Princess Aurelia only wants two things: freedom... and answers.
She was there when her mother, the beloved Queen, was murdered. And yet, she has no memory of the event. In fact, she hardly has any solid memories of her mother at all. She was nine when it happened, and ten years later she still can't put the pieces together. Her father, who has since become imperious and overprotective, refuses to touch on the subject while forcing Aurelia to remain hidden – unable to leave the confines of her home.
But when a vivid dream comes to her again and again, she can't resist the urge to find out more. She has to unveil what the dream is trying to tell her – why she can't remember her childhood before her mother was brutally taken from her.
After escaping her father, she finds a brooding stranger named Elias who agrees to escort her to a forgotten corner of the world, where she is certain her answers lie. She is unsure why she is so drawn to Elias, but he may be the only person able and willing to help her.
Aurelia and Elias brave the dangers of the Four Kingdoms while being hunted by her father, on an epic journey to find answers. And they may find more than they bargained for.

This book took me by surprise in a way. I have read a lot of romantasy over the last year and this one kept me entertained even if it is a bit predictable in the end. I think the author leaves a lot to explore in future books, and I’m excited to see where she goes with the story. It wasn’t bogged down with in your face worldbuilding/names/places but there is enough to keep the story interesting and easy to get into.

This book is not perfect and I had a few small issues with it (use of some words/language in a fantasy setting, Elias’ POV) but overall I really liked this one and I’m excited to see what the author does with this series.

This is about to be the next big romantasy, I can feel it. This story is everything you could ever want in a fantasy romance. We have reluctant allies to lovers, found family, traveling, training trope, secrets, tension, banter, and plot twists! Do yourself a favor and pick this book up, I absolutely ate it up and I cannot wait to see where this series goes!

Ok, so I don’t usually write reviews and just leave a star rating. But this book? Omg I loved it. I couldn’t put it down. I stumbled across Jaime’s tiktok one day and I immediately ordered this book because it sounded so intriguing. I AM SO GLAD I DID. It was so well written and I loved the plot. I absolutely loved Aura and Elias. If you’re considering reading this, DO IT! You won’t regret it. I wish the second book was coming out like right this minute because I NEED IT. I can’t wait to see what else happens. Great job Jaime! You’re an amazing writer and I am looking forward to book 2! 💚

This book was everything I needed and more. Aurelia is the princess of Rimor, one of the four kingdoms, and when she begins to have the same dream night after night she goes searching for answers. Slight problem, after her mother's death, her father has become very overprotective even exiling his brother for teaching Aurelia how to fight. When her dreams point to the lost kingdom of Zolmara she begins her trek with a very unlikely ally.

This is the perfect beginner romantasy read. The world-building is easy to follow, the romance has the perfect amount of tension, and the ending will have your jaw on the floor. I cannot recommend this book enough!

I didn't believe in the motivation for the adventure or the relationship. This made it feel like everything else was a slew of clichés strung together. Rating it a 2 because if this had been written for a preteen to intro into romantasy it would be fine. The reality is, it isn't.
So rating it as an adult who reads romantacy alot, it would be a 1.5 star. It was entirely predictable and lacked depth. There was very little world building.

This debut novel for Jaime is phenomenal! It has everything you could want. I love the slow burn, the character growth, the adventure, the story. I read this book in 2 days. It is a slow burn, but it isn't so slow that it leaves you feeling bored. I never felt bored reading this story, and was always interested. I mostly want to praise the MMC. Jaime, you did fantastic writing this man. He is the perfect mix of morally grey, touch her and die, German Shepherd. I am so impressed with the writing, the creativity, the magic, the lack of typo's and errors. I think you will do amazing things - and I can not wait for the next book!!

a bit slow at first but overall a really fun read! my coworker wrote this book so it was special to enter her fictional world. I recommend for people who enjoy fantasy and battle. I enjoyed the way a lot of the pockets of the plot unfolded. I’m excited to read the next one. SA warning !!

“I’d kill a thousand men if it meant saving you.”

Forgotten Fate was a really good read! It wasn’t like anything I have read before. This book was written well and held my attention. The very end had me wanting more! Highly recommend! This was a ARC read for me and I’m so happy I was chosen to be able to read this book and to share how amazing it is.

Forgotten Fate is book 1 of a set trilogy by Jaime Wilburn. If you tell me it's a fantasy with werewolves and witches, I'll jump right in not knowing what I'm about to read. What I wasn't expecting.. was what our MMC, Elias, really was! Now, I'm not telling you what he is, what's the fun in that?? Our FMC, Aurelia, is a princess and has been on lock down by her father for a decade after her mothers death. She can't do anything on her own and always has a ridiculous amount of guards protecting her. Ever since her mothers death she's been having a reoccurring dream and she got to the point where she just needs to figure out what it all means. So she hires our MMC, Elias, to help take her to a place that is no longer on any map she has countlessly studied. There are a few twists I didn't see coming that made my mouth drop. Literally. When I got to the last page... I needed to know what was going to happened next! If you love a good fantasy with an epic adventure, seriously give this book a read! I absolutely enjoyed every second of it!! Happy Reading!

