In 1678 John Bunyan published the book, "The Pilgrim's Progress from this world, to That which is to come" and it became a world-wide best seller (ultimately in over 200 languages) and has never been out of print. However it is an allegory of a fictional character who is designed to represent the journey of a sincere Christian in his struggle to follow God. This is not meant to detract from the spiritual genius and insights of Bunyan's book, but there is a parallel story found in the New Testament itself that is TRUE. However in order to see it we must first lay aside our religious indoctrination that colors our perspectives. "The Real Pilgrim's Progress" is the true story of the most well-known pilgrim in the New Testament. It is presented here in an allegorical style, but not as imaginary and it is not fictional. Names are changed to protect our preconceptions and challenge what we think we know about God, man and sin. Follow this "Pilgrim" as he goes from being the worst monster to being transformed to one of the best men who ever lived. In so doing you may see some of yourself as well and also gain hope of similar transformation. (This title was previously published under the title, "Heptapolis")
