Falling Madly is a spicy, laugh-out-loud small-town romcom. Expect a swoony Scottish hero who falls first, a fiery second-chance romance, and plenty of cozy chaos in Cozy Creek.
Enni Amanda is a Finnish–New Zealand rom-com author who writes warm, funny love stories with real-life bite.
She immigrated from Finland to New Zealand in 2006 and promptly fell in love with the scenery, the people, and the strange thrill of not having to defrost a car every morning. After years spent studying filmmaking, running a film festival, and zig-zagging between two countries that really should be closer together, she discovered screenwriting, which eventually led to writing books (a slippery slope).
These days she lives in the Waikato (close to the rolling hills of the Shire), raising two energetic boys, designing things, and writing books while heroically avoiding housework.
DNF @ 50%. I wanted to love it, but the MCs just weren’t for me. I disliked how the MCs are entering their relationship with very different mindsets - feels like there’s going to be a major crash and burn. Also the whole guy-secretly-building-the-girl-he’s-in-love-with-but-not-in-a-relationship-with-dream-house is not something I like in romance books. Feels creepy.
I would firstly just like to say a very big thank you to Enni who very kindly forwarded me an arc copy of her book, for my kindle, in return for my honest review…
I absolutely love books from this author and when i read the blurb of this one i instantly jumped at the chance to read it as it sounded so good!
Enni’s writing style is wonderful and I very quickly became totally immersed in the amazing small-town world of Cozy Creek and I loved it!
Well, what can i say about Trevor…he was such a wonderful character, full of Scottish charm and i instantly fell in love with him!
There was fantastic banter between Teresa and Trevor and i found myself giggling along all the way through! From their flirting to their sizzling chemistry, they were perfect for each other and i was all there for it!
Trevor was the most wonderful, protective hero and he fell first - which i loved!!
I absolutely loved this book and i am still thinking about it now and sure i will be for days(weeks? Months?) to come!
Falling Madly has everything that i could possibly want from a small-town romance, it had a few steamy, spicy scenes, was such an easy story to read(i just couldn’t put it down!!) it was a perfect romance for Valentine’s Day, it was emotional and sweet and heartwarming and it was definitely ‘the’ best book to cozy up with and it made my heart very happy and put a big smile on my face too - perfect!!
I loved this book so much, even more than I expected. Just like every other book I’ve read by this author, it spoke to me on a deeper level. Her writing always connects with me, and I find myself getting completely immersed in the worlds she creates.
This story introduced me to another perfect boyfriend—devoted, sincere, and falling first. He didn’t plan on getting wrapped up in his obsession, but the more he tried to resist, the more he got drawn in. Watching him navigate his feelings, even when it wasn’t easy, made me appreciate his character even more. Their bond was so intense and genuine, and I couldn’t help but fall for them both.
The emotions felt so raw and real. It wasn’t just a love story, it was a journey of trust and understanding. The way they supported each other through their struggles was beautiful to see, and by the time I reached the end, I was completely invested in their future together.
This book had me hooked from start to finish. It’s one of those stories that stays with you, making you reflect long after reading it. I'm already eagerly waiting for what this author has in store next.
Trevor is the protective he fell first and harder kind of hero we all want. His patience and the effort he puts into winning Teresa’s heart is swoon worthy. Plus, I love how both Teresa and Trevor have made mistakes in their pasts that are getting in their way of being together which makes them and this book seem more realistic and relatable. I will definitely be reading more books by this author. Thank you to Enni Amanda for the arc!
I adore the little town of Cozy Creek. Nosy neighbors, small town shenanigans and magic.
So many amazing tropes in this story - small town, hidden feelings, workplace romance and forced proximity.
Trevor is a fun, quirky, thoughtful and a very observant man..he’s also a protector. His heart is in the right place..he just is a little awkward about sharing his feelings. He has a hidden crush on Teresa but comes to her rescue.
Teresa is a hot mess express. She has been hurt (by several people), is trying to be independent and find her way, and has trouble identifying her true feelings.
This book will give you all the feels and have your emotions all over the place. It’s full of humor, love, acceptance, new beginning and of course love! A fun, sweet and fantastic read!
