Being the first female Formula 1 driver in the sport’s history is like being struck by lightning. Powerful, electrifying, and dangerous. Don’t get me wrong, it’s incredible. Plenty of racing fans are celebrating. Plenty more are enraged, hoping I either quit or crash.

They can hope all they want. I’ll never quit.

But there’s more than Formula 1 fans to worry about. Like shaking hands with my Team Principal for the first time and his scent turning my entire world upside down. Like the rest of his pack—including the current Formula 1 champion—matching with me too. One breath, and we belong to each other, body and soul.

In their arms I’m more than just a racer. I’m an Omega. I’m safe with them. For the first time, I can be what my designation craves instead of what my sport demands. Soft, spoiled, pleasured, and loved. Their fierce desire to win is only matched by one thing—their passion for me.

But the rookie Omega in a pack with her boss, the champion, and her crew is a PR disaster of global proportions, and I won’t be the only one with a target on my back. If the five us want to make it through the racing season? No one can ever know.

3.5 stars rounded down and another fun BR with Elizabeth (who I thought didn’t like .5 rounding down but turns out only when she thinks of doing it herself so I get a pass 😂)

I have a lot of feelings about this book. I completely understand why one person could 5 star this book and another person could rate it lower. Parts of it absolutely nail tension and descriptive elements so wonderfully, like with the Formula 1 racing scenes. And to be clear, you do not need to understand a single thing about car racing to enjoy this read, the only things I knew about the sport were from a couple of books I’d previously read that also had mains in the racing scene. In other aspects though, the story faltered sometimes or wasn’t to my personal preference, which I’ll delve into more below. I still think it deserves a chance if you’re in the mood for a reverse harem read or omegaverse that has a less typical setting. Plus, the heroine is one you'll emphatically root for.

Written in first person, multi-POV (h and Hs). No ow drama, tiny om drama from h’s ex who is curious on whether potential could still exist (before he knows about the scent matching), and all are experienced (small details on h’s experience with her ex and very little given on the Hs other than they weren’t manwhores hooking up with fans).

Some tropes/themes:
☆ FMC is a woman in a male-dominated sport
☆ Forbidden romance - boss/employee and coworkers
☆ Insta-match
☆ Reverse harem - 1 woman with 4 men (no romance btwn the men)
☆ Omegaverse - knotting, heats, mating bites, fluids, scents, dynamic driven instincts, etc.
☆ Found family
☆ Hiding their relationship
☆ Being under a microscope
☆ Inclusion vs. misogyny
☆ Kinks explored (somno, giving up control)
☆ Sabotage attempts
☆ Grief and loss

One aspect that I wish had been done differently lies in how the relationships were built. Because the h and the Hs realize upon first in-person meeting that they’re a scent match (effectively a fated mate/perfect pairing) and start getting physical almost right away, the relationship development wasn’t the primary focus. It’s a low angst relationship since they smell her, she smells them, and the group decides the h is their omega while they’re her alphas.

The guys and the h even discuss at least twice that they haven’t done some of the dating/getting to know each other parts as well as they’ve done bedroom activities. Emotional intimacy is hit upon at times and there are a couple of dating activities, alongside some intentional connection. I just felt like the relationship side didn’t resonate as well with me given how much seemed to hinge on the scent matching vs getting to know each other and really laying that foundation together.

Now, don’t get me wrong, this group spends a lot of time together. A lot of that time was spent on spiciness however. I started skimming sex scenes closer to the end honestly. As mentioned above, it’s an omegaverse with those facets coming into play, as well as some kinks. There’s also DP and DVP. Some one-on-one time but also multiple group scenes too.

Regarding the guys, they’re wonderful to the h and they have intriguing jobs. I thought they needed some more fleshing out still. Two of the guys had personalities that kind of blended together for me, despite their roles and backgrounds being distinctly different (well what we know of the background of one of them anyway). Which leads into a personal preference of mine. I like my characters to have depth in where they came from and how they got to the present time/place. I don’t always get the depth I crave, however in this case, I felt like it could have easily been worked in more than what we get. Esp given the number of steamy scenes and some of the repetition about how the h had to act a certain way or the crappy family that one of the guys had. Only one H had a detailed background from what I recall.

