Never Run From An Immortal

Rate this book
Rae Farren has always had a taste for blood. The blood of her enemies, if she’s being specific, but Demesia has been crawling with degenerates for so long the line between friend and foe no longer exists.

War is on the horizon; the fragile existence between humans and the preternatural creatures they share their home with almost at breaking point. With neither time nor luck on her side, Rae jumps at an opportunity to strike a deal with the enemy, even though nothing good can come of their alliance.

Born a bastard Vampire, Aidan Vale has ruthlessly fought his way into his seat of power, but power always comes with a price. He’s sampled most of what Demesia has to offer, but every drop has been like ash on his tongue since his magic was stolen from him, a secret that’s becoming more and more difficult to hide from those who would try to rob him of his throne.

When a foul-mouthed thief offers a bargain with him, Aidan has nothing to lose by accepting. Rae could either be his redemption or his damnation, but refusing her might just be too great a risk.

As sparks fly and tempers flare, one thought alone drives him to see their deal through: know thy enemy.

Set in a corrupt world of magic, technology, and deceit, Never Run From An Immortal is a dual POV, enemies to lovers, urban romantasy between a foul-mouthed Witch and a Vampire Lord. Perfect for fans of a marriage of convenience, forced proximity and morally grey main characters.

My first arc, my new obsession, my new personality, my new pronouns, call me by this name from now on, do whatever you wanna do with this information, just leave me alone but after reading this review !!

Tropes :

⤷ Enemies to Lovers
⤷ Urban Romantasy
⤷ Vampire x Witch
⤷ Corrupt World Of Magic, Technology and Deceit
⤷ Plot twists
⤷ Conspiracies
⤷ Dual pov in third person

⤷ Perfect for fans of marriage of convenience, forced proximity and morally grey main characters.

And this is how these tropes slapped ⤵

Me describing this book :

Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, shit on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it.

⌞ Characters ⌝

"For anyone who had to be their own light in the dark."

Their back stories tore me apart !!

⌞ Aidan Vale ⌝
⤿ 200 y/o Vampire Lord

Grumpy - Broody - Possessive - Domineering

The chokehold this gentleman had on me oh my stars *fans myself* the only way I'll be cured is when he takes me to his bed and suck my blood tells me bed time stories.

⌞ Rae Farren ⌝
⤿ 28 y/o Foul-mouthed Witch

Tough - Badass - Stubborn - Cheeky

Def goes to the list of my favorite fmcs. Whenever she was rude to him or flirted with him, my testicles exploded (I'm a girl).

"What are you?"
"The biggest fucking headache you've ever had the pleasure of experiencing."

"Eyes on me, Vampire,"

"Bite me, and I'll gut you."

"I'm his wife, asshole."

⌞ World building ⌝

It was explained in the very start of the book, you're gonna be dumped straight into the world full of Vampires, Faes, Witches and humans fighting for their hold.

⌞ Plot ⌝

10/10, it was "Trust the process" and "Let the author cook" kinda situation and i didn't expect that magic plot twist (plus all the princess situation), one of my billion favorite scenes in this book.

Just know there's gonna be full-on mayhem and chaos, but in a good way and you're in for a ride and a lot of action too. It was addicting as fuckkk, like i literally couldn't put it down for a sec !!

Sidenote: you're gonna get ahold of the names of the king, queen, prince and princess of witches, fae and leaders of the factions gradually. (esp after that magic plot twist, all is gonna make sense)

⌞ Sexual tension ⌝

🧯🧯🧯🧯🧯🧯

Me the whole time

Kiss and fcking reproduce you mfs

⌞ Side Characters ⌝

Baelin and Reed made their way in my heart-eu, i loved Baelin and Rae's convo and how they made Aidan jealous heheheh, heart broken for Reed tho.

Also how can i forget
Quinn - daemon dog of Baelin
Ru - a little fluff ball

⌞ Quotes ⌝

I literally highlighted full full paragraphs but I've to hold myself here unfortunately

¡¡ Proceed on your own risk, may lead to excessive blushing, combustion, spontaneous happy dance, sleep derivation and a little sadness !!

