I really enjoyed this! I still love Mazzy and Beck together, their chemistry is just so good. Beck’s mouth had me swooning; some of the things he says to Mazzy are everything. And that car scene? My god, I loved it. After that ending, I’m dying for the next book to see how Mazzy deals with her parents.

This book is a wild ride from start to finish! Mazzy’s world is turned upside down as shocking truths come to light, and Beck will stop at nothing to protect her. The action is nonstop, the twists are jaw-dropping, and the chemistry is off the charts. If you love fast-paced mafia romance with high stakes and sizzling tension, this one’s a must-read! Just know this is book TWO of the series so be sure to kick it off with book one, Collateral Affliction!

Phenomenal
Sometimes the middle book in a trilogy is a bit laggy, but needed to move the storyline to where it has to go. NOT this one! This one is action packed, full of heat and will keep you on the edge of your seat! Loving this trilogy sooo much, to the point I had to message the author poking her to get the next book released ASAP! It’s a good thing she planned this trilogy out to be quick releases. Loving these books soooo much!

This is a great second book in the series. There is some semi boring stuff for a bit but its needed to really bring the book together. There's tons of great steamy scenes. I'll never look at a spatula the same again. Watching Beck and Mazzy grow together has been great.
Again Christina had me trying to turn to the next page only to find out it's the end! Whhyyy! Next book please 😂

And she knows that considering who she is and who her family is, having her own voice that is actually heard, will help her in the days ahead, she just has to learn how to use it and when to use it.

I love Christina B. Rose and the tropes that she uses: Forced Proximity, Dark Romance, Mafia Romance, Anal Play, Choking, BDSM, Graphic Violence, Gun Violence, Torture, Drug Use, Mentions of Sexual Trafficking, Psychological Manipulation.
I loved Christina B. Rose, yes she writes some dark romance in the mafia romance genre but I love it.
I adore Mazzy, she is smart, sassy, and ever so fierce. And even though she is a bit more drawn back in this book and does have her moments she she is afraid and crying, I like this because it shows such growth and development for Mazzy's character. It's her opening herself up to Beck and showing him how vulnerable she really can be.
I loved how Beck grew in this book as well and we got to see his more freaky side. I loved that we got to see some very interesting kinks, and moments of dominance that were very interesting and enlightening and this helped to give his character more depth and made him all that much more alluring and so much more interesting. And it gave him a level of total honesty and allowed Christina to build up his character. I liked that he was a bit unhinged at times but still tried to keep it all reined in and reasonable. His slips though, those slips are so epic and amazing.
And the way that Beck handles Mazzy when she is throwing one of her tantrums when she starts to yell and scream at him or she locks herself in a bathroom crying, he never walks away and he never just lets her get away with her crap. He forces her to talk it all out, no matter how uncomfortable that might make her feel. That shows both of their growth at the same time.
I loved how we were also introduced to the Capos in PA and I loved reading about that, in some ways they were all so similar but at the same way they were all different and I loved that it was all so much fun and I loved all the interactions that they got to have with Beck and Mazzy.
That ending, I didn't really see that coming and I can't wait to read the last book in this trilogy. I really want to read how everything works out and what happens to Beck and Mazzy in the end.
And as for Adara, I don't like her personally, I hope she gets what she has coming to her and she gets knocked down for all the crap she's pulled.

I am so glad I stumbled across Christina Rose and became a member of her ARC readers! I love a dark romance and the very popular Mafia theme.
I rated the first book in this trilogy as 5/5, whereas this one is only a 4/5. The reason, I simply liked Mazzy's character more in the first installment. She was sassy and fierce in "Collateral Affliction." In this book, she has moments where she is fierce and sassy again, but many more moments where she is afraid and crying. While I understand that's just her character opening up and showing her true self to Beck, I prefer the Mazzy in book one.
Now, all the things I loved about this book. I think my favourite thing was actually seeing Beck's freaky side come out to play. The man has some interesting kinks and moments of dominance that were interesting and honestly, just helped to build his character for me. It's like he is slightly unhinged but trying to keep it reined in. When he slips it's pretty epic though.
I also like how well Beck handles Mazzy during her tantrums where she starts yelling at him or locks herself in the bathroom to cry. He didn't just walk away, he also didn't just let her get away with it. He made her talk it out no matter how uncomfortable she felt doing so. That helped her to grow some as well.
Being introduced to all the Capos in PA was interesting to read about as well, they were similar in some ways but also all so very different and it was fun to read about them and the interactions they had with Beck and Mazzy.
I did kind of see the end coming, to an extent, and I cannot wait to read the final installment of this trilogy to see how it all plays out.
Also, Adara can go fuck herself. I hope she gets knocked down a couple dozen pegs in the next book.

