Lynx

From the day we met, Fire Carlson and I have been in chaos. His constant jokes and witty remarks drive me crazy, and he knows it. We argue and fight, but there are two things I can’t our undeniable attraction and how he excels as a father. One heated interaction changes our lives, and suddenly, Fire needs my help. We have to prove that his boys are safe and loved or risk Fire losing them forever.

I’ve never taken Fire seriously until I have to live in his house, pretend to be his woman, and try not to fall in love with him. It doesn’t help that he’s trying to prove we are meant to be together. He may tell a joke or two, but one thing is Fire’s going all out to show that he’s never faking about me.

Polka Dot Love with a side of Fire

When I say I love Fire and Lynx real bad I mean it . I really sat here and cheese and laughed during this entire book. Fire is off his rocker, matched his name to the t and I loved it so bad. This man Fire was showing his love in the most craziest ways, but it warmed my heart. Lynx stepping up into her roll of mommy OMG I loved it. Lynx was so gentle and loving to ocean and lake no matter what. You could tell that her being in their life had helped them progress so much.

When I say that you’re gonna get your laughs in this book, you absolutely will .I don’t know if my favorite part was the man who shall not be named being glued to the seat. I fell out my chair from laughing so hard. Go ahead and download this book right now you won’t be sorry!

Aubry J always delivers!

Aubry’s signature unhinged hero, strong FMC and (and one of a kind) humor shine in this book! It’s a joy to read, funny but deep when it needs to be, like when Lynx reflects on her hard-earned confidence given her unconventional beauty or when Fire is trying to figure out how best to love her in action. Definitely recommend!

So good

Aubry J you did not disappoint me with this book. I truly enjoyed this book from the very first page. I laughed to hard I had tears rolling down my chubby cheeks. I was pissed at the simplicity, but fell in love after it all. Y'all just read the damn book.

Sigh

Fire was so ridiculous that he made me tired. He was very immature and childish and disrespectful. It was not cute how he constantly made fun of her vitiligo in such demeaning ways under the guise of being instantly in love with her when he never took the time out to have a real conversation with her or get to know her. He was also selfishly narcissistic, his way or no way. There was no real chemistry between him and Lynx, no real relationship build up, just him and his ridiculous antics that was way over the top and too much, I was able to skip chapters and not miss anything. There was also a lot of inconsistencies like the author forgot what she previously wrote. I don't see how her so called best friend just sat there and let Fire disrespect her at every turn without going off on him on her behalf, brother in law or not he'd have to see me about my friend. I also don't see what Lynx saw in him besides him being a good father, he was overly unhinged, did what he wanted but never gave any characteristics of being a good man. I mean how did he just get them married without even asking her, so little respect for her thoughts and feelings. I understand making a character a little crazy, but still make them a likeable human because sometimes too much is too much and Fire was so too much that he was annoying more so than crazily funny. I don't like him, he's annoyingly immature, irrational, has little respect for others thoughts or feelings. I thought Krude did too much but they are about neck and neck. I'm sorry, didn't care for this story or the characters at all.

Hilarious and sweet

I've been interested in Fire and Lynx's story since the end of "Caught Me Slippin." Fire was a man on a mission to get his polka dot, and I loved it. As always with any Aubry J book, hilarity ensues. Fire was so funny, and he loved so hard. Now, was he immature? Definitely, because, sir, if you like that woman, why not just tell her instead of picking on her? Lynx was just what I wanted in an FMC, but I did wonder why she was still entertaining what's-his-face when she could clearly see that he wasn't as respectful of her as he should. Ocean and Lake stole the show here, and the family dynamic with the boys they created was so sweet. Fire's methods were a bit unorthodox, but hey, sometimes you have to lie in order to win.

loved the storyline

This book was hilarious. I loved Fire and Lynx storyline and the way they handle each other. I’m glad he stood on business about his future wife and I can tell you he is definitely my book bae. Ain’t nothing wrong with a little crazy. I love that all the storylines have the same family and friend characters and unpacking each couples story individually. Keep em coming, can’t wait for the next one. Must Read!

