Underworld

Underworld is a Hades and Persephone retelling, set in 1960s Vegas.

Dimitri is the type of man who drips with sex appeal. Tall is an understatement. Thick hair he always has styled to perfection. He is handsome as he is dangerous. He can have any woman he wants, but Dimitri wants her. He’s had his eye on Daphne in the past but he never slept with his staff. That’s until he comes face to face with his little waitress in one of his interrogation rooms.

Daphne is a dreamer. She just doesn’t know what she wants, but she knows it's got to be better than this. As a waitress in a 1960s Vegas casino, she isn’t surprised to find out The Black Daffodil is in fact run by the mob. But now that she knows, she wishes she didn’t.

What does surprise her though is who the head of the mob is. Never in a million years would she have thought she’d come face to face with a man that towers over her, so beautiful she can barely breathe when she looks at him.

Is she scared for her life? Or does she want to get into his bed?

Daphne has never been in a situation such as this before. She never wanted to leave her mother behind, that’s why she never left Vegas. But now, she’s stuck, and she has no choice but to leave the life she once lead.

What happens when Daphne is forced to live outside of her physical bubble? Or when Dimitri is forced to face his emotions, and trauma about relationships?

One can say quite a bit in 200 pages, in this case much of the plot was lost and the book literally just stopped with no conclusion.
I love a Hades and Persephone retelling set in the mafia world, but there should be plot along with the spice.
