Faking Ever After

Rate this book
This trip to Greece was supposed to be simple—play the part of the perfect boyfriend, soak up the sun, and help my best friend’s billionaire boss survive his family’s relentless questions.

I thought he would only be my ticket out of New York and away from the man whose dangerous secrets I stole.

But nothing about Percy Davenport is simple. He’s a genius with a yacht and a private jet but can’t handle turbulence or, apparently, telling his mother no. When I agreed to be his fake date for his parents’ wedding anniversary, I didn’t realize I’d also be signing up for two weeks of shared beds, whispered secrets, and way too many stolen glances.

Percy’s handsome, brilliant, and shy enough to be completely charming, and pretending to love him feels far too real. Falling for him wasn’t part of the deal, but neither was learning he’s been burned by people too many times to trust easily—especially if you’re a stranger carrying a pocket full of secrets.

Pretending to love Percy should have been easy. The hard part? Stopping myself from falling for real.

Faking Ever After is a sizzling MM romance packed with fake dating, forced proximity, and the kind of emotional tension that will leave you breathless. If you love clueless MCs, exotic destinations, and laugh-out-loud romcoms, Percy and Finn’s story will sweep you off your feet.

This is my first book by Hayden Hall and I'm glad to say I enjoyed it! It's fairly low-angst, fast-paced and would make for a great summer beach read. Finn and Percy are cute together, the whole fake-dating thing is always a lot of fun and the spice is actually pretty great! Combine that with a romantic setting like Greece and it's overall very entertaining and enjoyable.

I just wanted it all to have a bit more... something. I can't pinpoint what exactly, but there was just something missing for me. I will definitely check out more of Hayden's books in the future though!

I received an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) in exchange for an honest review.

Finn, on the run after stealing an encrypted flash drive full of incriminating information Ponzi scheme that swindled his family out of a lot of money, randomly bumps into his friend, Kim, who suggests a way to help him out of his prickly situation.

Percy, Kim's boss, is desperately in need of a buffer while in Greece for his parent's anniversary, especially after lying to his parents about having a boyfriend. Who better than to play the part than Finn, who needs to lay low.

The two instantly hit it off, with lines blurring between real and fake as feelings grow between the two. Of course things are going a bit too perfectly, and things quickly go down hill with the arrival of an unexpected guest.

Faking Ever After was fast paced, entertaining, and kept me hooked from the start.
Honestly, this was yet another book I went into completely blind--it's Hayden Hall, so I knew I would love this regardless what it was about. I needless to say I adored Percy and Finn together so much.

4.5 stars. What a delightful story this was!

Finn needs to leave for a while, he got himself in a precarious situation and has to disappear.
His best friend helps him. Her boss needs a fake boyfriend and Finn is the one who can do the job.

Percy is a self-made billionaire, and quite down to earth. While he runs a company, his mom is the one he can’t say no to. He said he’d bring a boyfriend. He didn’t have one.
Thanks to his PA he now has a fake boyfriend.

Welcome Finn to the madness of Percy’s life. Because dang, Percy’s family was something different!

Many, many, many delightful moments are here to enjoy, from endearing to hilarious, from sweet to spicy, and last but not least, the denouement of Finn’s precarious situation.
As I said, I loved this delightful story, it had a good flow and was well-written.

You can tell the author has a passion for the location of this standalone romance... it's very much a love letter to his favourite places in Greece, with a not-so-fake love story woven in between. With a fake dating trope, an opposites attract plot line and a MC who is oblivious to so much nuance going on around him, we get a slow building romance with a few major hiccups along the way.

I found this book to skim the surface of the characters when I wanted more depth, and the plot twist was not so twisty but I truly kept reading for the scenic descriptions to add to my Greek trip bucket list. As a travelogue I'll give it high marks and a good rating for a sweet, slow burn romance.

An overall good read set with a beautiful backdrop of Greece. Hayden did a beautiful job in transporting us to the locations and giving you the feel of being there. Finn is out for revenge on the man who took away his family's savings. When he gets in too deep, he ends up on a trip with Percy, who will help him hide if he pretends to be his significant other. What starts as a bargain becomes more, but when Finns past comes back, it's time for the truth, and hopefully, he will be believed even when he's been lying this whole time. The storyline kept you intrigued from start to finish, and yet the timeline of events felt something was missing. As said, overall, good read. I just wanted some parts further expanded from the author.