This was my first Aubry J book. I really enjoyed it! Fyre and Polka Dot were a whole mess, but the kind I love! One reader’s unhinged MMC is another’s MMC with purpose and intention. 🤷🏽‍♀️😆

3.75⭐️🌶️🌶️ I really enjoyed this book, and I thought it was more of a romcom than anything. Literally, I laughed about so much stuff in this book. Fire is literally clinically insane, and Lynx just didn’t even stand a chance. I really like the relationship between Fire and his sons, and even though they were not biologically his children, he did the right thing by adopting them and raising them as his own as well as Lynx.
I also didn’t like that the author referenced a lot of characters that apparently we’re supposed to know who they are. I don’t know if they were explained in the previous brothers’ book or what, but I was a little bit confused about who is who, and I didn’t read the other brothers’ books, so maybe that’s on me. I would have liked to have a little bit more of their life in the epilogue, but I guess if there’s another book about one of their friends or something else, then we might be able to get a chance to see the progression.

Lawd knows I love an unhinged, and delusional male character. Fire was all that and more with his crazy self. When I learned that he was cool with Krude, Nine, and the rest of the fellas, I knew I was in for a good time.

Fire, how you gone insult this woman, name her polka dot, and call her you wife all in the same breath? 👀 See, completely unhinged, but I loved it and him. 🤷🏿‍♀️ He just allowed his crazy flag to wave this entire read. Just when I thought I had seen it all, he upped the ante with more of his crazy antics.

Lynx was not a push over in the least, but trying to fight against her growing feelings for Fire was a losing battle. The way they went tit for tat, calling each other out, and dubbed it as flirting was wild as hell! 😂 I love how Lynx owned her look and was ready to cuss out anyone who tried to hurt her with their words. They way she loved on those twins, and how they adored her was beautiful. 😍

I held my breath waiting for the ball to drop and Lynx to find out what Fire had been keeping from her. Although she was pissed, her love for him and the boys overshadowed her an anger. She knew she would not walk away from that man. Enjoyed this wild ride, and looking forward to the next one.

I mean just straight DELULU! Fire was delusional to a T!! And I loved every single second of it. I really do love a good unhinged man!

Polka Dot was just the absolute cutest nickname to me and Lynx knew it! That’s why she couldn’t fight it lol - my girl tried so hard to run from the love that Fire was giving but she couldn’t run from him or the boys. She needed somebody that could go toe to toe with her.

One thing about miss Aubry J is she going to keep you crying laughing and swooning over her men! Fire did not disappoint, he was HILARIOUS and a nut case but loved Lynx so well!

Side noteeeee: I can’t tell who I liked more Fire or Krude??? Like both? lol.

fav part🤎: definitely how the boys got the parts for their cars! Fire is crazy 😂

SMH!! 🤦🏾‍♀️

Fire and Genesis are definitely related. Neither of them have a sense and the whole time reading this I kept thinking how I know they related. I loved every second of it. Fire was crazy but he was always a good man to lynx. The games he played was hilarious but I love how he didn’t ever lie and he didn’t play behind her. Both him and his brother are Mr. Talk you through it and that is crazy sexxii. Loooove it

circles

This book just kept going around in circles. It was irritating but I still tried to finish it. This will be like the 10th book I DNF, so I really tried to push through. No matter how many times I stopped reading. But at 61% they’re both still acting dumb is too much. Lynx acting dumb like she don’t know Fire like her for real has gotten super frustrating. Then the dumb act of pretending to be in a relationship like be for real 🙄🙄. Ik the author gave a disclaimer at the beginning that the characters were going to be childish but this is beyond ridiculous and super cringey on top of everything else. And what’s the reason for wanting to kill Daniel? It’s not necessary and honestly idk if he went through with it or not because once again I DNF the story.

No muss, no fuss, and soo much fun to read!

This is the follow-up to Caught me Slippin’. This is a good time book, so expect to have some laughs!

