When a sexy fireman and a sassy filmmaker’s worlds collide, can they stand still long enough to let love ignite, or will their instinct to run keep them from the one thing worth fighting for?
Luke Cappelli is the ultimate bachelor. He’s never stuck around longer than one night, and no woman has ever tempted him to. Until Bella. With a face that rivaled an angel’s and a mouth that could make a sinner blush, it was like she was created especially for him. Which is why committing to a few weeks of fun felt easy. But when it came time for her to leave, Luke realized letting her go wasn’t just hard—it was impossible.
Bella had one job. Deliver a that’s it. Easy. She’d be in and out of Woodvalley Pines faster than you could say “howdy”. Well, that was the plan anyway. Until she came face to face with broody firefighter, Luke Cappelli. With a sarcastic remark for every occasion and enough red flags to fill a parade, the man had heartbreaker written all over him. It didn’t matter, though, because their time together had an expiry date, which was for the best. Wasn’t it?
Fans of Not the Marrying Kind by Kathryn Nolan or Hot in Here by Sophie Renwick will be enthralled by Isobel Reed’s sassy romances with witty dialogue and swoon-worthy happily-ever-afters. Grab a tall glass of water, find a cozy spot, and dive into HOTHEAD—a romance too sizzling to put down!
Isobel was born and raised in London. While she’s a city girl at heart, she loves daydreaming about running away to a charming small town—though she’s not entirely sure her husband and son would share her enthusiasm for the move. When she’s not writing small-town romantic comedies or growing unhealthily attached to the characters in her books, you can find her reading, chasing after her very active toddler, or attempting to channel her inner domestic goddess in the kitchen (with varying degrees of success).
Known for her witty dialogue and swoon-worthy small-town heroes, Isobel signed with Inkspell Publishing in 2021. The following year, she released Love Tools, the first book in her four-book Bluestone Series. In early 2024, she launched Toasted, the debut novel of her seven-book Love Burns Series, which will roll out over the next year.
4 stars Hothead is the fourth delicious book in the Love Burns Rom Com series by Isobel. This is a fun, witty, and humorous contemporary romance tale set in the small town where the quirky and meddlesome residents know everyone’s secrets. With sassy women and broody sarcastic firefighters with vulnerabilities that evokes memories and laughter as the pages turn. Unfortunately, it’s over before you want it to be. Bella is just passing through that is until one hot firefighter grabs her attention. Unabashed she spends time with this womaniser because it’s for a set time, isn’t it. Luke loves women and they love him, but this one sets him on fire. He doesn’t want to let her go. The chemistry sizzles off the pages, and the sparks fly, that causes a fire that is hot and threatens to burn the town down. Don’t miss out on this fun contemporary romantic comedy tale. I can’t wait for the next book.
I just adore this series. These firefighters are a broody and possesive bunch who fall hard and fast, and take passion and jealousy to a new level. Bella is honouring her best friends memory by connecting with his estranged brother and giving him the answers he needs. What she didn't anticipate was to start to catch feelings for the sarcastic and grumpy firefighter she will only know for a month. His hot and cold attitude has her thoughts all over the place, but she isn't the only one confused. Luke doesn't date, doesn't do feelings, and certainly doesn't do love. All he wants is to find out what happened to his brother, and to forget all about the sassy new angel. But Bella has him feeling possessive, obsessed, and determined to make her stay. This small town romance is filled with wit, spice, determined women, and characters that fall hard.
🔥"It's like you were made just for me. For me to play with. Worship. Get so fucking lost in, that I don't ever want to be found"
🔥"I swear, angel. Your heart is safe with me"
🔥"You were the one thing this place was missing. You were the missing piece. The key to making it a home"
Bella arrives in Woodvalley Pines with one thing in mind, find Luke Cappelli. Bella does and the snarky firefighter doesn't plan to take what she has to give him. Bella digs in her heels though and since she has sometime on her hands finding her new path in life she sticks around.