Faking Ever After is a wonderful fake to real romance between a sweet billionaire and his employee's friend. Instantly connecting, Finn and Percy soon find their fake relationship turning into a real one. When Finn's past catches up to him, Percy steps up to help him. This was a fun book to read. I love Finn and Percy together.

Faking Ever After is the story of Finn and Percy. Finn needs somewhere run when he gets in to deep after stealing a thumb drive from a billionaire who is cheating families out of their money including his own family. He agrees to be Percy's fake boyfriend on a trip to Greece for Percy's parents anniversary party. This was just a fun story with enough twists to keep it interesting. I really loved the characters and watching them figure things out. I would definitely recommend this book.

DNF 30%. I see lots of love for this on GR. Maybe I just didn't give it enough time. But it's been an effort to pick up the last couple nights. Not overtly awful but I'm bored, not jibing with the writing, and not feeling any zing between the MCs.

Faking Ever After by Hayden Hall is a sweet fake relationship story about a man on the run and the billionaire he falls in love with. Finn Connolly’s family was pulled into a cryptocurrency scam by a billionaire who wiped out their savings and left them in a bad state. Finn was bound and determined to get the man and make him pay, so while it took weeks, he was able to find him, befriend him, get into his house and take the flash drive with information that could put him in jail. Before he could do this he had to find a way to get past the security on the flash drive so he could get what was on it to the FBI. When the man found out it was gone, he threatened him and demanded it be brought back but Finn was on a mission. He found his good friend Kim who worked as an assistant to billionaire Percy Davenport. He had made his fortune by finding network optimization solutions for tele-communications in companies along with his friend Richie, but had relegated responsibilities to people he could trust so he could spend his time seeking out people who wanted to develop new ideas and secure capital to help them. Now he was in need of a fake boyfriend to spend two weeks in Greece as his parents celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary. That was how Finn found himself accompanying Percy on his private jet to Mykonos. Percy was a self-made billionaire and didn’t act like one as Finn soon found out. He was shy unless he was negotiating and it took him a while to recognize what everyone could see which will come back to haunt him. They talk on the plane about what Finn should expect and how to act but he can only be his real self and charms the family when they meet. As time goes on Percy and Finn explore the island, sail on Percy’s yacht, get to know each other and like what they see. This leads to a kiss and then some very hot love scenes. Percy is so thankful that Finn is there that he tries to pay him for his services which Finn does not like at all. So he has to make an apology and he does this in an epic way which leads them to be real boyfriends. But when they return to their villa a shyster is there trying to entice Percy’s aunt and this makes Finn think about what he is doing with the flash drive. When Richie shows up everything falls apart and Finn leaves. But Percy knows he loves him and finds him. That is when Finn tells him everything about what happened that led him to taking the flash drive and he is so relieved that Percy believes him. Then they declare their love, and shortly after are able to get the man who hurt Finn’s family and the others that were caught in the scam. I really enjoyed this book. Finn and Percy are wonderful characters. Finn is all sunshine and fun but worried about the man finding him and didn’t want anyone else involved. Percy is not your typical billionaire and was very down to earth, even though it took a while for him to figure things out. Percy’s family were front and center in many of the scenes which included his all-knowing mother, his father that only had eyes for his mother, his sister who could be a pest at times but also helped them, and his Aunt who also added to the fun. The shyster, Benny, and Richie also played an important part in the story. I was so glad the Percy and Finn found each other and were able to take the bad guy down. The epilogue was also very satisfying so you could see where they were 3 years later. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like the fake relationship genre between a man with revenge on his mind and has something to hide and the billionaire that takes him in and protects him as they fall in love.

