Accidentally confessing to the owner of the company I planned to sabotage wasn’t my smoothest move.
CharlotteI may have vented in an email to a sweet single dad about trying to save a local landmark from a greedy real estate developer. But the last thing I expected was for my online friend to show up in this dinky town looking for me. Or that I’d see his stern face and want to climb Arden McRae like a sexy tree.

Arden is determined to keep me on the straight and narrow. I’m desperate to protect a secret hidden in that building. Now, I’m falling for the last man I need digging up dirt in Blackwater.

ArdenThe money I sent Charlotte Miller and called an “insurance payout” was only the beginning.

When Charlotte ranted in an e-mail about a “soulless town-devouring monster,” she had no idea she was complaining to me … about me. My plan? Talk some sense into the sassy single mom and continue the project as scheduled.

The problem? When it comes to Charlotte Miller, I never stick to the plan.

She doesn't know it, but she's not just my friend. She's the love of my life. If Charlotte wants to save this crumbling community theater, that's what I'll do. The bigger the renovation, the better. What could possibly go wrong?

Set in the 1990s, Ardently Yours is a swoony emotional rollercoaster featuring steamy romance, a sprinkle of suspense, and snort-giggle shenanigans between two single parents raising precocious kids. Happily Ever After Guaranteed. *Ardently Yours contains adult themes and situations that may be disturbing to some readers. I received an ARC of this book and I loved it so much. I feel like I say this about every one of Evangeline Williams’ books but this is my favorite one and with each book you can see her skills as an author continue to develop.

Ms. Williams hits all my favorite tropes with this one. Age gap. A man obsessed. A single parent (x 2!). I love how Charlotte and Arden’s relationship develops. There is an epistolary element to this book through emails. I love when this is used because puts a spot light on the yearning (see a man obsessed).

Evangeline also knows how to write an FMC. She has a way of writing a strong FMC where being strong and bad ass isn’t her whole personality and makes dumb decisions in an effort to not need other people’s help.

This might also be the spiciest book of this series! Granted this is subjective but I’d definitely rate it medium to high on the spice meter.

Overall for me this is a solid 5 star book! A fun, well paced story. Relatable and engaging characters. And I now want to go back and reread Bronwyn’s book!

Ardently Yours was a 5 star read for me. I had the pleasure of ALC Listening to it early.
First the narration by Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost was perfect 👌🏽. The narrators did a wonderful job with multiple characters.
Secondly the story is was well written. The story following Charlotte young women who finds herself widowed with a child in a small town dealing with multiple twits. Then there's Arden billionaire lawyer who happens to be a single parent who is also struggling in he own way. The characters are very reliable and funny. I definitely recommend it!

*AUDIOBOOK REVIEW*
3.5*
The first half I struggled to connect with, as they are mainly pen pals and so you follow their correspondence back and forth over a few years. So you essentially just get snippets, and there is a disconnect between the reader and characters and it ends up feeling more of a summary. It also felt like it was mainly the FMC using the emails as a way to just communicate about her life, more than finding out more about him.
But once you get passed all the back and forth emails, and they start meeting up, it feels more interesting and I really got into it.
I really liked the MMC, probably more so than the FMC.
Would have preferred more delving into the more serious and traumatic parts of the story, but this is a more fluffy/cute read so I don't think it made me dislike the story in any way, and that's more personal preference.
The plot was good, and combined with the characters and watching their relationship develop, I really liked it.
Henry was by far my favourite character, and I don't like squishy hugs either!

ALC Review:
Duet Narration by Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost

Tropes:
Online friendship → real-life romance
Opposites attract
MMCs are single parents
Anti-hero MMC
Small town + hidden past

Ardently Yours is everything I love in a heartfelt small-town romance with a nostalgic 90s backdrop. The You’ve Got Mail energy between Arden and Charlotte is undeniable—quiet communication, meaningful connection, and chemistry you can feel.

Charlotte reaches out to her anonymous online friend for legal help, never imagining he’ll show up in person. Arden arrives with the intention to support her from afar, but their bond deepens in ways neither expected. Their respect for each other, their honesty, and their willingness to face the past together made their love story powerful and beautiful.

I went through a full journey—anger for Charlotte, frustration at the townspeople, laughing at Arden’s small-town struggles, and full-on swooning at how much he cared.

Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost were absolutely amazing. Savannah captures Charlotte’s heart and resilience perfectly, while Gideon brings Arden’s guarded, anti-hero charm to life with such authenticity.

And I have to mention this: every chapter being named after a late ‘80s–‘90s song was such a fun, nostalgic touch. It made the reading experience better.

Thank you to the author for this unforgettable ALC!

This was great! No cheating, No OP drama or scenes!
Duet style narration 5/5 🎧
Story 4,5/5 ⭐️
Spice 3/5 🌶️
Loved this cozy, heartwarming, spicy with a splash of intrigue novel, set in mid 90”s!
Both MCs are widowed with children from previous relationships but the romance doesn’t focus nor does it detail their past relationships, there’s no yearning or overly fond reminiscing about said partners!
MMC is very “down bad” for the FMC and pursues her for many years!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
🎤 Duet narration by Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Performance: 🎤🎤🎤🎤.5
Spice Level: 🌶️🌶️ 🌶️

👀POV: Dual, first person, present tense
📖 What to expect: single mum x single dad, opposites attract, age gap, secret benefactor, pen pals, dark grey humour, spicy role play

The shenanigans that take place in this book! This is a prequel to the already published Trust & Tequila series (which focuses on the kids of the couple in this book), set in the 90s and spanning 7 years. Charlotte meets Arden on the day of her fiancé, Steve’s, funeral in their hometown. Arden is a wealthy lawyer – and a single dad – from New York and Steve’s former boss. Charlotte is a 20 year old college student from a small town, shunned by her religious community for being a “bad girl.” And now to add to that, she’s an unwed expectant mother who’s had to give up her scholarship at Columbia University and move back home where her family don’t have a lot but are very supportive. Arden feels like it’s his duty to make sure she’s taken care of, because Steve can’t. (Seems a bit odd, but we find out later why he feels so strongly about this.) He offers her his help, and their subsequent email correspondence sparks an unexpected connection.

This is going to be a short review because I don’t want to give anything away. This story is a good balance of humour, emotional depth, steamy tension and character growth. They’ve both got precocious kids who get up to all kinds of shenanigans, and charm us with their candidness and innocent outlook. Charlotte and her friends are another source of laughs. There’s an incident that involves a shovel that shouldn’t be funny, but it is. I like how Charlotte and Arden’s relationship developed. It was a slow, gradual deepening of their connection over years. He did some things behind the scenes to make her life easier and some readers may not like it, but I thought it was tender and protective. Charlotte is strong and independent, never letting adversity get the better of her. Even when her confidence falters when she’s introduced to Arden’s social circle, she manages to stand up for herself – and it’s great to watch. In that moment, we also see how Arden supports her without undermining her independence. I like how they find a balance between their two worlds, taking pleasure in the simple joys of everyday life, while enjoying the advantages of Arden’s wealth and social standing.

The narrators really brought this entertaining story to life. Savannah Thomas is a new-to-me narrator, although I’ve been watching her videos on TikTok for ages and I’m definitely going to be looking for more of her work. She perfectly conveys Charlotte’s warm personality, her strength and resilience. Gideon Frost embodies Arden’s quiet intensity and protectiveness, as well as his more vulnerable side. I enjoyed their portrayals of the kids, but especially Henry. Gideon Frost captured the subtle differences in his speech and how he interprets things literally, conveying both his thoughtfulness and his unique perspective in a way that felt very authentic. Together, they put on a very engaging performance.

Overall, this was a thoroughly enjoyable listen, full of heart, humour, and a touch of suspense. It’s my first book by this author, and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

*I received an advance copy from the author. These thoughts are entirely my own.

Ardently Yours by Evangeline Williams is the first book in the McRea Legacy series, which is set in the Trust and Tequila world. I listened to the duet narrated audiobook, narrated by Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost. The FMC is Charlotte, a young woman who finds herself pregnant and forced to be a single mother when her fiancé dies in a car accident. She's stuck in the small town where she and her fiancé were raised, and both families still live. She has negative reputation in the community after accusing a high profile church member of assaulting her as a teen. The MMC is Arden, a billionaire lawyer whose reputation as a by the book prosecutor is almost as intense as his families multi-generational political legacy and fame. Arden was Charlotte's fiancé's employer at the time of his death, and he attends the funeral where he offers support to Charlotte. The story itself spans years and has a focus on the communication between the main characters, as well as their lives in general, as they grow closer.