In contrast, the h’s background was wonderfully built. I loved the friendship she had with her trainer, the sense of how she fought to be a strong driver in Formula 2, and the relationship she had with her grandfather after she lost her parents. It was clearly laid out what had shaped the h, what motivations were driving her, and her challenges. She was a great main character in that way and her grandfather’s nickname for her was precious. I also appreciated how she was shown to fight for her place in her sport, while being cognizant of the potential pitfalls that awaited her.

The forbidden romance injected some of its own tension early on, wondering when it would all come to light. I had hoped it would be unveiled in a certain way and even though it didn’t occur the way I’d hoped, it wasn’t angsty like I worried might happen either. Then it somewhat turned into a Taylor Swift/Travis Kelce situation with the press and some fans hanging on any sightings or nugget of info. The h and Hs weren’t asking for this attention but they also did some things that fed into it too.

Aside from the characters themselves, I also felt the pacing was off, probably because this is a long book and I’m notorious for having to put long books down and take frequent breaks. The racing scenes were always on point though. The incorporation of the sabotage attempts and the external conflicts were so spread out for much of the book that the tension didn’t build as well for me until the final act when everything was coming to a head.

For that climax, it was intense where it should have been and all the strings come together to form a full picture. Similar to another racing-focused book I read recently, one scene specifically hit the feels hard and had gravity to the moment. My heart was definitely beating out of my chest, even if I knew there wasn’t truly a danger to the characters. The ending is HEA with all the characters safe, in love, mated, and the dangers exposed and addressed. There’s an epilogue that’s a year later that has a special moment. I enjoyed this and I do like how the author writes devoted omegaverse heroes and heroines who can be soft and tough. I think my brain focused on some of what I wanted more of during my reading to the point where it brought down my overall engagement.

I came for the romance. I stayed because suddenly I was on the edge of my seat like I was watching an actual Grand Prix. Hello?? Since when am I an F1 girlie?? 🏎️

🏁 The Set-Up

Vanessa Lennon has spent her whole life chasing a dream that wasn’t built for someone like her — a seat in Formula 1. As the granddaughter of a racing legend and the sport’s first female driver, she knows every move will be judged and every mistake magnified.

Signing with Paragon Racing, led by team principal Grayson, should’ve been her big break… until they meet and realize they’re scent-matches. 🤭

With the media already skeptical of a woman on the grid, they agree to keep their bond a secret — no matter how hard that gets.

Between the pressure to prove herself and the constant public scrutiny, Vanessa’s season is about to test her on and off the track.

💜 Characters

Vanessa is the kind of heroine who refuses to break, no matter how many times the world tries to knock her down. She’s fierce, driven, and carefully guarded — because she has to be. But once you get past that armor? She’s all heart.

As an Omega in F1, control has become her greatest defense. The moment she shows softness, the world calls it weakness. What makes her arc so satisfying is watching her find a pack that lets her be all of it: powerful and vulnerable, feminine and fierce. They never try to “fix” her; they make space for her to lead, to fight, to win — while also showing her it’s okay to lean on them.

Grayson, Beck, Elias, and River — all so different, yet somehow fitting around Vanessa. Each one adds something unique:

☆ Grayson: calm, commanding team principal
☆ Beck: dirty-mouthed engineer who always knows what to say
☆ Elias: grounded beta mechanic with noble roots
☆ River: rival on the track — competitive and impossibly magnetic

Together, they built a relationship grounded in respect, communication, and emotional honesty. I loved all of them, but I especially adored River and Elias. 🫶

And then there’s Grandpa Vance — who absolutely wrecked me. 🥹 Their bond is one of my favorite relationships in the book. It felt so genuine: equal parts pride, guidance, and unconditional love. The way he calls her ‘Sticky,’ the tenderness in every word — I was in tears.

🏎️ My Thoughts

I’m new to the F1 world, so I can’t vouch for accuracy, but it felt believable. The media snippets before each chapter were a brilliant touch — they made it feel like following a real race weekend.

There’s even a touch of mystery — the ‘who’ is easy to guess, but the ‘how’ kept me turning pages. Between the racing tension, the sexism Vanessa faces, and all the behind-the-scenes drama, I was fully invested.

The audiobook was great, and the accents added a nice layer (though the female narrator’s voice for Grayson was… rough 😅).