4.5☆

Another day, another enjoyable story by Hayden Hall. I really enjoyed Percy and Finn's story a lot. Finn is on the run from a billionaire he's trying to take down because of a scam. Percy somehow ends up making up a fake boyfriend to take to his parents' 35th wedding anniversary. Finn runs into his friend Kim, who is coincidentally Percy's assistant, and he ends up being cast as the fake boyfriend. They fly to Greece and Finn is in awe of everything. I really enjoyed the descriptions of Greece that we got, it felt like the Author loved the place and wanted us to be able to imagine it all and love it as well.
Percy is not your typical billionaire. He's self made, but more importantly, he'a down to Earth, shy and likes his anonimity. Percy was just so very cute, sweet and oblivious. He kind of had to have things spelled out for him by his sister, but he really hit his stride after that! He was such a romantic not-so-fake boyfriend after that. Finn was hurt by Percy's obliviousness, but he also realized that he was keeping a secret from Percy. I loved the honest conversation they had after and them going from pretending to the real deal. I loved that to Percy honesty and trust was a big thing, and didn't push Finn to spill everything about what he did. Finn did tell Percy everything, and he was really scared that Percy wouldn't believe him and wouldn't want him anymore, but by then Percy knew him well enough to know the issue was serious and believed him without batting an eye. I loved that Percy helped him put things in motion to take down the billionaire scammer.

I really enjoyed the setting of this book, and Percy's family was such a fun addition. I laughed so much while reading this book. Percy's family could be a bit over the top, but they were a lot of fun and they were just being themselves.
Finn and Percy were sweet together and I loved how their relationship progressed. Finn needed to see that he was in fact worthy of good things and I loved how Percy did that, treating him like a King and cherishing him. Their feelings for each other were very visible in the way they touched each other and gazed at each other and I loved that.

This was a very fun and quick read. Pick it up if you're in the mood for a fairly low-angst fake boyfriend story about a billionaire and the man who plays his fake boyfriend.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story of Finn and Percy. After Finn steals a flash drive, he needs to get out of town quickly. His friend Kim has the perfect escape for him, pretend to be the fake boyfriend for her boss for two weeks in Greece. What could possibly go wrong?
I fell in love with Finn’s character from the first page. He just made me smile, I could picture him in my mind and hear his voice with his banter, his snark, his fantastic imagination and quick comebacks, serious at times, funny, intuitive, caring and thoughtful. Percy conjures up what the name implies for me, smart but with awkward social skills, a people person in crowds or groups when he doesn’t need to interact with them, but more comfortable around people he knows, except when negotiating for his business. When the two meet for the first time, there is a physical attraction and awareness, but Percy is uncomfortable
whereas Finn is totally at ease, and he helps Percy get over the initial awkwardness of the situation. Once in Greece, the two get on well, Finn fits in well with Percy’s family, but both maintain a distance between themselves, even through the attraction is increasingly growing. Finn is learning to trust Percy and wants to share his past and the flash drive, but an unexpected visitor changes everything, leading Finn’s doubts to return and putting the romance in jeopardy.
The world building for the islands of Greece is well done, painting beautiful word pictures of the sea and sky, beaches, the villages and ancient sites, and the world that Percy lives in while on the island. Percy’s family are fascinating in and of themselves. There is a bit of suspense, lots of sexy, steamy encounters as Finn and Percy deepen their relationship, and a well-deserved and satisfying conclusion at the end. The book was an entertaining and enjoyable read, holding my interest enough to read in one sitting. A great fake boyfriend story, one I would recommend.
I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a fun book to read. If it was summer, I would say it would be a perfect beach read. A fun, low angst story with enough surprises and twists to keep you entertained. This is the story of Finn Connolly and Percy Davenport. Finn came to the city to take down the person who robbed his family of their money through a cryptocurrency scam. He manages to befriend and then rob his target. He runs with a USB stick that is heavily encrypted wanted to turn it over to the FBI as evidence. But he has a problem. He can't get past the sticks security and his mark is threatening him for the sticks return. But Finn has a secret weapon, his bestie Kim. She agrees to help him and keep him safe. Percy is a billionaire that prefers to stay in the background. He likes to be low key. He also is great negotiator when doing business deals. But when dealing with his mother, he is unable to say no. That is how he finds himself agreeing to spend the week in Greece with his family to celebrate his parents anniversary with his boyfriend. The slight problem being that his boyfriend is imaginary. Kim his PA extraordinaire sets her mind to the problem and comes up with two solutions. Luckily, plan A is the one they go with. Finn needs to get out of town right away and Percy needs a boyfriend. A perfect situation where they can both help each other. Perfect right? Except that it starts with Percy assuming that Finn is a prostitute and is being paid to accompany him. The fun and the laughter carry on from there. This is their story. It is very well written and easy to read. Finn's sunshine outlook and charm blend perfectly with Percy's down to earth nature. I really enjoyed this book. It is a fun and cute read with a few surprises and twists along the way. You will not be disappointed.