The narration for this audiobook was fantastic! The narrators were able to voice multiple characters, with different accents, and make the voices distinct and different. You could tell that there was chemistry between the characters, and both narrators were able to express different emotions and passion in a way that made me hooked. They did a great job and were both perfect choices for these roles.

This story had my attention within the first few chapters! The world that the author created, in combination with the narration, made me feel immersed in the story. I loved the different layers to the characters, and while there was obviously back story with both characters, the author was able to explain their histories throughout the story in a way that felt natural. There were pieces of the plot that I definitely didn't see coming, and while I knew that the characters would finish the story with a HEA, the way that they made their way there was great. The epilogue made me want to know more about the other stories, and I'm looking forward to more from this author.

I received an advanced copy of this audiobook from the author thanks to the Duet Narration Audiobook Club Street Team in exchange for my honest review.

I received an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.....

And I was BLESSED. Listen. I've raved about the other books in this universe. But I would be lying to you if I didnt say they didn't each get consistently better. And this one is the story that was the beginning of it ALL because it's a prequel. Let me sum it up in several important key phrases.

Cinderella story. He fell first. Single parent(s). You've Got Mail (for the younger generation....they fall in love while communicating by email 😂). 90s? Sign me up. Kickass best friend that will help you bury a body (lol literally, if you know you know).

Do you want more? Masquerade ball. Hidden romance. SPICY SMUT.

Okay, now that you're hooked, let me introduce you to Charlotte Miller, a newly single/widowed mother from the sticks of PA who just wants a good life for her daughter in a judgy as hell shitty small town. And at her fiancé's funeral, she meets Arden McRae III. Fancy, famous prosecutor from a fancy, famous family in NYC, and also her fiancé's boss. He just wants to help in any way he can for the woman he's heard so much about, and this turns into a years-long email friendship, trading parenting war stories and life updates.

But Charlotte has some SECRETS and in trying to hide them, she asks Arden for his help. And the next time they meet in person, sparks are flying. But she has things that can't come to light, and he literally lives his life in the spotlight.

You guys. It's SO FREAKING GOOD. I finished it and immediately wanted to go back and reread. I cried and I laughed and I kicked my feet, so what more could you ask for?? And the fun easter egg appearances from characters in all the previous books? Just the cherry on top.

This book was a lovely surprise. It’s an epistolary novel, and a lot of the falling in love bits was by email between our protagonists.

Although it carries some of the usual obsessed billionaire who changes the female leads life without her consent bits - I really could live with his decisions and actions. So it has the billionaire bits and the fairy tale romance but it has them falling in love slowly (on her part at least) in a really organic way, it has really adorable children including a pirate princess, there’s a dilemma involving the best friend and a shovel which reminded me of Jennifer Crusie’s most wacky plot devices, there’s a badass rooster and lots of family support. But it all fit together to one great whole. I kept giggling reading it and thinking this book is not going to surprise me further, and then sit back and go, oh, when it surprised me again.

I’m so done with books where the poor female protagonist is up against the world, and has evil family members as well - with only the hero giving her redemption. This was refreshingly different. She has a great family. We don’t see much of them but they were unapologetically in her corner.

We get a lot of bits which showed them dealing with the realities of life post a Disney happy ever after - and I loved the book more for it.

Read it!

Charlotte is a small town mom and widow, and Arden is a big city prosecutor, dad, widower, and the former boss of Charlotte’s late husband. He brings her a life insurance payout and leaves his information with a simple “reach out anytime I’m needed” note. Set in the 1990s, their relationship grows through email, and I loved watching it unfold. It begins with everyday small talk and slowly shifts into deeper conversations where they lean on each other through tough moments with their children, which felt incredibly heartfelt.

The way the author uses their email correspondence to show the progression of time works so well. It builds the tension in their relationship and adds such a strong element of yearning as they grow closer despite the distance. I especially loved when they finally decide to take the leap and bring their kids together. The scene where they end up bonding over a smack talking game of cornhole felt so real and grounded.

The writing and pacing were great overall. I only noticed a couple of small inconsistencies, and since I was listening to the audio, I could not easily flip back to confirm. At one point on the yacht Bronnie was said to be five, but later at the cabin Arden tells the boys she is four. It was minor, but noticeable.

