I never sleep with the same guy twice. That's my rule. Until him. What is it about him that captivates me and keeps me going back to him again and again? I don’t know, but no matter how hard I try, I can’t resist him, even though everything in me is telling me it’s a bad idea, and I’ll only end up hurt in the end.
I can’t fall for him. But he’s making that really damn hard.
Preston
I was hooked the second I saw him. The fact that I’d never been with a guy before didn’t deter me at all. But when I finally get him in my bed and it’s better than I ever imagined, he tells me he can’t see me again. Say what? Well, unfortunately for him, I don’t give up that easily, because, as they say, anything worth having, is worth sending sketchy videos over Grindr for.
Something like that. I just hope I can get him to see that he’s so much more to me than just a hookup. That everything about him is everything I want.
CW: parental neglect, mentions of the death of a sibling, mentions of cancer, on page anxiety attacks
The Hookup Situation is a 71k word MM romance featuring college mcs, bi awakening, hookups to lovers, opposites attract, found family, piercings and tattoos, spankings, bondage, dirty talk including mild degradation, and panty kink. This book features a bit more angst than the first, but does have an HEA. The Hookup Situation is the second book in the Colorado Springs University series and while the books are better enjoyed if read in order they can be read as standalones.
DNF. I loved the first book so much that I bought the second book without even reading the reviews. That was a mistake. I couldn’t stand Jackson. Even Nick J. Russo couldn’t keep me listening. Obviously other people loved it and I know Felicity Snow can write books I enjoy so I don’t think it’s fair to leave a low rating.
“Let me love you, Jackson. Let me show you that I’m not those people.” - That line would of hit if this was an emotionaly driven book.
2.75 ⭐ [round up to 3]
The Hookup Situation is one of those books where there’s a glimmer of plot, but it gets completely overshadowed by the outrageous amount of sex the characters are having. This couple is going at it every other chapter, and at some point it just felt like chaos. Not even my man Nick J. Russo—who’s usually a saving grace on audio—could make me sit through the same recycled sex scene over and over again.
The frustrating part is that there was potential here. I actually really liked the characters and their backgrounds. Jackson and Preston had all the ingredients for a solid emotional arc and a cute found-family vibe. But instead of watching their connection grow, we got mostly bedroom scenes and barely any meaningful interaction outside of that. The few cute moments they do have are over in like a page (if that), and then we’re told they fell in love off-page. I’m sorry, but I need more than a montage of back shots to believe in a love story.
It drives me nuts when books throw in a couple of rushed sweet scenes, then skip the actual emotional development and expect me to buy into this grand romance. Like… how?! Based on what?! Anyway, I found myself skimming or skipping most of the sex scenes because I was genuinely bored—which is always a bummer when I do like the characters.
So yeah… not for me, dog. But not a totally bad book either.
- College Romance - Hookup to More - Theatre Major/Pre Med Student - Opposites Attract - Found Family - Piercings & Tattoos - Nicknames - Lingerie - Kink Exploration - Hurt/Comfort - Bi-awakening
This story runs along the same timeline as the first book but it can be read as a standalone. This starts right as Rory (Book 1) goes through his breakup with boyfriend. You get to see Jackson's POV of everything that happens in the first book, and in the first book you get Rory's POV of what happens to Jackson/Preston. The side characters were great again in this book.
These two meet on an app for a hookup. Preston is full insta-lust for Jackson and jumps right into his awakening. Preston was looking for the hookup to help his confidence and experience to be able to talk to Jackson in person. He gets a lucky break when the guy that shows up for the hookup is none other than Jackson himself. Jackson on the other hand doesn't do repeats, until Preston comes along and gets under his skin. Jackson starts helping Preston experiment while Preston slowly cracks away at Jackson's built-up walls.
There's lots of laughs and sweet moments throughout the book. There's of course internal turmoil that Jackson has to deal with, which causes issues for his relationship with Preston.
