This is book two of the SEAL Team Blackout Charlie and the team are continuing the task of following a terrorist threat to the States, with a bomb that is being smuggled into the country. Special Operative AJ Henner is selected to go undercover along with a civilian explosives expert, May Lin, who he thinks is totally unacceptable and he doesn’t want to work with her. She feels exactly the same about him, thinking him unprofessional, and tries to persuade his boss to send someone else in his place. Unfortunately, both of them will have to stick together, as his boss refuses to change his mind in making them work together, believing them to be the perfect pair to follow the bomb as it enters the US, and try to stop it before it reaches the terrorist who is orchestrating attacks in the country. All the team’s brilliant cryptologist uncovered was that a crate containing a bomb was going to be transported by military personnel to a military base. They go undercover as a power couple at a charity gala event, one where AJ’s very existence as a ‘ghost’ operative could be blown, as the gale is full of military people and someone might recognise him. He gave up his family and friends to become a ghost and is supposed to be dead! As part of team Blackout Charlie, all of the members are supposed to have no ties or romantic relationships that could be held against them as a lever. But that seems to have changed recently in their team, even though it is against the rules! The gala brings him some issues, as he is almost recognised by a family friend of May’s, who turns out to be the head of the base where the bomb is being taken to. Her father is good friends with Major General Simpson and May had always liked him and seen him often, but she can’t believe what AJ believes he is involved in. They had hoped to overhear chatter about the bomb but hear nothing useful.
The two of them have to pretend to be a married couple and that means they constantly grate on each other’s nerves, together twenty-four seven, but that also brings an attraction that they try to ignore. May knows as a ghost or a dead man walking, that he can’t have any sort of serious relationship, but it doesn’t stop them eventually falling for each other and getting it on. He wants to protect her at every step, and they end up going to the base as she does an explosives training course for the soldiers, whilst he locates the bomb crate and puts a tracker on it. As they try to track any news of the bomb’s final destination and figure out what the terrorist’s actual target might be, one of their suspects may have found out they know too much. Their suspect draws May back to the base and AJ doesn’t want her to go, believing in their suspect’s guilt whilst May still believes in his innocence. It is getting harder to believe in and May will soon find herself having to recognise the danger when it meets h er head on! AJ is left distraught when she disappears and he also finds the bomb is missing. Thankfully, their leader, Con, had sent two other operatives to them as backup, just as AJ loses contact with May. He would like to burn down everything to do with Simpson and the base, but now he has no idea where she is or the bomb, which is the most important part of the job they were on. AJ had never thought about a relationship with anyone, having given up on a normal life, but his feelings for May have become intense and immediate. He is a protector and will do anything to save the woman who has suddenly become so important in his life and Con has sent him just the people who could help them. When he gets her back, if he can, he won’t let her be on the mission anymore, but he doesn’t really have a choice in this. She is his fiery counterpart and won’t let it be anything but being in it together going forward! The bomb is still out there, and the story will have to continue in another book, so I will have to wait and see who continues the hunt for the terrorist and their target. Action with steamy instant romance between two clashing independent people, forced together against their wills, but who end up breaking the rules and coming together fully for a previously unimagined future together.

AJ Henner was part of SEAL Team Blackout Charlie which meant he had left his life, as all believed him deceased, and family behind to become a stealth operative. He was assigned to partner with explosives expert May Lin to defuse bomb sent to US by a devious enemy known only as Cypher, whose messages the team cryptologists said was entering the US in a Virginia port. The two of them were attending a Gala, undercover to meet and greet and overhear gossip from people in the business of arms...May's family well-known in explosives industry so her attending event was not suspicious, but AJ had to avoid any men he met in service, and he wasn't thrilled to be paired with civilian...they did meet a Major General May knew quite well as he was friends with her father...but would he have any reason to doubt them??? They found truck that was transporting bomb and managed to follow to Missouri...but how would they find it at a large military installation??? Can they fulfill their mission and allow him to protect her when he comes to realize how he feels about her. But does she feel the same? Will they complete the mission or die trying?
The story is full of tension as the two accept the mission. It builds as they come to realize they are drawn to each other. This is the 2nd book in SEAL Team Blackout Charlie series featuring the page-turning steamy action-packed, danger, enemies to lovers, explosive, forced proximity, opposites attract, protector, SEAL romance between AJ and May Lin. This is a fast-paced military romantic suspense that keeps you turning the pages to see if AJ and May Lin can work together when the sparks fly between them and they don't trust one another. However they're forced to pretend to be a couple so that they can keep track of a hazardous bomb which they witness being loaded onto a vehicle. They follow it to see where they're going to take it all the while bantering back and forth which sparks their chemistry. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this page-turning steamy action-packed, danger, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, opposites attract, protector, SEAL romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Thoughts: This was a quick, fast paced read. May and AJ had some great banter and their fights turned out to be more foreplay than actual fighting. They worked well together but were both incredibly headstrong and didn’t want to admit when they were wrong.
The suspense was well written and played a large role in the book. It was a continuation of the fight with Cypher from the first book and seems like it will continue throughout the series.
The romance was a little bit of an instant love romance. May and AJ moved quickly from enemies to lovers during their time undercover. They had to decide if their love was worth the risk as AJ was supposed to be dead and not supposed to have ties to a family or friends.