#

He trailed his knuckles from her jaw down her throat, his hand resting over her heart. "I should have known you were a fucking queen the moment I met you."

Wow. This book was utter perfection.

Where do I even begin? If House of Earth and Blood and A Court of Mist and Fury had a love child, this book would be the golden child. The one they slap a “Proud Parent of an Exceptional Book” bumper sticker on while gushing to anyone within earshot, whether they asked or not. It absolutely nails all the best fantasy romance tropes while dodging the worst offenders. I’m looking at you unnecessary communication and dumb misunderstandings.

From page one I was hooked. I love a well written dual POV, and this book delivers. It drops you right into the action. No exposition dumps, no labyrinthine world building to wade through. Just pure immediate chaos, exactly how I like it. We follow Rae and Aiden in a world on the brink of war. Teeming with fae, humans, vampires, and witches. It’s dark, intense, and brimming with power struggles, shifting alliances, and the ever present fight for survival.

Rae? A complete badass. Snarky, confident, and more than capable of holding her own. She is not here to play damsel in distress. Aiden? Broody, possessive, and powerful-check, check, check. He has all the best qualities of a morally gray love interest without any of the aggravating ones that make you consider throwing the book across the room. I absolutely love their dynamic. Their banter is sharp, the tension is delicious, and the slow burn is well done. I love a well written forced proximity.

The world building is immersive and the pacing addictive without a doubt. The character development was well done too. If I have one complaint, it’s that I need more of the side characters. Rae and Bae deserved more moments, and don’t get me started on my favorite animal companions. Rue and Quinn.

I devoured every page and will now be not so patiently waiting for book two. I’ve already started pushing this book anyone who stands still long enough to listen. Friends, family, coworkers, whoever is stuck with me in conversation. I’m not stopping anytime soon.

Big thanks to NetGalley, Victory Publishing, and Victoria J. Price for a free copy of "Never Run From An Immortal" in exchange for an honest review.

I struggled with the first 40% of this; it was very confusing for me with the different types of vampires, fae, and humans. There were just a lot of different people and names as well. I had a hard time keeping up with them all. (There is a glossary of terms at the beginning.) It still took a while to get everything situated in my mind.
After I got more comfortable with this world, I really enjoyed these characters. Rea was independent and badass. She stood on her own two feet throughout everything; considering her past, that is a feat in itself. She's a savior to everyone but herself. 🥺
Adian and she had a lot in common! Shared trauma, similar upbringing, a darker sense of humor, and bantering. He is so misunderstood. They had an undeniable connection. The ending, y'all!? 🤯 I'll be waiting to see where the rest of this story leads.

This book completely surprised me, leaving me breathless. First of all, I want to compliment the author on her writing style: descriptive without ever being long-winded, engaging, there are no scenes written too hastily or scenes that are too slow. This allowed the book to have a good reading rhythm without ever tiring the reader. The story, set in a well-developed urban fantasy world, follows Aidan, a vampire who has lost his powers, and Rae, a witch. I was immediately fascinated by the worldbuilding and the order of creatures created by the author: indeed, there are several orders of vampires in this world, each with its own characteristics and gifts.
However, the part of the book that most engaged me was the relationship between Rae and Aidan. The slow burn was definitely the thing I appreciated most, beautifully done and developed just as well. The tension that pervades the atmosphere shines through the pages of the book, making the protagonists real. Their relationship fortunately does not overshadow the fantasy plot; on the contrary, the two combine beautifully. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves the fantasy genre: it has all the elements to please you!

This book was weird.

There was a lot of angst. Two lead characters that I'm not sure if I like at all. I think that the MMC Aiden might be better than he seems. But I'm pretty sure the FMC Rae is worse than she seems in the beginning.

This book could have used a good bit more world-building, because there's so much going on, all part of larger political machinations, and frankly, I don't really understand it at all. There just wasn't enough information given about it. This book wants to be master-level chess, dropping big reveals at the end, but I didn't care about any of it because I didn't really understand enough of the game for any of these reveals to have much punch.

