I want to read this book so much!! This is my ultimate favourite series and i can't wait for this one. Keep writing Chanda! It says it will come out in 2013.....but when?
(4th June 2014)
Literally just finished reading this a few minutes ago and all i can say is OMFG! If you've read the first few, you need to get yourself this book pronto because in no way does it disappoint. Chanda Hahn finished off this awesome series with explosive action, kick ass magic, fantstic twists and, of course, the dashes of romance we all secretly love. Some parts of this book were definitely unexpected and i loved it all! I swear i didn't put my kindle down since i started reading this book and i'd happily start all over again.
I'll probably write a full review later but, due to the fact that i just finished the book and am still reeling from its awesomeness, i'm afraid i might give to much away in my excitement. So, for now, trust me, if you're a fan of the previous two, get this now and you won't regret it. Personally, im now torn between the Throne of Glass series and The Iron Butterfly series as to which is my favourite. Hmmmm....

When I finished The Steele Wolf and found out there was going to be another book coming out soon I couldn't contain my excitement. As I didn't have anything to read whilst I was waiting and I enjoyed The Iron Butterfly so much I decided to read Chanda's other series (An Unfortunate Fairy Tail- also AMAZING).
Now i have read The Steele Wolf twice and re-read my favourite parts millions of times (I ended up getting excited all over again xD)and it's still not out :(
I can't wait to find out what adventures Thalia will go through this time and what other powers she will uncover.
However my main excitement is based on what will happen between Thalia, Kael and Joss (I am totally and Whole-heartedly on Team Kael btw).
Chanda said it would come out winter 2013 and it's almost Christams now...
So please hurry Chanda, you're killing me!!!!!

It's official, The Silver Siren is coming out 27th of May!!! I am too excited for words to express, but I can tell you my reaction for when I found out the release date: I literally squeeled and ran around my whole house telling everyone I passed about the fantastic news. Then I sat back down and squeeled some more. After that I realised how long I still had to wait and started groaning. That's my reaction in a nut shell. Can't wait for it to come out!!! *squeels!!*

Ok, I know I read this ages ago (literally like the day it came out) so my review is a little late. But better late then never, right?
This review will probably just be me fangirling just to let you know.
Let me just start of by saying this book is ah-may-zing! (I do know that's spelt wrong by the way!)
I loved reading it and I finished it waaay too quickly.
And, good news: MORE KAEL MOMENTS!! Much, much more! Yeeeeey!!!!
We learn so much in this book, everything is revealed and we finally understand! We get to meet lots of new characters too.
This book was slightly different to the other two (at least in my eyes) but I loved it.
I cant even express my love for this book and it was too good to put into words so I just say go and read it. And love it. Then read it again like I'm about to go and do.
READ IT!!

There's no release date...I'm having an existential crisis waiting for this book.
I'm most likely going to get some major anger directed at me for this but //puts on battle armor// I despised Joss in the second book. I liked him in the first -don't get me wrong- but honestly in the sequel he seemed too pushy and protective as if Thalia couldn't take care of herself. I loved Kael the moment he was introduced in the Septori prison. I feel as though Kael knows and treats Thalia like how she is -a strong girl who doesn't need to be shielded from the world.
I can't wait until The Silver Siren.

“Thalia, I’m not even going to pretend to understand you young ones, because I don’t. But all I have to say is that letting a young man beat you to a pulp is no way to let him know you like him.” - Note, this was after a training session, not actually physical abuse.
“I think you are mistaken.”
Fanny raised one eyebrow. “Am I now? Well I guess you can’t believe the observations of an old woman like me. I mean, it’s not like I was ever a young girl who held the admirations of a few gentlemen either.”
“No, that’s not what I mean,” I tried to apologize.
“Thalia, you have to be careful and pick one. Otherwise you could end up hurting both of them.”

Pretty much sums up how I feel about YA in general. Also, you know you are getting old when you can relate to the adult characters rather than the main characters.

What a fun series! I really enjoyed this last book and how everything came together. Thalia faces a lot of new challenges, but consistently stays true to herself and wanting to do the right thing. She never lets her circumstances turn her into something bad. It's a constant struggle, but she stays strong. We did a lot of traveling in this one, we get to visit a lot of different places and meet a lot of new characters. It was a tad overwhelming, but I liked it. Love triangles always drive me nuts, but I liked how things played out. Well, for the most part I liked Kael a lot in this one, we get a lot more background on him and also get to see a softer side. Which I liked. I was surprised by some things and it kept me on my toes. Which is why I decided to give this one five stars, it was hard to put down and overall just a fun escape. If you enjoy High Fantasy give this series a try!

I'm choosing to think that it just needs a good editor. You know, to help with the pacing, the abrupt changes, the characterisation, the logic, the spelling, the tired fantasy tropes....