Content Warnings (may contain spoilers): - Graphic sexual content between consenting adults - Explicit language - Panic attack (on-page) - Mentions of absent parents - Mild degradation during dirty talk - Spankings and bondage - Somnophilia (in epilogue)
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Let’s talk about Preston and Jackson, I love these two boys. You just dive in straight away with Preston’s bi awakening. He sees Jackson and right away concludes he might not be as straight as he always thought he was and is totally fine with that. It starts his journey, which he divided into four steps, to figure out if this is a one off. And how they finally met is part of that journey and that was some meet, let me tell you! Jackson is just such a broken person, he has a lot, money, stability, and theatre but all he craves is love. To be seen and recognized for who he is and have someone love him just like he is. He made me feel so much for him. And even when he had Preston in front of him, he couldn’t fathom that anyone would ever be that.
If anyone could ever come up with a resilient yet perfectly imperfect family who weathers every storm and accepts everyone as they are, it’s Preston’s family. I loved them instantly and I need more of them.
I read this in one sitting and was sad to see it end. I just hope this world grows with a couple more books because I love to see everyone showing up in each other’s story, becoming part of their lives and growing as a family.
4.25 stars. Preston's bi-awakening is really how it should be in a better world - no angst, no unpleasantness - just being free to try things out. His family was delightful. Jackson struggled a lot more, as his family foundation was severely lacking. I really appreciated how he eventually looked for help and therapy to help him cope. He was really a heartbreaking character at times.
I loved The Hookup Situation, Preston and Jackson both stole my heart. I loved how preston took his new feelings of attraction in his stride, no freaking out just wow this guy is gorgeous and I'm into him. I loved his determination to go after what he wanted, which just happened to be Jackson, who is determined to keep himself walled off from everybody. But even Jackson can't withstand Preston's determination or his attraction to him.
I didn't want to put this book down, and read it in 2 days, I was so caught up in these two. My heart hurt for Jackson when I found out why he had such a big wall around his heart and I was glad that Preston and his family were able to knock it down.
Felicity Snow continues to pull me in with her great characters and her ability to make me feel for them.
The Hookup Situation is the second book in the Colorado Springs University series. While the books are better enjoyed if read in order they can be read as standalones. This is the story of Preston and Jackson. I loved the characters so much. I loved Preston's family so much. I love the way Felicity Snow writes and will read anything and everything she writes. Any book that can make me laugh and cry is one I would recommend and this one did both.
Preston and Jackson’s story is a one-night stand that turns into something so much more. From the moment Preston lays eyes on Jackson, it’s insta-lust, and he dives headfirst into his awakening. And I LOVE when an MC does that! Meanwhile, Jackson is a “no repeats” kind of guy - until Preston comes along, and suddenly, he just can’t stay away. Their story kicks off right as Rory (from The Roommate Situation) goes through his breakup with Zach, and getting to see Rory and Parker through Jackson’s POV was such a treat. One of my favourite moments was the nail painting scene with Paris, Preston, and Jackson. It gave me all the happy feels. And when Jackson finally confided in Lucy during the third-act breakup, I sobbed. The spice was absolutely spicing! Felicity Snow knows how to bring the heat, and this fast-burn romance delivers. This book had the perfect balance of heart and heat - it made me laugh, cry, and swoon. This series is shaping up to be one of my favourites, and I can’t wait for more. There is a third-act breakup and a touch of angst toward the end, but trust me, it’s worth it. The basics: Dual, first-person POV Low angst Spice: 4/5 Fast burn Book 2 in the Colorado Springs University series
What to expect: Awakening Care-taking College D/s Insta-lust Library sex Lingerie MC has panic attacks Meet on an app Needy bottom Nickname: “Doll” ONS to more Pierced MC (nipple, tongue, and nose) Somnophilia (in the epilogue) Soup Spanking Tattooed MC Third-act breakup
Jackson and Preston are so stubborn (well, Jackson is) and the way they finally fall into each other was so heartwarming.
Jackson has an airport full of baggage that Preston wasn’t nothing more than to carry for him. If only Jax could allow him to.
I loved the side characters and seeing old characters again. This takes place at the same time as the Roommate Situation so we finally get to see what all the fuss was about with Jackson the whole time.
Their bedroom scenes were so steamy and it seemed like anytime they breathed they just had to have each other.