I can’t say more good things about this book. I Really enjoyed it and I kept wanting to read more and more to find out what happened. I usually can predict things in books pretty well but this one sent me for a loop!

I’m a little sad because I didn’t know the rest of the series wasn’t out yet but I can’t wait!

I loved this book and am so incredibly proud of Jamie for writing it! I loved the way she wrote and how it wasn’t old timey language that most books are in this setting. I just really loved the attention to detail and how relatable it was especially with the inner dialogue. I cannot wait for book 2!!!!!

This book will pull you out of a slump, so simple, but so good.

There was more plot than spice, but the spice was still perfection. I listened to the audio and finished it in a day. 👏🏻

I absolutely found a new favorite series! I couldn't wait for book 2- 2 pages in! I was hooked quick! The story line, the characters, the plot, everything was captivating. I found myself reading while cooking (and burning food), and doing other chores, I literally could not put it down. I am so excited for Jaime, because I know this book will be an instant success! I love that it was written in 1st person POV, it really makes you feel like you are Aura, and living in a story book. The worldbuilding, made me feel like I was there. The romance, ohhh I love a good slow burn! She had me on an emotional rollercoaster! And I am here for it! I think book 2 is going to be highly anticipated, I do hope inspiration hits and it ends up being more than a trilogy! If I were a trad publisher, I'd be scooping her up FAST! There is no way we will not be seeing this series marked "#1 best seller". Right when I thought I had it all figured out, there were surprises, of the most delectable kind. Watching Aura grow through the book had me rooting for her every step of the way, I was in tears, howling for her success, filled with love ( and other things). It is hard for me to put this book in a box, which is another thing I love about it! It has Mystery, drama, romance, action. I found myself thrilled, and simultaneously concerned for the characters. This isn't just a story, it is an experience you'll carry with you long after you've turned the last page. I can't wait to add the book to my shelf when it's released in hard copy! Thank you for sharing your creativity, Jaime. Please never stop being an amazing author.

I picked up this book because it promised many tropes I typically enjoy—especially the slow burn romance—but unfortunately, it didn’t quite deliver on that front. The romantic tension and pacing I look for in a slow burn just wasn’t there.

I also found the plot quite predictable. It was clear that the author intended to include surprising twists, but the foreshadowing was very heavy-handed, making many of the reveals feel obvious early on. Rather than building suspense, it often gave too much away too soon.

Additionally, the book lacked the depth I usually hope for in fantasy or romantic series. The world building felt minimal, and I struggled to connect with the characters due to limited development. I wanted more layers, more growth, and more immersion in the setting.

That said, the book had an engaging enough premise to keep me reading, and I can see why others might enjoy it more, especially if they like fast-paced romance and familiar tropes. But for me, it fell short in a few key areas, which is why I landed on a 3-star rating.

As for the rest of the series, I’m not ruling it out entirely. I may come back to it in the future, but I’ve decided not to continue immediately. I’m just not excited enough to dive into the next book right now. There are other titles I’m more eager to get to first.

This was such a fun journey! The book starts out with a young girl named Aura in a library. Now she isn’t supposed to be in this library because turns out she is a princess with a very protective father. Her father is protective because when she was young her mother was killed and she was also nearly killed. So now that she is older she craves answers and adventure. One night she begins to have nightmares of a wolf. These aren’t comfy dreams they’re terrifying. She goes on to tell her uncle (who her dad banishes because he wants to help her learn to protect herself) and her uncle tells her he can’t give her answers but she needs to travel to a Fifth kingdom for these answers. So she musters up the courage and packs up. Her good friend recommends she find an escort to take her and protect her. Enter Elias…..tall, dark and broody…yes please. Elias makes a deal to take her on this journey for a price. But something is amiss with Elias. He’s fast, and he runs hot, Aura can’t figure him out or can she? This book follows a beautiful cast of characters on an adventure you definitely want to be apart of. This book is a fantasy with found family, banter, slow burn and we have shifters…Put this on your TBR!

Yes. I need to get my trophy - I read on KU and I will be impatiently waiting for book 2.

Princes Aurelia really only wants 2 things - Freedom and Answers.

At a young age she witnesses her mother being murdered, and has zero recollection of the event, or really any memories of her mother for that matter. 10 years later memories are still foggy, and since the incident her father is massively overprotective. As a prisoner in her own castle, she cannot even leave to wander her kingdom without a slew of guards!

