The cover was one of the first things that caught my eye about HERE IN MY HEART. Although I had not previously heard of the author, once I read the book blurb, I thought, this sounds like a nice Sunday afternoon read. Turns out, it was.
HERE IN MY HEART had the usual small town characters and love gone wrong, and it was all very well written. But, what left an impression on me was the small town in which the story takes place. The author writes of a small town where everyone knows everyone else, where people still live at a slower pace and care about one another. They show up at the hospital when you are sick, they support their local kids, and they still find enjoyment in watching young love blossom and grow. It is a place where families know the name of their waitress and the waitress knows the family and service with a welcoming smile is the norm. It about a town who doesn't forget about one of their own when she is moved to a hospice house in another town.
While I loved the storyline of young love, it was the town's people I most enjoyed reading about. I am giving HERE IN MY HEART five stars. The book was well-written and had a wonderful storyline about love and trust; definitely one to add to your to be read pile.
What a delightful and emotionally charged romance. I loved the characters and the plot. A great introduction to this great family. I look forward to the next one in this series. Happy ☺reading 📚!
Another wonderful must read contemporary romantic fiction by the talented Ms. DeStefano, who never fails to deliver an awesome feel-good read! ... Great details & descriptions of a small town setting with caring and sometimes nosy friends & families, who are always there for each other! ... There are lovable characters, some more frustrating than others, a sweet story-line with some great life lessons to pull from and a few different plots happening that keeps the reader engaged :) ... Yep, there are some usual misunderstandings, ups & downs and a sad death of a beloved elderly matriarch, but it kept the pages turning! ... I love it when second chances finally work out giving me the HEA I am always wanting ;) ... I won this ebook & was asked to give an honest review :) ... Well, I honestly can't wait for Oliver's story, the next book in this series :D
This is a good addition to the Mimosa Lane series -- although it only touches on some of the people in the earlier books and sets up the next series. Dru is a grown-up former foster child, Brad was always around as he was friends with her older 'brothers'. Due to a large misunderstanding he left town and has been living and working as a cop in Savannah, but keeping tabs on Dru via his grandmother. He comes back when said grandmother is dying, reconnects with Dru, they work through their misunderstanding and all is well.
The story touches on many issues --foster children, internet predators, bullying -- and introduces a group of new people, as well as marginally mentioning those from the Mimosa Lane series. It also shows the goodness of a small town as the townspeople rally around Dru, Brad, Lisa, and Vi (the grandmother) when they're needed.
Dru Hampton has a pattern, when Brad Douglas comes to town, avoid, avoid, and avoid. Years ago she had been seen a future with Brad, problem was he didn't feel the same and left. Now he is back and his Grandmother has made a rule to her will, co-habitate in order to keep two things both don't want to see go. Dru and Brad square off but as they once again grow close, Dru questions if she can give her heart to Brad again.
Entertaining story. I liked the chemistry between Brad and Dru. Brad is charming and has a swagger that makes him irresistible. If your looking for a fun read to curl up too, this is one to pickup. Look forward to reading more in the Echoes of the Heart series.
Here in my Heart by Anna DeStefano is a 2014 Montlake Romance publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is charming small town contemporary romance brings two people back together after years of misunderstandings and avoidance of one another. When Brad's grandmother, Vivian, becomes gravely ill he must return home to deal with the end of life decisions and the stunning revelation that Viv has added an interesting codicil to her will. Now the girl Brad hurt all those years ago, Dru, will have to live and work with him up close and personal or everything she has worked so hard to achieve will be sold off. It was outrageous! Dru couldn't believe it. But, for Vivian the town and the kids Dru works with she goes along with it.
Brad made a youthful mistake that had far reaching consequences. Dru's brother blew his changes to stay at Viv's and Dru's heart was broken to pieces. Brad's actions caused him to distance himself from Dru and so he only visited his grandmother on special occasions and took great pains to stay away from Dru. Now he sees the chance to finally work things out between them, hopefully giving them the peace they need to completely move forward with their lives , with or without each other.
Although the story is novella length it doesn't stunt the character growth or have a rushed feeling like many shorter stories do at times. ( I think this is a beginning of a new series introduction) It was an emotional story due to Vivian's declining health and it was sad that Dru spent years not knowing how much people loved her.
