The Lost Castle by the Sea

Rate this book
Two families bound by betrayal.
One castle built for love. A secret that changes everything.

When Boston historian Kira Jakobsen moves to Hamburg to complete her master's degree, she stumbles upon a news report about a castle on Germany's North Sea coast - one she recognizes instantly. Her grandmother had always told stories about this place - about how her father built it for love in the 1920s, only to have it stolen from him. Stories Kira's father dismissed as mere fairy tales.

Determined to uncover the truth about her German ancestors, Kira travels to the small coastal town of Süderwiek. There she meets Noah, a charming local who helps her investigate the castle's past. But as their attraction grows, Kira discovers that Noah is hiding He is a descendant of the very family her grandmother accused of theft.

As Kira digs deeper into the castle's history, she uncovers a tale of forbidden love, betrayal, and a treasure found in the mudflats. But can she trust Noah to help her reveal the truth about their families' intertwined past? And will uncovering old wounds heal - or destroy - their chance at love?

A sweeping romance that moves between past and present, THE LOST CASTLE BY THE SEA is a story about how the sins of the past echo through generations, and how love can either break or heal the chains of history.

I am not going to trash this story, mainly because it does not deserve such treatment. It is fairly well written and I suspect my main problem is a clash of cultures. Please read the story for yourself and make your own decisions. You may actually love it.
