This year the town of Winterberry Hollow will celebrate 100 years of the Christmas Festival. Maggie Carter and Tom Morgan, whose families were among the founders of the town, are co-chairing the celebration which will kick off the festival the night before. Maggie handles the people and vendors while Tom handles the logistics, which includes the decorations, music equipment and food. Both are single, and work together very well, but there is an underlying connection between them that they are trying to ignore.
When they make their final presentation about the elegant gala they planned before the community, the townspeople challenge their ideas of how they feel about the lack of connection to the families and the town’s history. Avis, who runs Fireside Books, has been garnering items from some families, including photos, letters and even business records from the early 1920’s. It’s with this realization that Maggie and Tom begin to understand that this is more than just an elegant gala, but also an historical celebration to honor the town and founders. As they work together along with other volunteers to bring the stories to life, they also delve deeper into their own families backgrounds, with surprising findings that they’ve never known. What a beautiful story for the holidays, that will make you both smile, laugh and cry at times.
Tom & James returned to Winterberry after having been away for a few years. They had left grieving Grace, their daughter & granddaughter. Grace’s husband, Ben, was a single father raising Sophie. Sophie was a precocious little girl! And very observant about things around her. Maggie was Ben’s aunt. Winterberry’s centennial celebration was being planned by the citizens of Winterberry. It seemed that everybody had historical information that connected everyone else in Winterberry! The culmination of the centennial gala revealed a romance between two individuals from rival families who both left Winterberry. Tom & Maggie had been chairing the gala & decided to give the last information on family & Winterberry history. It was apparent that Tom & Maggie were a couple in love & looked exactly like the young couple who left each other. Winterberry citizens realized Tom & Maggie were in love. Were they going to finally admit their love or were they going to take the same route & leave Winterberry or were they going to leave without admitting they were in love? You’ll have to read thus.
A perfect holiday story! Winterberry Hollow was full of excitement about another Christmas Gala. This was the centennial year, so it had to be special. To Maggie Carter and Tom Morgan, it was extra special. With the whole town looking into ancestry and getting ready for the big events, pictures were uncovered, stories told and history made. It's a great storyline with the entire town involved. Thanks for wonderful story telling.
When Maggie and Tom began researching the town’s family histories for the upcoming Centennial, countless stories came to life and lives were transformed. It was a wonderful addition to the series, with everyone in town pitching in to make the celebration a resounding success. They were committed to avoiding the mistakes of the past.
Once again Sophie is the star, but this time Tom and Maggie shine up there with her! What a wonderful storyline that took me back to my grandparents and how they first met back in late 1920's!
