This is such a good romantic suspense series!

The action kicks off quickly in Defending You. Jewelry appraiser Cici is in the backroom of a jewelry store valuing inventory when she witnesses a murder. Cici's then on the run for her life. With her well connected family, she soon has a bodyguard. The bodyguard is none other than the man who Cici turned down for prom back in high school. Although Asher sees Cici as affluent and snooty, he's determined to do his job.

Can't wait for Delaney's story in book eight.

My gratitude to the author for a complimentary e-copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

This is a story that started out with a bang, literally! A jewelry appraiser witnesses a murder which puts her on a run for her life along with a bag of priceless, stolen jewelry. An old high school scorned “friend” gets hired to protect her as she flees for her life.
This kept me spellbound for hours as I “ran” right along with CiCi and Asher. The chase traveled through multiple states in various vehicles and on foot as well. Several close calls kept my heart pounding. The bad guys seemed to always know where they were even after ditching their phones. If you like fast paced chases with several close calls, this is your next book on your TBR pile. And I can’t even begin to describe the shoot out ending that included kidnapping and bullets flying!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through Celebrate Lit but was not required to write a review.

Wow! This book right from the get go was a crazy adventure. Twists and turns and trouble. Cici Wright is a jewelry appraiser that witnesses a murder and comes across stolen heirloom pieces. This is the catalyst to a wild, crazy ride of survival. Throw in a bodyguard who used to be a geeky friend from high school who had a glow up…well, it is a recipe for biases revealed and dealt with, wounding of the heart healed, insecurities voiced and silenced, and a journey in a renewed friendship that made it tough to out this book down to get some sleep. Loving the series of the Wright Sisters and can’t wait for the next adventure.

Defending You is the next great story in the Wright Heroes of Maine series. Both Cici and Asher, the main characters in this story, have strong personalities and appear to completely misunderstand each other’s intentions, but I do believe their hearts are in the right place. They both seek guidance and strength from the Lord - I love how Robin always brings us back to the Word , gently but firmly. This is an exciting, suspenseful and dramatic story and a definite must have in the series. Thank you Robin for another wonderful story - looking forward to the next one!!

What an excellent addition to the continuing saga of the Wright family saga. When Cici, a jewelry appraiser, witnesses a murder, the bodyguard assigned to her is none other but Asher, whom she turned down for prom and crushed his spirit. Asher isn't thrilled when he realizes it's Cici he's protecting. Cici and Asher's story has tension, plenty of action and danger, and romance as they are running from the bad guys. Great romantic suspense story.

It was so good to be back in this series! I absolutely love the Wright family and can never get enough of seeing more of these characters. I connected so much with Cici’s character, she was so real and relatable, and Ashton really showed what true character looks like. Watching their story unfold was beautiful, and if you’re a fan of the cat-and-mouse trope, you will love this book because it delivered those vibes perfectly and kept me hooked from start to finish. Robin’s books are always an instant read for me the second they release (or sooner if I can grab an ARC), and I have never been disappointed. This one definitely did not disappoint either, and I absolutely cannot wait for Delaney’s story next!! 💕

This action-packed book just kept going through twists and turns as Cici and Asher tried to keep ahead of those hunting them. Relations between Cici and Asher were somewhat tense to start with, but they still found themselves falling for each other. As they kept trying to make it back to their hometown, it was a lot of fun for them to meet up with and receive help from a couple of characters that I knew from previous books. This was an excellent and well-written love story with good triumphing over evil in the end, but Cici and Asher were definitely in some trying situations along the way! So good!

Wow! Simply Wow! Such an amazing and gripping story of adventure, love, forgiveness, fear, failure, overcoming failure! Dreams that aren’t quite true, life that includes God, His forgiveness, and His constant involvement in our lives if we’ll just let Him. Life that we mess up, but God will bring together for good if we’ll just let Him!

Another full-on from the get go story. It keeps your heart pumping, and wondering how the bad guys always a step ahead?! I really liked how Asher was willing to go to the extreme to keep Cici safe. Both the characters have rejection issues and baggage to deal with. Both trying to "prove" themselves worthy.
Like the ending. Especially where the sisters talk about the change in their father's behaviour. Important as every one had 'daddy issues'.
Another home run from this Author!!!

I love the Wright heroes of Maine. This book did not disappoint. The action, the suspense and of course the faith of the characters. I always look forward to the next book by Robin, this is no different.
Each is stand alone but the other characters keep showing up, so if you didn't read their story, you will be searching for it.

