My new favorite book - it has completely transformed my perspective on childbirth. Incredibly practical and reassuring, I cannot recommend this book enough to anyone who ever plans to give birth at any point. Regardless of your feelings about birth, or your perspective on faith, it’s incredibly educational and empowering.

I LOVED how practical this book was and am excited to put into practice what I learned. I think with every faith and birth book, I don’t want to take everything as 100% truth and felt there were some parts of this book that didn’t seem realistic (at least for me!). But overall I feel this book gave me lots of confidence and peace in my upcoming labor choices

It’s hard to overstate just how helpful and comprehensive this book is for an expectant mama. Educational without being overwhelming or fear-inducing, Tara shares her faith and vast knowledge in ways that are saturated with Scripture, personal experiences, and encouraging birth stories. She lays out options for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in ways that are clear and easy to understand, without judgement. Would highly recommend to anyone preparing for birth! Even though this will be my third labor, this book empowered me and helped me turn away from fear of birth and toward the presence and strength of Christ who is always with me.

Very informative. Slightly overwhelming, but I guess in a good way. I didn’t know what I didn’t know. I appreciate the emphasis on the “mind over matter” concept, and the biological breakdown of the role of hormones and how they are affected by our mindset, in turn greatly impacting the birth process.

I found this book so encouraging and affirming as I prepare for birth and am definitely incorporating the scripture and affirmations she walks through as I work on relaxation practices that will help me to work with my body through labor.

4.5 stars rounded up! A great, informative, beautiful read. I wish I had read this before my first two births. I hope to carry the wisdom and knowledge of all of this into my following births as well!

As a As a Christian mother and a Registered Nurse/Certified Childbirth Educator, I wholeheartedly recommend this book to every expectant mother I encounter. Tara is an exceptionally talented author who offers a comprehensive guide on preparing for childbirth. She emphasizes God's promises and beautifully illustrates what Scripture says about the birthing experience, reminding us that we were designed for beautiful births. Additionally, she incorporates the scientific and physiological aspects of childbirth in a clear and accessible manner that is easy to comprehend. This book is an essential reading for anyone anticipating the arrival of their child (even if it is not your first!) the sense of calm you will experience after just the first few chapters is truly inspiring!

A must-read for Christian Parents approaching birth!
This book is an incredible resource for anyone wanting to learn about how God designed our bodies to have babies, and a really helpful, balanced approach to inviting God in, and involving faith in the journey. It also provides a sound and balanced antenatal education and addresses all the areas important to consider, for pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I would wholeheartedly recommend it (and as a Christian doula, will certainly be signposting my clients to it!) and wish a resource like this was around when I was pregnant with my own children. A priority for the pregnancy book list!

Incredible book! I’ve read and have watched a lot of birth related content. This book was written in such a wonderful way that it brought those things together for me. I would recommend the read even if you have read other related books because it has something special. It not only encouraged me for my upcoming birth but it also filled me with thankfulness and joy in my faith. Tara’s faith comes out in such a beautiful way. She is non judge mental with whatever choice you might take but informs of both routes. She states of course she is biased but encourages mamas in whichever they choose. That is something special. 💯 happy I’ve purchased this book, birth class, and app.

Love love loved this. As a Christian who is preparing for my first birth, I found this so educational, evidence based, and empowering. I think that regardless of your faith, an expecting mother could still get so much out of this but this book includes many Bible verses and references to God. If Christianity isn't necessarily part of your life, I would urge you to read this with an open mind. I felt that Tara did a wonderful job of providing both sides to many pregnancy/birth decisions and was non-judgemental in how she wrote this. If I'm blessed to have future babies, I will 100% reread this and will recommend this to all my friends

I can’t recommend this book enough! It was so helpful to me throughout my pregnancy and labor with my second child. Listening to the app throughout labor brought me so much comfort and brought me so much closer to the Lord! It really helped me to relax during contractions. Due to unexpected events, I ended up needed a C-section and was so thankful there was a track to listen to for that! I am so grateful to have had these tools to use and would highly recommend this book as well as the Christian Hypnobirthing App. God Bless!!

This is a great book for any Christian who is pregnant or wanting to have children in the near future. I had avoided hypno-birthing during my first pregnancy because it sounded strange and I didn’t understand that it not actually being “hypnotized”. It equips you to know how to mentally prepare your mind and spirit for pregnancy, birth and postpartum— something severely lacked in my homebirth. This is exactly the resource I was looking for to help me prepare for any and all future labors I endure. Looking forward to getting her app and seeing the difference it makes in my next pregnancy.

AMAZING

I think every mother should read this book. Even if they are done having children. Tara makes so many amazing points that got really hard. I am so excited to give birth soon and feel so much more confident going into it. I’m also looking forward to applying some of her parenting talk with the baby as well as my other 3 children. Coming out of this book ready to improve my relationship with my Savior.

Although I am not pregnant nor will I be anytime soon. I have been searching for books around childbirth before hopefully studying midwifery. I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a more faith filled childbirth but also anyone just wanting to understand how so many different things affect the way women birth. I will be reading this again when/if the time comes for me to have a child and will be recommending to all my friends who will have babies.

Highly recommend if you are pregnant and wanting to prepare your mind & spirit for birth! I learned so much and feel ready and excited to labor and birth my baby in a few short weeks. This book is not just for women wanting natural unmedicated births - there’s tons of practical tools to utilize for any birth that can take place. The app that goes along with it is great too!

Faith-Filled Childbirth completely transformed my heart and mind around pregnancy, birth, and the overall journey to become a mom. It was published during my pregnancy and it was a beautiful answer to prayer alongside the Christian Hypnobirthing app and course. I appreciate the love, care, and wisdom Tara has infused into this book.

I am a mother of two, currently pregnant with my third. This book was so helpful and explored topics I had never heard of (ie FER). I use the Christian Hypno Birthing app and have now also taken the course. I am so grateful for this resource and Tara’s transparency about her own births. I cannot recommend this book enough!

This book was a helpful resource as I go into birthing my second child. It brought a faith perspective to birth without being judgmental toward different ways of birthing a child. With a holistic and physiological approach to birth, I feel more prepared and would highly recommend this book to other moms-to-be.

This is a wonderful resource for explaining the natural events of childbirth and how to think about childbirth in a faith-filled way! For me, understanding the physiological changes that occur helps me feel less stressed, and this book further emphasized that the more relaxed you can be during birth, the better. I especially love that everything is explained through the lens of faith.

Encouraging read. Loved the beginning about the impact of words and how it can affect your pregnancy and birthing experience. The end had a lot of info I’m already informed of, so it was a quicker read for me.

But hands down the most impactful book I’ve read for child birth so far (and honestly just how to cope with hard things in life) and honestly so sad I just found it! Could NOT recommend this book enough

Audiobook. I was hopeful this would be more helpful. Most of the pregnancy/labor/birth stuff I also got in my natural birth class at the hospital. A lot of the verses were sort of taken out of context, but I do like the premise of focusing on biblical truth during labor.

"The discomfort of pregnancy prepares us for the discomfort of birth, and the discomfort of birth prepares us for the discomfort of motherhood....Pregnancy requires us to stretch. Birth requires us to shatter. Postpartum requires us to the sort through the pieces and rebuild."