But again, I didn't care because I don't understand enough about the witches, fae, and vampires - their history, the skirmishes, who most of these fucking people are - for it to mean anything to me.

A lot of characters die in this book, but they're all people we meet briefly or are told about, so again, it didn't really have that much weight. And coming from me, that's a big deal - I'm a fucking sap, I cry at commercials. I managed a little sniffle for but again, barely knew that character. I was mostly just sad because the FMC was sad, which is meh.

I don't know that I care where anything goes from here because all the main characters are so supremely fucked up that I kind of feel like they get what they get.

Lastly, the romantasy element. I have to be frank, I don't buy that any relationship between them is possible. I firstly don't buy that they feel anything, given how easily they fuck each other over. But I secondly don't buy that it would even be possible, given how much they've harmed each other. It's super toxic, and I'm not here for it.

Not planning to read the next when it comes out.

Never Run From An Immortal delivers a moody, magic-laced urban fantasy romance that blends danger, desire, and dark politics into an interesting narrative. Set in a world where fae, vampires, witches, and humans coexist in uneasy balance, this book has many elements that caught my attention and made me immediately start reading this.

The story follows Rae Farren, a sharp-tongued and cunning witch adept at hiding her true identity with a long list of secrets, who strikes a dangerous deal with Aidan Vale, a powerful vampire Lord grappling with the loss of part of his magic. Forced into a fake marriage for survival and strategy, their reluctant partnership quickly blurs the line between enemy, ally, and something more.

Price builds an original universe in the intricate setting of Demesia with unique vampire orders, magical systems, and political factions. It provides a compelling backdrop that enhances the narrative's depth. However, it can be very confusing for some readers as it was for me. The book introduces some original terms (like PADs and the various vampire factions) that took time to mentally organize. It’s rewarding once everything clicks, but it could be disorienting for readers. I spent the first portion of the book trying to understand and grasp all the details of this world the author built, it does has a glossary at the beginning, but I was still a bit confused for some time.

The main characters are really interesting to follow, Rae is such a badass and so is Aidan. Their banter is fire. Rae’s snarky resilience clashes perfectly with Aidan’s cold, measured intensity. But beneath the tension simmers real vulnerability, which makes their connection feel earned, not rushed. The slow burn romance? Delicious. Fake marriage, forced proximity, mind-sharing, and enemies to lovers? Yes, yes, and yes. But Price executes them with emotional depth instead of relying on clichés. There’s also a perfect dash of moral grayness in both leads that kept me guessing.

Aidan’s arc, in particular, explores what happens when a leader is stripped of what once defined him. Rae’s journey is about reclaiming power on her own terms. Both stories intertwine beautifully as the stakes escalate. Themes like hidden identities, moral ambiguity, and the struggle for power are woven seamlessly into the plot, adding layers to the characters' journeys.

I also really enjoyed the side characters and I could connect with them, I wish it was on a deeper level but I still cared for them. I hope they can be even more developed in the next book.

Putting aside the confusing world-building which you get used to after some time and the characters' usage of recreational drugs which was quite often and I don't really like it much, but that's a me thing. I had some other problems with the book despite having enjoyed it as well. While the first and final thirds of the book are intense and fast-moving, the middle dips slightly. Certain scenes felt like they lingered just a bit too long without progressing the plot, I also felt some parts were a bit repetitive. Rae's persistent sarcasm, while initially endearing, occasionally overshadows deeper emotional development, making it challenging to fully connect with her character. Personally, I enjoyed her biting humor and refusal to back down. But some might find her sarcasm overbearing, especially early on, when her emotional walls are still sky-high. Despite my issues with it, I really enjoyed the book and I'm looking forward to the next one, especially after that ending.

Finally, Never Run From An Immortal offers a captivating blend of fantasy and romance, set against a backdrop of political intrigue and magical conflict. While certain aspects, like pacing and character depth, could be refined, the novel lays a promising foundation for the series. Fans of urban fantasy with complex world-building and nuanced relationships may find this an engaging read.