Besides that, I love small town settings, meddling grandmothers, forgiveness, second chances and true love. This is wonderful book to curl up anytime . 4 stars
In Anna De Stefano's novella spinoff from her Mimosa Lane contemporary romance series, we return to the small community of Chandlerville, Georgia. For Dru Hampton, she ran the radKIDS program and worked at the Dream Whip restaurant. She was a strong role model for her younger adoptive sister Lisa with the Dixon family. But she had issues of her own, when she was reunited with her former childhood sweetheart, Officer Brad Douglas. They were separated seven years ago and now come together again, when Brad's 91-year-old grandmother, Vivian, was dying for cancer. For Dru and Brad, they needed to work through their issues and proclaim their love for each other. For Lisa, she just wanted to fit in and be loved by everyone, when she ventured into online chat rooms and the dangers from there. If you have fallen in love with the Mimosa Lane series, you'll fall in love with Here in My Heart as well.
Anna DeStefano tells such wonderful stories and I always look forward to reading her books. She has such a fresh perspective! As with many books this one deals with a crush that Dru Hampton had on Brad Douglas. It ended badly because of a problem with one of Dru's foster brother's and his girlfriend. Brad moved away and whenever he visits his grandmother, Vivian, Dru keeps him at arms length. Dru eventually takes a job in a restaurant that Vivian owns and becomes a part of Vivian's family. Then Vivian becomes ill and issues an ultimatum to both Dru and Brad. The difference in this book is that Dru was a foster child, who was taken in by a couple who over the years raised a number of foster children, all who became like their own children. A secondary story within this story deals with a young foster sister of Dru's. (I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review)
I did not care for this book at all. I found it uninteresting and tend not to care for story lines which include what I consider betrayal. Brad betrayed Dru in the worst way possible and then left town causing unrepairable heartache to them both, affecting their lives from that moment on. It was certainly not a feel good book and there was a real lack of groveling on the part of Brad.
I would not recommend this book, especially if you are negatively affected by having the man you love turn you down and sleep with another gal the same night...because he was drunk and trying to forget her. Sickening! That literally makes me sick to my stomach.
When I'm in the mood for something that challenges my emotions with the story of two hurting people that really make the romance a hard fought for thing, Anna DeStefano's books are some of the ones I grab for. Seriously people. They are not for the faint of heart when it comes to tough romance and broken characters because these characters will get you mumbling irritating words, crying for their circumstances and just begging them to do what they have to do for their own slice of happiness. Well now that I've thoroughly frightened you away...
This is the first book in a new series, but its set in the Seasons of the Heart world right there in Chandler, GA. The community, the supporting characters and the backstory all carry over. It is truly a new series and the reader can start with this book, but personally, I'm glad I had read the books from the other series first.
The story opens when Brad Douglas, the prodigal Chandler son, is called back to his Grandmother Vi's deathbed and to fulfill her dying wish. Her wish is something that has been long past due and he is determined to fulfill it. Too bad it takes two for this to happen.
Dru has made a good life for herself in Chandler. She grew up the foster child of the Dixons, wonderful parents and supporters, and now due to the generous trust of Vivian Douglas she has a home with the older crotchety woman and the woman's family legacy, her diner. All the contentedness and happiness are now in danger of disappearing forever because Vi is dying and Vi has instructed Dru to call back the very man she has been avoiding for seven long years. She threw her wide-open teenage vulnerable heart at him when she flung herself into his arms for a kiss before he pushed her away, got drunk, slept with her foster brother's girlfriend which was the impetus for Oliver to leave and then he left town- or at least that's how she wants to see it because it allows her to hold onto her hate and anger which are much safer feelings than the ones buried just a little deeper that are also true.
Vi's request requires Brad and Dru to live in the old house and work the diner together for the few remaining days before Vivian dies then they will split the home and diner as their inheritance. Brad has made a good life for himself in Savannah and he will go back there when its over just to give Dru the space she feels she needs. He never wanted to hurt her and he hates the way she thinks of him, but he knows that with her some mistakes he'll never stop paying for. But just once, he would like her to stop pretending he doesn't exist and acknowledge him. He would like her to actually listen to his explanation. Too bad she is so hung up on her fears and trust issues that she can't.