Luke is a one and done type of guy which is why he isn't sure why he can't stay away from Bella. He doesn't want to like her but he finds himself falling for the woman who has no problem going toe to toe with him. There is a time limit on what they are to one another, so what happens when that time is up?
Delightful, terrific chemistry between Bella and Luke. Wonderful series to read, all the characters are intriguing and this is the type of book that is perfect to sit outside and read with an iced tea. Love a good book with heated banter.
“Why are you here, Bella?” He noticed her breath quicken. “Marco asked me to come.” She rushed out. “To give you the letter and ...” “And what?” “And h-he wanted me to stick around for a while.”
Things were not going according to plan. As a matter of fact, things were so far off plan, Bella was already considering storming the fire station again. Luke Cappelli was supposed to take the letter. Read the letter. And then ask her questions. Which she would answer as best she could. She’d stick around for a couple of weeks, make sure he was okay, then go back to San Francisco and sort out her life. What he was not supposed to do was deny knowing Marco, refuse the envelope, and then kick her out. And he definitely wasn’t supposed to make her stomach clench. Now here she was, two days later, still on the Evans ranch, still waiting for Luke to turn up. Wasting valuable time that could’ve been spent doing something useful. Like looking for a job or a place to live? Exactly. Important things like that. Things she’d lost right along with her best friend two months ago.
Hothead is the fourth book in the Love Burns series by Isobel Reed. As I have said a few times now, I have really been enjoying this series – eagerly diving into each new instalment to find out what happens. This time it’s Bella and Luke’s turn- and what a fun and witty contemporary romance it turned out to be. With a small-town setting, chemistry, spice, a little angst, humour, interesting & endearing characters, sarcastic banter, emotion, drama, finding love unexpectedly, a favour for a friend turns complicated, and things definitely don’t go according to plan. Bella was supposed to deliver a letter into the hands of her best friend’s brother. A simple task. And his last request. But when Bella arrives in town to do her part- things don’t go according to plan. And her task takes a complicated turn…. A worthy addition to the series. Happy Reading…
Hothead by Isobel Reed is the fourth installment in her “Love Burns” series, where she blends small-town charm, emotional themes, and enough slow burn to toast your Kindle. Hothead follows Luke Cappelli, the brooding firefighter known as the standoffish one, and Bella, the newcomer to Woodvalley Pines, on a mission to heal old wounds for Luke and hopefully herself. Luke and Bella are broken people with pasts as damaged as anyone knows. Both these characters require healing, and it seems the cure comes through healing each other. Bella, a sassy but secretive filmmaker, was sent on a mission to find Luke Cappelli after she lost her best friend in the worst way possible. Her plans were simple: to connect with this guy, deliver a letter, and then get out of dodge just as fast. But her plans derail the minute her eyes land on Luke Cappelli, a gorgeous firefighter with darkness behind his eyes that calls to her. The chemistry between these two keeps pulling them back together, even when they only want to satisfy a carnal itch. What followed was a story filled with humor, emotional growth, and romantic tension. This series has four books so far: Toasted, Cop-Off, Baked, and Hothead. Each of these books can be read as a stand-alone, but each one does continue with the same group of friends in tiny Woodvalley Pines. In preparation for this new release, I read the entire series and found a new favorite author. Each of these stories focuses on a different friend from the Woodvalley Pines firehouse. I have loved to glimpse these characters’ lives and can’t wait to see if the series continues. I highly recommend this book, this series, and this author. If you are looking for a great read full of emotion and love, this is a series that you need to check out.