Overall I thought this was sweet and fairly low angst. 🖤
I received a complimentary copy of this book but this is my honest and voluntary review 🖤
This was sweet! Jackson was a fun MC. He's definitely a black cat. He's loving toward those he lets in and he's a little skittish (or maybe a lot). Preston is a sweet cinnamon roll golden retriever. He's so open and honest and kind. I loved their dynamic. And I loved how Preston was immediately so into Jackson. I like how Jackson couldn't stay away, even though he wanted to so badly. I loved Preston's family, too. Oh and Jackson's friends were great! As were Preston's. I thought Jackson going to Preston's volleyball game was so fun. Overall, I had a good time and would recommend this cutie.
Notes: hook up to lovers, instalust/instalove, college, goth/jock, lingerie (panties), opposites attract, bi awakening, black cat mc, golden retriever mc
Preston is the ultimate chill guy, and I'm loving his bi awaking vibe, all relaxed and easy-going, no freak outs or drama, just a sweet puppy dog personality, holey shirts, and a purple hat. And Jackson, oh Jackson, he's got some major heart walls up, but deep down, he's a total softie who's just begging to be loved, and Preston is the one to help him chip away at those walls and find his happy place and show him all the love he deserves.
This is the second book in the Colorado Springs University series. In this book, we meet Jackson, who, after a horrible childhood feel that he is unlovable. And Preston, who wants to just love on Jackson. This book has it all it’ll make you laugh. That’ll make you cry. It’ll make you mad. You won’t regret picking this book up.
The audiobook for this was phenomenal. Audio review to come
I laughed and got teary-eyed in more than one scene, sometimes at the same time.
Super sexy hookup turns into something neither of these guys ever thought they’d have, especially not together. Jackson was always told he wasn’t boyfriend material, only good for a good time and one-and-done encounters. So, he made it a self-fulfilling prophecy and only slept with someone once, until Preston. Experiencing a bi-awakening because of Jackson, Preston intrigues Jackson. Against his own better judgment, he breaks the rules for him. Just once. Never again. No, twice. Three times? Okay, maybe they’re going to keep seeing each other, but it’s just about the physical and no one else needs to know. But is that truly what they both want?
Since this is the second book of the series, even though it could be read as a standalone, I decided to read it in order! Well, in some ways it was a good decision, because I immediately became curious about Jackson, but on the other hand (with a slight exaggeration) the entire plot of the second book was ruined by the first and the blurb of this book. This is bad news for those who like surprises (like me) – I recommend to start reading this series with this second book. This novel was promised to have a higher level of angst than the first one, and I eagerly started reading it!
On the one hand, here we have Jackson, with his dysfunctional family, countless bad experiences and constant insecurity, a habit of suppressing his feelings, keeping secrets, and he is convinced that no matter what he does, it will never be good enough for anyone. And we have Preston, a real cinnamon roll, who has been crazy about Jackson from the first moment he laid his eyes on him, and the more time he spends with him, the more he falls in love with him, and without much effort, manages to make Jackson break all of his self-imposed rules.
[…] being in his arms makes me feel things I shouldn’t be feeling. Makes me want things I shouldn’t want. Because I don’t live in a fairy tale, and I don’t get the handsome prince in the end.
Preston was very sweet at the beginning, watching Jax from afar, and gathering the courage to even go and talk to him. Preston completely lacked the panic associated with the fact that the first time in his life, a man has caught his attention. He took a deep breath, acknowledged that this is it, and throwed himself headlong into the “research.” :D
I would prescribe Preston and his family to everyone!
The spicy scenes are the usual great quality we love from the author, there's no complaint on my part about that - the boys had real chemistry between them!
Anyone who likes the author's style will not be disappointed this time either. For anyone who just wants to hit the pause button on everyday life, this could be the perfect choice. If you like a book that hurts a little more than average, but at the same time hugs you like a soft blanket, you should definitely check The Hookup Situation out! (Although you might want to check out the TW list before reading.)
This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.
This is the second book in Felicity Snow’s Colorado Springs University series. I’m a big fan of the found family aspect of this story! Plus, it is nice seeing characters from the first book pop up. (This book can be read as a standalone, though).