Dangerous Devotion (SEAL Team Blackout Charlie Book 2) by Em Petrova is page turner from beginning to end that I could not put down. This steamy, enemies to lovers, military suspenseful romance kept my interest throughout. It was very well written with romance intertwined with intrigue making it an excellent read. I love the capable, determined, intelligent, witty characters of May and AJ. Each individual with a past life and varied experiences are brought together through work with many witty clashes, emotional tension, and a heartfelt connection that develops into respect and a relationship. I love their chemistry and their connection. I also love this well written story and I highly recommend.

A race against time, an unknown threat, yet when two very different personalities are put together to neutralize a bomb, sparks seem to fly. AJ is a ghost in the real world, being a member of Blackout, he walked away from the possibility of a relationship and family, he was ok with that life until her. She made him feel more and when the real danger is directed at her he will do anything to save her.
I love getting lost in Em military stories, they are action filled, intense both emotionally and dangerously. The characters and scenes seem so real, like this could be happening now. I always say I can’t wait for more, and it’s true Em includes characters from the teams in each book so you get a glimpse into their lives as the series evolves.

Putting the pieces together
AJ Henner/Chickie and May. Four stars for their chemistry and dialogue. 3 stars for the intrigue or suspense of the story as it was clear who the main bad guy was in this story from the beginning. AJ and May were a hoot and so was Con telling them to stop tattling on each other. I enjoyed the carryover from book one to this story of the bomb and trying to find the head guy. The story ends with more clues and another bad guy off the map, but not the main guy or main plan. More information waa shared about another team and we got more time with more of the team which left me excited for their stories. The loopholes as Con called relationships was sweet for May and AJ, but I did have questions regarding her role with other teams and family knowing AJ with the whole blackout aspect.A solidly fun read.

This book was such a great read. Loads of action, suspense, danger and an amazing romance.
When May and AJ are ordered to team up in search of a bomb, they are both far from happy about it.
They certainly didn't like each other initially. They rubbed each other the wrong way but that attraction was there. I loved that dynamic between them and that turned steamy and romantic really quick. Something forbidden always looks attractive.
I enjoyed the team spirit and the back up the other guys in the team offered. But the plot was compelling and grabbed on from the start.
So well done, it was an amazing read, and I love this series.

Book 2 in the Seal Team Blackout Charlie jusst gets better and better.
AJ and May continue the mission to find the people behind the current threat. They rub eachother wrong from the start. While trying to figure out how to work together to get the information pertenient to moving foward they find it may be chemistry not dislike coloring their interactions.
This is a fun fast pace book that you can't put down until the end. AJ and May are funny and the chemistry between them in just hot. As they discover more people involved in the threat AJ will have to use everything he has learned to get to May in time. If you haven't read any of Em Petrova's Seal series this is a perfect place to start.

