Thank you to New Harbinger Publications for the gifted copy 🤍📚

This is not a “love and light” book. It is a sit-with-yourself, get-honest, maybe cry a little, maybe write things you didn’t want to admit kind of book. And I mean that in the best way.

Shadow Work for Core Wounds goes straight at the deeper layers, the stuff underneath the coping, the patterns, the “I’m fine” energy. Instead of trying to reframe everything into something positive, it actually gives space for pain to exist, be named, and be understood. That alone makes it stand out.

What worked really well
• Rejects toxic positivity and actually validates difficult emotions 🖤
• Encourages slow, intentional healing instead of quick fixes
• The archetype framework gives structure without feeling rigid
• Feels safe, like you’re being guided, not pushed
• Works really well alongside journaling or reflection ✍️

One of the strongest aspects is how it reframes the “shadow.” It’s not something to fix or hide, it’s something to understand. That shift alone can change how you approach your own patterns. The tone is compassionate without being overly soft, it doesn’t avoid hard truths, but it also doesn’t shame you for them.

It also feels very practical in a quiet way. Not checklist-y, not “do this and you’ll be healed,” but more like here are tools, here is language, now sit with it and see what comes up. That pacing matters with a book like this.

Things to know going in
• This is emotionally heavy, not something you speed through 😅
• Best read slowly, ideally with a journal
• Leans spiritual, but in a grounded, introspective way
• You’ll get more out of it if you’re ready to be honest with yourself

Overall, this feels like a companion for deeper inner work rather than a surface-level self-help read. It won’t “fix” anything overnight, but it gives you the space and tools to start actually understanding yourself in a more real, less filtered way.

If you’re tired of surface healing and want something that meets you where you actually are, this one hits 🌑

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Ora’s new release! This must-read helped guide me through my core wounds in a way that made me feel safe and able to honor my life experiences without shame. Rather than labeling the shadow as something negative, Ora reminds us that this is a part of us that needs to be acknowledged. This perspective allowed me to view my shadow, not as a failure, but as a place where healing could begin. Each chapter was intentional, making heavy, emotional concepts easier to sit with. It did not rush me toward healing, but gave me permission that allowed me to feel comfortable to slow down and explore the deeper layers of my being with honesty and compassion. It does not shy away from the pain, it guides you toward self compassion and empowerment. One of my favorite quotes from her book was “…the most powerful shadow is the one whose truth and origin is dealt with and healed”. This quote stood out because it reflects my belief that true self healing comes from facing the truth was compassion, not avoiding it. This idea resonated deeply with my own journey, reminding me that facing where my pain came from allows real growth to happen and healing will make me whole. Overall, Shadow Work for Core Wounds felt like a quiet conversation with myself. It helped me sit with my pain without judgment and taught me healing begins when I allow every part of me to be seen and understood. This book will stay with me as a reminder that my shadows are not something to fear, but something to hold with compassion.

This book will become your trusted companion book, even for the seasoned energy workers out there. I felt like one of my closest allies was sitting next to me personally guiding me through each chapter. Ora has a beautiful way with words and in this book showed an ability to take the deep, dank aspects of human emotions and turn them into a welcome feeling that you are then able to process and understand. She and her books are a priceless resource in my opinion. Highly recommend this book!

I loved the set up of the book and how you suggested to read with a notebook or journal. I found that to be just what I needed so I could record my thoughts in real time.