Jackson and Preston end up hooking up so that Jackson can help Preston confirm whether or not he’s into men. Jackson has a rule about only sleeping with the same guy one time and Preston makes him want to break it. Preston is interested in seeing Jackson again and when the pair meet up again, things are just as intense and magnetic as the first time. The dirty talk is pure fire in this book!
Jackson keeps everyone at arm’s length because he is used to people (like his parents and former partners) letting him down. Preston (and his family) have had some pretty serious things happen to them. He doesn’t let that stop him from enjoying life and going after what he wants, especially when it’s someone that he wants to spend as much time with as possible.
Jackson’s parents aren’t great, but Preston’s are wonderful. (His brother, Paris, is a delight as well). The MCs had different childhoods; they are also opposites in terms of appearances. Preston is the preppy jock and Jackson is the nerdy theater kid, yet they vibe really well together. Once they become consistently physical, Jackson wants to keep it a secret, which Preston agrees to, but doesn’t understand.
Preston puts himself out there time and time again. Jackson is hesitant and takes quite a while for him to own up to his feelings for Preston. After a heart to heart with his friend, Lucy, Jackson realizes what he needs to do. While he isn’t good sharing his emotions, Jackson eventually opens up to Preston. Jackson still has some fears and insecurities that he needs to deal with, but I appreciated his willingness to focus on his mental health. Preston is a solid person to have in your corner. He just oozes goodness. I was happy when Jackson finally understood what he had in and with Preston, and allowed himself to let love win.
There’s a lot of spice in this book. The MCs complement one another well in terms of a physical connection. However, it’s even better once they cross that emotional threshold. There are a few bumps in the road that both MCs have to overcome, but they manage to achieve their HEA. The epilogue is lovely and I am happily rooting for these two!
'It’s almost like he’s afraid to let himself be happy. And it makes my heart ache, because he deserves all the happiness.'
I loved this book so much! I was drawn into it immediately and I loved both Jaxon and Preston. I could really connect with both of them and I liked how their story unfolded. I love that it was Preston- who'd always considered himself straight- who fell first. I liked that he was relatively calm about it, though a bit surprised. I loved that he wanted to explore his new attraction and understand what he was really feeling first before he would work up the courage to speak to the man who drew him in and began his awakening. I loved even more that he and Jaxon met by accident.
While Preston longed for a meaningful relationship, Jaxon only did hookups- one and done. Peeling back his walls, he was afraid of being hurt and abandoned. It broke my heart that anyone he'd gotten close to enjoyed him for intimacy and fun, as he was very attractive, but was then dumped when they moved on to someone different they could have a meaningful/long term relationship with. I wanted to hug him so bad!
'I’m so done not mattering to the people who are supposed to care more for me than anyone else.'
The clear contrast in their parents also reinforces them. While Preston and his mom are close and talk regularly, Jaxon's parents are the exact opposite. Workaholics, they pretty much ignore him for their jobs, and have no real interest in spending time with or getting to know their son. It was heartbreaking. So he worked hard at theater, where he could get attention and affection from the audience. They pissed me off so bad the way they hurt him and didn't even care!
The more they interacted, the harder Jaxon found it to resist Preston; harder to get him out of his head. Preston also got hurt during this as he kept getting pushed away by Jaxon's walls even as they chipped away. I loved how close they got as friends- like the love aspect was a slow burn even though they were still physical. It was an emotional journey and I loved every page.
I also loved the supporting characters- many of them really being a great support system even if they didn't know the whole story.
Nick J. Russo is one of my favorite narrators and he was fantastic in this book. I loved how he brought these characters to life and the emotion he put into it. I could listen to him all day.