Overall, I loved this audio. It was a heartfelt slow burn with so much yearning, and it left me smiling at the end.

~Duet Narration~Savannah Thomas & Gideon Frost~

"Nothing is hurting you, Charlotte. Not your body or your heart. I’ll fight Satan himself to keep you safe."

♡This was my first read by Evangeline Williams & I devoured it in one sitting! The banter was top-tier hilarious & I loved how this book spoke to the mom in me when it came to the children. The amount of times I swooned over Arden in this book needs to be studied because I will accept nothing short of how obsessed this man is! If you by chance said well why Summer? LET ME TELL YOU! He had a perfumer make a perfume that smelled like Charlotte so he could smell her when he missed her! If that isn't love I DON'T WANT IT!

The duet narration for this audiobook was fantastic! Savannah & Gideon were the perfect pair to bring this amazing story to life. This story was packed to the brim with so much emotion & these two delivered an amazing performance & also did a phenomenal job bringing a voice to the children in this story along with every side character!

If you love an opposites attract romance with dark grey humor, two single parents, & a 90s vibe look no further!♡

🎧 Audiobook review 🎧⚡ Spoilers and profanities might lie ahead —I usually like to talk shit about everything that goes down in these books

This was interesting and genuinely cute. I loved the story and the characters — it’s always a treat to see strong women with real personality instead of cardboard cutouts. Ardent was a little cutie, I wanted to pat him on the head and then push him against a wall, depending on the chapter. The drama was fun, and the secondary characters were actually useful — they kept things moving instead of standing around like decorative plants. I listened to the audiobook and didn’t skip ahead at all, which is basically a miracle for me, because I get bored faster than a cat watching paint dry.

That being said… I wouldn’t revisit it. It’s a slow burn, and I’m not a huge fan of waiting nine centuries for people to kiss. The first part dragged a bit — it took years, yeeeears for them to finally get together, and when they did the spice was minimal. I needed more heat, more hunger, more “shut up and kiss me already”.

The audiobook is duet-style with great narrators, so at least my ears were very happy.

Duet narration - Gideon Frost & Savannah Thomas

This is an absolutely phenomenal listen. The writing, the humor, the character development is so good.
This was my first book by Evangeline Williams and I can say that I am
a fan.

Charlotte is a strong and fiesty FMC that has found herself single and pregnant. She is making it with the support of her friend and parents. She is also hiding some skeletons in her closet.

Arden is a big shot New York lawyer but also comes from a well known rich family. He supports Charlotte from a distance. He’s so sexy, swoony, and all around a great book boyfriend.

I truly loved this book. I laughed, I swooned, I kicked my feet while listening. The characters are loveable and relatable. I can’t say it enough how good this book is. I need to order the paperback I need a trophy for my shelf!!

What a whirlwind tour you'll go on in this story!

From the outset we meet Charlotte Miller, a young pregnant ladies who attends her fiancee's funeral. She feels like an outcast in her hometown. She meets Arden McCrae, a man whom employed Steve. He endows her with some insurance money of Steve's and keeps a loose email connection across Charlotte and her newborn daughter's life.

I won't give any spoilers, but lets just stay there are twists, turns, drama, action, romance, spice, mystery and heartwarming moments.

I enjoyed this book. I listened to it whilst working (and at times had to listen very quietly during the spice scenes) and felt drawn in from the first chapter. It is a long book and I admit that about halfway through I was wondering where it would go, but it didn't disappoint.

The story left me feeling warm on the inside and inspired to go forth and continue to stand up for myself and my daughters in the future.

Did I spend hours kicking my feet over a man that had perfumers make a scent that smelled like her for when he missed her? Yes. Do I have any regrets? No.

I am a huge fan of Evangeline William’s books, she make such lovable and realistic characters even in wild romance book situations. Ardently Yours was no exception. I laughed so hard I had to pause reading to send my friends feral voice notes about it, I cried for these characters, and I was swept in from the very first chapter. The little Easter eggs of the main characters from the original books? Perfection. The pining? Everything. The personal growth? A therapist would be so proud. The creative shovel usage? I hope Evangeline gets a shovel company sponsorship.

This book was such a fun read from start to finish. I could not recommend it more. May we all have a cousin that brings her own shovel.