If you haven’t read the previous books in The Cozy Creek Collection (by various authors) - I highly recommend!
This book is the perfect valentine’s romance! Teresa is a strong female character who has kind of given up on her own happiness and is settling for the easy life, when her world is turned upside down and the only person around at the time is an old work fling who she has a complicated history with. We follow them to the romantic town of Cozy Creek where their circumstances leave them stranded together over the valentines period. This book was a pleasure to read and had some unexpected twists and turns. I especially loved Travis’s character, we all need someone who loves us that hard 🤣❤️
"✨ Because falling in love is not for the healthy and well-balanced. ✨ It’s part hormones, part madness. It defies logic."
Oh. My. Heart. Falling Madly is the kind of book that makes you want to hug it when you’re done—if only to hold onto the warm, giddy feeling it gives you for just a little longer. This story had me swooning, laughing, and clutching my chest in the best way possible.
The Story
Years ago, she had one perfect night with Trevor—the charming, ridiculously handsome Scotsman who made her believe in something real. Then he ruined it, shattering her trust and sending her running from her small-town past. Fast-forward to Valentine's Day, and she’s just caught her boyfriend cheating—humiliating enough, except Trevor happens to be there, watching it all unfold.
Before she knows it, she’s on a work trip back to Cozy Creek—the town she swore she’d never return to. And who’s there with her? Trevor. With his devastating smirk, his hopeful eyes, and his absolute determination to finally get it right.
Why I Fell Madly for This Book
Second Chance Gold: Their past isn’t just some minor misunderstanding—it’s deep, painful, and raw. Watching them work through it made every romantic moment hit harder.
Trevor is EVERYTHING: A man who fell first, fell hard, and never stopped wanting her. The regret, the yearning, the way he looks at her like she’s his whole world—ugh, my heart.
Witty, Fiery Banter: Every conversation crackles with chemistry, from their sharp-tongued fights to their flirty teasing.
Scottish Hero Perfection: A sexy accent, a heart of gold, and the kind of devotion that makes you melt.
Small-Town Shenanigans: Cozy Creek is full of quirky, nosy, hilarious side characters who add so much charm.
Valentine’s Day Magic: The timing makes everything feel even more romantic, bittersweet, and full of possibility.
Groveling Done Right: Trevor earns his second chance, and the journey there is so satisfying.
This book made me feel everything—joy, heartache, butterflies, and that delicious ache of two people who are meant to be, finally finding their way back to each other. If you love romance with humor, heart, and a hero who will move mountains to make things right, Falling Madly is an absolute must-read. I didn’t just love this book—I fell madly for it.
When we first met Trevor and Teresa in Falling Slowly, I knew I needed to read their story one day. Thankfully, Enni has given us that story in this standalone follow-up Valentine’s Day romance.
I absolutely love Trevor. He’s a bearded Scotsman who isn’t ashamed of his feelings, is very protective of those he cares about, and he has a kilt. What more could you need from a swoon-worthy main character? What I really loved about Trevor is the fact that his love for Teresa toed the line between sweet romance and something darker; his obsession was borderline crazy, but that level of love and devotion was definitely book boyfriend worthy. Trevor was a bit unhinged, but in the best way. It’s been a while since I’ve come across a male main character who was this obsessed in a contemporary, non-dark romance.
It was hard not to feel for Teresa. She went from being cheated on by someone with no devotion to her, to having the complete opposite in Trevor. It would’ve been a lot for anyone to have thrown at them, but she also had a history with Trevor that made his love for her even harder to trust. I loved the journey Teresa took herself on, learning little by little that it was okay to let someone else in. It felt real; there was no miracle fix to their relationship, no all-in love affair. Both Teresa and Trevor had to put in the work, and it made their happily-ever-after that much more enjoyable.
I loved returning to Cozy Creek with Enni. Originally contributing to a larger collection with a shared location, Enni has truly taken Cozy Creek to new heights with this newest title. The Valentine’s Day timeframe made this little town that much more homey and welcoming.
