Though he had never thought he would be a father, Walker wants to step into the role and get to know his newly found thirteen year old daughter. He retires from the military and takes up residence in a cabin at the Wilde resort so that he and his daughter, Dakota, can have the support of extended family as they get to know each other. Though her grandparents are more than willing to take permanent custody of Dakota, Walker believes she should be with him, her father, though he intends to make sure her grandparents stay a part of her life. He understands Dakota’s profound loss, the grief and anger she is experiencing, and how scary the changes in her life must be, but interacting with a teenage girl is new to him. Thankfully, the social worker assigned to Dakota’s case is well versed in situations like this and will help guide him as he and Dakota get to know each other. Addison also happens to be his former girlfriend whom he left behind when he entered the military, the woman he has never been able to forget.

Getting to know to know each other is a learning curve for Walker and Dakota. Tumultuous emotions, teenage hormones and big changes are all part of package, but gradually, with help from Addison and his extended family, the two of them find their footing and forge a strong bond. It helps that Walker isn’t afraid or too proud to ask for help in understanding and interacting with Dakota. Their relationship and how they move forward is too important to him to go in blindly and risk making mistakes that could hurt his daughter. Of course, his Wilde cousins are there to support him and Dakota, to offer advice and to help them find their way as a family unit. Addison helps both Walker and Dakota in numerous ways. She listens to each of them, helps them communicate and encourages them to keep trying when things get difficult. At first, Addison struggles to stay professional and keep her own emotions under wraps. It soon becomes clear that she and Walker still have a connection and intense chemistry between them. The feelings they once felt for each other have returned stronger than ever, but now they have trust issues. It is Dakota, a natural matchmaker, who advises her dad to talk things out with Addison and see if they can find a way forward together.

This tender and heartwarming book has my wholehearted recommendation.

Walker Wilde has been a solitary soldier for years. While he's been back to visit the family on occasion, he left almost everything behind. Nearing the end of his contract, he's shocked to be informed that he has a teenage daughter - the product of a fling while on leave. After Dakota's mother passes away, her wish for Walker to raise their daughter is made clear. Walker, blindsided, steps up and makes the responsible choice. He retires from the military and returns to the Wilde Ski Resort, his support system, to help him achieve a new normal.

Addison, in her role of social worker, brings Dakota from her home in Virginia to the resort and facilitates first meetings with the dad she never knew. Addison also happens to be Walker's high school sweetheart. Determined to keep their new relationship professional, Addison is excellent at her job, making Walker's transition from single soldier to the father of a grief-stricken teenage daughter as painless as possible. She was incredibly hurt when what she thought was a forever romance ended brutally with Walker's enlistment.

Used to the daily routine of the military, coming home, meeting his daughter for the first time and building a new life is very unsettling for Walker. I love that he was responsible but also thoughtful about his choices regarding his daughter and their new life together. He is patient, loving and forces himself out of his solitary life to provide the family and support Dakota needs. As he gets to know Addison as an adult, he realizes that she remains the best relationship he's ever had. His determination to bring her back into his life amidst all of the other upheaval of his life is a challenge, but now that he's had a taste of family, he'll do what it takes to have it all. Addison, while cautious, is a forgiving and loving person. This new relationship as adults evolves organically, with both Walker and Addison doing their best in the face of uncertainty and the pressures of starting a new life. Their relationship is one between equals, both willing to work toward what they want.

Four stars for this second chance/secret baby romance.

This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.

Wild Hearts by Lea Coll, book five in the Wilde Brothers series, is a wonderful, heartbreaking yet heartwarming, military single dad, second chance with first love, strength of family, small town romance.

Walker Wilder gets the shock of his life when he learns that he has a thirteen-year-old daughter, who had just lost her mother. Deciding it would be best to leave the military rather than re-enlisting, he returns to home to prepare for meeting his Dakota, his daughter. The social worker assigned to this case is none other than Addison: his high school girlfriend, his first love, the one he left behind when he enlisted, the one he never forgot. One thing that helps Walker relate to his daughter is the fact that he also lost his parents at around the same age as Dakota; forcing him to move and live with his Wilder cousins. Walker is fortunate to have help from his cousins and Addison as he figures out how to become a dad.