I loved this book way more than I thought I could!!
Mazzy & Beck’s story continues, & this book really picks up the speed!
Book 1 was a little slower paced I’d say, but this one just completely TOOK OFF.
There’s a lot more mafia business going on in this one, Beck finds himself in the middle of some serious negotiating with the well respected elder mafia members, & Mazzy has to go through it all with him because he will not let her out of his sight. He wants to keep her safe at all costs.
I really enjoyed how Mazzy found out more about the life her parents live, and how they’ve hidden it from her for her whole life. How her family is also very much in the mafia scene too, & she never knew it.
This book definitely went way more in depth with both of their families & there were so many twists!!
So many moments where my mouth was hanging open.
Mazzy literally went from living a boring introverted life, to being kidnapped, to falling in love with a mafia underboss, to finding out she was born into a mafia family all along. Like, hello, full circle moment?!
By chapter 27, I was screaming at Mazzy!! I don’t want to give spoilers, so I won’t say why. Just know that you’re in for some crazy twists & turns!!
Also, this spice level most definitely elevated in this book! Lots more than book one! 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Here we go again... more plots twists and turns at every corner. We also finally learn more about Beck and his family as well as a huge reveal that is so important to the story, that you definitely will want Book 3 asap.
Mazzey continues to give us whiplash with her emotions, and at times her annoying bratty behaviour. For someone who is supposedly a mature adult, she sure does have a lot of growing up to do.
Beck is steady, smart and has excellent communication skills. Mazzey can learn a lot from him.
Their chemistry continues to burn hot, and with Beck's help, Mazey learns more about herself, her desires, and her needs than she ever thought she could (or would!). She also comes out of her shell some more and proves to be a lot braver and strong in her boundaries than she believed about herself.
The story might feel like it drags a bit, but all those details are so essential to the story and what i suspect will be an explosive book 3, so be patient and power through!

The thing I like the most about this book is that Beck and Mazzy get to spend some time just being with each other. They get to learn each other's quirks and habits. Beck realizes he has to kind of help Mazzy quit being so stubborn and learn her worth since she's been told countless times how useless she is. They both gain some confidence in themselves. Mazzy is physically and mentally healing while discovering this different world she's been sheltered from her whole life. This is their calm before the storm, which they know is coming after Mazzy was attacked in the previous book.
This story is very sex-heavy in the first half, which makes sense since they're at the safe house and are pretty much alone most of the time. There is not a lot of progress with the Mafia plot until they start their meetings, but it is ongoing. The overall story still flows well, and we learn Beck is a total Dom (I'm not surprised). There are a lot of similarities between this book and the other 2 series. They are all in the same universe, so some behaviors and points are the same throughout.

This is book two of a trilogy. Within this series, there is more of a focus on the emotional intelligence of the couple and less on the scenery and combat around them. Mazzy has that independence streak, that many people deal with, and she struggles with depending on Beck while she recovers. Her mood fluctuations and processing of the changes in her life are 100 percent understandable. When she and Beck have arguments during this time, I appreciate that they don't last super long and get resolved quickly. This may be due to their need to have frequent s*x though 😅.
Both Beck and Mazzy are intelligent, but can have issues communicating precisely what they are feeling. I wouldn't necessarily call it miscommunication, but more so missed opportunity for expression. Beck is a no BS kind of guy and straight to the point. He keeps her protection as his number one priority, and is learning how to communicate in a more sensitive way.
It does take a bit to get hooked into this book compared to the first, but I know with the action picking up in the second half, that book three will have a lot more going on.

Both Beck and Mazzy are intelligent, but can have issues communicating precisely what they are feeling. I wouldn't necessarily call it miscommunication, but more so missed opportunity for expression. Beck is a no BS kind of guy and straight to the point. He keeps her protection as his number one priority, and is learning how to communicate in a more sensitive way.
It does take a bit to get hooked into this book compared to the first, but I know with the action picking up in the second half, that book three will have a lot more going on.