I love Enni’s ability to craft such lovable and relatable characters, and Trevor and Teresa may just be my favorite couple of hers yet. There was just something about Trevor’s obsessive/possessive nature and Teresa’s broken but healing personality that kept me turning the pages. Enni’s writing was just as easy to love as her characters and just as cozy as the book’s setting. This was a perfect Valentine’s Day romance, and I’m so glad Enni gave us Trevor and Teresa’s story.
Thank you so much to Enni Amanda for providing a review copy of this title! All opinions are my own.
I feel like I kept wanting to like this book more than I actually did.
As far as the actual writing goes, it's poppy, lively, and reads like a film. Dialogue heavy and easy to understand. Enni is an awesome writer who knows her beats and lands them well. The plot never really drags, and there's enough drama in there to have those push-and-pulls in romance. Heavy on the second chance, not much of a romcom to me by the end.
Maybe it's because the character development touches upon some heavy stuff and trauma. Or maybe it's because I wanted to shake Teresa to get a grip. Or maybe it's because I didn't really get the chemistry shared between the two main leads. Most of it seems like lust rather than love to me. And while both characters are aware of it within their swapping perspectives, it doesn't help that the progression and context to their first sex scene carries user and abuser vibes for me.
I also couldn't quite accept whether Trevor was creepy or cute. I'm sorry, while I appreciate his sincere acts of kindness that happened in the book, it's creepy when they also carry that undertone that he "deserves" Teresa in some way for doing them too. Even if it's more consensual by the end, it feels off to me somehow in a way that I can't quite pin.
Falling Madly is probably going to be a stellar Valentine's Day read for someone, and that's grand. It may not be for me, yet I enjoyed parts of this book. I appreciated that there's a balance to the story and spice in a tasteful way that ties into their character arcs. Fancy! Made me really want to try to do something special for Valentine's Day too.
See, she was supposed to spend it like most people in a relationship do: meet her boyfriend, have a romantic (as romantic as a romantic-less person like Teresa could muster) for dinner. Yet, what she found was not what she wanted to see.
Enter Trevor, the Scotchman in a shining armour. Trevor was Teresa's coworker, a man who could have a relationship with Teresa, if he hadn't fucked up her work situation so much in the past, that Teresa couldn't consider a relationship with him. As Trevor sweeps Teresa away from Valentine Day’s humiliation, he takes her into something worse: as their firm wishes to relocate office, he takes her to see an office space. The problem is, that this space is in Cozy Creek, the place she grew up and wanted desperately to avoid for reasons that had to do with her turbulent youth.
When yet another mishap takes place and makes Teresa and Trevor come in closer contact, she has to deal with both her unresolved situation with Trevor who actually loves her, and her own inability to come to terms with both her past in Cozy Creek and her character. Will they find a way to make it work?
Enni Amanda's new work was once again, a delight to read, maybe even more so now. Both Teresa and Trevor are messed up, but hear me out: imperfection is what makes for a good read. Both show a gradual character development as they come to terms with their feelings and meeting in the middle, and the situation is kinda hilarious. I love Trevor's wit, too. What I would like to see more, is further explaining on Teresa's past in Cozy Creek; but otherwise, I’m very happy with that read.
4.5 ⭐️ If I could go on a date with a book for Valentines Day it would be this one! ENNI AMANDA @enniauthor NEVER DISAPPOINTS!
Trevor & Teresa are work colleagues with the potential to be more. Especially because Trevor is in love with Teresa, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do to win her over. Unfortunately, Teresa was hurt by something Trevor did at work in the past & she’s having a hard time letting that go & letting him in. But, while checking out a new office space together in Cozy Creek, they become stranded for a few days & it might just be what they need to finally communicate & connect.
Every time I read Enni’s newest book, I say that this is my favorite one yet & here we are again! This is my favorite yet! Her books & characters only get better & better! Teresa was very relatable to me, & Trevor (who is Scottish by the way! 😉) is so sweet & swoon worthy! He is the embodiment of actions speak louder than words.
There is some nice spice in this book, but I think it’s important to note that this isn’t spice just for the sake of spice. There is real & honest love & yearning connected to it, which makes it beautiful & believable.
I always say Enni’s books are warm & cozy, with characters that you can actually relate to, who are flawed, but honest & genuinely good at heart. They are characters you really root for.