Alrighty then, this was another difficult one of course and thank gravy and biscuits it was a novella-length. I couldn't have stuck it out if it had been much longer because the heroine pushed me over the line of patience with her hang-ups that caused her behavior toward the hero. I just couldn't connect with her. If she had gone through some hellacious childhood and broken relationships alone with nobody to support her then yeah, Dru would make sense to me. But other than starting in foster care (with a wonderful family that claimed her as their own), her life was pretty good so I just couldn't excuse her. She tried to make Brad's one- yes folks ONE and not the several she felt she could tic off her fingertips- teenage mistake the problem and treat him like a villain for years (which did not set well with me b/c the poor guy took to heart her wrongful blame and added some of his own), but it is really her buried fears and lack of trust that are the big trouble. I wanted to like her because outside the Brad issue she was compassionate, loving, and loyal but that only lasted so long in the face of her constant running away both physically and emotionally. Denial world seemed to really work well for her and she was happy there so I wasn't more than mildly vested in the romance other than wanting Brad to have what he worked so hard for with Dru.
I haven't said much about Brad, but he was worth putting up with Dru. His is definitely a prodigal son story. He screwed up all in one night in his late teens and it affected Dru, his bestfriend, Oliver and Oliver's girlfriend, Selene as well as disappointing the grandmother that reared him. She firmly gave him a wake up call and he took the push out of the nest to go away and turn his life around. He does this and only has the unresolved situation with Dru left to fully put the past to rest, but Dru won't let him. I loved watching him put himself on the line time and again to fix things with her. I loved that he was willing to do it in front of the whole community so his sincerity wouldn't be in question- not that she still didn't question it. He loved his grandmother and Dru so deeply so yeah, Brad's a keeper.
And Vivian wasn't a main character in the sense that she had narration parts, but this colorful, gracious scene-stealer was there- scheming and guiding Dru and Brad even in her last moments: "My dear," she said, "the secret to gambling on people is not to worry if you're right, or what will happen if you're wrong. It's to go all in, no matter what happens. Figure out what you think. What you want. Then go for broke as often as you can." Loc. 65% Vivian Douglas, here in My Heart
The side story involving the young foster child, Lisa, was totally heartwarming too. It is always neat the way the author deftly writes portion of the narration for the kids' points of view and even tells the adult's story through the kid's eyes like Lisa watching her older foster sister, Dru with Brad.
Oh, and may I say that the Dixons are my heroes, angels without wings. This couple are recurring minor characters from the other series and they are just the most giving, selfless, compassionate people the way they parent and support their foster kids. They love what most see as the unlovable and have faith in them long after most would give up. I loved the scene with Mr. Dixon and Dru when he was trying to help her get past her fears: "It's going to be okay," Joe promised. "think about now, Dru, not the past. Think about tomorrow. Be sure of what you want before you throw away something you'll never get back." Loc. 44% Joe, Here in My Heart
To sum up, the heroine was a source of exasperation for me, but the rest of the story and where it seems to be going as a series is an exciting promise. I would recommend this to Contemporary Romance and Women's Fiction fans, but again, only if you're into a story that isn't easy in the road to happiness.
My thanks to Net Galley for the opportunity to read this one in exchange for my honest review.
A special thank you to Montlake Romance and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 3.5 Stars
Here in My Heart: Anovella (Echoes of the Heart Series, #1) by Anna Destefano, a light southern read set in a small town, of forgiveness, redemption, risks, romance, and empowerment.
Dru loves her life in Chandlerville, Georgia a charming suburb northeast of Atlanta. As an infant, she had the Dixons, a loving foster family who’d gifted her with a community and friends and a world where she would gladly stay forever, to give back to the community.
Dru and Brad have a past, as Brad let down her down and his best friend. Now they are forced together to play nice. Brad lives in Savannah, GA and works with the police department, building his own life, and raised by his grandmother, Vivian, the town matriarch. She is outrageous and difficult, yet generous to a fault.
Brad was friends with Dru's brothers, and of course she was always tagging along. He was her first love with teenage baggage, making a mess of their life. Dru wants to put the past behind her and is not thrilled to see Brad back in her town. Vivian, calls him home, as she is dying and devises a plan to get these two together.
Dru owes eccentric Vivian more than she could possibly repay, as Vi had paid her to work her butt of at the Whip and backed Dru, putting so much time into their community, helping the local kids. Brad was supposed to be the villain, not her silent benefactor.