I got an eARC of this. Overall, it’s a cute, romantic story and was a nice comfort listen after all my dark romance/fantasy reads recently. However I was left a little disappointed in the first half of the story. It felt like things weren’t properly explained or dropped into the storyline abruptly with no context which left me a little confused. It all just felt a little too rushed in the first half. Charlotte went so quickly from meeting him for the first time to immediately messaging him and asking him his baby name recommendations and telling him all about her life and her traumatic past - that seemed a little unbelievable to me. I did like Charlotte and Arden’s romance in the second half and I found myself rooting for them in the end.

Your husband dies, you k*ll someone and bury them in a theatre basement while you have a newborn, and you fall in love with your dead husbands attorney?! This book started off so interesting and kept me intrigued throughout the whole book.i love a 90s vibe to a book, anything that gives me a little bit of a nostalgia kick. Charlotte and Arden communicate via email exchanges for the better half of the book and it was such a fun way to portray their bond and the love that grew. Anytime there is letters, emails, texts in a book it’s one of my most favorite parts of the book. I highly recommend listening, the narrators were fantastic and it’s a duet. I loved how they did the kids voices to match their personality it was so well done!

I received an Arc of this book and it was absolutely fantastic. I was already invested in Arden and Charlotte from the other Trust and Tequila books but this really took it over the top.

Evangeline Williams is the queen of the slow burn for me. I have no trouble believing in the pairings she writes because every page is filled with relationship building events. The epistolary style of Ardently Yours made *me* fall in love with them. You really get to witness them learning to be good partners to one another.

Five bright and shining stars for Ardently Yours and I can't WAIT for more from Evangeline Williams.

I had the pleasure of receiving an ALC of this book and loved it. The voice actors did a wonderful job with this.

As for the story, it was beautiful. I especially loved the emails back and forth. I’m a sucker for text communication (letters, emails, texts, I love them all). I think the subject matter was relatable and the characters were easy to connect with which made for an easy to follow story. I love that Charlotte wasn’t influenced by Arden’s money or “fame.” I found her to be such a down to earth, hopeful, humble person.

This is my first read by Evangeline and I really enjoyed it. I think I’m going to start at the beginning of this series and see what I missed.

ALC narrated by SavannahThomas and Gideon Frost

Meeting your fiancés boss for the first time at a funeral is not ideal, when the funeral is your fiancees it's even worse. Add in that you are about to become a single mother and the small town you live in doesn't think highly of you and things get even worse. It's a meet cute that's not so cute, under the circumstances. But add in a long, slow burn, a little mystery and intrigue, and you have yourself a heck of a story. This is a standalone HEA. Would recommend to anyone.

Ardently Yours is a cozy, emotional slow-burn set in the 1990s that follows Charlotte and Arden as their connection grows over the years. The story mixes heartfelt moments with plenty of humor, especially thanks to their lively kids and one very funny shovel situation.

Charlotte’s strength and Arden’s steady, supportive presence make their relationship easy to root for. The duet narration by Savannah Thomas and Gideon Frost is smooth, expressive, and brings so much warmth to the story.

This review is based on the audiobook. The narrators, Savannah Thomas & Gideon Frost, did an excellent job bringing this story and its characters to life.

Once started I could hardly stop listening. The story was intriguing right from the beginning. It definitely is a slow burn romance, with some thrilling elements. I loved it from the start, but was absolutely hooked nearing the end. And I also loved the kids, specifically Henry after his action at their stay at the cabin.

ARDENTLY YOURS was not at all what I expected and I loved it. It is one of my favorite this year. Arden and Charlotte’s worlds could not be more different but run on a clever parallel. From the moment he shows up at her late fiancé’s funeral, I was hooked.

This was heart gripping, romantic, clever and humorous. In reading an advance copy, I can recommend this to anyone looking for a book to immerse yourself in and enjoy despite the inevitable messiness of these lives.

I absolutely adored this and the friendship that first happened and then the love that blossomed as time went on. Arden wanting her to only grow and live her dreams was the freaking best part of all. Even with the secret she keeps from him till near the end it was everything I wanted in a book. If I could give this anymore stars it would be 1000/5.

it seemed to be a bit rushed and missing details, with lots of time passing between chapters. I found the books description and listening didn't match up, I will grab the book and see if maybe being on audio was why.