Hothead (Love Burns Series) by Isobel Reed 4 Stars
Hothead is the second instalment in Isobel Reed’s Love Burns series, following Toasted. Set in the small town of Woodvalley Pines, this novel delivers a sizzling romance between a commitment-averse filmmaker and a brooding firefighter. Luke Cappelli is the quintessential bachelor—handsome, sarcastic, and emotionally unavailable. His world is upended when he meets Bella, a spirited filmmaker with a mission: deliver a letter and leave town. Their initial encounter is electric, leading to a casual fling that neither expects to become serious. However, as their time together progresses, both Luke and Bella find themselves questioning their aversion to commitment. The author excels at crafting characters with depth and relatability. Luke’s transformation from a carefree bachelor to someone contemplating a future with Bella is portrayed with nuance. Bella, on the other hand, is a refreshing heroine—independent, witty, and unafraid to challenge Luke’s preconceived notions about relationships. Their witty banter is enjoyable and their chemistry is off the charts. You can see the characters vulnerability, personal growth, and heartache, which keeps readers entertained and emotionally invested. The small-town setting adds a layer of warmth and familiarity, making the story feel cozy. While Hothead is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. Cameos from previous characters enrich the story without overshadowing Luke and Bella’s story. Hothead is a delightful addition to the Love Burns series, offering a blend of humour, heat, and heartfelt moments.
This is the 4th book in the Love Burns series. I have to admit I have loved every book in this series so far. The author does an amazing job with the characters making them likeable and so deep that you feel part of their lives. This is a romance that doesn't run smoothly, but it feels like Bella and Luke's romance was definately meant to be. Both of them have had troubled pasts and have closed themselves off to the prospect of finding love and trusting other people not to hurt them. But when Bella is sent to deliver a message to Luke from his brother who has passed, I could help but feel it was Luke's brother's way of making sure both people he cared about would take care of each other after he passed which was beautiful to think.
Luke is the cold detached one in the fire station. He never lets anyone one in and that includes women. What starts as a normal day in Luke's life that is until Bella walks in. Not only does she brings news that will change his life and uncover some truths he thought buried but just her presence will impact him in ways he could never imagine.
Bella didn't want to bring the letter to her friend Marco's brother but she couldn't turn down the dying wish of her friend. It should be simple, drop the letter off, make sure Luke reads it, hang around a couple of weeks and then go back to her life. Simple right? What neither of them expected was the attraction that builds up between them, and when an agreement is made with a deadline attached what happens when neither of them want it to end? And when a misunderstanding and poor communication has them leaving each other will they be able to find their way back to each other?
Bella had a job to do, go to Woodvalley Pines deliver the letter Marco had written and then leave, but when she arrives and is waiting around for Marco’s estranged brother Luke to arrive to read the letter, she is getting antsy and wants this to over sooner rather than later.
Luke had been summoned to meet with Bella as she had something from his brother but being the stubborn southern boy he was he waited out his time until he need to put himself and her out of their misery but when he set eyes on her all thoughts went out of the window, she was stunning and he needed to find out about this beautiful women.
As the time goes on Bella believes she can have fun and walk away at the expiry date but as they start to get to know each other the playboy she thought Luke was starting to get in her heart.
This is the fourth book in this series and is a standalone story, although the only real running thread through each of the books is the grumpy, hot, loyal fireman who are just what you want in life.
The story is full of sassy banter between the two main characters, and they really do work well together. The story flows through and I could not wait to read more as the story weaves along and you get to see the back stories of both characters. As always in this series the secondary characters just add an extra layer to the story and it is a wonderful, light-hearted read. Bring on the next book.
Grumpy Meets Sunshine Slow Burn Romance With Sassy Banter For Days
Hothead is the fourth book in Isobel Reed’s Love Burns series. I have not had the pleasure of reading the previous three books, but that’s did not stop me from enjoying this one. Hothead can certainly hold its own as a standalone book, you can enjoy each book as it’s own, although I loved each of the other characters so I may go back and read the others as well. This was so easy to read and I found myself finishing this book within just a couple of hours. Bella was Marcus’ (Luke’s brother) best friend. She’s had a hard life, through which she has learned to hide herself well, usually with sass, snarky comments, and dirty jokes. Marcus has died, but left her with the task of finding his brother and delivering something. Luke has also had a hard life, especially since after his mom died he had no family… that he was aware of. Marcus found him 10 years later and then left again. The only thing Luke has known is abandonment, so he doesn’t let anyone in. Can these two learn to take down their walls and let each other in, or will they end up hurting each other more? Add in the small-town gossip and unexpected friends, and you have a recipe for love… Or disaster. Reed has great characters and a good plot here, and don’t even get me started on the banter between Bella and Luke. If you need a break from the mundane world at large, just for a few hours, I suggest you take that break and read this book.