These characters? please, they are sooo good!

I have to admit, the title pulled me in with this story, but the characters kept me hooked. Rae and Aidan are a great pair of main characters with well written backgrounds and strong personalities from the first word.

Whilst I did struggle with the magic/family background to this story at about 30% in, this clicked for me, and I was just along for the fabulous ride.

The marriage of convenience trope can sometimes come across as a little creepy, but it was very well written in this book.

oh, and the banter? All day, please!

2.5 ⭐️

First, a big thank you to NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Never Run From An Immortal had a premise that immediately caught my attention. The blend of urban fantasy with a vampire x witch dynamic, plus morally gray main characters, sounded right up my alley. The worldbuilding was intricate and well-developed, making the setting feel immersive and lived-in. I also appreciate a good slow burn, but in this case, the pacing dragged a bit too much for my taste.

My biggest struggle was connecting with Rae. While I love a strong-willed FMC, her constant sass felt over the top at times, making it difficult for me to fully invest in her journey. That being said, I can absolutely see why many readers loved this book. The tension between Rae and Aidan, along with the enemies-to-lovers dynamic, will definitely appeal to those who enjoy complex relationships and detailed fantasy settings.

While this one wasn’t quite for me, I’d still recommend it to readers who enjoy rich worldbuilding, political intrigue, and a slow-burn romance packed with tension. If those elements are your thing, Never Run From An Immortal might be the perfect read for you!

“Humans, Vampires… the rest of the Orders. It’s as if everyone has forgotten that there’s life outside of fighting. That Demesia… Mazyr… could be something wholly different without it.” He took a long drag, and then said, “Something better.”
“I knew you were lying when you said you don’t dream.”
******

This book is a masterfully woven urban fantasy that throws strong, sarcastic characters into a marriage of convenience…and then turns their unlikely partnership entirely on its head. I absolutely loved becoming acquainted with this world, and while the romance will leave you begging for more, the twists and turns will leave you breathless.

From the world’s history and lore, to the independently powerful main characters, absolutely iconic side characters, and scorchingly slow burn romance, this book is a CANNOT MISS for urban fantasy lovers and anyone else looking to dip their toes in the genre. An instant favorite!!

This book has all the makings of a standout romantacy—Fae, witches, vampires, wolf shifters—it’s a supernatural cocktail that checks all the right boxes. With a dual POV, enemies-to-lovers tension, forced proximity, and a deliciously morally grey love interest, it hits on some of my absolute favorite tropes.

Was it enjoyable? Absolutely.
Was the world-building detailed and immersive? Without a doubt.

And yet… something didn’t fully grab me. I can’t quite put my finger on what was missing from this recipe, but it didn’t pull me in as much as I wanted it to. That said, I fully recognize that I’m a mood reader, and that could’ve been the only thing standing between me and complete obsession.

If you love a richly built fantasy world and those tropes I mentioned, this one is definitely worth a shot. The bones of a great series are here—I’m curious to see where it goes next.

Thank you Victory Editing for the arc!

I loved Rae, she’s protective of her friends, cares about animals, doesn’t give a f about what people think about her, and she’s so strong!
Her and Aiden’s relationship was a slow burn filled with a ton of banter which I loved. Aiden is also a bad ass and the leader of the vampires but was super swoony when it came to Rae.
My one complaint is I wish the magic was a little more explained. Other than that if you enjoy urban fantasy with fae, witches, vampires, found family, and fun animal sidekicks then you’ll enjoy this story! I will definitely be picking up book 2!

I received the ARC of this book through Netgalley.
This book had me doubting my guesses of the events in the book and kept me on my toes. I really enjoyed this urban fantasy with a little bit of everything. The spice and tension in this book was great! All the twist and turns in this book was keeping me from wanting to put down this book down even though I had adult duties to take care of.
I am excited for the official release of this book to buy the physical copy for my bookshelf and I am hoping there is a second book in the works.