I got an ARC copy of this book and, as is typical if you are a fan of Ms Patchen, this was high octane suspense, beautiful romance with a strong faith message - God speaks, He acts, He saves!
Robin delivers well developed characters, strong, captivating plots and Asher and Cici's story did not disappoint.
If you have read Robin's books before, I am pretty sure you don't need convincing. If you haven't, what on earth are you waiting for??!

“He wasn’t here to win her approval. He was here to keep her breathing. That was the job. That was all that mattered.”

Robin Patchen is one of the authors who has had a great influence in convincing me that romantic suspense is a genre I truly like! The Wright Heroes of Maine is such a great series! Each book details the story of a different Wright family member and his or her Romance amidst much danger. While each, including book 7, Defending You, can be enjoyed as a standalone, I am glad to have read each of the previous ones in order, as they do build. Especially this book builds on the characters and events of the book immediately preceding it.

Cici Wright, a jewelry appraiser, is witness to a murder. On the run for her life from the jewelry thieves, she finds herself in the company of the last person she would have selected to be her bodyguard- Asher Rhodes. Currently working for the Green Beret Protection Agency, Asher was once a shy, geeky high school classmate of CiCi’s, and one whom she had cruelly humiliated.

Both Asher and CiCi have some healing and growing to do. CiCi feels the need to excel in such a way that she will standout from her sisters and be noticed at long last by her dismissive, high-ranking father. Asher feels the need to prove himself at the agency in order to secure his job as well as to show CiCi that her rejection didn't scar him- if only that were true!

To protect his heart as he protects her safety, Asher treats CiCi with disdain and as if she is an underling to be commanded. CiCi, with her sense of needing to prove herself and having a bit of entitlement, insists on having much more a say in the protection plans Asher leads them into. “She laughed, though the sound held zero humor. “Look, I get that you’re better than I am in dangerous situations, but that doesn’t make me stupid. My opinion counts. I’m not your soldier or your lackey.”

The action is intense, steady, and addictive! The couple are both flawed, and it took me a while to at least like Asher. He is a one man- no questions asked- show.

I felt most deeply for CiCi, so desperate to do something notable, in an effort to secure her father’s love. I was happy to see Asher finally able to open up and help CiCi realize that her earthly father’s failings didn't represent how her Heavenly Father felt about her. “You do know what He’d”[ her Heavenly Father] “say. That you’re the person He created you to be, and He adores you. So…not that it’s easy or anything, but I guess my point is, who cares what Gavin Wright thinks when you have the King of the whole universe pleased with you?” - Asher

Patchen does a great job of keeping the suspense high, throwing in truth nuggets, and surprise twists that make the story resonate! Highly recommended!

I received a copy of the book from Celebrate Lit. I also bought my own copy. No positive review was required, and all opinions are my own.

Notable Quotables:

“I’ve spent so much time trying to prove I matter that I forgot to actually live the life God gave me. To choose what I want instead of what I think will make other people happy.” - CiCi

“…That’s why it’s better not to have anyone you care about…Love is a liability.” - Gagnon

“You can’t judge someone’s character by their bank account.” - CiCi

“To live is to risk. Security is an illusion.” - Asher

4.5 stars for this romantic suspense novel by Robin Patchen! This is book 7 in the Wright Heroes of Maine series, but I believe it could stand on its own. There are a few references to prior stories, but enough detail is given that you should still be able to enjoy this story even if it is the first one you pick up. I do believe you would have a richer experience reading the series in order, though. This book is follows Cici Wright, the 3rd of the Wright sisters. Fans of the prior books (namely Capturing You) will recognize early on the necklace that Cici comes across while doing appraisal work for one of her jeweler clients. When she discovers a piece that was stolen from the family of her sister's beau, she finds a way to finally do something that matters - only it goes horribly wrong. This book hit the ground running and never really let up throughout.