Has Luke finally met his match? Will the elusive grump finally get brought to his knees? Well that’s just the beginning. Hothead is the next book in the Love Burns series and is takes our resident surly firefighter for a loop. This just happened to be another author and series I thoroughly enjoy. That I just read based on the author’s name. I’ve been caught hook, line, & sunk. Bella shows up on Luke’s doorstep, well more precisely at his job, with a letter. A letter from a man he doesn’t openly acknowledge as his brother, but who is based on the situation nonetheless. She also arrives with the unfortunate news of his passing. Now leaving her to fill out his final wishes. As the book moves forward the reader begins to wonder if Bella was initially sent by Marco because he knew exactly what Luke needed. Luke’s confused because he doesn't understand all the feelings that come over him in Bella’s presence and I’m not sure he wants too. He likes keeping everything to himself under lock and key. So why is she different? Why can she make him feel like home? Can he let her in? Will Bella be willing? Two characters with a lot of baggage that the author displays in a wonderful way. Do yoi look forward, just as I did, to get those answers? Well then it’s time to take the dive into book 4. All there answer are there in black & blue.
This is the 4th book in the series and can be read as a stand alone. Word to the wise is that once you finish this book, if you haven't read the others in this series you will find yourself going to read them next. This author writes with a sense of banter between the characters that allows the reader to fully emerge themselves in the story. I found it really hard to put this book down and ended up staying up super late to finish it. I couldn't help but turn the pages. The words seemed to just flow from page to page. The characters have that burn/chemistry with each other that makes you want to swoon. There are the things in the characters past that they must overcome in order to find their lasting love. This book takes you on a journey that has bumps in the road with the characters as they grow into who they are supposed to be. There is steam, romance, suspense, growth, trauma, and in the end a nice story with a cute little bow. lol. Just kidding, I can't say how it ends because that is for you to figure out by reading it. I have found that the more I read from this author that more excited I become with learning of a new book by them. I am a fan and will continue to read what this author pens. I highly suggest that if you like contemporary romance, to give this book a try and then read the rest of the series.
I have read a few books from this amazing author and she continues to blow my mind on her writing style. This is the fourth book to the very addictive Love Burns series. This book could be read as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited to read this book that I started reading it as soon as I got it. These characters had me right from the beginning and I could not stop reading. It only took me a few hours to devour this amazing story. I can’t wait to see what she will write next.
Bella is Woodvalley Pinea for only one job and that is to deliver a letter for her best friend that passed away suddenly. She finds the very handsome Luke and gives him the letter and he denies her or even knows her best friend. Bella doesn’t know what to do so she stays in town trying to get Luke to read the letter and he is so stubborn that he doesn’t read it. They start to get to know each other and sparks start to fly but she can’t stay; she has to go back to work on a film soon. Will Bella help Luke find out what that letter is about or will he just ignore her?
Luke is a hot and professionally single firefighter in the wonderful world of Woodvalley Pines. All he has known is being deserted and disappointed, so he never allows anyone to get close - at least not for more than a night. He is sarcastic, he is flirty, and he is determined to make life difficult for Bella when he learns of her visit. Until he sees how gorgeous she is, and then he thinks he may be a bit nicer....
Bella is visiting Woodvalley Pines to fulfill a promise made to Marco - the deceased brother of Luke. Luke hadn't even known he'd existed, but once Marco had found him, alone in the world - he then left him alone again. Before Marco died, he wrote a letter to Luke and made Bella promise to deliver it to him and answer any questions he may have. Bella was not going to deny the promise she made, but she was looking forward to having the whole situation behind her.
However, once Bella and Luke meet, they are wildly attracted to one another. They are snarky, flirty, attracted, and both interested in an expiration date on their agreement. As the end date approaches, will they both be able to walk away?
Hothead by Isobel Reed is the fourth book in her “Love Burns” series. This is the second book of Isobel's I have read and enjoyed.
