I’m not sure I can fully put into words how this book made me feel. Dr. Sarah Monday’s writing is incredibly expressive, she has a rare gift for taking the everyday moments and struggles of life and making them feel captivating. You find yourself completely absorbed, eager to see what’s going to happen next in the characters’ lives.

Her exploration of relationships and human motivation is so deep and thoughtful. There was one character I didn’t particularly like, but I completely understood his motivations and that’s what makes her writing so powerful. Her characters are raw, real, and full of complexity, and you truly feel what they feel.

I was completely hooked. I actually loved this second book even more than the first. The way she weaves the characters’ lives together is seamless, and everything builds to a beautiful, satisfying whole. The pacing never lags, and the concept of soulmates, a major theme throughout, is explored with such emotional depth.

Parts of this book made me tear up—I saw pieces of myself in so many of the characters. And the slow-burn romance? Perfection. The spice is subtle but impactful, done in a way that feels natural and emotionally grounded.

Dr. Monday’s take on each deadly sin is brilliant, and I can’t wait to read the next book. This one will stay with me for a long time.

I truly do not know where to begin with this review.
Once again I am left with so many thoughts and not enough mental and emotional capacity to truly explain the depth of this book. It was tragic, terrifying, beautiful, uplifting and so real. The twist was chef’s kiss.
The book started off for me trying to figure out how all of the characters were connected. The suspense and curiosity kept me reading and it was very hard to put this book down to adult.
I really felt connected to the characters and detested one of them. I wanted so badly to reach into the book and slap a certain character to say the least!

This book was just fantastic. It is another one right up there with Dr. Monday’s first book (A Dance in the Devil’s Arms). Both books are just so different from anything that I have ever read.

I am noticing a trend with this author. She has perfectly delivered raw and real stories and she has set the bar high for other authors. Bravo! I cannot thank you enough, Dr. Monday, for sharing your talent and beautiful mind with us!

Colter is hands down still on my sh*t list! This one really got me in my feelings. I loved how the characters somehow connected, and the character cross in this one was such a cool surprise. This was such a great read!

I'm not sure I can find the correct words to describe how incredible this book is. The way Sarah Monday writes is flawless. She creates a story so intricately that you don't even notice it coming together, it's like it just appears. I loved the FMC so much, I felt her pain, her loss, her love each step of the way. The spice added to the story, it wasn't the story and I'm all for that. Thank you Sarah Monday for writing your words.

This was yet another 5 star read for me. How it’s all tangled and intertwined with all the characters is amazing. This book made me feel ALL THE FEELINGS! I cried, I was happy, I was mad it was absolutely amazing. I loved every minute of it. Madison and Katie were my absolute favorite! I am so obsessed with her books 😫 I can’t wait for the rest of them!

I love this book I think even more than her first. I don’t know how Dr. Sarah Monday dies it but she draws you on to the characters on a level I can’t even explain. The FMC in this hook you want to be on her side then you don’t then you do. The complexities of relationships and why we think we deserve certain treatment from our partners is highlighted in this book. I could resonate with the FMC on certain levels which made me have compassion for her. Very well written book! Highly recommend!

OMG!! I loved this second book as much as the first one! So good!!
Giving me almost a mystery vibe on top of everything else, there were different aspects of this story going on, and I kept trying to figure out how it all connected almost until the end. Then they brilliantly clicked into place. I absolutely loved it!!!

This book had me wrapped up. Secrets from the past, a failed marriage, and new beginnings with twists that I didn’t see coming. I love how some characters from A Dance In The Devils Arms have a background presence in the story. The descriptive writing paints a picturesque setting.

The first in the series was good. This one was better. It's amazing how 2 books can have characters that you feel mirror some of your own life and choices. That make you examine your decisions and what things you maybe need to reevaluate. Great series and I can't wait for the third.

This is one of those books that sits in your soul, it becomes a part of who you are, how you think, and how you want to see yourself in the world around you. I knew you could not like a character in a book but to truly despise one and find yourself yelling at them as if that would make a difference and yet I still found myself yelling at the book and more than once I was left speechless and in tears. Dr. Sarah Monday has a way of connecting her characters to the reader so you are not only invested in the story but feel every twist and turn. I highly recommend this book but I would say defiantly read Book 1 A Dance in the Devil's Arms (ADITDA) first. It will flow beautifully. I am already rereading it again.

Dr. Sarah Monday does it again.

For How An Angel Dies, we are back in Eastside, following Madison, Katie and Atticus. Madison is a successful Strategy consultant mourning the loss and love of her highschool love. She is in a not so successful marriage with Colter, who makes things more difficult with his drinking and outbursts. She starts to see the light in life again through her colleague, Dorian and is struggling to make the decision to follow that potential or try to make things work.

Katie is new to Eastside on a work study program, forms a blooming relationship with Office Ben Hendricks, and makes a new friend, Atticus, who makes her wonder if she is in Eastside for more reasons than just a work study.

Atticus is also unsure if his purpose in Eastside, but as he settles, becomes a comfort to some and a threat to others. Watching as these 3 lives and worlds collide is just absolutely binge worthy.
I am so in awe of Dr. Sarah's writing style, within just pages, I know these characters, I am these characters and I am so connected. Her books always leave me reflecting on my own life. This series leaves me with all the emotions. I cannot wait for book 3, and the rest honestly. I love the interconnection between these books and seeing how characters pop up and there were callbacks to A Dance In the Devil's Arms.

I devoured this book, because I could not put it down. The Code of Souls and Dr Sarah Monday have me in a chokehold and I will forever see her as an atuobuy author. Thank you so much Sarah for sharing these stories with us.

I can't wait to see what sin we face next!

I don’t have the words to do this book justice, but I’ll try. How an Angel Dies is a masterful blend of tragedy, hope, tension, and healing. Dr. Sarah Monday has done it again, delivering a raw, honest, and utterly unforgettable story.

From the very first page, I was pulled into the interconnected lives of Madison, Katie, and Atticus. Madison’s grief and inner conflict felt so familiar and human, especially for me, as someone who was widowed young. The story offered me something I wasn’t expecting: hope. Hope that there’s light on the other side of loss, and that connections—both new and unexpected—can bring us back to life.

The writing is tight, the pacing electric, and the emotional depth is breathtaking. The twist? Absolute perfection. And just the right amount of spice made this even more addictive. I devoured it and didn’t want it to end.

Dr. Monday has a true gift for character development. I found myself deeply invested in each person’s journey and detesting one character so much I wanted to reach through the pages! That’s the mark of powerful storytelling.

Thank you, Dr. Monday, for sharing stories that make us feel, reflect, and believe again. I can’t wait to see what’s next.

I was expecting something very similar to A Dance in the Devil’s Arms but this was somehow the same and completely different?! I wasn’t as emotionally connected to these characters(I suffer from 1st book favoritism😅) but I was still unable to stop thinking about these characters. I had to know what was happening to them at all times and the way multiple stories are woven together into one is incredible. Especially because it felt cohesive to me, I was never pulled out or confused… just completely infatuated with this story 😫

This book is simply amazing! Dr. Monday’s writing is so beautiful and descriptive it made me feel like I was there experiencing it all. The storyline flows with such ease but kept me on the edge of my seat in anticipation in not knowing what the heck was going on, all at the same time. The ending blew me away and left me heartbroken but then healed. Absolutely phenomenal!! I cannot wait for book 3.