The suspense element is easily seen throughout as Cici finds herself on the run after witnessing a murder. The bad guys always seem to be a step ahead and a bodyguard is called in for Cici, providing the romance element of the story. A second chance romance trope, this one brings in the nerdy kid who'd had a crush on Cici all through high school (but who has since filled out) back as her bodyguard. Though they had some shared history, I did feel like the romance moved a bit too fast for my liking as they hadn't had any encounters with each other in over a decade. But it had all the right moments to be a 2nd chance trope, as well as a bit of "enemies to lovers" tension in it as Asher had been humiliated by Cici in high school and had attempted to keep an emotional wall between them. I enjoyed the story line in this one and the twists and turns thrown in as well. There was good character development throughout and the characters were likable and relatable. There was a more subtle faith thread in this one, but was definitely present at various times. And of course, I enjoyed "catching up" with the main characters from the prior books. In addition to the other Wrights, it was also fun to "see" a couple of the characters from Nutfield. That was a fun Easter egg thrown in for fans of the author's prior series. All in all, this was a thoroughly enjoyable romantic suspense read and one I would easily recommend to fans of the genre and particularly fans of the author. Special thanks to the author for an advance e-copy of this novel. I was under no obligation to provide a review and the thoughts contained herein are my own.

Defending You
By Robin Patchen

Another amazing book by author Robin Patchen. This is the seventh book in The Wrights Heroes of Main series, but this is also considered to be a stand alone book.

You first meet Cecelia “Cici” Wright, she is the third out of five daughters and a jewelry appraiser. In the prior two books in the series you will have met her two older sisters Alyssa and Brooklyn. If possible, I highly recommend reading Brooklyn’s story in Capturing You as some of the story line flows into this book, but it’s not necessary to read it.

Next you meet Asher Rhodes, he is a former Navy SEAL and personal bodyguard. He works for the GBPA which is a security/protection company that Cici’s cousin Grant Wright use to work at along with Grant’s wife Summer who is part owner of the company.

Cici is in Philadelphia visiting one of her favorite jewelry store owners, Mr. Delvecchio known by his friends as Mr. D. His niece has purchased a bag of jewelry and he wanted to see if there was anything of value that his niece might have brought. As Cici starts looking through the items she stumbles upon a necklace that she believes to be the stolen necklace from a long ago murder case in her hometown. Someone walks into the jewelry store and starts asking Mr. D about the bag of jewelry his niece purchased. All of the sudden Cici hears a scuffle and sneaks a peak to see what’s going on. She sees two men in the store. One is strangling Mr. D and the other is keeping a lookout. Cici panic and runs out the back of the store with the necklace. Cici is now on the run with bad guys after her.

Asher gets the call to protect Cici. He knows he’s guarding the girl that humiliated him and broke his heart back in high school. Asher doesn’t hesitate and takes the job and set asides the hurt from the past to do his job. When Asher shows up to help her she’s surprised to see him and she still carries the regret of humiliating him. At the moment they have more serious matters to deal with like the fact that there’s at least two killers on her tail and the mystery surrounding the necklace. Can Asher and Cici work together to survive and return the necklace to its rightful owner?

Come along on this fast-paced, action-packed adventure. I highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed.
Happy Reading!

First, read this series in order. Do you have to? No. But should you? Absolutely yes!! In reality, you need to read the other series that comes before this one first, too. You see, there are characters from two other series that you see in this series. So, I just added probably a dozen to two dozen books to your to-be-read pile. You’re welcome!

This book focuses on Cici. She’s a jewellery appraiser. And she’s really good at it. When she stops by a shop and finds a piece of stolen jewellery, she grabs the bags and runs. Well, that’s not entirely true. More happens as she runs, but I’m not going to ruin it for you. But she’s followed, and they always seem to know where she is! How do they know? Why can’t she shake them?!

Enter her protection.
You see, the jewellery she finds belongs to the murdered mother of her sister’s flame. Did you get that? Don’t worry, it’ll make sense when you read this novel and even more sense if you read the rest of the series that precedes this one.

And who is the protection that was hired to get her to safety? None other than the boy(now a man) that she turned down when asked out to the dance way back in high school. She might not remember him immediately, but he remembers her. And maybe he holds a bit of a grudge still.

Can they overcome the past? Will Cici trust Asher to protect her? Will she do as she’s asked (or ordered)? And why do they keep getting found?

I loved both of the characters. They’re great. The dynamic between them is so fun, and I could not quit reading. The suspense is top-notch and will keep you guessing and wondering, but also laughing a bit, too. I loved catching up with characters from the other novels, too.

Five stars! Get ready for a great read!

I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I have really been enjoying this series of high stakes suspense and romance. This is CiCi Wright's story. She unfortunately gets caught up in danger by doing no less than her job. As a jewelry appraiser, she happens to come across a long lost and highly valuable jeweled necklace that was last seen right before a murder took place. This necklace belongs to her sister's boyfriend's family, and it was his mother who was wearing it before his parents were murdered.