Luke Capelli is the silent brooding firefighter of Woodvalley Pines. He is the true definition of a bachelor. He doesn't do relationships or feelings. His family is his fire fighting team and he is ok with that. Until one day the bombshell of an angel walks into his life. Meet Bella- sarcastic (100% able to give Luke a run for his money), she is whitty and on a mission. The mission is to deliver the news that her best friend (who just so happens to be Luke's brother) Marcus has passed away and she has a letter for Luke from him. But the mission did NOT involve catching feelings for the sexy firefighter Luke.
Bella and Luke have instant chemistry. The temperature of the room seems to rise whenever they are together. The banter is so fun and engaging. They both start to question whether they can remain a fun, physical, short-term fling. Can they fight the growing attraction and real life feelings? Will this finally be the one girl that Luke has a true relationship with? I highly suggest you read and find out for yourself.
This is a new author and series for me. Coming into Book 4, I still was able to follow much of the back stories of this homey small town love story with mild spice. I was invested in the novel only a few chapters in.
Bella had one job to do for her best friend after his untimely death to deliver a letter to his half-brother, Luke. Then, she was to stay on for a few weeks to be available to answer questions or so she thought. It’s only three weeks and back to normal.
Luke kept to himself allowing no close connections especially as a firefighter until his world collided with an unwanted angel, Bella. He is unable to shake the feelings that this angel brings to the surface. Why did Marco send her?
Both have emotional baggage and less than idealistic family upbringing, will their hearts or heads prevail? Reed takes her readers on a sweet journey with a few bumps and twists. I plan on checking out the earlier books in the series. I would recommend it for any who like characters with rough beginnings finding happiness.
I loved getting to read Hothead. This is book 4 in the series and all 4 were great. I loved these characters and what's better than getting to see them in each book.
This book was about Luke and Bella. Luke is a forever bachelor who has never had a relationship and doesn't look to have one any time soon. When Bella shows up in town to tell him his brother Marco had passed away, he didn't really want anything to do with her aside from get in her pants. Bella gives Luke a letter that was from Marco which explains some stuff and actually tells Luke something he never knew. Luke and Bella become friends as she's staying in town for about a month and will Be available to answer any questions Luke may have had about his brother since Bella was his best friend. Of course the chemistry between these two is insane and it's only a matter of time before one of them actually gives in to the desires they both have.
Definitely a great addition to the series and cannot wait for Wade's book Giddy Up to be released next.
This is the fourth book in the Love Burns series and it does not disappoint. Luke is your typical hothead, firefighter, who has just meet his match. Bella has lost her only friend who she also called family, and is now tasked with telling Luke about his brother Marco's passing. As well as to honor Marco's wishes and stick around to make sure Luke is okay. Thing is she starts to have felling for him which can only be worse, because no one wants to be that person who falls for their dead friend’s sibling. Which seems to be a bit of a sore subject since Luke denies even having a brother. The more Luke is around Bella trying to understand who Marco Was, he starts to look at Bella different and tries to figure out just who she was to Marco. It could also be that the more he is around her, his walls he has in place guarding himself come tumbling to the ground. You will be sucked into Luke and Bella's story from page one. So, if you loved the series so far you will love this one just as much. The chemistry, banter and everything else you want all wrapped up in a sexy firefighter outfit.
Luke is a firefighter in WoodValley Pines and he isn’t the most open person when it comes to his feelings. Especially when it comes to his brother Marco who he hasn’t seen in forever. Then Bella shows up to break the news that Marco has passed away. Not only does she show up to the firehouse to announce this news but this woman sets a fire in Luke that he has never felt before. He doesn’t even know this woman why is he reacting the way he is with her. What makes her so different? Marco was Bella’s best friend and partner in business. Marco made documentaries that some were more dangerous and then others and his last one turned out to be the most dangerous of all. Marco sent her to carry out his last wish of delivering a letter to Luke and staying awhile to keep an eye on him. Luke did not take too well to the letter because it left him with many questions which led Bella to telling him that it was a hunter that had targeted Marco due to his sexuality. This did not set well with Luke. But he has yet to figure out why she was still there. Will she stay?
