I was so excited for this one because cyber thrillers are my love. I love this genre in both movies and books. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, but I had high expectations this month, so it didn't turn out as great as I hoped.
The story follows Rudra, who becomes a student of one of the most brilliant professors in cybersecurity. However, he soon finds himself trapped in a series of events that lead to him being accused of a crime. Forced to flee, only one police officer believes in his innocence, but he has no proof. After five years, Rudra returns—not as a fugitive, but as the only person who can stop a global catastrophe.
The concept of enforcing a single digital currency throughout the world was fascinating and something new I've read. I absolutely loved this idea, but I feel the story could have been more developed, with deeper suspense and richer elements. At times, it felt a bit plain and lacked depth in certain areas. While the book was thrilling, its execution could have been stronger. Maybe my expectations were too high, but that's how I felt.
That said, I did enjoy every moment. The fast pace kept me engaged, and it was never boring. From the very first page, the strong beginning hooked me completely.
However, the ending felt a bit weak, and the story itself was somewhat predictable. Still, the reading experience was great, and I'd say it's definitely worth picking up. I rated it 3.75 stars. If you're a fan of cyber thrillers like me, you should definitely give this book a try—you'll love the concept!

He’s smart but he’s also haunted by his past especially the disappearance of Kristine the woman he loved. That emotional thread makes the story so much more than just a thriller. I also really enjoyed the character of Samaira a rookie digitiser who steps into the chaos with her own determination. Her growth and courage brought a refreshing balance to Rudra’s intensity. And then there’s his friendship with Jasmine which adds warmth in the middle of all the tension.

This book! I'm gonna try to write as less as possible without giving away the plot!
The story had me hooked from the very first page.
The main plot introduces us to the Professor and his student Ray, who are engaged in a secret project. Ray has moved in into a discreet location and no one knows his whereabouts except the professor which tells us the importance of the project. But soon everything falls apart just before Ray could reach the pinnacle of his success when the professor is kidnapped. This is only a small epilogue of what's to come next. Soon we get introduced to Rudra and Jasmine, two very good friends and coders working in the same facility. Both of them has ordinary but interesting lives but it changes as some new people come into their lives.
I really liked the story, an absolute page turner. The characters are very well written and are also likealble. I liked the friendship of Rudra and Jasmine and also the love story of Rudra and Kristine. The personal lives of the characters are addressed so skillfully that you'll get an idea about them while keeping thr focus on the major project. There's no unnecessary lag but there're some parte where one incident is told twice in different contexts but it feels repeated, apart from this the technical aspects of the story is refined.
I absolutely loved reading this...if you're a thriller fan, or a computer nerd, or you just love fast paced stories then this book is definitely for you.

The book has a fast paced and the story is intriguing and could be a good read for a person who loves coding and make websites for fun.
This book deals with a software which is built and designed to announce a new coins or we can say a digital currency and that can alter the course of business in world.
There is a character Professor who has the idea to create that software but due to some problem he can't , but his student cracks the code and now ready to launch the software to entire world network.
In every story there is a villain and in this, there is a friend who betrayed his friend and wants to hijack his plan to ensure he can earn from that software by enhancing it to the new level, for that he can do anything and he is now blackmailing professor to divulge the truth about software, so that he can do what he wants.
A conspiracy to hijack the work of professor has been planned and there is only one person who has inkling how to crack open the codes of professor and dismantle it but he doesn't know about what happening to professor.
The ending has a thrilling and adventurous tales which will give you goosebumps and also will excite you to know what's gonna happen next.
The author has written a well woven story and it is a page turner and story is intact and every character is justified and I loved the book.