Things go from bad to worse rather quickly. Whatever CiCi does, the murderers are one step ahead of her and are always right behind her or show up where she is going. She needs help and fast. Her help comes in the form of a former high school classmate, Asher Rhodes, who is all grown up now.

Asher, a geek in high school has always had a crush on CiCi. However, she made it clear back then when she turned him down. Now Asher, former Navy Seal is brought on to bring CiCi and the necklace safely back home. He is carrying around a big chip on his shoulder when it comes to her. Unfortunately, the danger is only heightening their strong attraction to one another. Can these two work things out and stop bickering enough to make it out of this alive and hopefully help bring an important clue to a long-ago murder case? The tension was high in this one and their feelings for one another, both good and bad, were palpable.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the author. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.

This is another action packed inspirational romantic suspense from Patchen. The main characters, Cici and Asher, have a history which includes deep hurt. His being assigned to guard her is initially awkward but we hope they can get over it to a potential romance. Asher definitely has some work to do on his character.

I found Asher hard to like at first. He was harsh and abrupt. It takes a while for his protective shell built from previous hurt to crack a bit, opening himself to character growth. Cici is a good heroine. Strong and capable. Much of the novel is character driven in that we are privy to the thoughts of Asher and Cici as they ruminate previous experiences and think of a possible future.

The suspense filled plot is a bit repetitive. Asher chooses to go solo in protecting Cici. He manages to evade the bad guys only to have the villains find them again, time after time after time. A car chase, hiking, camping, on a motorcycle. Finally, Asher calls in help, something he could have done earlier, avoiding the repetitive events of danger. He knows he messed up but that is part of his character transformation. The final suspense is quite good, however.

This novel is down the line in a series. Even though each novel centers on a different character, many of those characters play a part in this novel. It would be best to read the previous novels to obtain the best reading experience with this one.

I received a complimentary egalley of this book through Celebrate Lit. My comments are an independent and honest review.

Action packed drama begins right at the start, and I mean right at the beginning of this book.. and it doesn’t stop there. What starts out as an innocent jewelry inspection turns into Cici Wright running for her life.

It seems like a necklace in a bag of costume jewelry that Cici was checking, was anything but cheap or costume. Not only was it real with valuable rubies and diamonds, it was a family heirloom that was connected to a decades old murder, a murder Cici knew all about.

Yes, I said Cici Wright, of the Wright brothers ‘fame’. If you’ve read any of the previous books involving the Wrights, you’ll know those ruthless killers going after Cici are headed for a lot of trouble. No, it won’t be easy, but Cici has something going for her that the bad guys don’t. Cici is a woman of faith.

So yes, as you turn the pages you’re in for heart-pounding drama and emotion. But in true Robin Patchen style, you’re not just going to read suspense. You’re going to be drawn into a book that requires forgiveness from the very person protecting her. It was years ago, but Cici’s bodyguard, former Navy Seal Asher Rhodes, suffered a very humiliating experience at the hands of Cici.

So now that they are dependent on each other, they are going to have to heal from a painful history … their very lives depend upon it. There will be trials and tribulation… forgiveness and also redemption… but one thing is certain: With God, all things are possible.

The action begins early in chapter one and never stops until the final chapters. Cici Wright witnesses a murder just after recognizing stolen jewelry involved in another murder years ago. She flees the backroom of the jewelry store where she was conducting an appraisal, taking the bag containing the stolen items with her. The murderer and his associate, having come in search of those very items, take up the chase. A chase that has them showing up at every turn and bringing more help along. Cici's connections hire and send a bodyguard to assure she arrives safely home. Both were quite surprised and not a little unsettled to recognize one another from their hometown high school. Asher Rhodes, once a skinny nerd, in now a filled-out, former Navy Seal who had plenty of reason to be wary of his high school crush. Keeping her alive turns out to be more than he bargained for in many ways.

As always Robin Patchen has provided readers with a compelling, action-filled, clean romantic suspense story. While I am partial to the stories about CiCi's cousins, I am enjoying the stories about her and her sisters very much. I just purchased the first three books of this series, The Wright Heroes of Maine, for my husband, and look forward to building his Kindle library with more of Robin's books.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Defending You from the author without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

"Get the supplies, get to the hotel, get Cici under control. He'd run this op like any other - tight, clean, no room for error."