This might be my new favorite out of the series…but let's be honest…I say this every time Reed releases the next installment :) I absolutely love Luke and Bella's banter and chemistry throughout this whole book…literally *chef's kiss*. And Reed really knows how to write those strong, dark, mysterious types ;) There is just so much more to the story and the character's than the spice and I truly appreciate that. Luke and Bella's individual stories were so heart wrenching and when they came together and let themselves be themselves with one another, you were really rooting for them! But of course, they have to get in their own way! I cannot recommend this book enough or this series. They can be read as standalones (my favorite type) but if you read the series as a whole, you get insight into other characters and they continue to show up even after their "book" is finished. I absolutely love Isobel Reed and she is quickly becoming an automatic "add to cart" author for me.
A delightful story of a grumpy, cold Luke that finally learns to love when bubbly Bella enters his life. At first Luke was not happy about the intrusion, especially because Bella brought with her news and a letter. Luke didn’t want to face either.
After Luke read the letter, he realized that he could open his heart up to the one woman that brought light and laughter into his life. So he made it his mission to pursue the spark, the undeniable chemistry between him and Bella. Bella didn’t make it easy for him. She made him open up and talk about all the hidden things. Bella slowly opened up and did the same.
When Bella read part of the letter that she delivered to Luke, she couldn’t believe it. Was Luke opening up to her all a game? A lie? Bella did the one thing she knew she could do. She ran. But, Luke followed her. Luke didn’t let Bella get away.
Another fantastic story in this series. Short, quickly read, insta-love story with the feels.
Hothead (Love Burns Series) by Isobel Reed. This is the 4th book in the Love Burns series and its so good. They can be read as a standalone but i always recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the story and characters. This one is about Luke who is a hot, single fireman who has always been let down in love. Luke is a player who loves one night stands with no attachments. He has learned that everyone leaves so why should he allow them inside his heart. Bella arrives in town to deliver a letter to Luke from his estranged brother, Marcus, and answer any questions he may have. When Bella and Luke meet the chemistry is electric and they can't hold back forever. Marcus and Bella were best friends and she is still devastated that he has passed. Will Bella let her guard down and give in to Luke for a one night stand. Will that one night stand be enough. This is such a fun, sexy read that I read it in one sitting. This is such a fun series.
Bella comes to Woodvalley Pines to deliver a letter for her best friend that has passed away. This brings her face to face with Luke. Luke is a firefighter that is definitely not in the market for a relationship...he stays as far away from those as he can. So, when Bella delivers the letter from his estranged brother, he can't help himself but to want her for a one night stand. Bells wants to be there to answer any questions that Luke might have...but she can't deny the attraction between them. Knowing that whatever time they share together is only temporary, she gives in. But, what happens if this could be more than a fling?!?
I enjoyed both of these characters. Luke is a brooding bachelor and Bella is witty and sassy. The sparks are bright between these two...as is their banter. Watching as they went from hook-ups to the realization that it might be more was quite entertaining. Another good story in this series!
This is 4th book of this series of stories, and I think I’ve read all but book 1 and I just love all the ones I’ve read including this one! This one is about Luke and Bella. Bella shows up where Luke works to deliver a letter with the intention to make sure he’s ok for a little while after (however long that’s needed) and then leave but it becomes more than either could have ever imagined. Luke is a closed off guy and just opens up around her and it’s sweet and realistic to me because most people are stuck in their stubborn ways until they meet someone that helps them to open up and heal. And Bella is dealing with a loss and they both just help each other without knowing that’s how it will go. Definitely read to get the details of the whole story but I always enjoy these and will continue to read anything from this author because I like the way she writes and just love the stories in general.