Dru is involved with radKIDS, as an instructor, an amazing program for kids and young adults, advocating for and teaching safety across the country to communities, children, and parents. Dru and Brad find themselves reconnecting with the family restaurant business, Dream Whip – no matter the odds.
She finds the life she has made for herself reshaping into something she does not recognize, when Vivian’s wishes are laid out, in her will and her demented matchmaking bender. Dru is terrified of loving and losing Brad all over and unsure if she wants to take the risk.
For a woman who had shied away from outward expressions of affection, Vi had gone all out making a careful record of how much she cared—giving them both time to grow up and figure out what comes next.
A sweet heartwarming story and fans of Sherryl Woods, Susan Mallery, Julia London, RaeAnne Thayne Debbie Macomber, and Mariah Stewartwill enjoy the small town charm and romance.
Also included, a sneak peak of Oliver and Selena’s story “Waiting for Your Love”, the first novel in Anna’s new Echoes of the Heart Series (coming spring 2015).
A native of the southeast myself, having lived in (NC, Atlanta, GA, and now south FL), Anna definitely knows the South and reflective from the stunning front cover, and throughout the pages with her background in the crisis and grief recovery areas.
Even though Dru Hampton was raised in the foster system, she lucked out. She was taken in by a loving family and has built a life to be proud of. Her biggest regret has always been Brad Douglas. Brad was her older brother’s best friend, and someone she grew up around. Even though they always treated her like one of the guys, she was head over heels for Brad. Until one night changed everything. Acting on impulse, she let him know of her feelings for him, only to have him push her away. Brad’s actions not only broke Dru’s heart, but tore apart her family and then everything changed. Not only was she broken hearted over Brad’s rejection, but her brother left town, as did Brad. After coming to terms with what had happened, she forged ahead and became someone others looked up to. Especially the kids at the YMCA where she volunteered.
However, when Dru’s benefactor, Vivian, fell ill, it was up to Dru to contact Brad to get him to come home so that Vivian could get her affairs in order. When Brad shows up, he and Dru reconnect, even if only to satisfy Vivian. But, once they hear what Vivian asks of them, Dru doesn’t know if she can see it through. Brad had broken her heart and to say she has trust issues is like saying Lake Superior is a cow pond. Even though she feels that she wouldn’t be where she is today without Vivian, she just doesn’t know if she can put herself out there with Brad again, even if he does seem to be trying to make up for his past sins. And, once Dru figures out that there were things set in motion a long time ago for her benefit, and that things weren’t quite what they seemed, she knows that her life will never be the same.
Here in my Heart is a wonderfully written story about coming to terms with one’s past in order to forge a future. Dru is a strong, albeit a little naïve, character. She is everything you’d want your daughter to be with strong character and a huge loving heart. Brad is wonderful as well. He knows he messed up when he was younger, but has steadily moved forward with his life trying to atone for his past mistakes. The secondary characters are wonderful as well, and I can’t wait to read more about them. This is my first book by Anna DeStefano, but it will not be my last. If you’re looking for a quick read with a wholesome and sweet storyline, this one is for you. I shed a few tears at the end and I can’t wait for the next installment. Well done Anna DeStefano, very well done
I received this from Netgalley to read and provide an honest review of the book. This is the story of Brad and Dru. Both have a history, from back when Brad and Dru were growing up together. Now, they have reunited because Brad’s grandmother wants them to keep her homestead and restaurant going when she passes. Brad has returned because Dru called him in Savannah where he lives to let him know his grandmother is fairly close to death, and he needed to come. This is a story filled with memories, some good and some not so good, which drive actions today. Can Dru and Brad overcome the history they have together? Will his grandmother see the couple reunited to run her restaurant and keep up her house? I loved the way the author depicted the small town of Chandlerville, where everyone knows everyone, where everyone’s business is everyone else’s, where people stick together in thick and thin—especially when the going get rough. One thing I could not do while reading is relate to the couple. I did not see or feel any real chemistry and I felt often as if I had missed something that was in another book or that had been loud and clear but not spoken. I also found the secrets they all kept, while understandable, a bit off-putting. Still, this is a great story and makes a wonderful read. I think anyone who enjoys a good book or any other of the author’s books will love it. I know I enjoyed reading it.
This is a sweet romance that will tug at your heartstrings at every turn. I'm not usually a real fan of second chance stories, when someone has pined after someone for years, in this case seven. All these teenage angsty crushes show up a bit much, but with Anna DeStefano's novella, you have two characters you really can't help but root for.
