I'm not a golf doctor and I don't play one on tv or the golf course so I found Dr. Winters' book to be quite helpful and resourceful. Winters puts a lot of good information in easy to understand bits. His use of real-life testimonials from people that have played the game at a high level helped to drive home the points he was making. Winters gives lots of details during each chapter about the points, but then breaks down those points into easy to digest bits at the end of each chapter. The information will give the golfer a lot to think about, but hopefully off the golf course so they can better enjoy their time on the golf course. I received this book through the Goodreads firstreads program and it was a great addition.
I thought this book was excellent for a mental basket case like myself. My daughter actually picked this book up for me when she saw it at the library. She knows me well and what I need! The book is very practical and gives a lot of examples of former tour and college players. I actually took pictures of the highlights in each chapter so that I can take it to the course and be ready next time I play golf.
No matter the stage of golf we find ourselves in, this book reminds us of many nuances of the game that we tend to forget or ignore. It’s a good read no matter your handicap.
Book is well written. Comments from pro golfers helps to explain common error I have are the same ones they have. Information has allows me to change my mindset and improve my golf game.
If I was a good golfer then I think this would be more helpful, but I'd say I'm well below average! Interesting book with sound principles if a bit long-winded.
Whatever mental issues that crop up on, or even off, course will be described and possibly remedied. I found the advice in the last chapter most useful.
Anything that can improve my golf game must be good. Winters book is useful and detailed in improving the mental game of golfers. From beginners to seasoned golfers, there are easy to read stories and plenty of tips from experts to improve your game. This book identifies mistakes and provides detailed steps to correct them. I am looking forward to getting back on the course to put some tips into practice.
To all of my Goodreads golfing friends and relatives-this book cut 7 strokes from my game yesterday afternoon. You will play golf with a whole new mental state after reading this book