MY OPINION: Loved it! I wasn’t sure. After the first few pages, I thought we were going into a mystery, but this turned into a wonderful contemporary romance. First, the setting in Greece was such a nice touch, and it really felt like you were there enjoying the sea and the beach. I love how Hayden brings you into the environment.

These two men are great. Even though they both are a bit of a mess they seem to have a healthy dose of confidence, both of which don’t see that in themselves. Percy is a sweet man, almost an accidental billionaire, who has never really settled into his wealth. There are a few ways he shows just how powerful he is, but generally, he is just an average guy with a nosy family that wants him happy, which includes finding his person. I wanted to nudge him along and show him how great he was.

Finn joins Percy because Percy needs a fake boyfriend, but Finn has his own reasons for not being in the United States for a bit. There are reasons, and he should share them with Percy, especially when the fake boyfriend turns into something more real. It turns out the family that is all up in his business is a lot more perceptive than he realizes.

All of the side characters in this book are fun, from the overly affectionate parents to his sister who seems to miss nothing. They add some great layers to the story. I liked everything around this, including the twist and how sweet Percy handles it. It just made me happy and tingly. There are some lovely spice scenes that are appropriate for the story.

This is the book if you want a great romance with great guys in a gorgeous backdrop. Again, if you like low-angst, loving men with a little bit of baggage, this is the book. If you just want a great MM romance… Also, this is the book. Loved it. Read it!

Here's Hayden Hall latest novel: "Faking Ever After."

["This trip to Greece was supposed to be simple—play the part of the perfect boyfriend, soak up the sun, and help my best friend’s billionaire boss survive his family’s relentless questions.

Stopping myself from falling for real."]

Each author has their own thing. Hayden’s? Beautifully written poetry-like prose and a story that is both wonderful and devastating.

These two were turned pessimistic by life. Neither of them had much trust in hope or love. Of course, that’s what the universe threw them together and put them on a gorgeous Greek island for two weeks of falling in love and hoping that the tentative trust they build it enough.

I don’t know what it is about Hayden’s book, but venue though there’s always a HEA, I’m left still a little sad at the end (maybe that’s just the reality of life and its unfairness that is woven into the stories).

Percy and Finn's story was a delightful fake-boyfriends-turned-real adventure in Greece. Despite the initial tension that accompanied Finn on the plane, once he and Percy made it to their destination they settled into a much more relaxed pace. Percy's family were quite the riot, and I had so much fun watching Finn match their exuberance while Percy tried to hide away in embarrassment. The romance built slowly between them, both men trying to convince themselves that they weren't allowed to feel things for the other while unable to stop their hearts from falling. For me, at times the romance was a little too subtly written, but I still enjoyed watching Finn and Percy get to know each other as friends. They had a few misunderstandings, some family drama to spice things up, and eventually, a wonderfully sweet and steamy romance that left me feeling warm and fuzzy inside. I knew the biggest moment of tension would be whenever the things Finn was running from caught up to him, and it was pretty easy for me to see that coming from miles away. I wasn't dissatisfied with the way that particular plotline resolved itself, but it did bother me that we never found out why the villain made the choices he did. I suppose his motives didn't make a difference once he was out of Percy and Finn's lives, but I find it hard to believe that they could all turn their backs so easily without trying to seek out more answers. Either way, Finn and Percy did get the happy ending of their dreams, and it was pretty cute to see them all loved up on their honeymoon ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives together.

I received a free copy. This review is being submitted voluntarily.

