This book is a very easy read, but is packed with information. I love that the author includes action steps at the end of each chapter with concise instructions as well as recipes and a meal plan. She explains the WHY behind a lot of science in an easy to understand way but it reads like a conversation with a friend. Perimenopause is definitely not talked about enough, and having an actionable guide is such a valuable resource to women.
Definitey a must-have for anyone navigating perimenopause or supporting clients through this life stage.
Love how Jennifer takes complex concepts and breaks them down into simple, understandable terms. I'm on the other side of menopause now, but sure wish I had had this book during my journey. Excellent descriptions and explanations for the whole process. Easy to relate, remember and apply the information.
4.5 Just notched down a bit from 5 stars because of typos. This is an excellent, accessible book that covers so much ground concisely! I have benefited greatly from Jennifer's plans and it's really helpful to have so much of this information in one book. Reading it kicked me back into gear—I'm back to getting up for morning sunshine and taking more walks. I recommend this to perimenopausal women everywhere for common sense, study-supported information about healthy and nourished living.
Epsom salt baths, unlimited animal protein consumption... Really? If someone praises “challenging conventional medical wisdom”, it is usually a trap. That also applies to “specialists” that treat anedoctal case studies as scientific evidences. That's exactly the case here. Some good insights, specially in the first chapters, but mainly a whole bunch of pseudoscience.
