It takes a strong omega to be mated to the dragon clan leader and mine is the strongest— he is also a mouse.
After my mate died, I tried to do it all. I provided, I cooked, I cleaned, I took the kids to school. All my kids are grown and now having children of their own.
Now that I have grandchildren, I’m not wasting a single moment. I’ll provide my son with the help I never had.
A houseful of dragon shifter children needs a strong manny, one who can handle an accidental shift here or there, one who won’t cower to me just because I’m the dragon clan leader. I never expected that person to be a mouse shifter, but here Ollie is, sliding into our lives seamlessly.
Despite his incredible looks, amazing personality, and the way he adores my grandchildren, I try to keep things professional. He works for my son. Technically he also works for the dragon clan that I lead. And besides, he deserves to find his fated mate, not to be hooking up with and old dragon like me.
Ollie doesn’t agree, telling me I’m his mate and he can prove. I can’t wait to see how.

When love crashes into duty, even a dragon can lose his cool.
Malric, a widowed dragon clan leader, is all about responsibility and control until Ollie, a clever mouse shifter with a knack for childcare, steps into his life. Hired as a manny to care for Malric’s rambunctious grandkids, Ollie brings more than just patience and playdates. He brings joy, healing, energy and warmth to the household. What starts as mutual respect quickly turns into something deeper, forcing both men to confront past grief, the risk of new love, and what it means to build a future together.
Malric’s duty has always come first, but Ollie challenges that, showing him that vulnerability doesn't mean weakness. As their bond deepens and things heat up, they face clan politics, shifting roles, and the life-changing surprise of an unexpected pregnancy. Through it all, Ollie proves he's more than just the hired help. He's a partner, a leader, and a fierce protector of the ones he loves.
Malric starts as a guarded, duty-bound leader weighed down by grief, while Ollie arrives confident in his caregiving skills but uncertain about his place in a world so different from his own. Over time, Malric softens and opens himself to vulnerability, and Ollie steps into a role of influence and strength without losing his warmth.
Their relationship shifts from cautious attraction to deep emotional partnership, built on trust, shared responsibilities, and mutual respect. They grow together, learning to balance love, leadership, and the chaos of family life.
A sweet and steamy, age gap, grumpy sunshine, fated mates, MM shifter romance, with mpreg, exploring love across differences, found family, second chances, grief, healing, identity, self-worth, parenthood, clan politics, emotional growth, acceptance, trust, power, and vulnerability.
I'm loving this Heat Prey Love series and this romance was a wonderful addition to it. This age gap romance that had an unusual mate pairing...dragon and a mouse??? But it was cute and sweet. Major fluffy but with a little conflict that didn't deter from the sweetness of the pairing. I enjoyed Mal and Ollie's journey to HEA...it was rocky in the beginning...trust had to be earned...and Mal was such sweetheart and romantic...he wooed to death his sweet mouse. I recommend if you love sweet romances.

A really quick easy fluffy read. Ollie, a mouse shifter goes to work for the son of the local leader of the Dragon Clan. When Mal comes to visit his grandkids, the 2 realize they are mates. There is no angst just an accepting happy family.
The Manny's Fiery Dragon Bond is part of the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy the whole series. I loved this pairing of a dragon shifter and a mouse shifter because it's different but it works. I love the characters and how they come to be a couple. I love second chance for love stories and this one was really good. I would definitely recommend this book and series.
Malric is a 500 year old dragon, head of his clan, widower, father of 3 dragon sons, and grandfather to 3 young dragonets. Ollie is a twenty-something mouse shifter, single, and the newly hired manny for Malric’s grandbabies. At their initial meeting, both inner beasts are excited to feel a connection, even though Malric tries to ignore it as inappropriate with Ollie feeling the same. But, the Goddess won’t be denied, the two are fated mates, and nature takes its course after a hiccup or two. Despite some age and species discrimination from some clan members, Ollie makes himself fit in, all while carrying Malric’s new clutch as they navigate their way in an unusual situation to the HEA.
Really cute treatment of the age gap, size difference, and species match-up of these two characters, along with a complicated family dynamic for Ollie as step-father to 150 year old sons and grandfather to 1 year old grandchildren, not to mention unexpected wings as a bonus. There is humor and sadness as well as an innate sweetness to Ollie in the way he handles the babies and also encourages Malric to make sure that his first love is not forgotten with his sons and grandchildren. The scene at the mausoleum brought me to tears, it was so poignant and a very good example of the caring nature that came naturally to Ollie. Just a feel-good story about love and loss, new hope for the future, family and responsibility, and a bit of whimsy with a huge dragon mated to a mouse - just thinking of the family portrait in their animal forms makes me 😀. A light hearted, fairly short afternoon read that I would recommend if you enjoy dragons and this author in particular.