💎 Final Take

Some readers found it long, but honestly? The length worked for me. It gave the racing and the relationships room to breathe. (If anything, I’d trim a couple of spicy scenes rather than the story itself — and trust me, I never thought I’d say that)

What stuck with me most was its heart — watching a woman earn respect in a male-dominated sport made this one of the most satisfying stories I’ve read in a while.

If you’re curious but new to the genre:

💫First F1 romance? Super easy to follow. The author even included a glossary, a beginner’s guide, and team logos at the end (adorable and helpful).
💫 First Omegaverse? Maybe skim a quick overview. I wasn’t totally new to it, but if this had been my first, I might’ve been a little lost. 😅

Overall, Just Drive delivers the rush of competition, the pull of pack dynamics, and a heroine you can’t help but root for.

I've been on a Formula 1 kick so a Formula 1 omegaverse with a strong female lead, yes please. Vanessa is the first ever female Formula 1 driver and on top of that she's also an Omega. Little did she know joining Formula 1 would lead her to her scent matched pack of the sweetest and most caring guys. Of course, some of the Formula 1 boys aren't very welcoming to her and will do just about everything to end her time in Formula 1. Venessa is such a strong female lead, which is so different from the typically Omega, and I loved that about her. She wasn't going to let anyone mess with her. Their newly completed pack balance each other out perfectly and really complete their little family. Devyn really pulled at my heart strings with this one, some tears were definitely shed, but I really enjoyed this story and the pack's HEA.

Yay for a buddy read with RL.

I know nothing about racing. The author did a great job at giving me the impressions that she knows something. Her descriptions were fire! I was constantly so nervous in every single race I had to live through.

This is a romance, but the most emotional relationship in this was the one between Vanessa and her grandpa. Seriously, I cried so hard! I loved their relationship and how he called her Sticky... so cute!

There's a bit of a mystery here because someone has it out for Vanessa as the first female F1 driver and her cars keep getting sabotaged. It's not a strong storyline because there are only a few incidents that get mentioned, but it was enjoyable even if the villain was pretty predictable.

I was a little concerned about the "forbidden romance" part of this book because they try to keep their relationship a secret. However, it didn't really cause any drama.

The heroine is so good! In her first season, she rocks the house. Didn't feel super realistic, however, I could see that anybody who was in her position would have to be pretty freaking amazing.

In a reverse harem with four male partners, authors can have a hard time with making the men different enough to help the reader tell them apart. And, unfortunately, this book has four handsome men who seem emotionally mature and are ready to fall in love with our heroine right away. The men are all really similar.

I prefer a romance where there is more relationship development. This book has a LOT of sex. And very little relationship development.

These five people basically sniff each other and fall in love. There are no impediments to them having SO MUCH sexy time with each other all the time.

I don't really have a good idea of any of the characters. We probably get the best depth from the villain and the grandpa. Everyone else is very two dimensional.

At the same time, I had fun commenting on the book with my buddy!

This was really hot and smutty.
I also really enjoyed the racing parts, surprisingly. That was a new one for me.
I just think it could’ve benefited from either, being a little shorter, or having more dramatic problems. 🤷🏻‍♀️
The problems in the book were life threatening or just sad, don’t get me wrong, but they were all handled pretty quickly and mostly didn’t actually affect much overall.
I don’t know.
I just feel like it was very long for what we actually ended up getting.
The smut took up most of the book, with the racing coming in second. Then all the other stuff competed for third. Which is not a bad thing, at all. I love me some good smut.
But the book was like 600 pages and even though we got some really good date night scenes, I just wanted a couple more.
Or for the outside problems to be a bigger part of the story, like I said. I think even if we just got one or the other I’d feel like it was more balanced.
Still really enjoyed reading it, though.

I’m rambling now, so I’ll cut myself off here and hope it’s coherent ✨enough✨. lol

I dithered on this one a bit - it's been sitting on my kindle for weeks - because I know zip about racing and Formula 1, so I wasn't sure if I'd like it. But it knocked my socks off.