ARC Read - INCREDIBLE

"No one touches what's mine."

Rae, the strong willed FMC makes a bargain with Aiden - the intriguing Vampire MMC - which results in them being joined in a marriage of convenience.
Both of them are fighting to stop a war, but are they both on the same side?

This book was AMAZING. I was totally absorbed from the first chapter.
The characters were very well developed - Rae was strong willed, knew what she wanted and was morally grey herself. Aiden was the perfect measure of grumpy, possessive and caring... and a Vampire, so can never go wrong! 🧛‍♂️
The side characters are great too, I really cared for them - especially the two animal ones!

The plot is a dual POV, where I enjoyed both narrators - each had their own voice in the book and I really enjoyed hearing their own perspectives.
The slow burn was BURNING 🔥🔥🔥 and the spice was perfect!
The world building is great too - you know enough about the world, without it being force fed to you, and without it being too overwhelming.

The ending had me on the edge of my seat. The emotional damage... 😢
I already cannot wait for the next one - please tell me it'll be out soon?!?! 💕✨️

Never Run From an Immortal is a fast-paced, action-packed PNR story filled with delightful banter, marriage of convenience, forced proximity set in a dark & gritty world where vampires, Fae, & humans are at constant war & power struggle.

The urban atmosphere and overall feeling of never-ending conflicts set the perfect stage for the two main characters—a vampire lord and a thief, both on their own secret missions and their own secret agendas. So, you can only imagine what will happen when their worlds collide in an explosion of epic proportions. An explosion of secrets, mysteries, haunting pasts & inner demons. An explosion of hatred and love, pain and hurt, hope and betrayal.

I enjoyed the dynamics between the main characters, Rae and Aiden. They are both flawed in their own ways, afraid of letting someone in, and finding comfort in another person. But, sometimes the things you most run from, find you at exactly the right time and place.

So, should you run from an immortal? Or to one?

Thank you, Victoria, for having me as your ARC reader; it was a blast.

Wow that was a ride

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for my very first ARC 🥰

I was hooked from the very start

I love it when the FMC and MMC match each other energy. Rae and Aiden where perfect for each other

They both had banter, tension, sass and perfect amount of flirtation

The pace was chefs kiss…. And there was a good mix between plot and character

There was magic, warfare, darkness, fae, vampires and witches… everything for everyone

There were times where I was a bit confused about the world building and storyline… but then I was quickly brought back

The plot twist and cliffhangers has me BEGGING for the next book

This book had me hooked!!

I wasn’t prepared for how much I’d fall for Rae’s and Aidan.

Their dynamic is tense and snarky.

I flew through the pages, loving the magic, political games, and the slow-burn chaos of their alliance! I absolutely can’t wait to find out what happens next as we leave on a tantalising cliff hanger!!

If you love morally grey characters, enemies forced into uneasy alliances, hidden identities, secrets and lies, and a gripping, page turning urban fantasy, this one’s for you!!

This was an arc read, thank you to the author for a copy! This is my honest review.

ARC review
Victoria created a complex, interesting and intriguing world with different magical creatures (vampires, witches, humans and others). Lore and politics captivated me. But I haven’t found a connection with our main girl Rae.

She is strong, powerful, mastermind of opposition, sassy and just oh-so-awesome. And i get it, she is 28 why not? Rae had a life full of dangers, betrayals and hardships, but I couldn’t understand how she could predict, plan and navigate all the players in this political game, what to do (even with master plan) it sounded a little bit too easy.

In comparison our male interest Aidan was practical, brutal but naive at the same time and I couldn’t understand if he knew all along about Rae and her plans or she is just too good.

And with everything i said already, i liked the plot.
We have an oppressed peoples, people who want to change something, anything to make a difference. And Rae is inside the opposition, she creates magical jewelry with protection, spells and (not known) connection to all her creations like a web.

And our girl wants to destroy all the oppressors and she started with vampires and especially with their highest rank Providents. Those guys can read minds, influence you and they just above the others. But while main plans in progress, she is trying to find funds to buy silver for the jewelry. And she is stealing it in the bar.

