A slave to my designation. An object for others to exploit.
Damaged goods.
Having a life of my own was taken the day that I emerged as an omega. I’ve been a punching bag for my father ever since.
But being shattered beyond repair never stopped me from dreaming, no matter how futile. I just didn’t realise that my dream would come true on the first day of my final year at Ridgeview Academy.
Theo, Jax and Ledger. My knights in shining armour.
It’s never just as easy as storming the castle to save the princess. There is always a dragon to slay.
It turns out that my knights have secrets of their own. Secrets of a world that terrifies just as much as thrills me.
When the realities of a life that I had led for so long comes knocking on our door, will I ever have my happily ever after?
My first Omegaverse and I can tell you now it was a wild ride for sure! I loved many aspects of it like the mafia, why choose and fated mates aspect. I’m a sucker for those. I enjoyed how fast paced and intense the story was. I was always on edge about what was going to happen next. I utterly adored Theo. A soft and super caring alpha who was so protective over Kennedy.
Personally I don’t think omega-verses are for me! I found the constant mention of alpha and omega abit cringe but that’s my own take from it. I have my choice of words I get super cringed out by and it just happens all words were mentioned hahah!! So I was GAGGING 😂
Alexcis and her writing is something I will forever love because she always has me on edge wanting more with every page!
I had high hopes for this one, but it just fell a bit short for me. There are a lot of errors and some sentences seem like a thesaurus was used (incorrectly) to change words.
The basis of the story had potential and I think with a longer story, more care and more editing, it could have been great. Unfortunately there was no character development and a lot of conflicting behaviors, especially from the FMC. She’s been physically and emotionally abused for the majority of her life. She has no contact with people outside of her father and his associates. Her entire life is heavily controlled by her father and she is punished for the smallest things, such as making noise. She has no friends or family. Has never had a boyfriend or self-pleasured. However, the day after she meets her pack, she’s gone home with them, having s$x, standing up to her father and swearing. She gets a rib broken the day she meets her mates, but a day later she’s doing a full day of shopping and having s$x. Her alphas are aware of the abuse and that she’s covered head to toe in bruises, but they don’t get her medical attention until a day later and that’s only because she’s never had a heat and is worried she can’t have kids. To name just some of the things that would be completely out of character for an abuse victims in this circumstance.
From there, it doesn’t really improve. The whole story is set over 2 weeks and one of those weeks she’s held captive away from her mates. They don’t get to know each other, talk, have any sort of communication. There is a lot of internal thoughts and pondering, and I ended up skimming over it because it didn’t add to the storyline at all. They are supposedly 23 ish and finishing college, but they act like they are in high school and the “college” is set up like a high school, with a homeroom and a full day of classes.
Knot So Broken by Alexcis Morris is a raw and emotionally intense dark mafia omegaverse that dives headfirst into trauma, survival, and the fragile hope that refuses to die—even when everything else feels lost. This story doesn’t shy away from the darkest corners of pain, but it balances that darkness with fierce devotion, protection, and the promise of healing.
Kennedy is an Omega who has endured years of abuse and degradation, leaving her convinced she is weak and disposable. Yet beneath that broken exterior is a quiet resilience that slowly begins to surface as she finds herself surrounded by people who refuse to let her suffer alone. Her growth throughout the story is one of the strongest elements—watching her claim her voice, her worth, and her inner strength is incredibly satisfying.
Her bond with Jax, Theo, and Ledger is where the story truly shines. Each Alpha carries his own scars and struggles, yet together they form a pack built on protection, patience, and unwavering loyalty. Their dynamic with Kennedy is beautifully balanced—fierce when it comes to keeping her safe, gentle when she needs reassurance, and deeply emotional in the way they lean on her just as much as she leans on them. Kennedy becomes their calm in the storm, proving that strength doesn’t always look loud or aggressive—it can be quiet, steady, and rooted in love.
