Their fate isn’t carved in stone. It’s written in blood. Three months ago, Special Agent Stella Knox finally took down the man she’s spent her entire career chasing—the man responsible for her father’s death. Now she and Special Agent Hagen Yates are enjoying a well-deserved leave of absence in a secluded cabin in rural Pennsylvania, where the snow falls heavy, the fire crackles, and the silence feels almost too perfect.
Until they discover a body.
Hanging upside down from a tree in the icy woods, a psychiatric patient from the nearby hospital has been ritualistically killed—his throat slit, his blood drained, and cryptic symbols carved with chilling precision into his flesh. The word written in the ancient language of gods and demons portends what’s to come.
Death.
The storm trapping them in this isolated town is no longer their greatest threat. With a killer hiding in their midst, Stella’s instincts tell her the hospital holds answers—but are they unraveling a murderer’s motives or awakening something far darker? In a town suffocating under snow and terror, the line between sanity and madness blurs, and no one is safe from what’s coming next.

If you enjoy a good thriller, I highly recommend this series. You will find it hard to say no to a book from Mary and Stacy. I did receive a copy of this book from the authors and this is my honest and freely given review.
Jumping into investigating again... After the death of their fathers killer they spent time off, spent at a lone cabin in a remote place the quiet is shattered by a knock on the door and it's back in another case immediately.
FBI Agents Stella Knox and Hagan Yates have been through hell and back in their lifetime. Though relieved to have the case of their fathers death's was finished, investigation is in their blood and they jump right into a search for a missing Mental Patient the local Sheriff had came to them about. Starting out as a search, it quickly turned into a murder when Stella found the body.
I have enjoyed following Stella and Hagan as they have worked their cases. You should check this series by Author Mary Stone, I think you would enjoy it as much as I have.
Stella and Hagen are enjoying the tail end of their time away from work after taking down the man and organization responsible for their fathers' deaths. When the deputy of the small town where they are vacationing asks them to help in the search of a patient from a local psychiatric hospital, their vacation ends and they are on the hunt for a murderer who leaves weird marking the backs of the victims and drains them of their blood. And all of this is taking place during a whiteout blizzard! Well written and definitely a stay-up-late type of book. And the ending leads the reader to believe it is not all over!!
Stella and Hagen are away from the job to rest and recuperate for a while. They have found a cabin to rent that is away from all the crime and death that is part of their life these days. They have started planning their return to the city and back to work. However those plans are interrupted when a patient from the local hospital cannot be found. They organize a search but are hindered by the large snow storm headed right for them. When the patient is found it is a grizzly scene, and the many lies told by the town folks complicates matters more. You’ll not want to put this book down.
Here they are in a cabin in the mountains of Pennsylvania. It's a small town of just about 1,000 people. And, a murderer! Stella and Hagen have taken a well-earned break but just about the time their vacation is due to end a patient from the local mental hospital is missing. They do their duty and join the search and what they find sends this town into a murder capital. Lots of turns in this book and you can fall down a rabbit hole if you miss certain clues. I like Stella and Hagen they are a good team. The ending is a setup for more books and it's very intriguing. Good read.
Quite the change of location for Special Agents Stella Knox and Hagen Yates. From Nashville to the snowy woods of PA. This is where the agents are enjoying their vacation. The mystery that Mary Stone and Stacy O’Hare have created is captivating. As a reader nothing like sitting in a cozy chair while the story unfolds with blizzard conditions! Lots of twists and turns and unexpected surprises. The authors kept the killer well hidden until the end. So good, cannot wait for the next in this series!
Another amazing story in this series. Stella Knox has finally solved her Dad’s murder & takes a much needed vacation with her boyfriend/partner Hagan. Hiking & enjoying the remote countryside gets interrupted with a missing psychiatrist patient that results in a murder. Of course Hagan & Stella are thrown into the investigation, which turns into a mysterious murder spree. Can they find the murderer & still be able to enjoy any vacation? A fast paced read you won’t want to
My favorite of all of Marys series. She and Stacy have done an excellent job. Read the book straight thru, could not put it down. Stella and Hagen are awesome characters and it has been fun watching their relationships develop. With everything they have been thru you want them to have their happily ever after. The case left us guessing to to very end. Can't wait to see what happens in the next book and hope for many More

They are soon asked to investigate a murder of a patient at a mental hospital there. Another murder follows and they soon are deeply involved in solving the murders.
The book is full of twists and turns and mystery and ends with a cliffhanger.

Killer Plot( Stella Knox FBI Mystery Series Book 13)
This book was so worth the wait, it had so many twists and turns in it. There is a murderer in a very small town and they have a sadistic, ritualistic way of marking the bodies. You don't really figure out who is doing the killing until the end, but they also leave questions left to explain. I can't wait for the next book.
The story was very good. Understanding why the FBI agents were up in Pennsylvania because of their last assignment and the need for a vacation helped understanding the need for the small town needed their help. Finding the first murder and trying to understand it was difficult. It wasn't until the ending that the one doing the killing was discovered.
A GREAT BOOK THAT IS WELL WRITTEN AND WILL KEEP YOU ENGROSSED TILL THE LAST PAGE. THE STORY LINE IS ORIGINAL WITH PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS TO KEEP YOU TURNING THE PAGES TILL THE END. THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT AND BECOME YOUR FRIEND DURING THE BOOK. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?
Another great book in the series can't wait to see what's next. Was there someone else helping with these killings? What will happen with Stella and Haden. I love a good ending.
This is the thirteenth book in the Stella Knox FBI Mystery series. This plot is interesting and intriguing. You will be on the edge of your seat because, you’ll never see what’s coming! Each of the thrillers in the series is a page-turner.
The storyline was ok, if you could overlook all the obvious grammatical errors. All The misspelled words throughout the whole book and all the double words and misspelled words in 1 sentence that I couldn't understand.
This one caught me by surprise. I followed it but could not connect the dots, which is perfect for me! Fighting crime in a small town should be a piece of cake, especially for 2 FBI people but it kept them, and me, on the edge of my seat
This book is amazing. Mary Stone's writing is fantastic, the plots are engaging, and she’s always got a big twist you never see coming. I am ready for the next.
This was a great story about Stella and Hagan with lots of murders happening in a small town and going out to see who is doing it and finding out with lots of suspense and action. Thank you.