I am so sorry for not writing this review earlier this year. Even though I'm writing this late, I will always post a review for books I receive as ARCs or through Goodreads.
I adored this book—far more than I even anticipated. I believe this is the first book that I have read by Enni, and I fell in love with finishing the story. The book resonated with me on such a meaningful level.
This story gave me yet another ideal book boyfriend—loyal, heartfelt, and the one who falls first. He never meant to become so consumed by his feelings, but the harder he tried to fight them, the deeper he sank. Seeing him work through those emotions, even when it was difficult, made me admire him even more. Their connection was powerful and sincere, and I ended up loving them both.
The emotions conveyed in this book felt very real and intense. It went beyond a simple romance—it was an exploration centered on trust, personal understanding. Seeing their support for each other's growth and their perseverance through all obstacles was genuinely touching, and by the end, I was deeply invested in their happily-ever-after.
From beginning to end, this story captivated me. It is the kind of book that lingers in your thoughts long after you finish it. I’m already excited to see what this author creates next.
“Falling madly” by Enni Amanda is a second chance rom-com. This is a standalone, but it features some characters from Falling Slowly (part of Cozy Creek Collection).
I received an advance reader copy from the author. Opinions from this review are completely my own.
Main tropes are: ❤️second chance romance ❤️small town ❤️he falls first (and madly) ❤️work colleagues ❤️forced proximity ❤️Valentine’s Day ❤️groveling ❤️only one couch ❤️she’s never been in love
The main characters are Trevor and Teresa. They work together at an advertising firm. Trevor fell for her 18 months ago and waited patiently for a second chance after he betrayed her and she became distant with him. In the meantime he took care of his health and went to therapy. But also did some questionable things.
Teresa was in a relationship but she found her boyfriend kissing someone else on Valentine’s Day. Trevor takes her to Cozy Creek under the pretense of checking a possible new office location and they get stuck there overnight. Even considering they both still had feelings for each other, it felt like everything moved too fast. Teresa had some trauma from the past and just broke up with her boyfriend. I like that Trevor was very sweet, patient and caring with her. It was nice to go back to Cozy Creek and also to see a bit of Bess and Charlie’s future.
Every time I pick up an Enni Amanda book, it feels like a warm hug, and Falling Madly is no exception. If you love a cozy rom-com, you’re going to adore this one. Set in the charming fictional town of Cozy Creek, nestled in the mountains near Denver, this novel is the perfect blend of second-chance romance and forced proximity, with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting.
The story is beautifully written, with friendships that feel genuine and characters that are incredibly relatable—just normal people navigating love and life in a way that feels authentic. I especially loved the main male character, a big, soft-hearted Scottish sweetheart who completely stole my heart 💖
This book was such an easy, enjoyable read—one you can just sink into and get lost in. It’s the kind of love story that leaves you feeling all warm and happy inside.
4-4.5🌟 stars I give author Enni Amanda kudos for her ability to paint a hero with some pretty big foibles who still ended up appealing. Trevor, her Scottish import leading man, not only goofs bigtime, but he does it right on the heels of a super intimate connection with leading lady Teresa. And he apparently does it oblivious to how it affects Teresa or how she perceives his actions. I found him a bit disingenuous about his motive and, no doubt, so did Teresa. No wonder he spends so much of the story trying to atone and win her over. But he does his crawling in such a big gesture, heartfelt way!
Although I prefer the author's stories set in New Zealand, this one is romantic, with some HUGE overtures to get the couple together, and Amanda makes the Cozy Creek setting, natural beauty, some stunning home design and the Colorado mountain small-town holiday feel, come alive.
This book was definitely appropriately named, Trevor fell for Teresa so hard and was so madly in love there it was borderline creepy until you read more of the story and then it was the most romantic gestures, even if it was a little awkward.
Teresa who after a traumatizing incident in her teens had a hard time trusting anyone but herself, and wouldn’t let herself lose her independence to fall in love.
Trevor and Teresa were on their way to a relationship when a misunderstanding happens and shifts Teresa’s thoughts about him. They then spent months working with each other while Teresa “hated” him.