What makes Knot So Broken stand out is its emotional depth. This is not just a dark romance—it’s a story about reclaiming yourself after trauma and learning that love doesn’t have to hurt to be real. The mafia elements add danger and tension without overshadowing the heart of the story, the omegaverse dynamics heighten the intimacy and stakes without overshadowing Kennedy’s healing journey, and the found-family aspect adds another layer of warmth and support that reinforces the message that Kennedy is no longer alone.
While I truly enjoyed the pacing, character development, and emotional payoff, the presence of grammatical errors was noticeable, which is the ONLY reason this is not a full five-star read. That said, the story itself is compelling, heartfelt, and well worth the read.
This book is a powerful reminder that even after being shattered, a person can still rise—and that sometimes, all it takes is finding the right pack to help you see the strength that was inside you all along.
(⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ — 4.5/5 stars rating... I would definitely still recommend this book).
Had the pleasure of reading this as an early release prior to publishing. Multiple tropes, morally grey men (3 of them), double penetration, check your triggers. Fated mate bonds. Great read!
Anyone who loves omegaverse and a side of dark romance/mafia romance will definitely enjoy Knot So Broken. I believe this is Alexcis Morris’s first OV book but I hope it won’t be her last. I loved a lot of aspects of this story and the characters.
Kennedy is a 23-year old omega being abused by her father. She attends college but it seems like she’s only there because she’s forced to be, isolating herself from any friends and even attempting to always be perfect in front of her professors in case word gets back to her father. It’s in home room (was confused by this as it’s a university not high school but maybe it’s a custom in Australia where the author is from) that she meets Theo. He recognizes immediately that they’re scent matches and instantly wants to follow her around everywhere. She then meets his packmates Jax and Ledger. They’re as enamored and obsessed as Theo.
They realize she’s being abused and that her father is trying to sell her off to the Mullen pack—a pack of gross alphas—and bring her home to live with them. Jax actually ends up accidentally bonding her right in class when she bares her throat to him. I personally loved this because I’m honestly tired of bonding being the main event that readers have to wait for at the end of every OV book and while shocked, she doesn’t get upset and comforts Jax when he feels remorse and panics at what he did without her consent. With their love and care, Kennedy is able to start to become who she always should have been. She was never even allowed to have a nest or eat a lot of different foods so they take her to a nesting store. This scene was so cute because she got so excited about the different textures and it’s probably the first time we get to see her start to let her walls down.
The entire story takes place over the course of only about two weeks until the epilogue. And while it should have felt too quick for their relationship to progress the way it did (they’re all bonded within a few days), I didn’t feel that way because they all seem so genuine in their care for each other. Plus, in OV with matches especially, instalove makes sense to me. I was actually so relieved by this aspect of the book because I tend to get frustrated with OV books who take forever to accept each other as the fated mates they are. Like, you’re fated by the universe to be together, what is there to consider when you’re literally made for each other?
What I really loved: -bonding was not reserved for the ending -they all actively communicate with each other. This was such a relief. When Kennedy was being bullied in class, she didn’t hide what the other omegas said to her to make her cry. When the guys are afraid of how she’ll react to their livelihoods as mafia members and the future son of said mafia, they don’t lie to her about it. This was amazing because miscommunication and lying is constantly overused in romance. -her alphas are so loving and gentle with her and she herself is super sweet and caring with them -Kennedy is adorable. -the big conflict at the end wasn’t so horrible to read -Kennedy becomes a bada** -her dads -their dads
The things I believe could use improvement: -I read this as an ARC so I didn’t rate based off of the grammar and spelling errors so I’m hoping those won’t be in the public version however, some of the writing feels stilted and awkward and at times, some of the wording feels somewhat juvenile for lack of a better word. I’m not sure how to explain it other than at times, the dialogue didn’t feel like how anyone would actually talk. I know the author is new to publishing books though so I think this is just a result of being a newer author. -when her bonds are taken from her and they re-bond with her, there’s no scene of Ledger bonding her again so I think it was forgotten to be written in. It definitely affected the enjoyment of the conclusion for me so I think that should be edited in for release -the bullying scene felt like something you’d see in middle school and not college. I do tend to read a lot of dark romance and I’m used to viciousness and while this was sad as heck to read through, it didn’t quite feel realistic to me or as awful as it could have been to really get the reader emotional and immersed. I can understand the jealousy, but the reactions to her being bonded to the new guys at school were a little crazy to me. Also, they all know she’s been being beaten but no one thought to help her? Not one person on the whole campus? -nesting. There was some at the beginning and I loved how she was often wrapped in blankets and being held in their laps, but she didn’t nest during her heat and that’s generally a big heat feature.