After reconnecting with Addison, Walker decides he wants another chance with her. He has never forgotten her; in fact, he carried her picture with him through his deployments. Addison was heartbroken when Walker left. She is hesitant to give him that change, trying to remain professional with him. The more time she spends with Walker and Dakota, the more she sees how much he has changed and falls under his spell; finally willing to give him that second chance.

I love the way mature Walker finally felt like a part of his cousins’ family and that he truly belonged. The support Eli, Oliver, and Xander gave him was what Walker needed. The depth of love and acceptance the Wilder family gives Dakota was perfect; seeing her and her little cousin, Joey connect was what family is all about. This is a family that would do anything for the ones they loved. Walker and Addison were perfect together and I am so glad they reconnected. I'm looking forward to the next, and last, Wilde brother getting his story.

Lea Coll delivers another heartfelt and emotional story in Wild Hearts, the latest installment in The Wilde Brothers series. This captivating military single dad romance weaves a dazzling second-chance love story, all set against the charming backdrop of a small town and the beloved Wilde Ski Resort. Every return to this world feels like coming home, and I always enjoy checking in on the rest of the Wilde family.

Walker’s life is turned upside down when he discovers not only that he’s a father—but that his daughter, Dakota, is already a teenager. As if that shock isn’t enough, the person tasked with helping him and Dakota navigate this transition is none other than Addison, the first love he never forgot. Now a civilian, back home with his family, Walker must come to terms with both fatherhood and his rekindled feelings for Addison.

Addison never truly got over Walker breaking her heart when he joined the military, and while the attraction between them is just as intense as ever, she’s wary—can she trust that he won’t leave again? Their chemistry crackles, but their journey is layered with emotion, past wounds, and the undeniable pull of fate.

I especially loved how Coll deepened Walker’s character by tying his past to the Wildes—having lost his parents at 14 and moving in with his cousins, he understands Dakota’s struggles in a way few others could. This emotional depth made his bond with Dakota even more heartfelt, and watching her play matchmaker was such a fun, heartwarming addition to the story.

A perfect mix of swoon, second chances, and family, Wild Hearts is another stellar addition to this series. Lea Coll never fails to deliver romance packed with emotion, and I can’t wait for what’s next in The Wilde Brothers!

Five stars is not enough for Wild Hearts. When I first started The Wilde Brothers series, I felt that Walker Wilde was a man hiding so much under the surface. We are finally given Walker's story and I fell hard for this man. His story is one of surprises, forgiveness, found family, family and the one who has always been in your heart. His story was impossible to put down. I wanted to see if love was going to bloom again and if Walker was going to be the man that I was hoping he would be.
We are told the story of Walker and how his life was turned upside down when he found out he had a thirteen-year-old daughter, Dakota, but also how this first love, Addison, came back into his life. To see him so easily move into the role of father was heartwarming. He changed his life, opened his heart and put Dakota at the top of his priority list. Addison is Dakota's social worker, but she has a history with Walker, a very serious history where hearts were shattered when he left. Can Walker change Addison's mind and get her to open her heart to a second chance? Will Addison be able to see that he has changed and the two people who were in love years ago as teenagers, are not the same? Dakota has had her life shattered and my heart broke for her, however, to see the Wilde family surround her with all the love in the world had me smiling from ear to ear. I always knew that this family would do anything for the ones they loved.

"Wild Hearts" by Lea Coll is an absolutely captivating read that deserves every one of its five stars! From the very first page, I was drawn into the emotionally rich world Lea Coll masterfully creates. The story revolves around a heartwarming second chance romance that beautifully intertwines with the challenges and joys of being a single dad.

The protagonist, a devoted single father, is portrayed with such depth and authenticity, making his journey incredibly relatable and endearing. His relationship with his spunky teenage daughter adds an extra layer of heart to the narrative, exploring the complexities and dynamics of family life with genuine warmth and humor.

Lea Coll has an exceptional talent for developing characters that feel real and nuanced. The chemistry and tension between the romantic leads are palpable, and their story of rediscovery and healing is both inspiring and touching.

The storyline progresses effortlessly, weaving themes of love, forgiveness, and resilience, which resonate deeply. The author's writing style is engaging and evocative, capturing the reader's emotions and immersing them in every moment.