During one of the missions there is an attack and she captured attention of powerful Provident Aidan, so their story started.
And now just “I’ll destroy you”, but “i also want to change something. Let’s pretend we are in a relationship so you are protected, and we can plot”. Sounds funny, and with added spark and lust between them it was entertaining to read.
And you can guess the rest, they battle the attraction, they are trying to uncover the truth about kidnapped people and killings. It was great.

Book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for approving me to read this book, I’m rating it 3.75 - 4.0 stars.

I had a lot of fun reading this, the FMC is pure feminine rage and sarcasm. The FMC just has this presence throughout and despite the catastrophic and chaotic things that occur in her life, she maintains that formidable presence. Our MMC is broody and a little self loathing, but he commands attention and doesn’t tolerate disloyalty. Those two were quite a pair on the page, epitome of tension as they clashed and bit back at one another. A true enemies to lovers fantasy!

A lot happens in a short amount of time, but the story doesn’t feel rushed. I enjoyed the twists, but I did see one of them coming.

This is a great book 1 in the series and I’m really looking forward to what happens next.

Amazing- where do I begin? Victoria J. Prince is a brilliant writer, she had me hooked within the first few chapters of Never Run From An Immortal. She created relationships between the characters that felt real, with strains and triumphs that other writers cannot accomplish. It was well paced and such a fun read for me, there was never a dull moment where I felt like I should take a break. I guarantee I will not be alone in this statement, please Victoria Prince write the next book soon!

The story follows Rae, a powerful fierce female, her every move calculated, planned, and her thoughts hidden. She created relationships between the characters that felt real, with strains and triumphs that other writers cannot accomplish.

Thank you Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for this ARC!

For fans of Book of Azrael, this new world is definitely one to get caught up in. The quick pacing leads to a dynamic read, but at times also causes confusion over details and character plots. I’m still wrapping my head around what some of the timelines are coming out of this book with both characters and side plots, but I’m invested enough to want to understand it.

I’m really keen to see where this series goes, and I’ve become attached to the characters. I think with a good chunk of the world building covered in this book, I’m excited to see what the author does with the extra space to deepen the story and character arcs in the sequel.

What?! That ending!! I need the next book right now! 😫
Great story, it sucked me right from the start! The worldbuilding was fascinating, without being overly complicated.
The plot twist near the end had my jaw dropping, so good!
My emotions ran the gauntlet with this book, from grinning to crying, and everything in between. Loved the spicy scenes! 🌶️🌶️
Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the amazing read!

This was my first ever eARC and I am NOT disappointed! Omg?! Hello?! You don’t understand.. I am OBSESSED. 😭 I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I absolutely loved it. The characters were instantly likable and I wanted to know everything about them (specifically Rae & Aidan, of course!).

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
Spice level: 🌶️🌶️ . 5 / 5
Plot? Yes! And I loved it! It really built the world that this book is set in and set the stage for everything.

My only complaint is that there was A LOT of info all at once at some points and it felt a tad rushed. Like, Miss Victoria J. Price.. I’m willing to read 500+ pages of this if you need to go over every little detail! I swear 🤩. For example, one part said Aidan snatched a knife from someone and slit their throat with it. But how did he snatch it? Where was the other person holding it? Etc. I play books in my head like a movie, so I just had to fill in the tiny gaps like that. It was left on a SOMEWHAT cliffhanger, which I’m not mad about because it just leaves me wanting more and anticipating the sequel! ❤️

Overall, I loved this book and I’m so happy I signed up to get an eARC for it. I loved it so much that I’m absolutely going to be getting a physical copy! I can’t wait to read more of Rae and Aidan’s story. 😍

**Disclaimer: I left this review willingly on my own accord and all thoughts are my own.

For starters, this is my first ever ARC and I was so excited to finally be able to do this. Her team was quick to send out the email and I just want to relay my thanks and appreciation for letting me be apart of this. It makes me want to do it more.

