The Groupieverse expands yet again as author Ginger Voight returns you to the glitz and glamor, love and passion of the rich and famous in her 35th full length novel, complete with all the angst and emotional gut punches you’ve come to expect.
Big secrets. Big temptations. Welcome to the world of Infamous.
Ginger Voight is a screenwriter and bestselling author with over twenty published titles in fiction and nonfiction. She covers everything from travel to politics in nonfiction, as well as romance, paranormal, and dark, “ripped from the headlines” topics like Dirty Little Secrets.
Ginger discovered her love for writing in sixth grade, courtesy of a Halloween assignment. From then on, writing became a place of solace, reflection, and security. This was never more true than when she found herself homeless in L.A. at the age of nineteen. There, she wrote her first novel, longhand on notebook paper, while living out of her car.
In 1995, after she lost her nine-day-old son, she worked through her grief by writing the story that would eventually become The Fullerton Family Saga.
In 2011, she embarked on a new journey—to publish romance novels starring heroines who look more like the average American woman. These "Rubenesque" romances have developed a following thanks to her bestselling Groupie series. Other titles, such as the highly-rated New Adult series, Fierce, tap into the "reality-TV" preoccupation in American entertainment, which gives her contemporary stories a current, pop culture edge.
Known for writing gut-twisting angst, Ginger isn’t afraid to push the envelope with characters who are perfectly imperfect. Whether rich, poor, sweet, selfish, gay, straight, plus-size or svelte, her characters are beautifully flawed and three-dimensional. They populate her lavish fictional landscapes and teach us more about the real world in which we live simply through their interactions with each other. Ginger’s goal with every book is to give the reader a little bit more than they were expecting, told through stories they'll never forget.
Infamous is not my first Ginger Voight book but it has been awhile and now I do not understand what took me so long to discover this author again! With Infamous, Voight delivers a slow and sexy, friends to lovers story about a #1 pop star and an equally famous movie star.
When Chan and Theo have their first run in at Chan's 35th birthday party, the sparks are there but both of them, especially Chan, are not at a place to do something about it. A few months later, and thanks to some sinister (HaHa) mommas, Chan and Theo are once again put together and the sparks are just as noticeable. However, their fame and past make moving forward a difficult decision to make so a friendship is formed in secret and what becomes of that is anyone's guess (I am not spoiling it!).
Gotta say, in Voight's intro to the book, she gives a little background to where the story was born from and I can honestly see it. Gave me the gooey feels that I hope you get to experience by reading Infamous.

I enjoyed this celebrity romance by a new to me author who takes the reader on a journey into the celebrity world of appearances and reality. The plot is action-packed and fast-paced, the romance between Chan and Theo a slow burn with a few mild or fade-out love scenes. What I particularly liked was that as a reader you also experience the dark side of fame and success: the hard work behind it and the hardships you have to make, the prejudices, false reports, the compulsion to pretend, the effort and necessity to keep your private life secret in order to protect yourself and your loved ones... The story is written from the FMC POV, her frustration and heartache is palpable. There were a few scenes that teared me up and others that made me really angry.
Channing "Chan" Grace, pop princess, meets the older and handsome actor Theo Shepard on her 35th birthday in Vegas, but as she is still recovering from her break-up with her ex, also a well-known actor who cheated on her with his co-star, Chan turns Theo down. She meets her ex and Theo again at the Oscar Gala, where she and her ex both win Oscars for a former mutual project. The paparazzi believe there is a reunion between her and her ex, but Theo rescues her from an awkward situation. A friendship develops between them and despite their mutual attraction, they decide to take their time until Chan can trust Theo and her reputation is not ruined...
Overall, a moving and interesting story that I am happy to recommend!
I received a free ARC of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own and left voluntarily.
Infamous by Ginger Voight is a compelling, slow-burn celebrity romance that blends the glitz of fame with the rawness of emotional vulnerability. The story follows pop diva Channing "Chan" Grace and notorious playboy Theo Shepherd as they navigate the highs and lows of a relationship under constant media scrutiny. Voight peels back the glossy surface of stardom to reveal two deeply scarred individuals searching for something real amid the chaos of their public lives. With heartfelt dialogue, simmering chemistry, and just enough drama to keep you hooked, Infamous is a captivating read for fans of character-driven romance and red-carpet angst. This was my first Ginger Voight book, but I will definitely be looking further into her works.

This author writes a story in tribute to her daughter in law, of her passion for Taylor Swift, and learning about more than just her music. She writes a story of a struggling artist who gains fame and fortune, receives and loses love, believes in people and gets burned.
A nice little story of music, life, fame, and the price that comes with it.

This was such a huge surprise for me. I won it on goodreads, and while I expected it to be good, I did not expect it to completely demolish my heart the way it did. It really does open your eyes to the life of a female celebrity, and making sure to take things with a grain of salt. Also the writing was so beautiful. It pulled you in right away and had you eating up every word. Just a beautiful love story!
4⭐ This was my first Ginger Voight book and I devoured this so fast. Channing's relationship with Theo shows the raw and unseen side/struggles of fame and the decisions you have to make to keep your private life secret in order to protect the ones you love. I was not expecting this book to be so heartbreaking... but I was lowkey ugly crying towards the end.
Pop star x Actor Friends to lovers