All in all, I genuinely loved Knot So Broken and will absolutely be excited for Alexcis Morris’s future OV books! Especially as a newer author and with this being—to my knowledge—her first omegaverse book, this was so good!

This is a dark Mafia omegaverse. While there are definitely dark elements, I actually found a lot of the story to be surprisingly sweet and caring—especially the relationship between the FMC and her pack. Their bond was beautiful to watch develop.
There were a few twists I did not see coming (and considering how rarely I’m surprised, that made me really happy!).
That said, there were some elements that didn’t sit quite right with me. I get that in omegaverse stories scent matches and heats drive a lot of the intimacy, but our FMC is a sheltered, abused 23-year-old who has learned to fear and stay unseen. So the fact that she immediately spread her legs and gave herself away in one day—without even being in heat—felt a little rushed and out of character.
In terms of character development, I liked that two of the pack were already in a relationship (nice touch!), but there was a lot of repetition, and some decisions felt inconsistent with the way characters were initially written. It pulled me out of the story at times, especially for the FMC.
Still, the overall concept was good and I loved several of the darker and twistier elements. Bonus points to the author for including a clear explanation of omegaverse at the start—super helpful if you’re new to the genre!
The story does also have quite a few formatting issues and spelling mistakes, which unfortunately often pulled me out of the flow. I actually reached out to the author on Instagram so I can share a list of what I found for correction, in hopes it can be cleaned up for future readers. Normally, I wouldn’t mention this in a public review and would just send a private message—but since I’ve noticed other reviews mentioning the same problems months ago, I’m not sure if edits are being made yet.
First, I got to read this book as an arc. The story is about an Omega named Kennedy who had a very rough childhood and meets her three scent matched alphas. The premise of the story was great. I can see where the outline could have started and where the story was going. Then everything went wrong for me in the details.
There was so much internal monologuing. It would have been great if the characters actually talked to each other. When they did talk to each other, things progressed. There was never miscommunication, just the complete lack of communication.
The timeline. A week? I get that omegaverse as it is, is a complete fantasy. But this all happens in a week. It was just very rushed for all of the events that happened.
Editing. I questioned multiple times if there even had been an editor or beta readers. There are multiple spots with glaringly obvious typos. Some sentences just randomly cut off. Example: Ch 4, pg 38 “He hasn’t said anything to her yet. I don’t expect him to for awhilSurprise. Shock. Obsession. Fear. Happiness.” Where is the rest of that sentence? What is the transition supposed to be? Example 2: Ch 14, pg 129 “It’s like he thought that is he put a softer edge to his wrath.” What?
Also, why are two people speaking in the same paragraph? A new speaker indicates a new line with indentation. That happened more than once.
Based on the summary, I really thought I would enjoy this book. The premise is exactly the type of romance that I love. But this just felt like it lacked care and attention to detail. The typos and weird formatting really made it hard to finish this book.
Through the omegaverse storyline, the author hits a number of heartbreaking realities that some of us go through.
It's a great page turner. You are taken through a young woman's trauma while she finds love and a true place in her life.
While she has a lot of struggles, she deals with (physical, mental, and sexual assault), the men also have lasting trauma thru also have been through. While there aren't extreme details, you do understand what I've been like as it plays out through the omegaverse.