Asher Rhodes grew out of his nerdy high school reputation to become a Navy SEAL and then a bodyguard for clients with plenty of money to secure their safety. When he receives the call for his next assignment Asher never expected to come face to face with his past; Cecilia Wright, even more beautiful than his memory.

Cici Wright had gotten herself into a bit of a pickle, to put it mildly. During the beginning stages of a jewelry appraisal, she ended up in the wrong place at the wrong time. Recognizing the priceless worth of one of the items in particular, and to whom it originally belonged, she had no time to think about the consequences as she fled the scene with the valuables, followed by some very dangerous men in hot pursuit. When Asher Rhodes shows up at the door of her hotel room announceing that he is there to ensure her safety, she can scarcely believe her eyes.

This story moves quickly from an awkward reunion into an amazing relationship, initially fraught with misunderstandings, misperceptions, and miscommunications, while being chased by an enemy largely unknown yet extremely capable. Readers will love Cici and Asher as much as the two end up loving each other by the end of this wildly paced, run-for-your-life episode in the popular Wright Heroes of Maine series.

How do the bad guys keep finding them? Asher and Cici just can't figure it out! They have done everything to lose these guys and yet, they can't shake them. There's no way they can be tracked - or is there?

This book is a thrill a minute and you better be ready for it! I love this series, and I know that I better be ready to devote some significant time to read so I can delve into the lives of this family and their suspenseful experiences! Cici appraises jewelry which seems low key enough, until she witnesses a murder and the jewelry ties back to her sister's boyfriend, so she goes on the run (with the jewelry) and tries to stay one step ahead of the murderer! Enter the bodyguard hired by her sister's boyfriend and wouldn't you know, it's someone from her past! Asher Rhodes can't believe it when he sees Cici. She was part of the most humiliating experience of his life! Now the two of them are on the run for the lives and he has to keep her alive! But neither of them is the same people they were in high school - thank goodness!

I loved all the action, the deeply shared feelings, the familial angst and of course, trying to stay alive! It all felt very realistic to me, but I hope it never happens to me! This author writes fantastic romantic suspense, and I can't get enough of her stories!

When you are right, you cannot go wrong. Cici was a Wright, but she felt that she was wrong most of the time when it came to how her dad saw her. She probably never had truly analyzed her feelings, but they drove her to do her best to please him in every endeavor, even though it never seemed to work out. Now she is suddenly in the fight for her life because she made a snap decision that she thought would finally elevate her high enough to gain her father’s esteem. Little did she know when she made the decision that she was putting herself directly in the crosshairs of a man who would stop at nothing to get what he wanted and to protect his own reputation. He was a lifelong criminal dressed up in the fancy attire of an upstanding businessman. When Cici called for help, she never expected the man whose pride she had crushed in high school to show up. But he is no longer the nerdy teenager she remembered, nor is she the rich snob that he thought she was. The huge question is whether they can work together to get themselves out of a life or death situation with the evil men who are chasing them. The action and suspense kept me glued to the screen as I read another story of one of the Wright sisters of Maine. I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

If you enjoy romantic suspense with faith and danger, don’t miss Defending You by Robin Patchen!

This gripping story is the seventh book in The Wright Heroes of Maine series. It follows Cecilia “Cici” Wright, a talented jewelry appraiser, and Asher Rhodes, a former Navy SEAL turned elite bodyguard. Robin Patchen introduces strong characters and unexpected twists from the first chapter. Throughout every page, she weaves faith and redemption, reminding readers why they love her work.

You can read Defending You as a standalone. However, I strongly recommend reading the series in order. Experiencing each book lets you truly know the Wright family, explore the charming coastal town of Shadow Cove, and discover how the supporting characters’ lives intertwine across the series.

True to Patchen’s style, Defending You offers suspense, emotional depth, and spiritual growth. This is a story about learning to trust again—both God and others—after pain and loss. You’ll find moments of danger and heart-pounding action. At its heart is a tender reminder: love and faith can heal even the deepest wounds.

Don’t miss Defending You—pick up your copy and start reading tonight!

I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.

Christian Romantic Suspense has become a favorite genre over the years. Defending You by Robin Patchen is Book 7 in The Wright Heroes of Maine. I have been enjoying this series from the very beginning and have been anxiously awaiting this book.