Can Trevor grovel enough to change Teresa’s thoughts on him? Like they always say there is a thin line between love and hate, and maybe sometimes that line is knitted!
I find I run out of superlatives when I review Enni Amanda's books. She's the most underrated author I know, who has a perfect grasp of character and prose.
When reading Falling Madly, I kept highlighting line after line because they were so beautifully written, funny, thought-provoking, or just made my heart melt.
If you like slightly rough-around-the edges men with a Scottish burr, who take love-bombing to a whole new level, then you HAVE to read this book! It's inventive, unique, swoony, hot, and just a GORGEOUS read, whether on Valentine's day or at any other time of the year.
Go read it now!
Ps - if you want to read about Bess and Charlie (side characters in this book), then go check out Falling Slowly, another FABULOUS book! It comes before Falling Madly but both books can be enjoyed as standalones.
First, let me point out that I think the cover of this book is absolutely gorgeous and my favorite of Ennis’s so far – I want to frame it on my wall so I can just stare at it whenever I need something beautiful in my life!
But then to the story itself: I loved it, too! Thank you so much Enni for the ARC! There is always that certain something in Enni Amanda’s writing that really connects with me and this book was no exception. The setting was wonderful – it was great to be back in Cozy Creek; Colorado has my heart forever! – our male lead with the Scottish accent was just such an adorable, if a little awkward, dreamboat, and Teresa was the kind of female lead you couldn’t help but root for because she deserved all the happiness in her life – whatever that might be for her.
Falling Madly is a cozy winter-y romcom – and just perfect for Valentine’s Day!
This book was so intelligently written. We have 2 main characters, Teresa and Trevor. Trevor is such a golden retriever personality, who works with Teressa. He is totally smitten with her, to an extreme level lol!!! But this part wad written so intelligently. It was as though each time Trevor disclosed things either he or Teresa or Charlie (his best friend), vocalised the level if OTT this would be! This made the book romantic but realistic and this is my fav genre. We all love gestures but sometimes we feel a bit off. Thankfully Trevor is genuine and this made him even more endearing and the majority of the book he is the perfect man. I loved the process Teresa goes through the book, her growth as a person and her processing of everything made me devour the book. This is a must read for Valentines!
This is so much more than an average 2nd chance, small town, co-workers romance. I got really emotionally invested as I read. Because I had to be the driver on a long roadtrip today, I was cursing the traffic that was keeping me from getting to the hotel so I could finish the book. Teresa & Trevor are both hilarious & likable. They end up in some really entertaining situations. When the reasons for their bumpy relationship are revealed, even I was mourning what they missed out on when things went way off the rails. Be prepared to be surprised & delighted by how much Trevor does to atone for the past. I didn’t blame Teresa for being cautious, but I sure wanted to give her a shove in the right direction a time or ten. Trevor puts a lot of other book boyfriends in the shade. Really fun ending, & love the epilogue. Thanks to the author for allowing me to read an advance copy.
This book is another wonderful visit to Cozy Creek that begins with a Valentine's Day "fail". Teresa happens upon her (so-called) boyfriend being more boy-friendly with someone else on Valentine's Day. Her workplace friend Trevor is there for the whole event and essentially whisks her way. They have a text-conversation based workplace friendship that is what's left after a near miss in the romance department, so it's not entirely a surprise that he comes to her rescue. They fetch up in Cozy Creek to view some office space, and their forced proximity (with some very amusing difficulties!) leads to new understanding and reignition of that earlier spark. And some very convincing spicy moments!
This is a well told story, and I love Ms, Amanda's writing style. She just captures me, and wonderfully brings her stories to life in my head. I can't really explain it, except to say that I am amused and engaged in equal measure, wishing I could meet the characters in real life. Cozy Creek is clearly an inspiring spot, and I feel lucky that I could "visit" and read about Trevor's and Teresa's romance.
I was given an ARC and cheerfully volunteered to write a review.
Honestly my first time reading an Enni Amanda book, and I’m now a lifelong fan.
This is a medium paced romance that has you hooked from start to finish. I’m a quick reader and finished it in just over 3 hours and enjoyed every minute of it.