Overall, "Wild Hearts" is a beautifully written tale that hits all the right notes. It's a perfect blend of romance, family drama, and personal growth. Wild Hearts is an emotionally gripping romance that captures the essence of love, healing, and second chances. The story follows two characters, each with their own pasts filled with baggage, who find solace and passion in each other’s arms. Coll does an excellent job of weaving together themes of personal growth and the struggle of overcoming past trauma.

The chemistry between the protagonists is palpable, and their connection feels natural and real. Coll’s writing shines in its ability to make the characters’ emotions deeply relatable, making readers root for their love story from beginning to end. There’s a perfect balance between moments of intensity and tenderness, and the pacing keeps the story engaging without feeling rushed.

What sets Wild Hearts apart from other romance novels is the depth Coll gives her characters. They're not just swept up in a whirlwind romance; they face challenges and growth that make their journey together meaningful. The plot is well-crafted, with a blend of romance, suspense, and heartfelt moments that will leave readers invested in the characters’ fates.

Overall, Wild Hearts is a captivating read for fans of contemporary romance. Lea Coll’s storytelling is powerful, and her ability to create genuine emotion will resonate with anyone who believes in the power of love and redemption.

This is Walker's story in the Wilde Brothers series. He is a cousin to the brothers but was raised with the family after his parents were killed in an accident. Now he has learned that he has a thirteen year old daughter that he didn't know about until her mother died from cancer. He is home on leave from the service and decides to leave the military to raise his daughter and make up for lost time with . Dakota. Walker's ex high school girlfriend, Addison, is the social worker who is in charge of the case making sure that Walker and Dakota have a smooth transition to being a family. There's the problem that Walker and Addison have that he left for the military without discussing it with her that left her with a broken heart. I liked how Walker stepped up to being a parent. Dakota is wise beyond her years and takes the transition well. Addison has to work at understanding why Walker left. Walker decides that this is the perfect time to have a second chance with Addison and Dakota pushes his towards that end. The book shows that you don't have to be born into the Wilde family to be considered a member of their family. I enjoyed this book. I received an early copy to read and review. I'm leaving my honest review.

5 Star Review Wild Hearts (The Wilde Brothers #5) by Lea Coll

I have been waiting not so patiently for this story. This is Walker and Addison’s story and what beautifully written second chance at love story it was.

I fell hard for Walker, he just melted my heart; a true book boyfriend. I admired Addison and everything she stood for.

When Walker returns from the Military after learning he has a 13 year old daughter Dakota he knew nothing about, and whose mother has just died. He is also shocked to learn that the social worker assigned is his old flame, Addison.

I could easily relate to a Walker who was orphaned as a child, primarily because I went through the same experience as a child.

I loved the development of their relationship as they re connected. It was also heartwarming to watch his relationship develop with Dakota, with Addison’s help. I loved the development of Walker and Addison’s relationship as they re connected.

Ms. Coll had me riveted from the first paragraph with characters that were easy to relate to and easy to like.

This is a well written, entertaining, emotional story that left me with a smile on my face.

An absolutely beautiful and heartfelt romance! Young Dakota Scott has just been introduced to a father that she had not known existed, Walker Wilde. Her mother had never told her about her father and with the help of social worker, Addison Montgomery, Dakota will meet her father and his extended family. Addison and Walker were once an “item” years ago before he enlisted in the military. Now, learning that he has a teenage daughter, he has left the service and returned to Telluride. Being a father to Dakota is his most important job and he is especially glad that Addison will be there for support. She is determined to keep things between them on a professional level, but with Dakota’s help, is there a second chance for Addison and Walker? The entire Wilde clan are ready to support Walker and Dakota as she adjusts to a new family, home and school. Dakota had formed a strong attachment to Addison as she dealt with the loss of her mother while gaining a new family who are thrilled to welcome her into their lives. Just a wonderful “feel good” story with a holiday feel! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

I’ve really enjoyed being back in Telluride and at the Wilde Ski Resort for the latest instalment of the Wilde Brothers series. Even though it’s part of a series, like the others it can easily be read as a stand-alone.

This one focuses on Walker Wilde, a cousin of the Wilde Brothers, and his second chance with Addison, the social worker assigned to the daughter he didn’t know he had, his first love and his ex girlfriend.

I enjoyed seeing Walker and Addison reconnect and bond over both being there for Dakota, Walkers daughter. I thought they had great chemistry. I really liked how they were eventually able to out the past firmly behind them and move forward. I loved how Walker stepped up for his daughter and became the father she needed. There were some truly moving moments weaved throughout.

