wow…

I don’t know what to think about this book. Did I like it? Did it confuse me? Did I have any idea where and who and what or when? I thought it was going to go one way, then it went left. From left, it went right. How this author managed to fit all that psychological drama into 76 pages, I’ll never know. This isn’t my normal genre to pick up, but I’m kind of glad I did. For a debut story, it was pretty good. There was some editing mistakes, but they’re easy to look over. There’s some inconsistency as well, honestly though, it added to the confusion on the whole, who, what, when, where aspect.

Now to the characters: both the MMC’s are anti hero’s in their right. Yes, one is “good” and one is “bad” but you can see the struggle they both have with toeing that line on which side they should be on. Ultimately, they both give in to their base instincts/personalities and for the lack of a better term, just roll with it.

The struggle mentally and emotionally in the aftermath was really well written. Trying to live with decisions you’ve made is an exhausting thing. Especially for the fmc. I want more on what lead her down the path she chose in the middle of the story.

Is this a masterpiece of literature? No. Is this a really good crack for a first time author into psychological thriller? Absolutely. I think with some good editing and bringing on a beta reader or two and a few arc readers, future books in this series could be amazing. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more work by this author!
