Melissa March is a divorced vet devoted to her dogs and cats. Peter Winthrop is a widowed elementary school principal with a 5 year old daughter. When he hits a dog they come together. Both are leery of a relationship, but the animals bring them together. Fun read. Prequel to "Lonely Hearts".