She beings to have a very vivid reoccurring dream - that along with her lack of memories - creates more questions - and she NEEDS the answers!

When she finally has the chance to escape her fathers grasp - she finds a brooding stranger to be her companion to travel to forgotten corners of the world in search of those answers..

I loved the world building - I loved the dynamic between Aurelia and Elisa and cannot wait to see what book 2 brings!

Thank you Jaime for such a fun read!

The book that got me out of my reading slump. It's been weeks since I have enjoyed a book. Not like but fell in love with. I felt like I did when I was going through the ACOTAR series, in love with it.

Dated mates, wolves, magic, world building, touch her and 💀. This story has everything I love.

I loved the characters so much. I hated the ones you were supposed to hate. I didn't feel a slight ounce of sadness for the villains. The main characters, I loved them so much. They felt very well built and I loved that this wasn't one of those, the female is weak but can do all these things she shouldn't be able to do, she had strength and it only got better.

The world building was excellent. I still have so many questions at play about the world and I hope to get more from this.

I look forward to a second book if this is going to be a series. I have to buy a physical copy for my shelf.

This authors has a big future ahead!

While my started and end date says I read this book in 7 days… it was actually 3. Day 2 I went from page 154 to 367 in one sitting. I absolutely loved this book. The beginning was slower paced than the rest of the book, but it piqued my interest in just what was going to happen next? I absolutely loved the FMC Aurelia - who mostly goest by Aura through the book - and her personality. She’s sheltered, but not by her own choice and craves not only freedom from her over protective father, but answers about her past and why she seems to be haunted by a strange reoccurring dream. She embarks on her journey with the enigmatic Elias and through multiple dangers and close calls comes closer and closer to her answers and finding out just who she is. It was difficult for me to put down the book once things kicked off and I am eagerly awaiting the chance for me to get my hands on book 2 in the series!

A woodland adventure

I enjoyed Forgotten Fate. The beginning was a little slow for me but once Aura & Elias were into the thick of their adventure the pace picked up!

However, I can see how the beginning needed to be a bit slower to show how trapped the FMC felt and how new the world was once she was out in it.

I liked the slow torture of the one sided relationship and the insecurity and jealousy the author brewed for main character.

I devoured the last chapters of the book, eager to learn more about the magic system and mystical world the characters really inhabited. I can imagine a second book would read a little faster for me with the magic system being (hopefully) more part of the plot and story at the get-go.

Such a nerve wracking thing to put your work out there, Jamie did a stellar job!

From the moment I picked up this ARC I was captivated by Aura and her tenacity, optimism, and rebellious nature. I love that she did not accept the way things were and persevered until she was able to find the answers she was searching for.

The moment we are introduced to Elias, I was hooked. Tall, dark, and moody? ✨YES PLEASE✨

The magic system within this debut novel is unique and takes an interesting perspective at witches, lycans, and mystics. Magic, however, is not the forefront of the novel. It is a slow burn into fantasy much like the slow burn longing between our FMC and MMC.

Saying I cannot wait for the next book is an ✨UNDERSTATEMENT✨

Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Plot: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Characters: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
World Building: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Ending: ⭐⭐⭐

Slllllooooooowwwww burn 🔥 but the plot makes it worth it.
This had a lot of my favorite fantasy elements. I would list them but that would ruin the fun. 🤪
Aura is a strong willful but not dumb FMC. As a kid that was under my parent’s thumb I really identify with her. No wonder she wanted to run away.
Elias the stoic drifter/bounty hunter was at the right place at the right time to take a life changing job.

From the moment they meet they know something is brewing 😉 but they each have secrets that hold them back from telling all.

As someone else said this has the potential to be the next great Romantsy wave!

Truly ADORED this book, I could NOT put it down. I'm so glad that I signed up for the ARC for Book 2 because I just couldn't wait another few weeks for it to come out!
This story was equal parts plot, equal parts character growth with amazing yearning and romance. The romance was romancing. The slow burn was slow burning. Some of the twists were obvious because of the intentional foreshadowing, but I think it was supposed to be that way. Because the other twists that I DIDN'T see coming had my jaw on the floor.
This book was such a unique story. Most romantasies kind of all mingle together at this point, but this one was so breathtakingly fresh. Highly recommend. Will be telling all my friends to read it.

Well it's finished and man was it a ride.

This is the first book I have read that definitely included more plot than spice, which was honestly a nice little change for me. But the spice was spicing for me.

Aura is the main character and you go through almost all of the book from her perspective. While Aura is a princess, I feel that Jaime did a fantastic job of making her still be relatable.

This book is beautifully written and action packed. There are some things you don't see coming and pieces that start to fall into place pretty early on. Overall I enjoyed reading this book and I recommend it to anyone looking for a story to just get lost in.