Now, I saw the post asking for readers and at first I was intrigued by the title and the cover. That always makes me want to find out more. I debated for a few minutes because fae isn’t really my thing but I like vampires a little more. Still not my favorite but the nibbles I read about the book was like “okay let’s take a chance. You don’t know until you try.”

I’m so glad I did.

I loved every page. The story was so enticing. The chapters ending on cliff hangers had me reading between meetings, on lunch break, waiting on my friend, etc. I felt like I was walking the streets with Rae. I felt like I was there with her working her craft, working her night hustle, and the other things she did. The story is very well written and it feels like you’re in their world. Things are thought out very well and executed lovely and they even make you wanna scream at Vale and Rae.

The only part I don’t like about this book is its book one and I want more. I love Rae. I see myself in her but also she’s just a badass. I want to know more of her story. I want to know more of Vale. I’m so heartbroken over the multitude of things in the end. I had a gut feeling it was going to happen for all of it but I didn’t imagine how on the edge of my seat and hurt I would be for everyone. I want to know where everyone goes from here.

In the beginning I did push myself a little bit because I felt I had so much information thrown to me at once, which I understand for world building, I’m just not very good at processing it all at once and ended up a little confused. By the half way point I understood all, if not most of it, much better.

I will definitely be checking out the kickstarter if I have the funds for a physical edition to have the map part as I feel that will also help my brain a little better.

I can’t wait until the next one and I hope I can be apart of this again as this was an amazing opportunity. I’m so thankful that post led me to an amazing author.

1.5 ⭐️

This was my most anticipated read of 2025, so I am absolutely heart broken. World shattered. My main two questions are, what the hell was this and why did it feel like torture? I've read fanfiction that was put together better than this book.

This book started off full force. I mean, you are immediately thrown into the chaos which usually is not a bad thing. However, it was as if the readers were expected to know everything and understand all the forces at play. It felt like I had missed several books before this. It was missing critical information to help readers understand what was happening and who everyone was. I've never been so confused in my life. This book made my brain hurt.

Rae & Aidan
Wow, what an story, and need book 2 to get more 🙌🏻☺️
Vampires, shifters, Fae, Witches, humans, all at war fighting for existence.
Testing, scheming, kidnappings, secrets, all will come out in end… well is all known in the end? We need book 2 for more information and what is gonna happen next..

It’s an intriguing and exciting storyline, characters are fun and I loved reading about them.

Definitely a 5 star 🌟 read for me.

Never Run From an Immortal follows Rae, a witch and a thief, who strikes a deal with Aidan, a brooding and centuries-old vampire lord, to survive. What begins as an uneasy alliance quickly spirals into a thrilling journey across the world of Demesia - one full of magic, monsters, ancient grudges, and secrets that could change everything.

The characters are incredibly entertaining to follow. Aidan is your classic grumpy vampire, but with a twist, he has hopes and dreams beyond the usual brood-and-bite routine, which makes him feel fresh and engaging. Rae is witty, fierce, and clever, with just enough recklessness to keep things interesting. She’s a standout fantasy protagonist and feels like a natural addition to the genre's hall of fame.

The worldbuilding is rich and layered. Demesia is sprawling, full of danger and mystery, and while the story avoids info dumping, that also means you’ll occasionally feel a bit confused. But stick with it, patience brings answers, and the immersion is worth it.

The plot unfolds deliciously. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, it takes a sharp left turn in the best way. There are so many layers to this story that it feels like watching a fast-paced urban fantasy movie, complete with explosive action, high-stakes twists, and cinematic energy.

The romance is a slow-burn full of tension, banter, and longing. Rae and Aidan’s dynamic crackles from the start, and watching their connection evolve from distrust to something deeper is so satisfying. It builds and builds until it finally explodes, and when it does, it’s everything you could want.

If you're craving a fantasy with smart characters, marriage of convenience, immersive worldbuilding, and a romance that makes your heart race, Never Run From an Immortal is absolutely worth picking up.