Finn has stolen a thumb drive from a billionaire who runs a scheme where in he steals money from poorer people, including Finn’s family. He has planned his escape to coincide with his friend Kim walking her dog. She takes him in and arranges for him to accompany her boss for two weeks in Greece to celebrate Percy’s parents’ 35th anniversary. Percy is a man who invented an encryption program and sold the company for billions. He now spends all his time as a venture capitalist (he hates that title) backing people with good ideas. The adventure begins on Percy’s private jet and then his yacht, eventually arriving on the Greek island of Naxos. They spend a lot of time together and end up falling in love. Finn spends a lot of time feeling guilty about using Percy and his family to hide. Percy Is a billionaire without any clue about how Finn feels about him. They go through a few problems on their way to a happy ending.

This was a really good book. The plot had a few twists to keep it interesting, as well as a few surprises. The main characters were well suited to each other, despite both having doubts (as usual). They each had offsetting strengths and weaknesses that made it clear that they were indeed made for each other. The secondary characters, while relatively limited in number, had a substantial influence on the plot, in some cases with comic relief, in others in common sense advice, and again in others in terms of villainy. This story is a bit of a departure from the author’s previous works that I’ve read, but I would love to see more like it.

I can highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book!
There were so many laughs, a little intrigue, a deceptive bad guy, a well timed getaway, a misguided offer, a misunderstanding, some heartbreak, a sisterly intervention, a wonderfully crazy family full of antics, and two very sweet men slowly connecting in a deeply genuine way and finding a forever love - one that is passionate, steady, and true.
Percy is shy and awkward, a little clueless socially, and very sweet. He loves his family even though they drive him crazy, and his intelligence and what he created made them very wealthy.
Finn is sassy and vibrant, but also vulnerable. He also loves his family and is doing his best to right a horrible wrong that was done to them, he is struggling financially.
They are instantly attracted to one another, but the fake part is tripping them up. Percy doesn't think Finn could really like him and Finn feels he couldn't fit in with Percy's wealthy status, as well as feeling guilty for also using Percy to escape his situation and that he is - in his eyes - a thief.
Things move quickly between them, yet doesn't feel rushed. They get along well and have many laughs, so it isn't a surprise that genuine feelings come through almost instantly. They are compatible in many ways, including the sexy times.
This book was highly entertaining and has two amazing MC's that get their HEA.
I would definitely recommend this book.

I received an ARC, this is my honest opinion.

Was good and had decent set up for the romance and conflict, but kinda fumbles both at the end.

The start of the fake boyfriend situation was pretty good, but I think the story could've drawn out the mutual acknowledgement of attraction a bit more. As it is, it feels like Finn and Percy fell for each other after a day when there was so much more room for romantic tension.

Us finding out that Ritchie was the guy Finn stole from was good, but Finn running away after was stupid and melodramatic considering how it didn't make sense (and Finn acknowledging it didn't make sense doesn't make it automatically excusable).

Percy completely believing Finn was also similarly disappointing because it took all of the tension and drama out of what should've been the romantic climax. I would've liked Percy to not have immediately believed Finn considering how he had been friends with Ritchie for so long and even defended Ritchie from his family.

Percy's family truly was annoying and I didn't like the story was framing them to be caring when in reality they really were just judgemental, inconsiderate, and nosey. Aunt Judith in particular was the worst, continuing to try and set Percy up with other men despite him already having a boyfriend (even if Finn was still fake at the time) and bringing Benny and keeping him around despite knowing how he was hounding Percy for money. Emily was alright, but seemed a bit too knowledgeable with regards to Finn and Percy's feelings towards each other, to the point where it felt a bit too convenient.

The ending where Ritchie just gets arrested was kind of the cherry on top of an unsatisfying sundae since there was also no tension whatsoever because we knew that the family didn't like him, Percy was on Ritchie's side, and had already cracked the encryption on the drive.

TL;DR: Promising start that unfortunately ends up with too quick of a romance and next to zero tension anywhere which makes for a generally fluffy story.

Faking Ever After by Hayden Hall is a charming fake relationship romance between a man on the run and the billionaire who captures his heart.

Finn Connolly is determined to take down the billionaire responsible for ruining his family in a cryptocurrency scam. After weeks of planning, he manages to steal a flash drive with incriminating evidence—but cracking its security proves tricky. While lying low, Finn’s friend Kim lands him an unexpected opportunity: billionaire Percy Davenport needs a fake boyfriend for his parents’ 35th wedding anniversary in Greece. It’s the perfect cover.