It's crazy that there is no rhyme or reason what order Aubry Jackson releases these characters' stories. You get what you get, and you love the chaos and shenanigans when you get em!!

Fire and Lynx did not disappoint in this enemies to lovers story 🙌🏾!

I'm 6 hours in on this audio, and I have to give it up. This man is childish with his juvenile antics and nicknames. He's not even nice to someone he claims to be in love with. The writing is easy to follow, and I get the premise of the story but I do not like the main maile character at all, and I don't want to see the FMC tie herself to him and his antics.
When he pulled a weapon on his love interest to get his way, I had to give it up. That is nowhere near what my reading palette is.

Why is everyone grunting?

Why is everyone grunting???? Are they pigs?? Fifty two "grunted".

Anyway, it's a good storyline. The names are annoying. The book really needs to be edited properly.

Decent Story

Needs an editor. Too many mistakes and I don’t understand how this author forgets her own details. It was a decent read though.

This man thought that the only way to get an opportunity with this woman to fall in love with him was to trap her. Fire knew that he loved him some Lynx. He also knew that she saw him as a man who didn't take much seriously. Fire decided that if given the opportunity he could show Lynx that he was more than just a man boy. He had to think of some way for that to happen. His plan was to make her believe that he needed to fake a serious relationship with her in order to help with the adoption process of his twin boys.
He moved her into his house and then started to love on her and court her. She started to fall for this man after seeing how good of a father he was and how he made her feel safe with him. When she was made aware of his deception she distanced herself from him. He let her for about a week before he moved himself into her house and revealing that the two were legally married and stuck with each other. And I mean this man moved his stuff in down to the children's wallpaper.
This book was very enjoyable. Even though Fire was very upsetting and drove me crazy he was not boring. There wasn't any boredom from either of these characters and their daily lives. The author gave me an opportunity to get to know the characters. I would love to know more about them because there is so much more to them. I like how involved and passionate Lynx is about children and their care and development. Fire is very supportive and loves everything about this woman.
The way Fire talks Lynx through her pleasure was sexy. That man was a words of affirmation good time.
The part that gave me pause was when Fire finally got to killing Daniel, Lynx' ex boyfriend. Fire revealed that he had a master plan all along with Daniel. He wanted Daniel destroyed before he died. He let that man believe his business was destroyed and sold his house to Daniel through foreclosure and none oof it was real. He said that he set up the arrest warrant so Daniel would think that he won in the beef with Fire. It seemed too insane. Fire did tell Lynx that he mapped out all of his actions, but that seemed so far off.

This is my second time reading this and I loved it just as much as the first time. I’ve been in a reading slump for monthhhhhs now and my rereads never disappoint

This book is so funny, like everything in it was funny. My only thing is the amount of characters omgggg, I didn’t hate it.. I actually loved all of the side characters but omg it was so hard to keep up. They all got some loose screws.

I am in loveeee with everyone’s names, Fire Ocean Lake Earth Lynx McCoy.. girl you snapped idc they’re so cute and they just fit so well tg

Now Fire… pmo so bad but i love him idk. He was really mean to my girl in the beginning idc 💔. His reasonings were stupid and so childish but w.e. He was hilarious and an amazingggg father. I love how he didn’t play about Lynx while low key playing her. HES ALSO DANGEROUS ASFFFF. like he’s such a manipulator he had me thinking Lynx was doing the most when she should’ve been doing more.

Lynxxxxxxxx ahhhhh I love her downnnnn. My only thing is her trying to apologize to Daniel on Fire’s behalf like sistaaaaa nooooo. But she was an amazing mommy, she’s better than me tho I would’ve scheduled visitation rights as soon as I broke up with that man. Cause tuh at that point you couldn’t tell them kids that wasn’t their mama and vice versa. She should’ve kicked Fire in the head (I love them tg trust. But he needed his ass whopped at least once. Being sent away twice ain’t help that nigga)

I hated the way Lynx found out about the lie tho, like I had to skip that part cause I just know I would’ve crashed out on his mama

Ocean and Lake omgggggg the absolute cutest. I can’t.