Jackson and Preston were such a fun couple! I loved the dynamic between them from the moment they meet. Preston’s honesty scores him his dream bi awakening, and Jacksons attention grabbing aura scores him his first hea (even if he tired to deny it at all times) I rly loved what the guys had going on. A fun lay to explore and the dirtiest dirty talk of all (seriously, no one does smut like Felicity) Jackson’s mouth had me wishing I was a guy so I could experience it first hand. Preston was such a needy little slut for Jackson and I was here for it every step of the way. They had both fallen into a routine and were going strong until things started to become a bit too serious. Hearing what Jackson had to go through w his previous assholes made me so sad. Don’t even get me started on his parents. God. My heart broke for him. All he wanted was to be loved but wouldn’t let himself go through the fear of potentially getting shut down again. Preston was always so different tho. He saw Jackson for who he was. Not some random experiment or a casual hookup. He saw the theater loving guy who just wanted someone to hold him and tell him how much he loved him. Felicity wrote such a good story with such heartwarming characters. Even Jackson’s found family had people who poured their heart into their friendships. Preston held the weight on his shoulders. He went through unimaginable things, but finally found someone he could lean on when he needed support. His family was so amazing and supportive. I’m so happy Jackson has them now too. Preston and Jackson may have started as a hookup but their situation was never casual, no matter how bad Jackson wanted it to be, Preston was always there to remind him his worth. I reviewed an ARC of this book In exchange for my honest opinion:)
Colorado Springs University Book 2, Can be Read as Standalone
What starts off as a hot and heavy hookup situation ends up bringing all the emotion! With each book, I just fall in love with Felicity Snow’s writing more and more. While Preston and Jaxon are kindle melting steamy, they will also make you feel all the feelings! Buckle up, buttercups, this one is the best of both worlds!

I had an ARC of this book, but that doesn't influence my review.
Having enjoyed The Roommate Situation, I was excited to read The Hookup Situation. This one is an instalust bi-awakening, full of Lord of the Rings references (hell yeah!), and I ended up liking The Hookup Situation even more than The Roommate Situation.
It all starts when Preston spots Jackson in class and can't take his eyes off him. There's only one problem—Preston has always identified as straight. Not to worry though, because being the secure, wholesome guy he is, Preston sets off to figure out if he's bisexual. I really loved that there was no internalised homophobia and angst here, just Preston exploring things.
One thing leads to another, and Preston and Jackson hook up. The other problem? Jackson doesn't hook up with the same guy twice—no matter how much he might want to. Only, Jackson is about to learn that when it comes to one backward cap-wearing golden retriever, sometimes, there are exceptions to the rules.
This book was a fun read. It was well-paced, with a very sweet HEA. Preston was so lovable, and Jackson was such a broken boy—my favourite trope.
What I loved about it: + Consent is king + Lord of the Rings references + Mental health representation (nothing too heavy, though) + The Rocky Horror Picture Show + Two very likeable MCs + A great cast of supporting characters, each with their own personalities + Preston's family—seriously, these guys made me hurt for something I lost. + A really satisfying conclusion with ALL the feels + Jackson taking responsibility for his own healing instead of forming an unhealthy, codependent relationship with Preston
If you love instalust, high spice reads with some angst thrown in and a guaranteed HEA, I'd definitely recommend The Hookup Situation.
“I promise to guard your heart if you can be brave enough to let me have it.”
I loved listening to Nick Russo and thought he did a fabulous job narrating this story.
I have always loved unique nicknames between partners so I was extremely giddy with the fun nicknames that Jackson and Preston use for each other. I found myself giggling and laughing out loud with this spicy, sweet and fun romance and I even had some tears flowing down my cheeks :)
“I don’t ever want you to think you aren’t everything to me. If I have to reassure you ever single day for the rest of our lives I will, because you’re worth it. Just don’t leave me, and don’t ghost me. Please.”
I honestly wish everyone has a supportive and loving family and friends like Preston does and want to smack some sense into Jackson’s parents and everyone else who hurt him. I loved how Preston never gave up on Jackson even though he kept pushing him away and I loved their supportive friends and family.
“Let me Love you, Jackson. Let me show you that I’m not those people.”
I would love for Chris and Paris to get stories as well. I just wanted to give Chris a hug with wishes that someone will fall in love with him and treat him as well as he has treated the friend he loves but couldn’t have and I fell in love with everything about Paris’ personality. Colby would be fun to follow as well!
This is a hookup to more romance, featuring Preston and Jackson, and is book two of the Colorado Springs University series.