Percy, a self-made billionaire, is far from the typical arrogant tycoon. Shy and thoughtful, he’s more interested in supporting fresh ideas than flaunting his wealth. As Finn joins him in Mykonos, what starts as a fake relationship quickly becomes something real. Between private jet rides, sun-soaked island adventures, and family gatherings, the chemistry between them becomes undeniable.

But Finn’s secret mission looms, and when his past catches up to him, it threatens everything he’s built with Percy. Yet, love proves stronger. After Finn confesses the truth, Percy stands by him, helping take down the man who hurt Finn’s family.

This book is full of heart, humour, and heat. Finn’s sunny charm perfectly balances Percy’s grounded nature, and the Davenport family adds warmth and laughter to the story. The epilogue offers a satisfying glimpse into their future, tying it all together beautifully.

If you love fake dating, opposites attract, a little suspense, and a billionaire with a big heart, Faking Ever After is a must-read. Highly recommend!

A sweet take on the billionaire trope. We come into the story kind of in medias res with Finn stealing a USB drive full of evidence from the home of a man he's bent on getting revenge on. This man is a scammer that stole his family's life savings and left his sister without her college fund. Finn has lied his way into the man's bed and now needs to escape being caught by him before the USB drive can be delivered to the authorities. Finn's friend Kim works for tech billionaire Percy. Percy needs a fake boyfriend to go with him on a family trip to Greece to keep his parents from hounding him about his personal life (or lack there of). Kim puts the two together and off they go. Even though there are some awkward missteps, the 2 MCs have immediate chemistry and the line between fake and real starts to blur. Just as they start to act on those feelings, Percy's ex arrives and things get dicey. I won't reveal the twist but it's a good one.

This was a fun, sweet, and sexy read. Hall always adds a good dose of sugar with the spice. I loved that the billionaire wasn't the typical Daddy or Dom type that oft times happens with that trope. And the side characters are fantastic. Percy's parents and aunt are hysterical. Just a really good time.

I do enjoy fake relationships, the awkwardness at the start, the thinking that they are fooling everyone and the change when it comes reality.
Finn needs to go into hiding when he takes something he shouldn't of have. Needing to get away he quickly accepts the role of "pretend" boyfriend to billionaire Percy, who agrees to bring his boyfriend to a family party.
I loved Percy straightaway, he was not your typical billionaire that you come across. When he wasn't in the boardroom, he was shy, blush at a drop of a hat and completely out of his depth when it comes to relationships. Finn was a happy chappy and even though he was in danger he was the life and soul of the island, although I did think at times he was a bit over the top and didn't take what was happening to him serious enough.
The scenic descriptions of Greece took me back to one of my holidays and I could imagine walking in their footsteps as they get to know each other. There is a lot of laugh out loud moments and it was mainly thanks to Finn and Auntie Judith, what a woman, although when Percy's parents started, well I do not want to spoil it for you.
This is low angst slow burn romance, evenly paced story. The drama was perfectly timed and the twist I never saw coming. Overall a good read

Finn stole a thumb drive from a poncy scam running billionaire. He goes to his friend , Kim, for aid. Percy promised to bring his boyfriend to Greece for his parent's anniversary. Except he doesn't have a boyfriend. He turns to his PA, Kim, for help. Kim solves both problems by sending Finn with Percy.
This was a fast moving fake boyfriends story. Aside from delivering the information on the drive to the authorities, Finn is at a loss for what's next in his life. Percy invented a coded security program in college and became a billionaire. Socially awkward, he's buried himself in his company. They're perfect for each other, they're each the missing pieces of the other's soul.
After getting past the required 'can't take advantage,' the two fall into bed. And they sizzle. Kindle melting, pearl clutching. Hayden Hall certainly can write a smexy scene.
The worldbuilding is excellent, gorgeous descriptions of the Greek Cyclades. Percy's family, including the villa caretakers, are hilarious. I did see the bad guy coming.
The book was a delight to read. Quick. No real angst. Two sweet men.
I received an advanced copy from the author and this is my review.

