HIS FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN... I thought I knew where my life was going. Thought I knew what I wanted, what my place in this world was. I was wrong. So wrong. The choices I made took three long years away from me, and now I'm back and trying to figure out where I belong. Then I meet Amy, and everything comes to a crashing halt. THE PAST HAUNTS HER... I knew I was missing out on...pretty much all life had to offer. But I had Frankie-my surrogate father-a job, a roof over my head, and that had to be enough. Then Cade comes into the diner with his brooding eyes and dangerous smile, and he keeps coming back. Just for me. When he learns my secret, I know he will hate me...and Cade hating me will tear me apart.
Somewhat shy, though very silly, and rather cheeky once you get to know her, British born author Danielle Taylor writes stories with characters that tear into your heart and soul. When Danielle isn't writing or procrastinating, you can find her doing Mummy things; and if not for a funky pancreas, she'd eat cake at every meal.
Okay, so, I wrote the book. But I love it! Is that weird? Maybe. But I freaking love Cade and Amy. This story crashed into me - two weeks of intense writing brought this story to life and I can't wait to share it with the world! This is my best story yet, I think anyways!
In exchange for an honest review, I received an ARC fo Crash into Me. Now, let me start by saying that this review has been in no way solicited. This is my complete, honest to God, unbiased review!
I adore Danielle and everything she writes! I can't say it enough. She always manages to capture my heart with every word she writes! This beautiful tale is one of two souls who have endured the worst of humanity, but eventually come together. Their time together is no where near easy. Their lives are tested time and time again. Can they overcome the challenges in their way? I guess you'll have to read to find out!
Now for the formal stuff: Her characters are very well developed. Her plot is outstanding and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Don't get too comfy, because just like real life, Cade and Amy face a windy, curvy, twisty, bumpy road ahead of them. Her writing is completely fabulous. My favorite thing about it is how descriptive she is. I can close my eyes and imagine Frankie's diner. I can see Cade and Amy and I can smell the bacon and cheese hamburger, which I was kind of mad about because I've really been craving one since I started the novel.
I highly recommend this book to everyone! It was an amazing read, leaving me even more in love with Danielle Taylor's work then I have ever been.
Cade is a determined man. He wants to live but is having a hard time. His family thought he was dead until he was rescued. His sister got him out of the house to help his moods so they went to this diner for lunch. Amy was their waitress and once he looked in her eyes he felt a connection and protective over her but didn't know how or why. Amy is a shy girl who has had an awful upbringing, luckily Frankie was there to rescue her and keep her safe. Amy is a closed up person and doesn't understand what these feelings are about with Cade. He comes in to the diner everyday to order the same thing each day. Something happens at the diner and Cade comes to the rescue. He doesn't really know how to make conversation or tell his feelings. Once Amy tells Cade her confession he runs and she is devastated. Cade has been miserable so his family decides to help. He finally goes to the diner one night and plays her a song and tells her the truth. A tragic accident happens and puts case in a coma he wakes up to a surprise or all surprises. Will he accept them or will he run again? This is an amazing book I can't wait for more!!!
Well, I received and ARC for Crash Into Me and in return write an honest review. So here it comes.
Why was I thinking of the characters while I was NOT reading this novel? Why was I thinking of that delicious burger that sat on Cade's plate while I was reading this story? Simply because the way the story has been written, the way it has been described leaves you thinking about them, about their pasts, fears and what's going to happen next.
Cade and Amy two different people who have both suffered the worst but in the end they both seem to be coming from the same world. They are both afraid to share their emotions. Danielle was as usual very good in describing them in such a detailed way.
The way Danielle laid down the carpet for the rest of the characters is simply amazing. I am really looking forward in reading novel no. 2.
I would recommend this story to anyone. However you do need to get ready to shed a tear or two.
Well done Danielle, you have managed to keep me glued once again with your novels. Wish I could give you more than 5 stars and rest assured I will be purchasing it once it gets published.
What did I think of crash into me?.... I freaking loved it.. It sucked me in from the very first chapter and I couldn't put the book down, and the times I had to put the book down, I found myself thinking of the characters, Cade and Amy. This was because Danielle Taylor managed to capture the emotions of Cade and Amy amazingly well, leaving me at times with tears in my eyes and emotions heavy in my heart! I've 5 starred this book, but believe me if there where a 100 stars available to give I would! I'm so exited about this book because I just fell in love with the characters and the storyline, I also loved the fact that Danielle Taylor introduces us to the other characters in this book and I can't wait to read more about them, which if its anything compared to crash Into me they are going to be addictive reading once again.. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great read with strong leading characters with an amazing storyline! :)
I love this book!!! Danielle graced me with an early copy so I could give some honest reviews and let me first start by stating I will be purchasing this when it comes out.
Cade and Amy....they crawl right into your heart and latch on with a fierce grip. I read the book straight through (which is no easy feat with two kids under three). The highs are so high and the lows are so low, the emotions are felt right to your core. This is not a fluffy little feel good story and I love it! These are real people with problems that seem insurmountable but they gradually learn that some things are worth trying to fight for. You will love these characters and will only want the best for them but no one gets the best things in life without fighting for them. Please read their story to learn about their struggles and fall in love with them like I did.
Well written with editing issues that were sometimes jarring. Inputted was spell-checked into imputed, which isn't even close in meaning. Worse, the author used alliterations, when I'm pretty sure she meant analogies or even similes. There were other more typical editing issues, but they aren't numerous. This is a stand-alone book with no cliffhanger, but the seeds are sown for another couple's story.
Honestly, I would have given this book five stars except the last third of the book hit the un-believability mark for me. Bad things do happen to people, but this felt a little like piling on. . . or Job with a martyred "I deserve it." instead of "Why is God torturing me?"
Despite the editing challenges and the piling on, I really did enjoy this book. The author did a really wonderful job of expressing the frozen emotional state, fragility of control and fractured thoughts of a torture survivor returning from the war. The pain of recovery seemed to be as excruciating as the torture, because in recovery, it's critical to feel, but turning off feeling is a coping strategy for torture survival.
The love story that develops is awkward and scary for them both. Even though it takes a while to develop, the anticipation builds and we don't lose interest in their frustrating romance, because holy hotness, the dirty thoughts were panty melting. It was almost hotter that he never said them out loud. . . and probably more realistic.
The female lead is just as tortured as the male lead, but we don't discover the specifics until later in the book. Their stories colliding feels both predestined and like a cruel joke.
It feels like a huge spoiler to say there is a HEA, but I try to avoid books without them, so since there is so much angst and drama in this story, I feel like I personally could have used the encouragement to "keep going, it gets better," because at one point, I almost gave up, there were just too many obstacles.
With that said, I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a love story that overcomes impossible obstacles, quirky personalities, overbearing families, and idiotic romantic leads with very dirty minds before getting to its happy ending.
I received an ARC copy of Crash Into Me, in exchange for an honest review, and once again, Danielle has outdone herself. This story was beautifully written. It was heart breaking, emotional, intense, incredibly passionate and just the right amount of angst. Cade and Amy are wonderful characters and I adored losing myself in them. Danielle’s writing gives each and every couple such incredible depth. Every couple has an issue, no matter how big or small, it makes them special and unique and I love that. It allows the reader to connect with both of them. My heart broke for these two – the emotional pain they endured. The strength it took to open up to each other and trust their feelings, take that step out of their comfort zone in order to grasp what they truly needed and wanted. Beautiful story Danielle.
Danielle writes the most captivating entrancing books that have you feeling with and for each character. This book is no different. I love the amount of depth that she allows you to know of each character and what they are needing and wanting and feeling. Grab you a copy today and enjoy!