Preston spots Jackson across the room and it is insta-lust and the catalyst to his bi awakening. I’ve never seen someone dive so quickly into their bi awakening before, it was flipping amazing, he was all in. Preston then signs up to a hookup app to explore some more before he tries approaches Jackson, but his first anonymous hookup is no other than Jackson. Woo hoo!!!
The story then gets super spicy, sweet, a little angsty and a whole lot emotional. Preston is all in but doesn’t want to spook Jackson away as Jackson is trying to stay closed off from his emotions because his past has left him with so much self doubt, he doesn’t think anyone can love him. Preston and his flipping adorable family are everything Jackson needs. LOVE THEM ALL!
It was a great read and I’ve enjoyed this series so far. I’m now contemplating who is next.
Things to expect in this book are: Book 2 of series MM college romance Hookup to more Theatre major x med student Opposites attract Insta-list & Bi awakening Found family Piercings and tattoos Spicy times & dirty talk Calls him Doll Calls him Tinkerbell MC in lingerie & panty kink Kink exploration Spankings Care taking Hurt / Comfort Found family Self doubt / absent parents Accepting love HEA
Jackson and Prestons’s story was better than the first book to me. Jackson’s parents didn’t show him any love whatsoever so he grew up lonely and attention starved. Preston’s spots Jackson briefly at school and finds himself questioning his straightness by how attracted he is to him. He decides to test the waters and see if he’s really suddenly attracted to men, before he gathers the courage to ask Jackson out by signing up for Grindr and “getting some.” But of course Jackson turns out to be his Grindr hookup 🤷🏾♀️
Like I said, this book was better than the last but it still managed to irritate me at times. I understand the upbringing that Jackson had and the way his exes treated him, affected him and made him think less of himself but damn does it frustrate me to see it over and over again in a book. Insecurity is real and I get it. But how dumb is it to slut yourself out to different men but not go back for seconds for fear that they’ll just throw you out anyway after awhile? Some of these plot lines in books are so cringe and this is one of them! I had to take off a full star because this really upset me.
Anyway I think the author could redeem herself if she makes the next book about Chris (Preston’s roommate/bestie that was clearly in love with him) and Preston’s younger brother (how old was the little brother again?)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I thought Rory and River owned my heart in the world of Felicity boys. But these two have stolen my heart. I started these two on my flight back from a cruise with family and Jackson and Preston were the perfect distraction from missing the fam. I swallowed these two up in days!
I loved book one with Parker and Rory. And was so excited for this one after meeting these two in book 1. Jackson may call Preston doll but he is the doll in this one. He'd grow up lacking love and attention due to his parents focusing more on their careers than him. He's just a hurt, attention starved guy who wants someone to just want him for once, but is too scared to give his heart to anyone because he always ends up hurt. He never hooks up with the same guy twice, until Preston comes along.
Preston is the fun loving athlete who comes from a very loving and caring home. He's been the guy who's looked after his family after the loss of a brother and cancer has taken a toll on his family. He's the golden retriever type who falls head over heels for Jax. He's irresistible and his love is unwavering, but it's not easy for him to convince Jackson that he's serious about him. Everyone needs a Preston on their side !
This was SO good, but also so heartbreaking at times. Preston is this sweet, seemingly happy go lucky guy. He’s always dated, and been attracted to women, so when a man catches his eye, he starts questioning things. He’s not put off by this, but instead embraces it, and starts down a path of self discovery, which I loved! He asks his best friend questions, and starts doing some research.
When he ends up using an app to hookup and “get some experience,” Jackson is the man that arrives at his doorstep, the guy he’s been crushing on. Jackson is also extremely sweet, but carries so much baggage, he may as well open an airport. His philosophy is “hit it and quit it.” He’ll fool around, but no repeats… until Preston.
Preston is persistent, and slowly Jackson finds himself breaking all of his own rules. He’s extremely stubborn though, and I found myself wanting to throw my Kindle several times. I don’t know how many times he said he wasn’t worth it, or that Preston would tire of him. Despite Preston showing him he was more than just a hookup.
Despite all of this, I absolutely ate this book up in just a few short hours, and I loved these two together.