This book is part of the multi-author Heat, Prey. Love series. Each book is a standalone read. I really enjoyed this book. It is a cute and sweet story. This is the story of Ollie and Malric. Ollie is an omega mouse shifter. Ollie is hired to be the Manny for Kier and Tavian three triplets. While slowly becoming accustomed to the world of dragons, he is a wonder with the children. Malric is a widowed alpha dragon shifter and Clan Leader. He too has three sons and Tavian is one of them. When he pops by to spend time with his grandchildren, the two of them meet. Both are entranced by each other. Soon it becomes obvious that the two are mates. At least it becomes obvious to Ollie. Malric, believing that he can only ever has one mate. is slow on the uptake and unintentionally hurts Ollie's feelings. Once Malric figures things out, he some serious explaining to do to Ollie. Not to mention, rebuilding what was becoming a wonderful relationship. This is their story. I really loved this book. I was completely amused by the idea of a dragon and mouse together. This is such a sweet story. I highly recommend for an afternoon read when you need a warm hug.

The Manny's Fiery Dragon Bond is a standalone omegaverse m-preg romance by the writing team Jena Wade and Lorelei M Hart. This is part of a multiauthor collaboration called Heat, Prey, Love.
This story brings together mouse shifter omega Ollie and the very serious dragon shifter alpha, Malric. Ollie and Malric meet each other because Ollie got a job being as the manny to Malric's mischevious triplet grandchildren. Malric lost the mate who was the omega father to his three grown children, and the thought that he could have another mate is something that confuses and terrifies him in equal measure. Ollie on the other hand is excited when he realises that he has a mate, even if his mate could crush his animal quite literally.
I must admit, I'm a bit of a fangirl of any book that has Lorelei M Hart involved, and will read it without thinking twice and barely looking at the blurb. I just really love the style of this writing team as well. Sweetness, lots of spice, opposites attract, family and cute kiddos. It just makes me happy to read this book.

🔥 One grumpy dragon grandpa. One fearless mouse manny. One fated bond neither can deny. 🔥
The Manny’s Fiery Dragon Bond is a heart-melting, laugh-out-loud sweet-with-heat MM Mpreg shifter romance that delivers everything you love about opposites attract stories—with extra baby dragons, emotional healing, and a swoon-worthy age gap.
Malric is a widowed alpha and the powerful leader of the dragon shifter clan. After raising his children alone, he’s determined to be the support his son needs as a new father. What he doesn’t expect is for the new manny—a tiny but tenacious mouse shifter named Ollie—to completely upend his life… and his heart.
Ollie may be small, but he’s fierce, fabulous, and totally unfazed by the chaos of half-shifted baby dragons. The moment he meets Malric, he knows what no one else seems to: Malric is his fated mate.
Malric resists, convinced he’s he doesn’t get a second mate. But Ollie’s ready to prove that love isn’t about size, species, or status—it’s about showing up, being strong, and embracing your bond.