At this point, I am officially a big Isobel Reed fan, from the first series and now this one! This is the final book installment of the Love Burns Series and it was definitely worth completing it. Reed has the reputation of taking heroic and community important male figures and through strong female leads with a mix of adventure, steamy attraction, and some drama thrown in the mix. Some of these story backgrounds are so realistic, comical and endearing. Reed leaves her readers on the edge of their seat with what comes next in her stories. In this final story, it focuses on Luke, a firefighter who hasn’t been big on commitments, until Bella comes into the picture. Bella had one simple task over dropping off something and was supposed to leave but was drawn in Woodvalley Pines. Readers can enjoy this selection as a stand alone but it is so worth the read of the previous ones in series to know other characters and experience more hot and heavy scenes.
This is another steamy, heartfelt addition to this author’s ever-entertaining romance catalog, and as a long-time fan of her work, I can confidently say this series is one of my favorites. The chemistry between Luke and Bella crackles from their very first meeting. The author’s signature witty dialogue and emotionally complex characters make the story both fun and unexpectedly touching. Luke's transformation from a one-night-only bachelor to someone grappling with real feelings adds depth to his character, while Bella’s inner conflict about staying or leaving feels relatable and real. Their banter is hilarious, the tension delicious, and the small-town setting adds cozy charm. I especially appreciated how the author balanced steamy moments with emotional stakes, making the romance feel earned. The book had me grinning, swooning, and rooting for these two the whole way through. If you're a fan of sassy heroines, sexy heroes, and second chances, this is an absolute must-read!
This is the fourth book in this series which I enjoyed reading. This is a series that just keeps getting better and better with each book. I enjoy this author’s writing style and their ability to pull me into the character’s world with ease. This is a well written story about Bella and Luke. Their story is one that has an expiration date and a romance that was not expected. I enjoyed these characters and what they brought to the story. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout which made their story easy to read. Their attraction and chemistry was great throughout and kept me wanting to see if they would get their HEA they deserved. I found this book to be a fast paced, engaging, hard to put down story. This is one you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this series.
Bella lost her best friend and is doing him one final favor. She is in Woodvalley Pines to deliver a letter to Luke Capelli. She thinks it will be quick and easy but Luke has other plans. Luke Capelli is a hot-headed firefighter who is the ultimate bachelor. He doesn't like to get too close so that he isn't disappointed when they leave. Bella is different. The more time they spend together the more they seem to open up to one another. Although they have an agreement to have fun while Bella is im town, when the time is up neither of them want to give up this new relationship. It seems that Luke has finally met his match. Although this book is part of a series it can be read on its own. All of the books have been enjoyable to it is hard to pick a favorite. I am looking forward to seeing which man from Woodvalley Pines is the next to get his story.
Luke and Bella are sweet together. They both have had a rough go at life and have overcome the hurdles thrown at them. Their meeting is all because of Luke’s brother but their love is because they finally found each other, and in talking were able to open up about their pasts. All of their stores are heartbreaking, and by all I am including Luke’s brother Marco. The circumstances in which Marco passes are just terrible but it seems he always had love for his little brother Luke. Bella and Luke are in love and anyone can tell but because of her trust issues she pushes Luke away. I really liked the ending the most and I can’t wait to read Wade and Riley’s story, I was hoping for a woman for Wade!
This is book 4 in the Love Burns series. It is a cute story that was easy to read, without even having read the entire series. I was able to understand and follow this storyline as each book is its own adventure. Already looking to read the others in this series.
Our main character Luke is a hotheaded firefighter with hidden feelings about life and those people in his life. Luke has an easy time having one-night stands while not having relationships or feelings. Bella is a friend of a family member that Luke didn't know too much about. Bella is even tempered but Luke seems to bring out her sassiness more often than not. When these two come together they are hot headed, sassy and sexy together!
5 Stars Hothead (Love Burns Series Book 4) By Isobel Reed
Hothead is the fourth book in the Love Burns Series is a Contemporary Romance that once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. I’m a fan of this author and their style of writing and attention to detail. This one may just be my favorite yet. This is Luke and Bella's story. Both have had rough pasts but can they overcome that and see Love isn’t so bad after all? They have great chemistry between them. This story had me on a emotional rollercoaster ride but was so worth it. I don’t want to give anything away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. Im eagerly waiting for more books to read by this author.