This book really bothered me. Thalia started out as a strong and independent woman but now I find her weak and really dumb. The author makes her out to be a very powerful person and yet whenever a dire situation arises she doesn't use any of her given powers. It's like she doesn't have any of them at all and instead makes rookie mistakes. For example, when the Septori attacks their camp along with the Denai she doesn't even think to wake up the camp but tries to handle it on her own. What is wrong with you? Wake the others up and alert them so they can fight back too. Another thing, even though she uses her training from Kael she still doesn't use her powers that could've helped her defeat them. I don't see her developing it and trying to control to use for her self defense. All I hear is that she's getting strong but doesn't actually demonstrate and only does when she's angry. Really? And another thing, the love triangle was not written well. You got Thalia kissing Joss and she says she feels thrilled one minute and a few minutes later she kisses Kael. I'm like what?? Pick one and none of their actions are realistic. It feels force so the Thalia's choice of her life mate is obvious. I also notice that the sword brothers are suppose to be the deadliest most skilled killers in this book and yet any time the Septori attacks Thalia or any of the fellow Denai Kael somehow always seems to be too late. Shouldn't he know already that a certain person or group he he was watching out for is under attack and therefore have killed the Septori and prevented many kidnappings and murders. Details in this book really don't line up.
As I read the second half of the book it got better. Thalia is now trying to save the Sirens and Denai and the only way to do that was to confront from the very thing she tried to run away from. Her hesitation and reaction to being strapped into the iron butterfly again was very realistic and understandable but she faced her fear. The ending was really great although it made me sad that a certain character, won't say who died and one that I've come to love. I really love the epilogue and saw the progress Thalia has made with the new country and I'm happy for everyone's happy endings:) even though this review started out as me hating the book. It was only written as I read the book and what I felt at the time. But I read through it and was very glad because I got to see what happened to all the characters many years later.

“It sounded off pitch and grated on my nerves. “What is that sound?” I asked. Alek covered his mouth with his hand. “Do you see what I mean? He’s humming–my brother is humming.” He tried to hide his smile.
I couldn’t help the surprised look that covered my shocked face. Kael did not have a singer’s voice. The humming was terribly off-key. “That sounds like cat’s howling in pain. It’s disturbing,” I whispered. The noise from inside stopped. “Exactly!” Alek said. “He never hummed before he left.” Kael pushed the white curtain aside and spoke up as he stepped out onto the porch fully dressed, “I do not sound like a cat in pain. Dog, maybe. Cat no.”

It took me almost one month to finish this book, which to me, apparently says a lot since I typically finish books in just one day or less. I'm not really saying this was a terrible read though, but for some reasons, I had a really challenging time getting through with it.

One reason, perhaps, why I had so little motivation in picking this book back up was because I had almost completely lost interest in the series. It's been quite a while since I finished the first two books, and although they were amazing enough for me to give them 4 and 5 stars, the names of most characters and places didn't really ring a bell anymore. Yeah so sadly, I went through this book lost and a bit reluctant to continue.

The writing style started to bother me, as well. Some of the emotions felt forced, and often times I felt it difficult to sympathize with the characters. The main character, Thalia's indecisiveness was also irksome on occasions but thankfully, her sass and humor was never lost.

“You know there is such a thing as a door," I whispered. "You should try it some time.”

“I had accidentally eaten most of my day’s rations out of boredom."

In general, I'm giving The Silver Siren 3 out of 5 stars, since I'm lost somewhere between liking and hating this book. I'm still conflicted about how I feel about it, but overall I'm satisfied with the ending and with this as a series conclusion.

Fantasy isn't my favourite genre but after receiving good reviews from a friend, I decided to try the Iron Butterfly trilogy anyway. I'm glad I did.

Although I felt that the first book started quite slowly with too many unanswered questions from page one, the story quickly picked up pace after that. Overall, it was well paced with action spread throughout the book and successfully intertwined with romance in between.

The plot was imaginative and the characters were quirky with distinct personalities; I never got confused with who was who. I particularly liked Faraway and the Wolf as they provided another dimension for the connection between characters - between humans and animals. Their ending was sad but showed us the power of courage and selflessness:

In my opinion, the romance was both the high and low of the book. Kael and Thalia's romance had a 'slow-burn effect', not a sudden 'love at first sight'. When Thalia met Kael for the first time in book 1, I didn't even expect them to fall in love. Hahn is great at writing about romance so it is gradual but still interesting to read. However, Kael was not Thalia's only lover and Joss, then Fenri in book 2, become contenders too 🤦. I don't think this added much to the book but instead took its uniqueness away.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for 12-15 year olds. The ending was bittersweet but left me satisfied.

miss hahn realizing that poorly written banter and a bad love triangle doesn’t count as a story,, also girl how do you introduce like 75 percent of the plot within this book in order to explain all of the throwaway clues and plot holes in the other books and then just create more plot holes for yourself??? and how are you so unoriginal that you name the almost extinct magical species your main protagonist is secretly part of the same exact thing in two entirely different series????? did nobody proof read this?????? points for faraway’s ending tho loved him

Maybe it was all a bit too much, but I enjoyed it a lot!
I wanted more wolf and the archangel thing was really too much, and also the sirens, but I enjoyed the reading and I loved them all. I am really happy to have known them and to have read this story.

Great way to wrap up the story. I felt the epilogue was a little hurried though and told as an afterthought, not given the weight and gravity of the rest of the book. Overall though, fantastic!

