Sara Latta is the author of seventeen books for children and young adults on topics that include dark matter, the secret life of microbes, DNA, bones, and forensic science. She also has a masters degree in immunology. She does have a bit of a phobia about heights, as she discovered when faced with having to climb down from a pyramid in Teotihuacan, Mexico.
This book is super informational about what is taking place with our wildlife, plants, the weather (such as ice and snow,) what people do during winter, and even covers what hibernation is. I also love this book because it contains a fun experiment in the back that is "A salty solution to icy streets," which I think is adorable and students would be so excited to try that!