What was great in here was the true growth in her character. She had to survive. She might have been getting to the point of giving up. She didn't. She became stronger with each touching word or thought. Someone knew that she could do it and tell her.
Yes, this was a great book about the mafia, and it played out through the omegaverse. That was great. It was also just as great to have a good plot that people can relate to, along with strong characters. (There are plenty of books the characters leave you thinking, "wth were they reallythinking". You know people aren't that stupid) Every person seemed well thought out. From the FMC, 3Alphas she will mate to, the father's for each, not to mention guards and other packs. Oh, and let me tell you, that ending was great. I don't believe many will have seen that coming. Though I did wish for more of what happened next.
I’ve read my fair share of wolf and vampire mafia romances however, this book was significantly different from the others I’ve read. The concept of one omega being mated to multiple alpha’s was initially mind boggling to me but overtime I adjusted. I personally feel that the story line was well thought of and the plot was decent for a YA book. It was not at all difficult for me to connect with the make Alpha characters but in spite of this when it came to spice levels in this book I couldn’t handle it any longer. Based on my own personal preferences the spice scenes were a bit too much and it seemed like the storyline was mainly revolved around them sexually pleasing each other, which was quite a disappointment as I was really invested in the characters and wanted to learn more about them. To add to this I also believe that the characters fell in love with each other too quick for my liking(love between people should have time to manifest itself and you don’t just fall into love with someone without knowing anything about them which I personally felt was unrealistic). Anyhow, despite all of my rambling I would recommend this book to a younger audience I.e teenagers, people whom don’t mind having frequent spicy scenes in their books and those of us looking for a break from epic fantasy series/looking for a quick read.
Wow, this was my first taste of Alexcis’s writing and an omegaverse where they don’t actually shift. I really appreciated the introduction before the book giving some details about how this world works. Check your trigger warnings.
FMC; Kennedy. My heart felt for Kennedy throughout this book. Physically, mentally and emotionally abused, Kennedy has become a shell of what she could be. On a normal day at Uni (yes we’re 23) a new transfer student comes across her scent. I did think Kennedy jumped to trusting them a bit quickly but she does say in their world of alphas and omegas, relationships move pretty fast especially after being bitten by their mates. Kennedy ends up finding her strength and takes her revenge on those who hurt her.
MMCs; I loved the blend of two brothers and then the 3rd male being in a relationship with a brother and all being bestfriends. I found it interesting the dynamic that 3 alphas would share the one omega (again in this world this is common as alphas outnumber omegas). I loved that they worshipped her and she was really the one calling the shots
Storyline; I am a sucker for any female taking revenge on those who wronged her so I loved this. I also liked the twist at the end but it did add an extra layer of sadness to Kennedys story. I hope we get more of their story
Will she ever escape from her father or is he really her father?
Kennedy’s life, if that’s what you want to call it, was hell. Her father, Calvin, constantly beat her for the smallest infraction. She has a broken rib when we first meet her. He is an alpha want-to-be. Her alpha father has plans for her. Kennedy attends university. Her world exists home and uni. She has never been anywhere else. Today is a very bad day; she is late to class, has a panic attack, and meets the best smelling alpha comes to her rescue. She meets Theo. Theo is line to be the Don of the Duran mafia family. Their pack is her scent match. Kennedy’s mind is blown, she’s hoping this interaction doesn’t get back to her father. The beat down would be on then. She will have more than a broken rib. In her next class she meets Theo’s pack mates, Jax and Ledger. Jax and Ledger have a secret. Jax takes liberties with Kennedy and all of a sudden, they are mates. This is a great book. It was fun watching Kennedy come out of shell with both battles flying.

1000% felt like I was reading a wattpad omegaverse. Not a bad thing necessarily since I’m a sucker for a good wattpad story every once in a while it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Kennedy’s life is anything but simple. Add in a few scent matches who are beyond enamored with her what could go wrong?
Her men instantly notice something isn’t quite right at their new school and their omega. It doesn’t deter them though is anything it entices them to break down her walls faster.