This book was epic. Chanda did an amazing job ending this series. She answered so many questions that lingered with the last two books. Thalia is a fierce! Kael what can I say, he is the perfect match for her. I loved watching their relationship grow throughout the stories. I really enjoyed this series and would love to see Chanda do a spin-off.

Just finished rereading this book after several years, and goodness gracious, I will never get over how much I love this series. This book is such a fantastic way to end the trilogy. We get to see a satisfying resolution for all the character, and the love between Thalia Kael is so raw and real in this book. He had me blushing like a little girl with the way he was talking to her.

Kael is one of my favorite romantic interests ever. I think it's partially because I had such a crush on him when I first read this series around 2014, but he's just so mysterious! And watching him go from the hard I-don't-need-anyone to admitting that he needs Thalia in his life is just beautiful. He's so mysterious at first, but it makes learning more about him all the more enticing.

The way you can physically and metaphorically see Thalia develop into a woman is beautiful, especially since in the first book, we see her talk about how she doesn't want to be seen as a child and that she wants to grow stronger. And she does!

And poor Joss! He really went through it in this book. I'm glad that he was still coping with what happened and that he didn't just get over it as time went on. Loss is not something to take lightly.

Rereading these books after years now that I'm an adult, I will say I had some issues as the series went along. Some of the writing took me out of the world, and there were some typos, which were hard to ignore. I also noticed a little inconsistency (?) as I kept reading. Like, things would get mentioned but then wouldn't be resolved until we offhandedly heard about it in another book. But there was nothing that made me want to put the book away. I'm sure it's because I grew up with these books, but they really hold up, even ten years later.

Chanda Hahn is such an amazing, talented author when it comes to characters, world-building, and romance. I remember also loving UnEnchanted as a kid, so that's next on my list.

I was pretty disappointed with this book (the last in a trilogy). The first book (Iron Butterfly) was really good. The second was okay, but this one just didn't measure up. Grammatical errors were everywhere and the tense was constantly changing which made it hard to follow sometimes. The main character, Thalia, was a lot more childish and wishy-washy. She wasn't the same heroine that was in the first book. The love triangle was a bit elementary and one of the characters, Joss, seemed to have been forced by the author to act a certain way in order to force Thalia's decision. I still love Kael's character, but he disappears about halfway through the book and even though he comes back at the end, you never really find out what all happened to him. The story seemed to flow fine at first, but then it just starts going all over the place and it seems like your reading a completely different book. That being said, I was satisfied with the ending and felt as though most of the questions were answered even if it was in a convoluted way. My one big question that never really got answered is: Was this supposed to be a futuristic America/Earth or was it fictional land? Some cataclysmic event had happened, but you never really find out what it was exactly.

This story was amazing! It took a little while to get into the rhythm of the book and to get over the numerous spelling/editing mistakes, but once I got into it, I couldn't let it go. This book because a drug to me, I had to know what happened next. I abandoned all my social obligations just to I could finish this series. Yes, I finished the series (3 books) in two days. (This is a new record for me!)

If you like Chanda Hahn's other series: An UnEnchanted Fairy Tale Series, you'll love this series as well. If you like Hollowland by Amanda Hocking, you'll more than likely enjoy this book. Thalia is a headstrong, "I'm going to do this for myself" kind of girl that forges her own path through life in an attempt to find out what has happened to her.

This series will keep you guessing, shock you and delight you many, many times as you read it. I gave it 5 stars because the story is amazing, I found it so relatable and I will most definitely read this book again and again and again. However, it does have numerous mistakes throughout all three books, I was a little disappointed in that, but couldn't bring myself to knock it down a star because I felt the story was so amazing.

AMAZING!!!
I cannot even express how much I freaking loved this book! I first stumbled upon The Iron Butterfly about a year ago and was immediately enthralled by the story. I then had to wait- very impatiently- for Steele Wolf to come out..... and then AGAIN for Silver Siren..... And as Thalia so aptly put it: "One of the hardest lessons I never learned was patience." lol ;-) I am just so pleased with the finale of this awesome series. It was more than I hoped it would be and I am so glad I invested my time and sanity into Chanda's story. It was definitely worth the wait.♡

Amazing. SPOILER ALERT

I absolutely loved this. I will admit I cried when I finished this book, only because I was sad that such a good series was over. The one think that made me burst into tears and blubber like an idiot was Faraway's death. I've been a Kael fan from the beginning, so I was happy when he and Thalia ended up together. Chanda Hahn never disappoints me. I hope she keeps writing wonderful books like this one, and I can't wait for the fourth book in the Unfortunate Fairy Tale series to come out!

Oh my word!!! I loved this series so so much! It was very interesting and good.
*spoiler*
I knew after the whole trip to the sword brothers home that she would choose Kael. Kael was the real deal. He was truly her soul mate and knew that before they were bonded. :)
I loved the way that it ended. Normally I don't like it when a great and main character dies in a book (cough cough ALLEGIANT cough cough) but it was a good trade. It was nice to have he hero saved and her loved one to be with her.
It was a very great series! Loved the writing and the story.
