I read this book after my grandmother lent it to me from the library. I discovered from my mother that it was one of my great grandmother’s favorites. Feeling so connected to the women of my family now, in our Indiana and Michigan nature.
Another very good book! A classic that reminded me of Anne of Green Gables! Such good character arks!! And I loved how Elnora found out "like the Solomon of her day" that her 'love' was actually serious about his feelings.
Ok. Some parts were interesting and I did enjoy the occasional banter between her mom and uncle, but all in all what a waste of time. Outdated and boring. I would rather watch paint dry. It would have gotten 0 star if it weren't for Elnora's and Edith's row near the end. Now that was entertaining.
