Find the Devil: What Happened Next Book 3

Rate this book
As Becca and Milo start to come to terms with the aftermath of the Rosewood incident, the wider group begins to plan a way forward for the remaining community, whilst Tina grows more desperate to find Tom.

Battered and exhausted, Rex embarks on his quest to find John ‘The Devil’ Baites - an old friend of his father's - but he’s haunted by a surprising figure from his past, and he picks up another unexpected passenger along the way.

Chambers is the prisoner of the Sigmarauders, a seemingly gormless and unorganized college fraternity, but she soon learns that she's a key component in a daring plan.

Shaw, a senior government trouble-shooter, attempts to reassemble the Council of Eventualities for a top secret mission, but his objective is in tatters when he discovers that one of the Council has been murdered. Perhaps there’s an inventive young Rosewood resident that can take the professor’s place.

As is the norm for the series, Find the Devil continues straight on from the ending of book 2. Milo and Becca are slowly coming to terms with the events that led to the book 2 finale, but there is dissension in the ranks - some of Malcolm's followers have survived and are looking for revenge.

I thoroughly enjoy this instalment of the series. The author does not shy away from tough topics, nor does he dampen down the vivid and often gruesome descriptions of some of the more violent events in the story. I was particularly interested in the snippets of chapters we got from some new characters on the outside of the DLC, in this book we start to get an understanding of what may have gone wrong with the vaccine although it's mostly just teasers for now.

Towards the end of the book, during the 'action/excitement' there is an accidental name switch between 2 characters which took me a moment to figure out but was easy enough understand. There's also some loss of continuity but not enough that it detracted from the story in any way.

Itching to start reading book 4 now!