Brad is really a perfect guy, and as the story progresses, it is hard to imagine anyone hating him for any reason. He's a bad boy turned good, and he's precious and smart and what most gals want in a hero. Dru is feisty and doesn't want to trust Brad after something he did 7 years ago.
This two are at each other's throats but are forced together by the real star of the book, Brad's grandmother, Vivian, who is now on hospice, and has one last wish she wants them to fulfill. I loved Vivian. So feisty and so wonderful. You know she's going to die, but that doesn't stop you from crying when it happens, especially as there was someone that loved her but didn't let her know until it was too later.
The other star of the book is Lisa, one of the Dixon's foster children. She has ADHD and is always ending up in some form of trouble. I loved her. I just wanted to hear someone tell her that they loved her to make her feel like she wasn't going to be cast aside from yet another foster family.
There were so may wonderful characters in this short book, and all of them well developed. I can't wait for the next book in this series
I received this book as an e-ARC free from Netgalley. Below is my review.
This book may be in the middle of a series, but it stands very well alone. Dru and Brad: it's just a mess. Dru has been broken up over Brad's behavior for years. Not only did he go from her kiss to another girl's bed, his actions drove away her brother never to be seen or heard from again. Brad went on to pull himself together and make something of himself elsewhere. She stayed in town and works with children and runs his grandmother's cafe.
But all that is coming to an end because Vi, his grandmother is dying and her one request is that they work together and live at her house. Dru wants nothing to do with Brad. Brad is in love with her and willing to do anything to make her happy, except make his grandmother unhappy.
As they live and work together, Dru slowly softens toward Brad, until some secrets come out. Then all the softening is done. But, it all comes right in the end.
I liked Dru and Brad as characters and the coming of age portion of their arcs. The small town vibe and the deeply emotional discussion of fostering children add immensely to the story.
Note: This is definitely mild - read: very little to no sex and little detail.
This is a short story, I read it in less than one day. I have found that I really enjoy a good short story, if the author is able to get to me to connect to the characters in that short time I am reading. Anna DeStefano was able to not only get me to connect, but to get me to become friends with Dru and Brad and the rest of the small town they live in. I did not want the family restaurant to be sold or their house to be sold. Dru and Brad had to figure out how to reconnect and not hurt each other.
There were a few times that I found myself wondering where something was heading, but soon enough I found out and was thrilled. I loved the secondary characters, especially the kids that Dru was teaching self confidence and defense to. The fact that they were all foster children, yet they considered them all truly related made me smile.
This is a sweet and loving story that I will recommend to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.
This book takes you on Dru and Brad's journey. I loved the strong woman Dru was. She worked had, loved hard and gave back to the community. She grew up in a loving foster home and successfully managed a restaurant. She also taught young people how to empower themselves and get themselves out of bad situations through the radKids program. Still she struggled with a place to belong not knowing that she had already achieved that. Brad also struggled to find his way in the world. He became a police officer and also taught the radKid program. Dru achieved this with the help of her mentor who was Brad's Grandmother. This book is a wonderful reflection of Dru and Brad's lives and struggles to love. Not to be missed!
Super cute, super short novella from “new to me” author Anna DeStefano. My first impression was that she is a solid writer. Great storyline and some really good characters had me liking this book.
I really liked the way we are introduced to the two main leads, Dru and Brad. It was instantly known that they had a past, and there was a hope of a real fight to get their future. However, I just didn’t really connect to this couple. Maybe it was due to the length of this novella or that we kind of had a parallel with some of the younger characters. I dunno.
Steam factor ranges around a three as we don’t entirely fade to black, but do. The ending is incredibly sweet and I did find myself enjoying this read.
The book was well-written and had a wonderful storyline about love and trust. A sweet heartwarming short story. You can't help but fall in love with the town! Anna DeStefano writes of a small town where everyone knows everyone else, where people still live at a slower pace and care about one another. It is a place where families know the name of their waitress and the waitress knows the family and service with a welcoming smile is the norm. This was a GREAT beginning to what is going to be a GREAT series (Echoes of the Heart) about the people in Chandlerville. I am SO looking forward to many many more stories!
ARC provided via NetGalley by Montlake Romance in exchange for an honest review!