FAKING EVER AFTER - HAYDEN HALL

As always, Hayden Hall takes us on an adventure. This time the beautiful background is Greece, and as we get to know Finn and Percy, the smiles are endless and you will enjoy their journey to HEA.

Finn was looking for a place to lay low and figure out how to get justice for his family from a con artist who talked them out of their money, when he runs into his old friend Kim and she comes up with the perfect solution. Enter billionaire boss Percy who has to go to the Greek islands for his parents 35th Wedding Anniversary, and Percy needs a pretend boyfriend so his family will leave him in peace and quit trying to matchmake for him every time he is in town.

There is intrigue, there is humor that will make you laugh out loud when you read it, and there are wonderful characters you will want to have as your family when you spend time with them on this crazy island. Places described so well you feel like you are there with Finn and Percy every chapter of the book.

If you have not read Hayden Hall, add him to your list, you will enjoy his stories.

Ah, to be in Greece again!
That's what I was thinking throughout the whole book.

In the beginning we meet Finn, running away from a man he stole incriminating information from, needing a place to lie low. He runs into his friend Kim, who helps him. And then we meet Percy, who just agreed to go to his parents' anniversary party with a boyfriend he doesn't have. Cue in Kim, his assistant. And thus Finn gets to go on a holiday out of the city, and Percy gets a boyfriend.

The two get along splendidly, and feelings start to form. But they could never work, right. There are secrets, past hurt, and social expectations between them.

I loved how sassy and lively Finn was, and how surprisingly shy Percy was - except in the bedroom.

And even if the plot twist is quite easy to see, I was still at the edge of my seat trying to think how this could end in happy ever after.

But it does, so dreamily. Under the Grecian sun.

Let me start by saying I’ve never been to Greece, but this book makes me want to go right away. Hayden Hall really set the scene, and I felt like I was walking along the beach with the characters.

I’m Faking Ever After, we meet Finn and Percy. Finn has just escaped from stealing a very important flash drive that he stole in an effort to avenge his family. He seeks out Kim, an old friend, to help him figure out the best place to lie low and figure things out. Percy, Kim’s boss, has just lied to his parents about having a boyfriend to bring to their anniversary party. Oops? Kim to the rescue with the perfect fake boyfriend, Finn.

As per usual, things that start off as fake quickly blur into something tangible. These two have great chemistry, and the banter is top notch. Both are just totally adorable. And Percy’s family was also great. Things are going smoothly until Finn’s drama catches up to him in an unexpected way. The book itself is a pretty quick read, mostly low angst with a bit of push/pull towards the end. Hayden always writes characters that you can’t help but love, and these two were no exception.

This is a standout in the fake boyfriend genre.

Right from the beginning the story held my attention.

Finn is in over his head. He set out to do something as revenge but is finding out that his plan was not thought out. He knows he has to hide but doesn't have anything lined up to do this. He then calls his bff Kim and this sets a whole new life path in motion for Finn.

Percy’s life is pretty routine until it comes to his family. He is backed into a corner about attending his parent’s anniversary and he needs a date for it. His assistant Kim comes with a plan A and plan B. Luckily plan A seems to work and this sets Percy’s life in a totally unexpected direction.

These two together are so heartwarming. Percy’s family is extremely entertaining and the interaction of Finn with them is touching. This story is a great beginning to a new series and I can’t wait for the next story.

This fast-paced romance delivers an exciting mix of action, humor, and heartwarming moments. Finn, on the run after stealing an encrypted flash drive containing incriminating evidence of a Ponzi scheme that swindled his family, finds himself in need of a safe place to hide. Meanwhile, Percy, desperate for a fake boyfriend to take to his parent’s anniversary celebration in Greece. What starts as a convenient arrangement quickly turns into something more as real feelings develop between them. The novel is packed with delightful moments—endearing, hilarious, sweet, and even a little spicy. The Greek setting is beautifully described, transporting readers right into its stunning landscapes and lively atmosphere. Percy’s family is over-the-top but endlessly entertaining, adding plenty of hilarious moments. With intriguing twists, fun characters, this is a wonderfully entertaining romance filled with humor and engaging characters. A highly enjoyable read!