This story is so good. Mal and Ollie were so cute together. This is such a feel good story in a great world and with great characters. Mal is the dragon clan leader who lost his mate and has been living a half life with his kids and grandchildren the only things that bring him happiness. Ollie is a mouse manny who has come to help take care of the triplets. There is tension at the beginning because they are attracted, but Ollie is an employee of Mal’s son, plus Mal thinks he lost his one and only mate. That he won’t get another. I like how they deal with Mal’s grief, the family, work, and clan dynamics, plus Ollie’s needs as a mouse and new mate. Their journey and bond was so fun to watch. Mal was great at protecting and courting Ollie. The triplets were great too. I really wanted the scene using the basket, but I can just imagine the cuteness. This is a great story that I recommend. I can’t wait for more stories.
Malric lost his mate years ago but he raised his children alone then became clan leader. Travian his son and mate were needing help with their triplets so they hired Ollie a mouse for their manny and loved his job with the children. Malric couldn’t figure why his dragon wanted to be with Ollie when they met, he already had his mate that died. One weekend his son and mate were going to be gone so asked Malric to kind of watch in case Ollie needed help and gave into their feelings but the next morning Malric denied that Ollie could be his mate as he already had his. Ollie wanted nothing to do with him, Malric called a friend and was told that Ollie could definitely be his second chance mate. Took Ollie awhile to forgive him but worked out.

The Manny's Fiery Dragon Bond is Jena Wade and Lorelei Fart's contribution to the multi author Heat, Prey, Love series. It's a manny falls for the boss story with a couple of twists. The manny falls for the grandfather of his charges. And the manny is an omega mouse shifter amongst dragons. Mal and Ollie make a cute opposites atract pair. Mal's older and grumpy whereas Ollie is vibrant. The book is a quick read. It contains the usual, a nest and a baby egg. Mal lost the omega father of his children to a lingering illness. And Ollie never expected a mate. This gives the story a tiny bit of angst, keeping it from being too saccharine.

This is book eleven in the author’s Heat, Prey, Love series and features Malric, the leader of the Emberstone dragons clan and his grandchildren’s manny, mouse shifter, Ollie.
This was such a sweet book; it touched on so many topics like personal loss, the importance of recognizing the place your mate’s previous mate still has in their life, acceptance of others not necessarily like you and of course, lots of adorable babies. Admittedly, it contained less heat than some of the author’s other books but it was so good you didn’t really miss it—and that’s from someone who lives for the heat! An easy book to recommend, 4.5 stars!!!.

"He was my boss’s father and getting a crush on him was the last thing I needed to be doing."
What a great story set in the Dragon Flight Academy world by Jena Wade and the writing duo of Lorelei M Hart. When I saw this pop up on Booksprout I couldn't wait to grab it, I love all the new dragon books these authors are putting together.
What fun it was to see Ash and Zayne from The Dragon's Flamebound Mate and Tavian and Kier from Flight Risk. I read both of them recently enough that I remembered who they were, old age brain for the win.
Death of a prior mate, age gap, opposites attract, predator/prey shifter fated mate combo, meggs, cute babies
I had a great time reading this book. The fact that Ollie is not the manny in Malric's house but in his son's was refreshing, I think it was the first book with manny in the title where the MC doesn't end in a relationship within the family where he lives and works. The story is well written, both MCs are well developed and the way their relationship grows is very organic. The secondary cast is amazing, with the three little ones adding some cuteness and the grown up sons making the relationship feel more real. I really enjoyed it!.

Of all the shifter combinations I have read this one was the most unusual. A mouse shifter omega who is manny to the grandchildren of a dragon shifter who seems to think he past the bloom time in his life. Ollie came to help Mal's son with his triplets. Their attraction is instant but that they hesitate. There is the fact that Mal is Ollie's boss' dad. It is good that Ollie is strong and a nurturer as he needs to help Mal move past his grief and embrace this opportunity for a second act with love. In this case the mouse is just as protective of the dragon as the dragon is of the mouse. Lovely.