This was another thriller I picked up when I was going through my mood slump with headaches, albeit the number of books you see on my feed lol. Sometimes I need something to shock me, maybe change my viewpoint or even just numb my surroundings, and to be in the present moment.
Well, this book didn't disappoint, I was right away hooked on it, that I couldn't stop reading, the pacing was addictive till the end that I was like I needed to read more, and to see what was going to happen.
For context, this book is about a threat to the world to change all modes of currency to 'Xander' similar to the bitcoin concept developed by Professor Stanley, which was originally introduced to bring unity, but few dark forces are planning to take over control, for their own use, what follows is a chase by characters Rudra and Samaira and many more who are reeled in to stop it, by the Professor as a last attempt before he gets killed.
Oh boy, this was such a wild ride, with interloping narratives of past and present timelines written into the plot with its pacing, were well executed by the author. The only con was, there were few gaps noticed relating to Ray, Kristin and a few characters that I wished if they would have been weaved in well, it would have packed a much bigger punch, because the ending did feel a bit flatter due to this.
Book Recommendation: Definitely, if you just need a break for some creative inspiration ;)

After reading multiple short books by Anish Jha in Hindi I recently came across hid new release - The Moonpie Project. Tight after I saw the title of it, I decided to pick it. Reason? Simple - Thriller, suspense and all the modern topics the plot was revolving into.
In the past, I have read short books by Anish Jha sir which were a read of 20-30 pages only. So now when I saw he has written a full fledged novel I wanted to see what was within those pages.
And as expected, the read was commendable. The security software, the working of digital currency, all the technology and technological terms expanding was a treat to read.
This whole book will take you through a whole different journey. The technology, its malpractice and how the protagonist unfolds the truth is a roller coaster ride filled with many twists and turns.
While writing this book the author has done a thorough research on various concepts like digital currency and its working. Also, while maintaining The seriousness of the read, the author didn't use technical words rather a language which will be easily read and understood by the beginner level readers. The narration is fast paced which makes the book more engaging.
Overall, if you are looking for something that will keep you on your toes then this is your pick!!
In the past, I have read short books by Anish Jha sir which were a read of 20-30 pages only. So now when I saw he has written a full fledged novel I wanted to see what was within those pages.
And as expected, the read was commendable. The security software, the working of digital currency, all the technology and technological terms expanding was a treat to read.
This whole book will take you through a whole different journey. The technology, its malpractice and how the protagonist unfolds the truth is a roller coaster ride filled with many twists and turns.
While writing this book the author has done a thorough research on various concepts like digital currency and its working. Also, while maintaining The seriousness of the read, the author didn't use technical words rather a language which will be easily read and understood by the beginner level readers. The narration is fast paced which makes the book more engaging.
Overall, if you are looking for something that will keep you on your toes then this is your pick!!

"The Moonpie Project" by Anish Jha is a high-octane, action-packed thriller, wherein Rudra, the protagonist and a tech wizard, goes into hiding due to being framed for the murder of two of his colleagues and breaching the data of his company Asgar Corp. Also, his revolutionary project was stolen and used in a deadly cyber attack to create a new digital currency Xander. Although he stopped the first attack with the help of Chris, a young policeman, but years later the same attack appears again, but on a larger and more destructive scale. Rudra is forced to come out of hiding, and along with Samaira, a rookie police digitiser and his junior from the same college, they must race against time to stop the attack, while Rudra simultaneously trying to confront his past. The author excels in crafting a narrative that balances technical sophistication with profound emotional resonance. The novel's pacing is relentless, with each chapter intensifying the stakes and deepening the intrigue. The novel uses a lot of imagery, which might make some readers find certain action sections dense. The novel is a riveting and timely exploration of the vulnerabilities inherent in our digitally interconnected world, and I would definitely recommend it to all techno-thriller enthusiasts.

The story takes you deep into the world of technology and cybercrime,with the story revolving around a global digital currency which has quite a few parallels to real life. The interesting concept has been executed perfectly as the plot unfolds with several twists and turns. The characters are well crafted, from Rudra to Samaira. Rudra's journey from his fall from grace to his redemption, nicely captures his inner turmoil and resourcefulness.
The narrative is fast-paced and the frequent twists keeps the readers engaged. The writing is engaging and the author has done well to keep the tech elements in the story without any jargon.
