Roan King is a powerful leader of the King's Cove pack, a group of wolf shifters. His days are filled with the responsibilities of ensuring the safety and prosperity of his pack and preparing to inherit the family's multi-million- dollar corporation. However, his father, the current CEO, has one condition for his Roan must find his true mate. His doubts about finding a mate change when his inner beast, usually dormant in the presence of humans, is roused by the touch of Storm Wright. The primal instinct to claim her, to protect her, is overwhelming and there isn’t anything or anyone that will keep him from what belongs to him. Storm Wright, once a talented dancer, spends her time and talent close to home. With a father whose malevolent intentions are as powerful as they are dangerous, she remains in the shadows, afraid to dance in the spotlight that could illuminate her true self. Her quiet life is irrevocably changed when Lathan, a man she considers her brother, asks for her help. Little does she know that by granting his favor, she will be thrust into a realm beyond her wildest imaginings. Enter Roan King, a commanding and enigmatic figure who sees through the veil of Storm's fear and recognizes the fiery passion within her. Together, they must face the challenges that lie ahead, battling against the forces that seek to destroy them while unraveling the mysteries of their intertwined destinies. Can Storm adapt to the life of a shifter's mate while mastering her way back into the dance world? Will Roan's love be enough to protect her from the forces that seek to manipulate or destroy her?
For a paranormal shifter book, it lacked a lot of essential details. We never even got a description of Roan’s wolf. In addition, it seemed as if the wolves in this book lacked a lot of skills and gifts that come with the shifter community. The Alpha of the pack couldn’t even communicate telepathically with the rest of the pack. Then for Roan to get tricked by the same wolf was a bit much.
The story was okay. The FMC is a damsel in distress, while MMC comes to her rescue many times. The amount of evil and unhinged people in this story is crazy. 😂 Sex scenes were okay, some of the dirty talk was cheesy to me, but some may enjoy it. There were too many PoVs. Every character didn't need one. It messed with the flow.
I wasn't particularly attached to any particular characters. The plot and the way it was laid out was convoluted and worse, I think the relationship building portions of the book suffered. It felt like too much telling, rather than showing.
Despite the whiplash of back and forth action and slow moments, it'll keep you interested in finishing the story to see how it all comes together. Always good to see Black paranormal romances. 🖤
⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️.5 This storyline is good however the way it was executed could’ve been better. The story had grammatical errors throughout and some inconsistencies that made the story hard to follow. The spice was very rushed and even had fade to black parts.
Overall I think this author has a lot of potential, she just needs an editor and a beta reader. 💖
I love wolf books and was really excited to read this ... however it was dry and the pace was slow due to so many pov some many overly detailed moments and just lacked real chemistry between the main characters. I kept hoping for a moment of zest and something but nope. I did enjoy the story concept and maybe I will try this authors other works
This was my first read by this author I surely will not be the last. This was a really good story. I was sad about everything that kept happening to Storm, but her maid took care of everything to have that kind of love and dedication is so rare I wish there was a part two
My first from you.love the way you write ,the way you use everyone connected to storm to have their say and what they are up too. Hopefully you will continue with at least another book with this and make it a series which I would definitely recommend to anyone plus myself to purchase and read.
I am not going to read this book to filth cause I gets in trouble here on Amazon. What I will say is, they were no protector. For a female to have known threats and then leave her with no security and to have your ex-lover guarding her. Like who does that? Anyways the book ended kinda weird but you will see for yourself.
This was my first book by this author. The book’s plot was good and I enjoyed it. Some of the details were off like the alphas ex’s having access to his mate, the enemies not being immediately handled, the alphas inability to secure his mate and the only revenge that was somewhat satisfying was the mom poisoning Sasha.
I try not to read much “paranormal” books, but I took a chance on this one and I’m so sad to leave it behind. I would’ve love to read more about Jade and Lathan’s story, just to keep it going.
Having a man a wolf like Roan would make any girl swoon. He was a true example of provider, lover, protector
Oh how I loved this. Every single view, every single perspective, was intricate and well thought out. I knew I would love Roan and Landen real bad and seeing how they stood behind Storm was everything. Even the parents on every end. This was very enjoyable. Recommend!
This was good. First read by this author. This couple had man obstacles but they made it through. I wanted the male mmc to go as hard as her best friend but he got it together eventually
I really liked Rosn and Storm but I loved Kade she was funny, sassy and she didn't play especially when it came to her bestie Storm. This book was well paced, believable and I got to know and relate to the characters as they built their relationships.
Captivating….. A page turner with each chapter theirs more to learn of Storm and the battles physically and mentally. With the love of her true mate they find something more Intimate and powerful they are two souls forever connected.
