Oh my heck, what a good book! After reading "Deliverance" by the same author, I knew I had to read the rest of the series, I do wish I had read them in order, though, as I knew what some of the answers would end up being in this story from reading the last one in the series. This book is full of emotions like discouragement, hope, forgiveness, redemption, depression and a lot of love. I, particularly, liked the scriptures spaced throughout and the fact that it was a spiritual read. Of course, my favorite books usually have children as part of the plot.
I just bought the second in the series and can hardly wait to get started on it. So happy I discovered Vicki Hunt Budge!
I really enjoy the characters in this book. They are well-defined and interesting. A variety of life's problems are represented, with each character trying to apply faith, love, and forgiveness to their own situation.
The title says it all, this book really is about hope and healing.
I really enjoyed this book. The author does a wonderful job of bringing the characters to live. They are very down to earth and relatable. It is a very clean story. My only concern is there are terms used in the book that are exclusive to to authors religion. If a reader is not LDS or aware of the LDS culture the may get confused with some of the terms used.