I really enjoyed the story of Malric and Ollie. I loved that when Ollie came for an interview to be the manny for Malric’s grandbabies and how they were both attracted to each other and didn’t realise until their hot spicy evening that they were mates. Mal found it hard to comprehend because he had already had a mate who had passed on . Their relationship was a little bumpy at first, but eventually it all worked out, and they went on to live happily ever after.

Part of the Heat, Prey, Love series, this novel centers on a widowed dragon clan leader struggling to manage his chaotic household of early-shifting grandchildren. Enter Ollie, a resilient mouse shifter hired as the manny, who brings order and warmth to the family. Despite their differences, an undeniable attraction sparks between the stoic alpha and the spirited omega, leading to a fated mate connection that neither can ignore.

I absolutely loved this book! Great world building and wonderful characters. I LOVED the idea of a dragon and a mouse shifter as mates! Talk about size difference! lol I loved both Ollie and Malric. I liked the dynamic between them. Mal thought he would always be alone after losing his mate, and that grief made him more relatable (and so much deserving of love!). Mouse shifter Ollie as a Manny to triplet dragon children was amusing, cute, and impressive all at once. I loved the way their relationship developed. It was a beautiful journey and romance. 5 stars.
Yes, I love to grab every story about a single dad falling for their Manny. Malric and Ollie were so cute with that naughty boss's dad vibe too. My favorite part was seeing how excited Ollie was that he got to have a mate. Malric getting a second chance at love and family with someone so unexpected was sweet too. Oh, and Meggs. I prefer the egg scenario in these types of situations. Loved the simple story opposites and different species attract with nice chemistry and good guys
Ollie is a sweet mouse shifter. He's definitely up to the task of keeping his employer's teenagers in line as their manny Malric is the teens grandfather and we soon find Ollie's mate. It takes some time and convincing for Malric to come around because he doesn't believe that he could be so lucky to have found two mates in his lifetime. Ollie, however is determined and won't take no for an answer. The teens were a great comedic source.
Amazingly sweet! Mal, Clan leader, is a widower and a GrandFather. He's dedicated to his Family, committed to his Clan and believes he won't be getting a mate. Ollie, is a manny who happens to be a mouse shifter. He believes Mal to be his mate. The journey to develooping and demonstrating the mate bond is exciting and fun. Great story with totally sweet characters. Well done! I received na ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mal and Ollie are an unexpected match due to their shifter beasts and place in the world. However not due to their characters; both caregivers all the way. This fated MM pairing find their family extended with a unique baby. Cute quick read, both strong characters with a loving supportive cast of characters around them.

I was excited to read Malric and Ollie's story. I had already read Tavian and Kier's book. Malric was the head of his clan and had lost his mate almost a century ago. Ollie was a mouse shifter that became a Manny for Malric grand babies. When Ollie told him they were mates he didn't believe it was possible. But it was.

This book is so cute and a Mouse and a Dragon pairing is so unique, but it makes sense. I highly recommend this book if you love a second chance at love and Manny tropes. I love how they spoke and never forgot about Mal first mate, but was still able to grow as a couple.

Ollie and Malric were completely adorable together. Malric may not have initially believed fate would gift him twice with a mate in his lifetime and it takes him a bit to realize the truth. Ollie is not intimidated by the dragon at all. This was highly enjoyable to read.

I enjoyed this story and absolutely loved Ollie I think he is the perfect mate for Maleic. I enjoyed how inclusive the clan and especially Mal’s family were and they the connection they had with one another, it was also so cute the way the children interacted with their aunt. I really liked this lovely sweet low angst story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is a very cute story. I liked the mating between Ollie and Malric. It was great how Ollie stepped into the role of Malric's mate with all the duties that were included. I liked how they honored Malric's first mate who had passed.
This is another good addition to this multi-author series. Ollie and Malric may seem like an odd pairing due to their beasts but they turn out to be perfect for each other. I enjoyed their story and I appreciated that their daughter was a cute "blend" of both of them.
My attention was captured and held from start to finish by this book of characters the spark between them sizzled with chemistry and a unique connection to each other and throw in the dragon theme made for some entertaining reading.