I really enjoyed continuing Mazzy and Beck's story! There's so much that happened in this one to further the plot and I love that.
Mazzy had a wonderful amount of growth for me, she definitely came out of that sheltered shell of hers! She's finding her own way to trust in Beck and herself and the situation they find themselves in with both of their families. The way she handles herself in most of these meetings with the Italian capos is impeccable for the lack of violence she grew up around!
And Beck, this MANNNNN. The slow burn tension EXPLODED in this one, I loved getting to see more of his kinks and how his and Mazzy's chemistry meshed. I mean the mouth on this man had me like 🥵🫠😮💨. Also, it's great that he's really trying to step into the Don role and take control from Tony. I mean, Beck warned him what would happen if he messed with Mazzy. 🤷🏻♀️
And that ending, good lord, here I am, dangling off another cliff! I can't wait to see what Mazzy will do and how the plot just continues to thicken!

We are back with book 2 in the trilogy, continuing where book 1 left us. And what a ride it was. Christina has gone and done it again and brought us another epic story, shes left me with my jaw on the ground so many times throughout this book.
The car scene, and the spatula!! IYKYK! but I will think of this book every time I look at one.
It's such a emotional rollercoaster ride that has twists and turns you don't see coming at all. I could not put it down once I started it, I was captivated from start to finish. It had me on the edge of my seat , heart racing more than I can count.
Mazzy and beck are so made for each other , their chemistry is hot and undeniable. They go through a lot as more things are uncovered and mazzy finds things out. It's filled with spice, drama, action, secrets exposed, suspense, lies, betrayal, survival and so much more. The characters are awesome, the storyline is wonderful and the plot is plotting.
I can't wait to see what happens in the last book in this trilogy. Highly recommend!!!

The twists and turns and deception in this book, not just from the famiglia but from Mazzy's family will keep you on your toes whilst your heart breaks for the choices that have to be made and the revelations that come to light.
The spice 🌶 is all that more hotter in the second book as Mazzy broadens her experience and delves head first into self-acceptance.
I am seriously looking forward to the third book that's due out in May!

Omg, the twists just keep coming!! Book 2 just keeps you on the edge with a massive cliffhanger again!!
Ahh, this author is such a cliffhanger queen at this point. She definitely knows how to slowly edge you with her books and this one is no different.
Be ready for more emotional growth for both Mazzy & Beck. I mean she brought so much more character development for these two as they have to navigate some real feelings and problems their relationship faces.
Now let me just say Beck is even more demanding and dominant with Mazzy and omg the spice is HAWT!! I mean melt your Kindle and panties in this one!! I think Beck is absolutely my favorite character she has written thus far with his playful playboy side dimples and in all, his flip the switch to no remorse mafia Don, and his needs to be dominant and Mazzy his little submissive doll. The spice is heavy in book two and I'm so here for it but it also brings a lot of twists once again and poor Beck & Mazzy will be faced with who to trust and what will the future bring now as both fight for a new future.
Highly recommend this series because it's a different take from the first book for a mafia book but it slowly morphs into that action packed mafia world you know and love. This one just gives you more character development and world building that keeps you hooked till that cliffhanger ending. Definitely grab this book and be ready for high spice and twists!!

I'm still in a daze... knocked over by a powerful plot twist.
This book was compelling enough to evoke strong emotions from me, especially toward the end.
Although it felt like there was nothing really major going on at the start of the book, maybe that was preparing us for an unexpected turn of events.
Lord knows I dislike Tony, but I feel there's something more about him we don't know yet.
The writing was spectacular especially towards the end. Mazzy's reactions were spot on, I like her personal growth. And Beck, I loved that he didn't run away from the new feelings he was experiencing.
The sex was very BDSM-y , if you're into that you'll like it.
She passing out after they fucked almost every time was real, sometimes it does knock you out for a while lol.

Another great book written in the series! Mazzy and Beck are hiding out after Tony tried to kill Mazzy. Beck is being the over protective underboss. He is trying to align all the Capo’s to support him to take over the organization and take out Tony.
The passion between Beck and Mazzy heats up in this book and is undeniable. They are each trying to understand their own feelings of “love” for one another as that is a new concept to each of them.
Twists and turns were unveiled along the journey. Truths and lies and revealed along the way as well. The last chapter I kept trying to turn the pages for more but was left going not again…. have to wait for the next book. UGH. Why do you do this to us?? LOL

I had the honour of reading this book as an arc read, and loved it.
This is book 2 in the series, and continues to follow Beck and Mazzy
Having survived her recent attack, Beck is determined to keep Mazzy safe, by taking her to one of his safe houses and not letting her out of his sight. He doesn’t know who he can trust anymore, but reaches out to Vito, his right hand man. He finds out some concerning information and decides that he needs to drum up the support of the Capos and take back control of their mafia organisation. He also finds out some information that changes a lot, and answers a lot of questions.
Unfortunately Mazzy also has to make some very difficult decisions in order to keep Beck safe. Will it all work out in the end?

