “why is my face burning, and do I need a moment to breathe?” kind of hot.

And then. THE ENDING. That cliffhanger. I felt betrayed. I literally sat there, staring at the last page, whispering no no no, I need more I need to know what's going to happen now? I need the third part like I need air. I am not okay. Someone, please, how do I survive this wait?!

Deeply Examined book two picks up right where book one left off. Jessica is terrified that her crazy neighbor is going to break into her apartment. He is banging on her door, and she is hiding in her bathroom when she receives a call from Dr. West. He hears the noise in the background and rushes to her. After he deals with her neighbor, he demands that Jessica move in with him. He just has a couple rules - they will not sleep in the same bed and don’t go into the locked room. Dr. West tries to keep his distance from her and Jessica starts to think that he doesn’t want her there. Which is fine (but not really) because she’s looking for a job in New York. While Jessica is alone in Dr. West’s penthouse, she becomes increasingly curious about what’s behind the locked door. What could be so bad that he’s deemed the room off limits? And what will Jessica do when she finally sees what Dr. West has been hiding?

In book two we get to see a little more into Dr. West and Jessica’s past. We find out that Dr. West was bullied high school. Jessica may have been the popular cheerleader but she felt very alone. After she opens up to Dr. West, you start to see him soften up to her. We see a more possessive side to Dr. West especially when he sees someone that goes by “M” light up Jessica’s face. We also get a glimpse as to what is in the locked room. The cliffhanger we are left on isn’t as intense as it is in the first book, but it does leave you wanting more. I can’t wait to see how the story concludes in the last book!

The forced proximity, sizzling chemistry, and deepening emotional connection between Jessica and West kept me hooked. Their late-night confessions and the way Jessica slowly unravels his walls were some of my favourite moments. And let’s not forget the suspense—what’s behind that locked door?!

While I loved the tension and dark romance elements, I wanted a bit more insight into Adam’s past beyond the brooding, but the cliffhanger at the end has me desperate for Book 3! If you’re into obsessive heroes, power dynamics, and steamy suspense, this one’s for you!

Adam is grumpy and closed off. He gives off all the Christian Grey dark, mysterious past vibes. He's a well established OB/GYN and when we discover why it's like he's a real life hero. Jessica is a sweet high school teacher in one of the poorest in the city. When her drunken neighbor doesn't take a hint and comes banging on her door late at night, Adam comes to her rescue and brings her to his much nicer home.

Soon late night talks and small confessions start to blur the lines a bit. Jessica starts to feel more comfortable and misses what they had before. Adam begins to trust her a little more each day which is foreign to him.

When Adam needs Jessica's help one night, things quickly become even more confusing for them. Maybe Jessica will will get her wish finally if she doesn't regret it first.

I am enjoying Adam and Jessica's characters! Definitely love the Disney and 50 shade references. I can't wait to see how part 3 wraps up the rest of the story.

"Deeply Examined" Book 2 is a very exciting and spicy book that will keep you hooked from start to finish. It's a great mix of hot moments and interesting plot that will make you want to keep reading until the end.

In this book, we learn more about the past of the main characters, which is nice because it finally gives us some answers to the questions we had.

This book is very spicy, so be prepared! There are a lot of hot moments that will make you blush. But it's not just about the spice - the story is also very interesting and will keep you guessing. Make sure to read the warnings before starting, just so you know what to expect.

The cliffhanger is not as strong as the first book, but you'll still want to read more. I'm already waiting for the next book to come out! If you like romantic and exciting books, you'll love "Deeply Examined" Book 2. It's a great read that will keep you entertained for hours.

Another page turning spicy romance by the amazing Lexi Davis 🖤 This is part 2 of Deeply Examined and is another novella. Just like part 1, it's packed full of steamy scenes, great banter, and suspense. West and Jessica are complete opposites, with West being fiercely protective, brooding, and closed off full of secrets and Jessica being bubbly, kind hearted, and open. Despite their differences, the further their relationship evolves and grows, the more they mesh and complement each other. I've been loving getting to know both of them and watching as they both have begun to open up in this part, specially West. I'm already wishing that I could dive into part 3, especially with how part 2 ends. Another cliffhanger!! I devoured this one and will be counting down the days until part 3 is here. If you're into steamy spicy romance, romantic suspense, forbidden love, he falls first, morally grey/red flag mmc, among many other wonderful things and tropes, give this series and go and dive in with me! 🖤