WOW, this has to be one of the BEST series I have ever read. . The 2 main characters in this book are Cecilia “Cici” Wright and Asher Rhodese. Cici Wright is an jewelry appraiser and she loves her job. The storyline gets really interesting when Cici finds a ruby necklace that has a connection to a cold case murder from decades ago. Life becomes complicated for Cici after this find and she decides to run and hide. Asher, who happens to be a bodyguard, finds that he needs to protect Cici from the danger she is in due to the Ruby Necklace find. Cici and Asher had a relationship in the past and neither really want to see one another. Cici emotionally hurt Asher and that is why their relationship ended previously. Asher decides he needs to do his job, so he takes on protecting Cici. I truly love that through their adventures and protection they saw healing in their hearts and emotions towards one another. The book is one of Forgiveness, Healing and reconciliation. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian Romance Suspense Novels. OUTSTANDING BOOK!

She saw a murder...he's a bodyguard hired to protect...no way, her?

Defending You is about murder and theft and gangsters and chases...and reconnecting with the one person from high school you never expected to see again. This fast-paced story has Cici Wright running from thugs who want to take back what they stole, or so she thinks. Her father hired a bodyguard to protect her and get her home, but she never expected it to be that nerdy smart boy from high school, Asher Rhodes. Except he isn't a nerd anymore, nor is he a boy! Together they have to work their way back up to Maine while being chased by thugs who always seem to be one step ahead. Will they make it? You'll have to read for yourself. But be warned: it's the kind of fast-paced, heart-pounding book that you won't want to put down until you get to the last page! Robin Patchen has outdone herself with this one, they way she delves into the minds and motives of not only the good guys, but also the bad guys. She shows us that how a person was in the past isn't as important as the person they have become now; people change, our opinion of them needs to change as well. As always, the lessons learned about life are the bonuses to reading a great story.

Another high energy romantic suspense read by Robin Patchen. Cici Wright witnesses a crime and flees. Now she’s in the crosshairs of the murderer not only because she witnessed the murder, but she has in her possession what he wants - a priceless ruby necklace. The necklace was stolen decades earlier during the unsolved murder of some of the wealthy Ballantine family. Cici’s desires to return the necklace to Forbes Ballantine, heir of the family’s wealth and seriously dating Cici’s sister, Brooklyn, following their own escape from evil.
Asher Rhoads, former Navy Seal, and former classmate of Cici, is assigned as her bodyguard as she seeks to get to Forbes in Shadow Cove. Memories of her thoughtless rejection of his invitation to their high school prom linger and color his perception of the adult Cici, making this assignment very difficult.
But as the murderer and his cohorts seem to show up everywhere Asher and Cici flee to as they make their way back to Shadow Cove, they begin to see each other in a different light.
How will Asher keep Cici safe until they reach their destination? Grab a copy and read on for all their heart-stopping adventures.
I received an ARC and the viewpoints expressed herein are my own.

This is a whole new take on bodyguard romance and I’m all in. A geek rejected by his high school crush is now a former navy seal and hired to guard her life from powerful men with unknown motives. What could possibly go wrong?

Cici didn’t plan on seeing a murder or finding a necklace connected to an old mystery but circumstances can sometimes bite. On the run she must depend on the help of a bodyguard she has no idea she hurt as a teen. A growing attraction might just complicate matters and right now the adrenaline is pumping and survival is the goal. I like her spunkiness and strength even if she doesn’t see herself that way.

I love how Asher puts aside the past and focuses on getting Cici out of this alive. No small feat when she’s just as intoxicating as she was before. He tries to keep his walls up, but watching him fight the attraction and fail is pretty satisfying. Now not only this, but he must keep his wits as danger closes in. Now might be a good time for prayer.

This is an adrenaline fueled ride from start to finish and I’d pay over and over again for this excellent book given to me by the author. This is my opinion of the book and I highly recommend it.

Defending You is the seventh book in the Wright Heros of Main series by Robin Patchen. This is a fast paced, action packed Christian suspenseful romance story that is well written and easy to read and imagine. Cici is working at a jewelry story and finds a necklace connected to her sister's boyfriend's mother's murder when the owner is killed. When she attempts to get away, the killer is one step ahead of her. With no way out she calls her sister's boyfriend who sends Asher to help her get home.

This is an enjoyable story to read. I enjoy how the author has written stories of the Wright sisters. This story is filled with so much action and suspense. No matter what Ascher and Cici do, the killers always find them. I appreciate how the Wright family has so many law enforcement connections and how they all come to help out when they are called. This is a great story that also shows the family dynamics and the way in which the different family members help out. I especially appreciate how this story gives the background of the Wright father.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.