Kennedy quickly falls for her scent matches and jumps all in.
Now backed by her pack nothing will stop Kennedy from breaking the chains that held her down for the past years.
While the characters are supposedly in college they act and behave like they’re in high school, main and supporting alike. It was hard for me to picture them being in college.
Kennedy, an Omega carrying the weight of years of abuse that has left her feeling utterly broken, unexpectedly encounters her scent-matched Alphas on what should be a fresh start – her first day back at university.
To say Kennedy's life has been challenging is a gross understatement. She's endured hardships that would crush most, yet amidst the pain, a resilient strength flickers within her.
Her Alphas – Theo, Jax, and Ledger – are immediately captivated by her. From the moment their scents intertwine, they're driven by an intense desire to protect her and help her navigate the long and arduous journey toward healing. They shower her with affection, understanding, and unwavering support, creating a safe space for her to confront her past traumas.
The introduction of a Mafia element into this omegaverse is excellent. It adds a layer of intrigue and danger, providing Kennedy with the kind of fierce protection and unwavering loyalty that a traumatised Omega needs. And the ending? Absolutely heartwarming. It's the kind of sweet, hopeful conclusion that leaves you feeling satisfied and optimistic about Kennedy's future.
This book was my guilty pleasure, emphasis on pleasure. 😏 Reading it felt like I was 15 again, sneaking into the Omegaverse for the first time—wide-eyed and slightly scandalized. 😳 Except this time, there were no shifters—just pure, unfiltered Omegaverse chaos 💥 with a side of mafia drama. 💼🔫
And let me tell you, I ate it up. 🍽️ Every Omegaverse trope? ✅ Ridiculous levels of possessiveness? ✅✅ A mafia twist that made everything somehow even more dramatic? Oh, you know it. It was like someone took a spicy fanfic, 🌶️ cranked up the tension, and threw in a designer suit 👔 and a gun.
If you love Omegaverse but think, "You know what this needs? More mobsters," then Knot So Broken is your next obsession. 😈 Just be prepared for some serious secondhand blushing 😳🔥and a desperate need for a cold drink. 🥤
Kennedy’s life has been miserable, ever since she turned 16 and emerged as an omega her life hasn’t been worth living. Her father has made it known just how worthless he thinks she is and treats her as such. All Kennedy has ever dreamed off is meeting her pack. Her alphas that would come along and treat her and love her the way she is meant to be. She did not expect to meet her scent match in home room, she didn’t expect to leave the first day of school with three alphas trailing after her. Kennedy never thought she would experience this happiness, but she has come to know the darkness that is always around the corner.
Loved this book. I really love an omega versus. Kennedy isn’t your typically omega, once she found her alphas and they give her the confidence she has always been lacking, a real badass emerges from her. It’s a great read.
I enjoyed the overall story, but man, does this need some heavy editing. There's missing words, duplicate words, wrong versions of words being used, and weird sentence structures. Even with all that, I still rate the book a 3. There is some repetitiveness to it, and towards the end, I felt myself being ready for the book to end, but overall, I enjoyed the story. It's an interesting take on an alpha/omega book. I don't have too much experience with this genre so I'm unsure if them not actually being shifters is a common thing, but this is the first time I've seen something like this where they had all the wolf-like traits, but none of the actual turning into a wolf part. I would pretty much say that this is middle ground between everyday human characters and shifter characters. Overall, it's an interesting read
Arc received free from author. All opinions are my own
I loved this book. The journey Kennedy goes on throughout the book and watching her piece herself together and find strength is beautiful. The support she gets from Theo, Ledger, and Jax is amazing and I love how they support her without being overbearing. They don’t shelter her but give her the means to find her own strength and power. The only reason I’m docking a star is I wish we had more time with the pack after the climax, I wanted more time with them after her father and others were dealt with.