I love how Lea crafts an amazing story with relatable characters, I’ve said it before but I still firmly believe that she is the queen of single parent and small town romances. Overall this is an emotional, heartfelt and fantastic addition to the series. I can’t wait for the next one.

4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
Walker Wilde has been alone for a long time, at least that's how he's always felt. Since both his parents died and he went to live with his cousins at the resort he never truly felt like he belonged. Until Addison, the one person in school who didn't seem scared of his grief.
After losing touch, a lengthy stretch in the military and a phone call from a social worker, one who just happens to be Addison. Walker finds out he is now a single father to a thirteen year old girl. Dakota had no idea who her Dad was till her mom died now these two strangers get to forge a relationship based on shared traumatic experiences and the joy of finding new family.
I loved the father daughter relationship in the story and how open Dakota was. I really enjoyed how the story was as much about the second chance between Walker and Addison as it was about the two of them also creating a family with Dakota.
It's another great addition to the Wilde Brother's Series.

When you find out you have a thirteen year old daughter you didn’t know about you do everything in your power to get to know her even if you need your ex girlfriends help in the situation since she is a social worker !! Walker Wilder left Telluride, Colorado years a go for a life in the military to prove something to himself BUT what he left behind was the love of his life Addison Montgomery and seeing her again proves that the LOVE he had for her is still deep in his heart. Except Addison doesn’t NOT want or Need her heart to be broken again and knows and thinks his mind and attention should solely be on Dakota .. BUT

Dakota knows and sees the LOVE these two have for each other and tries her BEST to show them she is OK and WANTS them together!!

Can she get her wish .. a NEW family because that is what her heart want because loosing her Mom was hard enough.

These three will make your heart and mild race and let’s NOT forget the rest of the Wilder Family because they are ALWAYS large and in charge !! So AMAZING !!

Another Wildly romantic book from Lea Coll! Walker was definitely swoon-worthy. The way he immediately connected with his teenage daughter Dakota that he just found out about, it just melted my heart. With the help of the entire Wilde family and Addison, they tried to make the transition for Walker and Dakota as smooth as possible. Addison was the social worker assigned to the case, and also Walker's first love. He broke her heart once and she was determined not to let him get close enough to break it again. Addison told herself she would do her job and be done with him, but being around Walker and also seeing how he was with Dakota had her wanting to be around him. Could she give him another chance? Was it just the wrong time for them when they were younger? Would Dakota fit in with the Wildes, or would she miss her old home and friends too much? I love this tight-knit family and will miss them after the last book.

Another solid addition to this series! Walker is at a crossroads in his life. He is thinking of re-enlisting when he receives news that he is a dad of a teenage daughter. Her mother had passed away and he was named next of kin. He drops everything and heads home to be a father. He knows that he is going to need help navigating through. The social worker assigned to help is his high school girlfriend. They ended when Walker decided to enlist and let her go. He also had to work through his issues about his family and not feeling like he was actually a part of the family after his parents died. I liked that he and his daughter could relate to each other and work to become a family. Addison was reluctant to give him another chance and tried to remain professional. I really enjoyed reading their journey to happiness and becoming a family. Looking forward to the next one!

This is Walker Wilde's story, the cousin to the Wilde brothers who enlisted in the military at 18 and has never left. But when Walker finds out that he has a teenage daughter, Dakota, that he had no idea about, and whose mother has just died, he leaves the military to become a father. During this time of major change, Addison Montgomery is their social worker tasked with bringing father and daughter together, but she is also Walker Wilde's first love. While navigating the treacherous world of a teenager, Walker realizes that he never fell out of love with Addison and begs for a second chance. Dakota is a delightful character and also a bit of a matchmaker!

This was a delightful story of family, found family, love, loyalty and second chance love. It's a quick easy read that flows naturally from the first page. Looking forward to Killian's story next.

