The frozen world of Asarus, a critical lifeline for the colonies, is under siege by an icy demonic horde unlike anything humanity has faced. The Hellmarine and his squad are sent in to contain the chaos, but this time, the stakes are personal. As memories of a forgotten past claw their way to the surface, the unstoppable juggernaut finds himself haunted by more than just demons.
With the Overmaiden orchestrating from the skies, Seraphiel watching his back, and a mysterious face from his old life stirring questions he’s not ready to answer, the Hellmarine must carve his way through legions of profane ice monsters to stop a Voivode powerful enough to warp reality itself.
But this isn’t just war anymore—it’s survival. The cold burns, the ice corrupts, and the Hellmarine’s unyielding rage might not be enough to save Asarus... or himself.
And that's only the opening chapters.
Hellmarine 2: Neck Deep in Demon Blood takes the carnage and chaos to the next level with more action, more lore, and more Hellmarine fury. The fight for humanity’s future has never been deadlier—or more personal.
This book expands on the first in my ways, the Hellmarine is finally becoming a person and some things are being answered. My only complaint about this series and many other space opera type books is that there is just so much going on it's really hard to keep track and It forces me to skim parts because it's confusing. It sucks because even though it's confusing, it's all well written. I can't tell you how many times I got confused with just all the different types of energy they constantly talk about, and that's only one thing. It's ok because I got through it, and unfortunately, there's no good way around it in these types of books. I just need a palette cleanser book after this haha
I really liked this book! The rampaging continues through various places like the first book, but the Hellmarine just gets more capable in this one. The characters grow well throughout the story, both individually and together as a team. Having all of the side support characters makes the story more interactive and the authors used those opportunities well in letting those support characters get their time as well. Speaking of, the Hellmarine gets a surprise teammate later on that was an interesting twist. The whole plot/story was interesting and well planned out in my opinion. I recommend giving this a read and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
A fantastic science fiction and fantasy adventure to be found in any mixed genre!!!! An absolute blast to read with every new page!!! A wonderful mix of magic and true hard science fiction with a great mix of slice of life to tantalize any readers!!!!
As I like to say, the action was on point. I like the introduction of the dark Marin. It brought a little trauma some chaos. All in all a good book looking forward to the next.
Good story so far and I'm eagerly waiting for the next book! The characters are all developing and becoming more realistic. Seeing human nature in action while being full of action keeps me reading more!
