Rate this book
This second edition contains an additional 150 pages of analysis of China's intelligence operations. It is the most detailed work ever published in the unclassified world on China's intelligence tradecraft. It is NOT a casual description of a few cases of Chinese espionage with pictures thrown in for intrigue and excitement. This work is a critical analysis of China's current intelligence activities and associated espionage tradecraft. It reviews and analyzes 855 cases of espionage, economic espionage, covert action, theft of technology and trade secrets.

Incredibly researched “Chinese Espionage, Operations and Tactics” by Nicholas EftImiades is a superb espionage tutorial and encyclopedia on the how, where, and why China conducts their comprehensive intelligence collection, operations, and espionage. This is a must read for so many, but for sure intelligence analysts, corporate security directors, members of Congress, local officials, and business school students. Awareness is the first step in mitigation. - Hon. William Evanina, former Director, National Counterintelligence and Security Center and 24-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

America continues to suffer from a dangerous epidemic of PRC espionage, which Nick brilliantly illuminates in all its pervasive forms. CCP spying is part of a multi-decade economic warfare approach reflecting China's mercantile, zero-sum fervor to attain global technology supremacy. This book calls for greater action to confront enemies within before they permanently shift the balance of power away from the U.S. and toward the CCP. - Rear Admiral (retired) Mike Studeman, author of Might of the Forging Leaders of Iron Integrity

The study identifies and analyzes the specific espionage tradecraft used by China's intelligence services, State Owned Enterprises, universities, private companies, and individuals. It identifies collection requirements, operational tradecraft methods, Operations Security practices, individual motivations, and organizations. This work is for Insider Threat specialists, Intelligence Officers, security professionals, attorneys, policy makers, journalists, and anyone else who needs a detailed understanding of China's espionage operations and tactics.

A good white paper covering the analysis of over 500 espionage cases which provide insight into the magnitude of the CCP's efforts to gather intelligence from the rest of the globe. Included are a summary of the types of espionage being carried out, how they are conducted and how Chinese espionage has been improving over the last several years. This should be a must read for everyone in business leadership, and all employees working in IT across the US.