And again 10/10 on the side characters.

fun read!

Upon reading the synopsis I didnt realize this book was connected to “Caught Me Slippin” but when I read reviews and realized it was, I got excited. I was looking forward to reading these characters’ story! And overall it did not disappoint. I love a book where the MMC doesnt play about his love interest. And its always a great time with this cast of siblings, cousins and friends. I will say the back and forth between Lynx and Fire did start to get a little repetitive and Lynx was frustratingly obtuse lol. I kept wishing they would just communicate like regular people but thats also where the entertainment came in.

There were two things I didnt understand though. 1. Fire’s description said he had locs but the character visual at the beginning of the book does not And 2. When Coy first told Lynx about where she wanted to give birth…Lynx knew the place belonged to their ex friend but didnt say anything. She was nervous all the way into the appointment soo why not give your best friend a heads up? But also its hard to believe that Coy wouldn’t have thoroughly researched a place she planned to deliver her baby at.

Anyway overall fun book to read and I look forward to more from this universe. PS - is there a family/friends tree somewhere? Its hard keeping track of who is who and how everyone is connected. Also would be great if the other books were linked when characters are mentioned so its easy to find them!

Fire Told Many Jokes, But He Never Told a Lie about Polka Dot.

Fire was a mess in the best BDE way possible and from the beginning, although childish at times, he was all gas no breaks about Polka Dot. This is my first book from the author and I really liked it. She clearly weaved a lot of her past characters into the book which seemed a little like overkill at times because there were so many names being mentioned, but I was still able to follow along without having read their stories. For someone who had read the stories, I can imagine that it would have been good to catch up with those characters so I am not mad at it completely. Fire was unhinged and some of his antics were obviously very fictional, but understanding that this book is a work of fiction I sniggled and giggled all the way through all the havoc him and the crew wreaked. I liked that Lynx was for the most part a self assured, smart, and independent woman who had a good heart, especially when it came to their boys. Speaking of the boys... OMG, I swooned at every interaction. Overall, a lot happened in the short span of time and there were a lot of people mentioned, but at the center of it all was an unhinged MMC who had yummy BDE and who did not play about the FMC and together they created something their way and it was entertaining and engaging to read about. I really liked it!

Aubry J. I need the catalog rundown because I need to see this all these characters unfold how you envisioned them all!!!! I loved everything about this book. One thing is for sure if you’re looking for books where the men are ass backwards and full of antics and foolery in the best way possible then Aubrey J. Is your author to look for. I smiled and laughed so much reading this book!! Fire baby is a damn fool and is the biggest man child but, how can you be man? He is the best kind of man child I have read about thus far. The way he goes about getting his woman😵 it’s wrong but I can’t stay made at Fire. He try’s to show love and care for Lynx while still being his silly ways in his love language. I see how him and Genesis are friends.

Then you have our girl Lynx who is a straight shooter when it comes to her witty come backs. Baby girls mouth lol. Polka dot was becoming more comfortable with her self and her confidence spiked. I loved that for her. Lynx was in a chokehold and down bad for the man she was annoyed with and his babies. Never once correcting him about who they belonged too.

Favorite seven is the dinner when this man told her come her kitty kitty kitty while she was being proposed too!!! I was no good!!!

My friend read the first book and was in the middle of this book when she told me to read. I did... & I finished this all in one night. Baby, Fire & Lynx are something else. Mostly Fire... bc why are you a child when all you had to do was tell that lady that you liked her? Mind you, your kids are just as obsessed with her as you are.

I loved their dynamic. It absolutely got on my nerves, but you figured out very quickly that was them & it was cute lol. They both PLAYED! Lynx didn't piss me off the way that I thought she would, but the whole Daniel of it all could have been avoided VERY early on. That nigga was laid out in her front yard & she had already forgotten about him being so focused on Fire.

I am so happy to see that these two got their HEA... even if it did come around in the most wildest way. Like chile,