Oh Mazzy. Girl. You sometimes make it really fucking hard to love and root for you. I know almost every bit of your inability to process emotions in a healthy way was due to the militant household that you come from but holy fuck. I still love Beck. He is literally one of my favorite MMCs ever. He did not deserve the shit storm that was brought his way by sleazy capos and spoiled little rich kids. Also his entire distain from the characters from Great Expectations? Adorable. Overall, this mafia story was complex and so many characters came out to play, and I absolutely wish Beck had listened to Mazzy about her feelings during the capo meetings. But that fucking family plot twist at the end? My jaw hit the floor. I can't wait to see how this story ends!

Beck & mazzy... damn this one is a hard one for me. If you read book 1, you kinda know what answers are needed, but I just feel jumping in blind is best.
I felt like a whirlwind. Their passion has increased, well more to the point that there is no denial. Beck is protective AF, literally touches her and dies vibes, His little freak out after he said someone touched what was mine🤣.
Now, mazzy, she was incredible. She stood up and fights, and she really grew strong in this book, I love how her and Beck feed off each other's strengths.
I, however, never saw that last chapter coming and was scrolling to the next page and wanted to scream @christinabrose0821. Why did you do this to me again🤣🤣

We're back with Beck and Mazzy in book 2 of The Collateral Affliction trilogy, Beyond Redemption and things are ramping up in this one. Mazzy is coming into her own and gaining strength page by page and Beck is even more possessive and protective than ever. They have a lot to contend with in this one now that secrets have been exposed and more lies and betrayals come to light. Beyond Redemption is intense, gritty, dramatic and 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 as these characters navigate not only their personal lives but getting everything back that's thrown their way. One more book and everything will be out in the open and I can't wait!

This is the second book in the Collateral Destruction trilogy. I have been waiting for this book to be released, ever since I read the first book “Collateral Affliction.”
I really enjoyed how the relationship between mazzy and Beck has progressed. While Beck has become a tad bit softer he is still the alphahole that we all know and love. We also witness Mazzy blossoming during her time with Beck.This book is taking them deeper into Mafia politics. They need to determine who are their allies and who are their enemies.

Great book. Mazzy was at Becks house waiting for him when someone knocked on the door and tried to hurt her. Luckily Beck figured out something wasn’t right. He got there in the nick of time. They went to a safe house and stayed there until they came up with a plan. Mazzy and Beck were trying to make moves to take Tony down. He had to convince a bunch of the other capos to back him. All of them but one did. The one that didn’t back stabbed him with Tony. Tony ended up hurting Beck and Mazzy had to do something she didn’t want to do. She learned something that shocked her. This ended on a cliff hanger.

This was truly incredible! The connection between Mazzy and Beck was palpable and authentic. With Beck's support, Mazzy gradually regains her confidence and strength, leading them to discover their love for each other. However, Beck's overprotectiveness of Mazzy adds complexity to their relationship. Throughout their journey, unexpected twists unfold, revealing both truths and lies. I found myself craving more, only to realize I had finished the book! Ugh, now I have to wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this read! Be sure to check the trigger warnings beforehand.

I really enjoyed this second book of the Mazzy and Beck story. Both characters continue to grow, and the heat between them continues to sizzle. I feel like Mazzy continues to be a little extreme and sometimes childlike in her emotions and behaviors still, but she is still a lovable character. The plot is suspenseful and, like the first book, takes you on a roller coaster of emotions. The intimate scenes are very HOT. This book does end on a cliffhanger that left me wanting to throw my Kindle. Not really throw it, but I am sure you get the picture. I definitely can't wait for the next book.

This book really tugged at my heartstrings while delivering the usual dose of drama and action, and I couldn't get enough of it! I totally loved every moment and read it in one go. Mazzy is gradually discovering her inner strength and evolving into the woman she’s always aspired to be, with Beck by her side supporting her. They encounter a whirlwind of new emotions and challenges, making their journey to love quite the adventure. The ending is a total cliffhanger, leaving me craving the next installment already!