I normally get a little bored with some romances as they waffle on too much about unnecessary additions, however this book didn’t have any of that. It was everything I needed in a book and more.
The rollercoaster of emotions I went through was insane, I felt like I was there with them.
I honestly wish I could read it again for the first time and will definitely be convincing anyone who listens to buy it on Valentine’s Day. Also bonus it’s dual point of view.
I was generously given an arc by the author Enni Amanda and this is my honest review.
This was my first book by Enni Amanda and I enjoyed it sooo much!
Trevor has been in love with Teresa for a while now, he said something some months back that broke her trust and confidence in him after they shared a special evening together.
Although she's forgiven him, he's still firmly in the friend-zone.
Read to learn what this Scott did while he was pining for her, how protective he is of her, how much grovel there is in his bones and how he waits patiently for her to get back on the same page as him. I loved it so much! Their chemistry was sizzling and they were just so cute together.
Highlights : Smitten Scott Pining and grovel Post O* tears Sweet HEA
I absolutely adore Enni Amanda's writing and the characters. They are always so flushed out and experience so much growth in the end.
Teresa and Trevor were so adorable together. From the moment I met them on page in Falling Slowly I thought, I'd love to see their story play out and I was not disappointed.
I am also a sucker for friends to lovers and this was done so well. We follow them on their journey and even get glimpses from the past when they were close and I ATE it up.
My personal favourite quote in this whole book: "I don't mind a dad bod, to be honest. But you look great. Solid. Amazing." One more adjective, and I was officially unhinged. "Sweet. Make me a dad and I'm sure you'll get your wish" 🥵🥵🥵
Trevor and Teresa used to flirt a lot at the office, then they met at a party and realized they wanted more, but life got in the way and their almost relationship fizzled out to nothing. Trevor however, was obsessed and in love with her and to win her back he did everything he could starting by improving himself. Almost two years later, after going back to flirting through messages, he helps her overcome a significant fall out with her then boyfriend and so their lives started to merge again. Falling Madly is an easy read, about corporate life, betrayal, bullying, finding love and second chances. I thank the author for this ARC.
Enni Amanda did it again, taking you to a charming little town as if you were really there. Cozy Creek comes to life in her story. I found Falling Madly a delightful read; I love the humor in the book, the spicy scenes, but also that it’s a story about trusting yourself and learning to trust someone else again.
Trevor is the man many women dream of — a true Scotsman (yes, with a kilt 😉) who is eager to win back Teresa’s heart after an intimate night that left Teresa feeling betrayed. But is this really the betrayal that breaks her heart? And will she dare to open herself up again?
For me, this book gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐.
The book includes 🌶️🌶️🌶️, but in just the right dose.
Enni is becoming a comfort read author for me. She can write just about anything and I'd read it because I know I'm in for a treat. The heavy and hard topics in the book will be talked about respectfully and tastefully. I know when I open a book Enni Amanda wrote I will laugh, blush, possibly be sad but always end happy. This book was no exception. Great MMC that would do anything to get the FMC to trust him after an awful mistake he made. There is forced proximity, great banter, and pining. A bit of miscommunication but nothing that will make you want to scream at the book. Highly recommend this book.
Firstly, I just wanted to say thank you for the ARC! Falling Madly is definitely a fun and easy read. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, and I did enjoy reading it while seeing where Teresa and Trevor’s relationship would lead. There were moments that seemed a bit far fetched and/or possibly creepy on Trevor’s part, but it definitely could also be taken as cute depending on what your cup of tea is, especially once he made his grand gesture. While I didn’t love some of the cliches and the creepy/cute debate I had going on internally back and forth, I enjoyed the storyline overall. Thank you again for the ARC!
This is part 2 in the Falling series, but can be easily enjoyed as a stand-alone. I truly enjoyed this second chance romance. I must say the MMC was borderline creepy and there where moments I was scared he would cross the line. But l'm glad he didn't and I was given the romance I was hoping for. I love that the writer is able to create a world in such way it's almost like you're there with the characters. The MMC's Scottish accent comes through so well, it was almost like I could hear him. I can't wait for the next one!
Thanks to Enni Amanda for giving me the opportunity to read a copy of this lovely romance, in return for my honest opinion.