I have to admit that I’m partial to Anna Destefano’s work. It took a lot to get me to read a romance novel a few years ago and one of my Anna’s books was my first. I keep reading now, because her writing keeps getting better.
Sometimes there’s nothing better than a beloved grandmother who uses her last days on earth to put together two people who should have never been apart. Here in my Heart, a wonderful novella, may be the reunion story of high school sweethearts Dru and Brad getting back together. However, you cannot read this story without identifying best with the love of Brad’s grandmother, Vi. This novella will read quickly and it will touch you even quicker.
This book is so much more than a novella. I fell in love with the characters on the first page. Dru is a sweet young woman who was orphaned as a baby, Brad was raised by his grandmother. Brad was friends with Dru's brothers and Dru tagged along. Brad was Dru's first and only love. Vi, Brad's grandmother is dying and she puts together a plan to get these two together. You will laugh and you will cry while reading this book, and will be waiting for the next book. I love the way Anna describes the town of Chandlerville, makes you want to go live there. I highly recommend this book and also the Mimosa series.
This is the first Novella in the Echoes of the Heart Series but it wasn't the first time we met some of these characters. Here in my Heart is a great companion to the Mimosa Lane Series. Anna DeStefano is a brilliant story teller. She has created one of the most beautiful and magical towns out there. Where bad things sometimes happen to good families and communities ban together no matter what. This is Dru and Brad's story, it's sweet and emotional with a great cast of characters and a beautiful backdrop. You can't help but love Chandlerville and all the people who live there. I would highly recommend this Novella to anyone looking for a good book.
Here in My Heart is a wonderful way to kick off a new series. Second chance love stories are some of my favorites and I couldn't help getting caught up in Dru and Brad's story.
Vivian, Dru's boss and Brad's grandmother, has them working and living together. With the childhood sweethearts having to live and work together, there is little chance they can resist their feelings for each other.
With Here in My Heart, we get an emotion packed story filled with real life issues and relatable characters. Another winner for Anna DeStefano that has me ready for the next in the series.
I love the cover of the book. Such a heartwarming story of love and second chances. Anna DeStefano's story of a small town is very well written. It grabs you from the very beginning and will make you laugh and cry. I had a hard time putting the book down because I had to find out what would happen next. Vivian, who is dying wants her grandson Brad and her employee Dru to be back together. She know they love each other. So in her will she gives them a choice to make or loose everything. I loved every minute of this book.
Another visit to familiar characters in the Mimosa Lane series. Anna Destefano has written another great read. The main characters are reunited by a dying grandmother. They have loved each other for years but because of misunderstandings think that each are better off without the other. Anna brings elements to the story dealing with problems relevant to today. If you haven't read the Mimosa Lane series this will stand alone. But I recommend the whole series
Great read! I love these Echoes of the Heart books. Set in a small Georgia town with great characters and that small town sense of community is wonderful. This story is about Dru, the hardworking waitress at the Whip and Brad, the guy that left her seven years again. It's a heartfelt story of the two of them working through the issues and fighting to have a second chance at love. A definite must read!
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley. I really enjoyed this story. It was full oh heart. Vivian may seem abrupt but she has such a soft heart. Brad has come home after years of staying away to be with his grandmother. Dru (although I liked this book I was not a fan of hers until a little over halfway through the book). It's a story of redemption and goodbyes. Be sure to have some tissues handy.
Great introduction to a new series! The town and its people are great and I can’t wait to read the next books in the series. Dru and Brad have stayed away from each other far too long and his dying grandmother’s wish brings them back together. I loved Vivian and the way she manipulated them into finally admitting their feelings for each other. Sweet, funny and sexy – a perfect read for a relaxing afternoon.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I wasn't a fan of the heroine, but I really enjoyed the cast of secondary characters. I felt like I would have liked the hero, Brad, a little more if he hadn't been so willing to put up with the heroine's (Dru) stubbornness and lack of confidence in herself.
If you like small town romances and don't mind a plot moppet who her own (pretty great) secondary story, then I think you'll like this.
*I received a free copy of this book, but all opinions are my own.*
Do not miss out on reading this book. An exciting and heartwarming start to a series, it centers around live and love in a small town. Dru and Brad knew each other long ago and when his grandmother is dying, she brings the two back together to right the hurt between them. This book keeps you enthralled until the end.