Fave quote: “That’s just the thing, Kennedy. I want to be right here, picking up your pieces. You will be the most beautiful puzzle I’ll ever put back together.” - Jax
I want to start off by saying thank you to Alexcis Morris for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I do wish we had more time with the pack at the end and got a little more look into their lives after all the chaos. But all in all I really did love this book and absolutely recommend it! Please check for trigger warnings before you dive in though! 💕
4.5 ⭐️I absolutely loved this book, the Alphas 🥵and I’m always pulled in when I see mafia.
What Kennedy went through with her father was so emotional but the love Jax, Theo and Ledger has for her was beautiful. Touch her and die love.
I loved how the boys took Kennedy shopping something that was so new to her to pick out her own things. This should have been second nature for kennedy but she was a prisoner held by her father and was given no luxuries.
This book has 🖤 love 🖤 Mafia 🖤 Abused FMC 🖤 Found Family 🖤 Alpha/Omega 🖤 MMFM 🖤 Fated mates 🖤 Touch her and die 🖤 Kidnapping
I enjoyed the story, I was drawn in from the beginning. Definitely worth reading. Thank you for another great book.
Do you like reading Omegaverse and fated mates? And do you also love mafia romance? Then this is definitely for you! You'll get POVs from all three alphas and their Omega. Kennedy is an Omega who has been abused all her life and sees no way out—until her knights appear. Ledger, Jax, and Theo are powerful alphas in the Duran Mafia, and they all fall head over heels for Kennedy. Expect MMFM and all the steamy moments that come with it 💦🍆🔥. Phew! Kennedy is definitely blessed. Their journey is filled with ups and downs as they build their pack, but there’s a guaranteed HEA.
I’ve been reading Omegaverse books for awhile and I absolutely love them. This is Alexcis Morris’s first OV book and I really hope she writes more. I absolutely loved it.
Kennedy is an Omega who’s been through so much abuse from her father who’s so selfish and only cares about himself. Definitely father of the year (NOT). She meets her scent match Alpha’s Theo, Ledger and Jax at school. They are new to the school. I absolutely love her Alpha’s. Right away they are so protective of Kennedy and only care about her happiness. Despite going through so much Trauma Kennedy is still so amazing and tries to find good in everything. There is definitely lots of twist and turns in this book. Definitely check for triggers. This book was amazing!!

I could not put this book down. Fair warning you will need a box of tissues handy. Especially at the end I had happy tears streaming down my face blurring the pages. This is my first book by Alexcis and what a wonderful book it is to read. Please check TW before reading. This book is very well written and I totally loved every character. Especially when the evil ones got what they deserved. LoL.This story will grab ahold of you Heart 💜 you will have sad and happy tears throughout this story. So buckle up buttercup and strap in for a rollercoaster journey of Kennedy's life and her swoonworthy mate's.
This has so much promise, but holy guacamole, who edited this? Who formatted it? Line breaks in the middle of a sentence, two characters speaking in the same paragraph, words that definitely don’t mean what they’re contextually supposed to mean… like it was a mess. I can overlook a fair amount of issues if it’s one or two of each kind, but this was just littered with very basic issues that even alpha and beta readers could have caught and the author could have fixed. I hope she takes the time to go back and fixes them so people can enjoy the story she wrote instead of being yanked out of it so frequently trying to decipher what is happening.
Honestly, I should of dnf'd I found myself skim reading a lot of the last half of this book. I kept waiting for something to happen, but it just didn't. There was "action" but not a lot, and the characters were so juvinal. They were supposed to be 23 and in college, but they seemed like high schoolers. There is so much inner dialogue it just dragged on and on. The beginning was good and had so much promise, but it definitely just felt like it was a whole lot of nothing.
I've always loved the omegaverse world, and absolutely Alexcis has nailed it. The alphas, oh the alphas. And the fact it was mafia 😍 I loved every minute of this book. And I'm so glad I got to read Kennedy's story. Gut wrenching and so raw, so many emotions. The instant obsession was to die for. I'm so glad she found her people. The ending i was not expecting, but it fit so perfectly into the story.