I really enjoyed reading Dangerous Devotion . This story is full of suspense and romance . AJ Henner is a member of Seal Team Blackout . This team are men thought to be dead . They are an elite group of warriors tasked at taking down terrorists . When a threat of a bomb heading to a military base . AJ and explosives expert may Lin are teamed up to go undercover and find and remove the threat . The two clash at first but soon attraction takes over . The bomb is not the only thing that may explode . AJ will stop at nothing to protect the woman he realizes has captured his heart . This story is outstanding and smoking hot . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

SEAL Team Blackout Charlie Series. Book two Dangerous Devotion is AJ aka “Chickie” and May’s story. Con, AJ’s commanding Officer assigned AJ and May together for this Op (go under cover to locate a bomb that is linked to a terrorist orchestrating attacks on the United States). May is a brilliant but very determined explosives expert. This is a fast paced, page turning romance story with the pages flowing with danger, betrayal, suspense, action, back and forth banter along with some sizzling hot chemistry, love, and that HEA, plus scenes that heat up the pages. I am very anxious for book three Cobra’s story. This series has been an excellent read. Enjoyable. I highly recommend. Loved it! Sizzling hot was what this story was when Con assigned AJ Henner and May Lin to follow a bomb from harbor freight yard all the way to an army base in Missouri. Charlie Team was still after Cipher, and he was running them a merry chase. AJ and May did not hit it off at first, but that was like foreplay for them. Turned off those two had an undeniable chemistry when they were not on the trail of the bomb. They were in bed tearing up the sheets. The suspense was edge of your chair real, and the romance was oh so sweet and charming.

When SEAL team Blackout Charlie was tasked with finding a bomb headed to a US military base, Con selected AJ Henner (Chickie) to head the Op, along side May Lin, an explosive expert. Their first interaction was a no go. They disliked one another at first sight and fought and bickered continuously. They were suppose to be a couple and attend a big gala. AJ was worried that his cover could be blown with all the military people in attendance. A very good storyline with plenty of danger, suspense and steamy chemistry between the main characters who were awesome. Good addition to this series.

SEAL Team Blackout Charlie is still on the trail of the bomb and bomb expert May Lin is brought in to defuse it once they have discovered its location. The two have an instant dislike to each other but as we all now, that is like putting two magnets together, we know they will end up together in the end. That journey is fantastic, and the suspense, betrayal and ups and downs are exciting to read and great page turners. We get a glimpse of the next Charlie team member who will get his story and Cobra is one I can't wait to read.

Dangerous Devotion is the 2nd book in the SEAL Team Blackout Charlie series and I highly recommend reading them in order, since the suspense arc continues on from the previous one. May and AJ's romance is fast-paced, full of heat and chemistry. There both very likeable characters and I greatly enjoyed their journey to a HEA all while in search of a major threat. Loved getting insights into more of the team as well and am now looking forward to the next mission in search of the elusive terrorist.

Book 2 and AJ is tasked with leading this op and his partner is May who's a top bomb expert and they need to track down and find the bomb and see where it goes and who the terrorist is. When they first meet it's like oil and water neither one wanting to work with the other but Con forces them to act as a power couple. Wonderful characters with chemistry that is off the charts and hard to ignore. It's fast paced suspense. And we are slowly learning more about the team and who's behind the bombing.

The Blackout team has been looking for the path of a bomb that left India’s port. They have found that it is going to make port , then be on its way to a military base. Together they will need to find a way to stop the bomb from detonated. This is a great book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

A thrilling. exciting story with fabulous characters. The sparks certainly fly right from the very beginning - there's certainly no love lost between them! When they have to work together, they have to try and find common ground. As the story unravels, they begin to foster feelings for each other AJ and May Lin have to finish their mission before they can safely expand their relationship. A great 2nd book in the series.

Can't get enough of these heros. Ms Petrova never disappoints. May Lin is a bomb expert, it runs in the family. She is teamed up with Aj, a Special Operative for Seal Team Blackout. They don't like each other in the beginning. Neither believes the other is up for the job. They must find and dismantle a bomb that has been tracked to the US. Can they work together to find the bomb or will their differences get in the way?.

These two really disliked each other at first. But May and AJ realized pretty quickly that their skills and different viewpoints could really complement each other, including lots of steamy scenes and ops actions to track the bomb that May is the expert on. There was not quite as much interaction with most of the Blackout team in this book (they seemed busy with another critical op) but certain members showed up just in the nick of time!

AJ and May are so explosive together, steaming hot, feisty, argumentative and "rip your clothes off" sexy. The mission continues as they follow the bomb whilst still hunting Cipher, but this part of the plot fades into the background compared to the fireworks between May and AJ. They are fun, flirty and shockingly blunt with each other but it is highly entertaining.
They never expected to like each other, so finding love shocks them both!
I love the Blackout teams and their "bending" of the rules, I read this on Kindle Unlimited.