The first word that comes to mind with this one is WOW!! The Hookup Situation by Felicity Snow may have just become my favorite story of hers! This is the second book in the Colorado Springs University series. This is Jackson and Preston's story. Jackson is somewhat of a "player", never going back for seconds so to speak. Preston sees Jackson one day in a coffee shop and just becomes absolutely enamored with him. Preston has lived his whole life thinking he was straight, but after some tests he does on himself, realizes he isn't.
I felt so much for Jackson in this. He has parents who are never around, who never seem to show any interest in his life. They have always just thrown money at him but have never made themselves present in his life. Preston seems to have a totally different family life, with loving parents but he has also endured a lot of heartache in his life. I absolutely loved the buildup of their situation into a relationship. And holy toledo the spice!!! It's sometimes rare to see both super spice but also the "getting to know each other" stage - but Felicity did a fantastic job of both! I absolutely devoured this, I couldn't put it down!!!
What to say... Grindr brings us a heartwarming HEA, in this beautifully written story by Felicity Snow. This was an incredibly hot bi-awakening story with a beautiful message in it. If you want to explore your sexuality, just do it with no regrets.
Jackson is out and proud, firmly convinced he doesn't do repeats. Until he meets Preston, a bi-curious guy who went all to understand what he needs. There are lace panties, spanking, spicy talk, but also so much love, support and understanding. And happy tears and laughter.
Jackson struggles with himself. A lot. His parents were never really parents, he is in desperate need of attention, of someone who cares about him, who is willing to stay. But he's also afraid and full of hurt. Preston comes from a loving family who stick together despite the hardships of losing a child, a brother. He falls head over heels for Jackson and works hard to get him. He shows him he is worth of love, in between repeat hookup situations and a lot of time in bed together.
The mix of spice and seriousness makes this book so special for me. I love when books focus on both, when the hardships get a focus, but also the fun of sexual discoveries are depicted. The two are well balanced and not predominant over each other and I absolutely loved the author's effort in making both flow so effortlessly.
Definitely a book I recommend, it can be read as a standalone, but it's better enjoyed after reading the first one of the series, "The Roommate Situation"
ARC review of The Hookup Situation by Felicity Snow, book two in the Colorado Springs University series.
In this book, we meet Preston, a sweet ball of energy and Jackson, a guy that doesn't do repeats, ever.
Preston sees Jackson one day at the coffee shop and feels a spark of interest, which is something new. Deciding to see if this is a one-off, he goes to raves, watches instructional videos, and joins a dating app. On the app, he matches with another guy, and they start talking. When they agree to meet and hook up, well, both are shocked but proceed. Preston wants to keep meeting, but Jackson doesn't want to break his rules. Preston persists, and Jackson agrees.
I really enjoyed this book. My heart broke for Jackson, who has never felt good enough. He made me think about the quote from Pretty Woman where she says, "The bad stuff is easier to believe." I was so happy he finally found what he was looking for with Preston's family.
I can't wait for the next one. I hope it's Paris's book. He is super sassy, and I'm living for it.
Preston has always thought he was straight. But he spots Jackson in a cafe and is instantly intrigued and attracted to him, but doesn’t want to make a fool of himself so doesn’t approach him.
Then continues to see him around campus and decides he will figure out himself before approaching him, watching gay prn, trying out toys and signing up to a hookup app. He matches with someone who comes over - turns out it is Jackson. He of course blurts that he has been watching him, but not in a creepy way of course - which Jackson finds cute. But Jackson doesn’t do second times.
But he starts breaking all his rules where Preston is concerned and they see each other more and more - and their chemistry is so spicy and fabulous! Love how obsessed Preston is with Jackson’s pretty panties - and with being spanked by him too.. 😝🥵
Such an excellent book and a fab addition to this series!
Jackson and Preston were so sweet and dirty together. I really enjoyed their story even if I wanted to throttle Jackson every two seconds. I understood where he was coming from, the feeling of being just another hookup, just another person no one wants. However, I was so frustrated at him because Preston just wanted to love him!!
Felicity Snow is really good at writing relatable, real characters. Both Preston and Jackson fit that. I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds.
