I have always anticipated celebrating Christmas, but, recently, my anticipation for Easter has begun to outpace my Christmas anticipation. If you would like to place a greater emphasis on the meaning of Easter and how the events it commemorates connect us with God, this book is for you. In a clear and concise way, through scripture, inspired modern day teachings, personal experiences, and valuable insights, Dr Muhlestein explores a few events of the passion and how we can learn, apply, and internalize these events into our lives.

During His great intercessory prayer, Christ prayed ‘That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one.’ But yet, all mankind has been separated from God because of the Fall. Dr Muhlestein explains how this separation is essential for us to be unified with God. Dr Muhlestein explains how we can learn how Christ also experienced this irony, and how we can draw upon this irony in being unified with God through Christ.

Personally, I would recommend this book to anyone searching to understand God’s love, how His covenantal relationship can bless each of us, and how to become unified with God despite feelings of inadequacy, isolation, or a feeling of hopelessness.

I have just finished reading an advance copy of Kerry Muhlestein’s new book, The Easter Connection. It is a must-read for those who love Jesus Christ and the Easter story! I had so many “ah ha” moments as I pondered the connections between the sadness felt with loss, separation, and abandonment, and the last days of the Savior’s life. Those scriptures came alive to me in a whole new way. I appreciated the details of the words defined, enlarging my understanding of what the Savior endured in His Atoning Sacrifice. My love for Jesus and Heavenly Father has become deeper as I pondered all that was sacrificed and endured for us. Dr. Muhlestein offered new insights into the relationships Jesus had with his beloved apostles and the struggle Christ felt as He experienced loss, separation, abandonment, and even betrayal. This little book made me want to strengthen my relationship with Jesus, the Holy Ghost, and Heavenly Father. I highly recommend this short read for anyone who yearns to have Easter be more about Christ and less about cultural messages. You will want to read it every Easter to remind yourself of the great debt we owe Christ.

Even though this is a small booklet of 33 pages, it took me a while to read it. Dr. Muhlestein writes in a way that evokes so much contemplation and shares such profound insights that I read a bit at a time to let it sink in and process it. You can't get even a few pages in without feeling like you are seeing events of the Savior's last week as if you are there and you see them as if you are part of their culture, through their eyes and understanding. I think this booklet needs to be in every home. In just 33 pages, I feel changed, just like the woman at the well, I want to go and tell everyone what this little booklet has done for me. I know when I read the New Testament, I will have a greater appreciation and understanding that I've never had.

Libby. This was a unique book. It talked about our separation from our Father in Heaven and our feelings of abandonment. I had never really looked at our journey here on earth that way. Talked about how we all like to feel wanted and loved and how alone we feel without it and sometimes with it. Then compared to the feeling of Abandonment the Savior must have felt by his unexpected abandonment of his Father who had always been with him. What he truly had to endure for each one of us to be able to be able to return to our Loving Heavenly Father and our True Home on High. Many things to think about and comprehend. Short Powerful. .

I read this little booklet because a friend of mine sent me an education week talk by the author. I just loved his talk and this book was based on his talk. It has made Easter a lot more meaningful to me and has helped me to understand the atonement of the Savior just a little better. I am in a constant pursuit of trying to understand the atonement and little by little I am learning more each day.

An amazing way of explaining the oneness of the Godhead (the Father, the Son, Jesus Christ & the Holy Ghost) & how Jesus Christ's Atonement (the suffering in Gethsemane on the cross & His death and Resurrection) give us the opportunity to have the same oneness with the Godhead!

An wonderful & inspiring Easter message!

This was a quick read, which I liked. So many great insights about the last week of Christ's life. I especially liked the connections made about the Spirit and the necessity of separation. Kerry Muhlestein has done it again and made a great resource to learn about Christ.

A solid little 'fireside chat' on how the Savior was/is the re-connection with God after the darkness of separation. Lovely perspective.
