No Return to Eden

"Every chapter pulls you deeper into the story with emotion, beautifully written characters, and a plot that keeps your heart racing."-Alicia N.
The Brotherhood.

It’s all about how tough you are. How smart you are. Loyalty is a virtue around here in this secret society. And if you’re not tough enough, then you’ll be eliminated during Reaping. Obey your direct orders, do your job, respect your superiors, they say.

“Just hunt the damn monsters and get paid. Don’t question the superiors.” I was always told.

I wanted to live a quiet life away from the pressures of the supernatural world, so I ran. From my past, my best friend, from everything. But the daughter of the King doesn’t get the quiet life. I, Jenna Elms, do not get a single moment of peace. Dawson Kade, my ex-best friend, made sure of that when he took me back to the Brotherhood and arrested me.

It’s the “hey the end of the world is coming and you need to find the sword of Michael, the four horsemen are coming, find the the White Horse,” type of life for me. Am I tough enough for that? Am I made for that? I don’t think so.

My father often talks about wanting to go back to the days of Eden, when times were perfect.

Eden was a garden of plenty. A paradise for all who entered, something the world often strives to go back to, but there’s something inside me that says there’s no going back to that. Not anymore. Manipulation and control want the dam of this earth to rupture. I fear there's a crack in this dam, and mine and Dawson's problems are only just beginning.

This world is crashing and burning. There’s no return to Eden.

First off, the amount of times a sentence started with “I did this” and “I did that”. It was ridiculous.

This whole book is filled with misogyny. I’m so tired of it. The FC gets ogled, and yelled at, because she’s a woman. It’s so in your face that it’s cringy. Gemma got a promotion? It’s because she used her womanly ways to get it. She got out of a situation? She must’ve slept with the guy to get it. Everyone calls her derogatory names like princess and sweet thing and baby doll. All the girls hate her because we are suppose to see other women as opposition to get their man. All the guys either want to sleep with her or call her a slut. It’s so stupid.

How did this get an almost 4.8 star rating??? Scenes skipped hours or days with no explanation probably because the author didn’t know how to write it lmao

As of this day I AM THE ONLY ONE STAR REVIEW. HOW!???

Edit. Ah I see. They are all ARC reviews. Seriously irritates me that people give blanket 5 stars for receiving a free book. I just don’t get it.

Oh god it’s a shower scene and what happens in a high school romance with shower scenes. Go on guess. This had to be written by AI. Had to.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! I was warned that this book was going to be a slow burner and in the beginning it kind of was. I am one of those people that if something crazy doesn’t happen on the first page I have to use willpower to make myself push through and boy am I glad I did because once it started to pick up it really picked up!! I am so ready for the next book like yesterday! 🥰

Definitely a page turner

I went into this blindly and I'm so glad I did. This story is the perfect blend of friends-enemies-lovers, excitement and adventure. I can't wait for the next one!

No Return to Eden is one of those rare books that grabs you from the first page and does not let go. I truly have not been able to put it down. Every chapter pulls you in deeper. I felt every twist, every heartache, and every moment of strength. This book is a masterpiece, I cannot wait to read more from this author and series!

I enjoyed the book but there were some times throughout the story I felt like the topic didn’t transition as well as it should have. For example: suddenly on a hunt then suddenly doing something totally different. Also, I’m a huge fan of the Supernatural series but I also felt like some characters were too closely matching from the show in the book, like Arael reminded me of Castiel (even down to the fact he’s an angel) and Hank reminded me of Bobby and I guess I had wished they would have had more unique personalities so it didn’t seem so closely related to those from the show. Also, I wasn’t a huge fan of the brotherhood constantly stalking Dawson and Jenna towards the end. The part with Mitch and Kayla in the beginning was fine but then after the Reaping part I felt like they couldn’t catch a break and seemed like a lot.
I did, however, love the slow burn/almost love-hate chemistry between Dawson and Jenna. Really loved the protagonists.

ARC REVIEW

This book successfully captures the fun, monster-centric action that fans of 'The Mortal Instruments' enjoy, particularly in its vampire and werewolf encounters. The author bravely tackles apocalyptic themes, incorporating elements like the White Horse and the Mark of the Beast.
While cleverly veiled for the uninitiated, these elements will likely irritate those familiar with biblical eschatology due to their loose interpretation. The narrative suffers from slightly choppy transitions and predictable twists. With more refined prose and a tighter grip on pacing, this could have been more than mixed-bag experience and a truly elevating read.

Jenna 17 is the mfc i believe she does age up as the story progresses. ( yes to 27)

Her father/king is part of the brothershood as knights.

Dawsons father is king Aaron.

The king thinks the angels have deceived him and believes lucifer is the true new ruler wanting to give him archangel sword .

Lucifer is currently locked under the ocean in a prison.

Warned by an angel of an impending apocalypse.

I feel like there's impending romance.

I feel like there will be 3 more books cant say why, read it and find out!

Okay dear friend, Mrs. Author, you knew this genre wasn’t my thing but I promised to read it just because I love you!! I am blown away! Not only am I ready for the next one like now, but I am so surprised that I got so consumed in a fantasy book so quickly! Maybe it was the badass, female lead or the stance of standing up to an abusive male figure but I was hooked! Not only do I want to be besties with Jenna, I want to meet a man like Dawson! I will be recommending this book to all who will be listening! Bravo!!!

This book was a good quick read! I loved the characters and their personalities would loved to have a little bit more of their story in the next book. The book was a little difficult to follow sometimes and ended abruptly. Looking forward to the next book to follow the characters and how they progress together!

This book is soo good! Getting into it was really hard for me but once I was a couple hundred pages I couldn’t put it down, the ending was very abrupt hoping it doesn’t feel so abrupt with another book.

I was sent a copy of this book early as an arc reader for my honest review.

I've devoured many books in this genre, and I can say this is the first book I have read that combines biblical apocalyptic stories and the supernatural. I absolutely loved it and can't wait for more.

No Return to Eden I have me some Supernatural vibes, which was a fun change from the books I normally read. Set in modern time all over the US, Dawson and Jenna are trying to find the Sword of Michael and the wielder and archangel for the sword, all while trying to avoid her father, King John Elms, and the rest of the Brotherhood’s watchful eye.

At times it felt like the book jumped around quite a bit and it was difficult to follow sometimes. The ending felt a bit abrupt, though I’m very curious how the next book will play out. I definitely enjoyed reading this book!

I received an ARC from the author for my honest review.

I was given the amazing opportunity to receive a free ARC copy of this book for my honest review.

First things first, the supernatural vibes are GIVING!! I love that the beginning of the apocalypse is happening real time throughout the book! The character archetypes complement each other very well and the character development is very well paced throughout the storyline. The character banter is BANTERINGGG!!!

The FMC and MMC’s relationship throughout the book is so wonderfully crafted. As the reader, it is very easy to relate to the emotions from all of the characters met throughout the book. My favorite type of FMC is a sassy, badass, you don’t own me type of character and that epitomizes the FMC in this book, Jenna Elms. There are so many favorite quotes from Jenna that I will be using in real life!

Overall, this story is a seat gripping, emotionally compelling, did not want to put down and I highly recommend!! I can’t wait to see what lies next for Jenna!!!
