Untying the Knot

Erik and Allie's chemistry just keeps getting better!

If you have been married for a significant length of time you know that sometimes bedroom activities can fall by the wayside. It is never intentional, nor is it planned, but sometimes life doesn't stop and something has to give.

Black and Quinn change that entire thought process with their Untying the Knot Series. Putting in that effort with your partner is priority number one and this couple has already laid the groundwork.

One simple finger (hehe) opens up a new kink for our couple and as they explore what it means to be filled situations arise that must be handled.

With those things comes some of the naughtiest and most fulfilling bedroom moments I have read about in quite some time. If you feel safe and taken care of, the rest will come.

The Journey Continues

Allie and Erik continue to explore the lifestyle. She has lunch with her closest friend and makes a purchase that she knows her husband will love. He makes a purchase, too, which he shares the same night hers is delivered.

In the previous book, I was wondering if the couple would look into finding more about their interests from a live source. This book had them researching that and I’m looking forward to their continuing journey with the SAFE part of the principles of B.D.S.M. being explored.

Filled: One Married Couple's BDSM Journey is book four in the Untying the Knot series, and continues Allie and Erik’s exploration in a way that feels playful, slightly nerve-wracking, and intimately grounding all at once.

This installment leans hard into curiosity, the kind that starts with a conversation, gets nudged along by a well-meaning best friend, and ends with both partners realizing they’re braver than they thought. I really liked that the story doesn’t rush past the nerves. Allie’s hesitation feels real, and Erik’s reaction isn’t about ego or control; it’s about wanting to meet her where she is and make sure she feels safe the entire time.

I really love how normal their communication feels, even when they’re doing things that push their comfort zones. They talk. They joke. They check in. They pause when needed. BDSM is present, yes, but the heart of the story is still about two people choosing trust over embarrassment and curiosity over fear.

I also loved the role friendship plays in this one. Sidney isn’t just comic relief, she represents that outside voice reminding Allie that desire doesn’t disappear just because you’ve been married a long time. It’s refreshing to see female friendship framed as supportive instead of judgmental when it comes to these types of things.

Erik continues to grow into his confidence as a Dom, but what makes it work is that it’s rooted in care, not performance. He listens. He researches. He pays attention to Allie’s reactions instead of just the act itself. Their dynamic feels intentional, not impulsive.

Like the earlier books, Filled isn’t really about the kink; it’s about rediscovering each other after years of routine, stress, and parenthood. It’s about realizing that intimacy can still be fun, awkward, exciting, and deeply connective all at the same time.

This series continues to do a great job showing that long-term love doesn’t have to be stagnant. It can evolve, surprise you, and even make you laugh along the way.

Allie and Erik continue their marital adventure deciding to try “playing ‘round the back door”…

Allie and Erik are the perfect couple—perfect in that they perfectly mirror real-life sexiness in married life. Things don’t always go to plan. There are interruptions. And sometimes even the hottest ideas just don’t work out the way you think they will. But they celebrate the successes and learn from the fails. That’s why with each book in the series I love this couple more.

This series is proof that the exploration doesn’t have to stop when you have kids. So many people lose that part of themselves over time and it doesn’t have to be that way!

I loved this book. I appreciate the fact that the couple feels real. Its so good to read that even though they want things to happen, some things don't always work. Allie and Erik recognize that they are ok and work through it. They can recognize that its ok to be scared or nervous. It is reflective of what a good relationship could and should be. Well done. I loved that the characters are in their 40s and their inner dialogues were so relatable! I actually wish this story could’ve been longer.