Wild Hearts is Walker and Addison’s much awaited story, it’s a second chance love story and it’s book five in The Wilde Brothers Series.
Walker leaves the military and returns home when he learns he has a 13 year old daughter named Dakota. He knew nothing about her until her mother passed away and he is also surprised that the social worker assigned to case is his childhood sweetheart, Addison. So can they rekindle their love as they work together to relocate Dakota…….
I fell hard and fast for Walker as I watched him transition into the role of dad to a teenager, he was a natural and his patience and love shone through, I adored the caring Addison but it was a teenager starting a new life after losing everything who stole my heart and the show. I swooned, I giggled as I joined this emotional journey but in the end I was left with a big smile on my face. A well written, captivating second chance at love.

After joining the military Walker didn’t believe that being a father would be part of his future until he learns that he has a teenage daughter, Dakota, who has just lost her mother. Determined to be there for her he returns to him hometown where he must not only adjust to being a father but seeing Addison, his first love again.

Addison was devastated when Walker ended their relationship so that he could pursue his military career, but she is determined to help Dakota with all the life changes she is facing. She has no intention of letting Walker back into her life but the more time she spends with him the more difficult that is becoming.

This is a heartwarming story about a love that hasn’t diminished over time. What begins as a joint effort to be there for Dakota turns into a second chance and a family that none of them were expecting.

Addison and Walker, high school sweethearts, are thrown back together when he finds out he has a 13 year old daughter, Dakota, that he never knew about. Determined to make things right, he takes an early discharge from the military and moves back to Telluride, near the only family he has left, the aunt, uncle and cousins he lived with after his parents died as a kid. Addison is a social worker, helping to ease Dakota’s transition. Walker has a lot of his plate raising a teenage daughter he is getting to know - can he win back Addison at the same time?

This is a feel-good romance novel with characters you will love. This would work as a stand alone but I highly recommend the others in the series about Walker’s cousins, who make cameos in this book too.

I read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I adore second-chance stories, and Walker and Addison's story was exactly what the doctor ordered on a rainy day.

Walker has just learned he has a teenage daughter, and bringing her to meet him is none other than the girl he left behind when he enlisted. Thrown together, Addison helps him navigate the fragile relationship he needs to build with her.

But old feelings are awakening between our MCs, and with the help of his daughter, Walker wants Addison in his life forever.

Convincing her to give him a chance won't be easy, but something as precious as their love is worth moving heaven and earth to reach their HEA.

This book was very sweet, a little emotional and the perfect read. Military man Walker gets the surprise of a life time. He is the father of a thirteen year old girl. Her name is Dakota and she is now coming to live with him. He knows his cousins and aunt will embrace her with open arms, but this is a lot to take in for anyone. Good thing the social worker assigned to the case will be there to help. Addison loves what she does, sometimes her job is difficult. But right now she is helping a father meet his daughter. What she was not expecting was to rekindle anything with the man who broke her heart. You guessed it…this is a second chance at love story. These two truly belong together…it just took them awhile to get there. This is a well layered, fast paced story that I couldn’t read fast enough. Addison loved Walker but respected that he needed to take this slow. Dakota lost a lot and needed to bond with her father and his amazing family. I loved this book so much. The characters had great chemistry and told a heck of a story. I love this series and this family soo darn much. I am Already looking forward to reading the next book.

Sometimes we get second chances and never expected them. Walker is a military man. Never did he imagine he would be a dad and never thought he would get a second chance with his first love. Now both have come true. His life is so different than he expected. He now feels he has a purpose. He has never forgotten Addison, he still carries a photo of her in his wallet even after all these years. She hasn’t forgotten what they shared but she is afraid of getting her heart broken again.
Sometimes life gives you second chances for a reason. You can take that second chance or you can live with the regret of what if.

Wild Hearts is the fifth book in the Wilde Brothers series. This story features Walker, the cousin who was raised with the Wilde brothers. This was an enjoyable steamy, heartfelt single father military second chance romance. I loved Walker and Addison's enduring chemistry and how they navigated through expectations, perceptions of the unexpected parenthood and rediscovering their relationship. I highly recommend this book and I can't wait to read the final book in the series.

Walker, the Wilde cousin, while knowing he was loved, chose military life at 18 over being part of the family business. He also broke the heart of his best friend and girlfriend, Addison. When he finds out he is the father of 13 year old, Dakota, he leaves the military and comes home to Telluride to be a father to Dakota. This is a good story, full of emotion, the love of a family and regaining the trust and love of the girl you've always loved. Lea is a great storyteller, I've loved the Wilde family and I know she's not done with them yet.