There's a lot going on in this book. You've got a woman omega who is the first woman signed to race Formula 1 (not the first omega, we're told there have been a handful of male omega racers), dealing with the absolutely disgusting misogyny of breaking that ground. The world is torn about her - for all the men bitching unfairly (unfairly, I say, because she points out in this book that she beat the ass of most of the other racers in the lower tier Formula 2 racing, but they were picked up by F1 teams years before she was because they have a penis), scores of women start following the sport. Of course, the entitled douches in the boys' club can't have that, so Nessa has to deal with not just hostility, but actual sabotage.

Then, at the press event announcing her hire, which is the first time she's meeting the team personnel in person (they did all the negotiating via video, to avoid her hire leaking before their announcement), she and the team manager discover they are scent matches (along with the rest of Grayson, the manager's, pack). This complicates the situation further, because of course all the douches are adamant that she was only hired because she was fucking him. Never mind that she has a better F2 record than the other drivers, clearly she had to fuck her way to the top. It's pretty gross, but it's also utterly realistic, shit we've seen play out again and again in the real world.

But at the core of it, you have a really sweet omegaverse story where this woman who has had to stomp down every trace of softness and femininity to be taken seriously in the sport she loves gets to embrace the other half of herself. The guys are wonderful, and I just found the whole thing really delightful. I really resonated with Nessa, because as a woman working in a male-dominated industry, I'm constantly having to walk a similar tightrope.

I seriously enjoyed it, and I expect I'll reread this one.

Dnf 18% too much “little one” (my personal pet peeve, this woman is a grown adult and race car driver!) and it felt wrapped up already in first few hours, they were scent matches and she moved right in.

Audio:
3 stars for Celia Stone, her voice for Grayson was bad, didn’t love that accent
3 stars for Lance Greenfield, his voice for Vanessa wasn’t great.

I do wish that this would have been a duet narration.

Book: 3.5 stars

I was looking forward to reading this book but it felt like something was missing. And that is saying something because this book is over 600 pages! I think I wanted more racing action, but for an omegaverse RH about F1 it was addictive. I couldn’t put it down.

Overall it was worth the read, but wanted more racing/track action! If you like RH and F1 then this would be worth picking up!

3-3.5/5 ⭐️

I loved this idea of omega who had to be strong and independent and then having to learn to let go lean into her soft instincts and to let herself be taken care of. Soooo connected with that and I enjoyed Vanessa as a character from the start.

All the guys were so sweet. I liked Elias from the start, he had the most kind of personality and interesting story to me. Grey was fun being the boss and also his more domineering ways in the bedroom. I liked Beck’s quiet but strong nature. River was..there.

Later in the book it gets a bit emotional but then I also could kind of see exactly what was being lined up and it felt a little like a contrived heart string moment so it didn’t hit as much as I wanted it to.

That said, I enjoyed this read and the characters. Lots of warm, fuzzies - especially I think for Elias and Vanessa together - and just fun sinking into this world for a bit.

Recommend if you like the idea of an F1 centered book and want a pleasant omegaverse read.

Just like a nail-biting Grand Prix, Just Drive by Devyn Sinclair had me white-knuckling the wheel (well, my Kindle), heart racing, and screaming internally through every lap—er, chapter. This book was long, yes, but every page delivered turbocharged feels. I laughed, I cried, I kicked my feet like a fangirl watching qualifying—and I loved every second of it.

The chemistry was hot enough to melt tires at 300 km/h. The media snippets at the start of each chapter were genius. This book balanced throttle-pounding tension with quiet, intimate pit stops of love, trust, and healing. Watching Vanessa finally find a pack that lets her be both a high-octane badass and a soft, cherished Omega was perfect. And don’t even get me started on the high octane spice. Devyn Sinclair didn’t just bring the heat—she brought the whole damn fire marshal.

Just Drive had me revving with joy, tearing up in the paddock, and cheering louder than a Ferrari fan at Monza (Team LH♥️). If you’re looking for empowering female leads, found family feels, and a love story that handles like a dream, this is your book.

Swoony Lines:

“”Hey, baby.” My stomach flipped. Two words shouldn’t make me feel like I was standing in a tornado of butterflies.”

A great Formula 1 insta-lovey why choose OMV with a female driver, fated mates, and everything that comes with all of that.

This book is loooong, and while my attention span usually wouldn't hold these days, I actually enjoyed most of it and easily finished within a day. The FMC had haters, supporters, friends, a family legacy in the industry, etc. All of it was here. And the good natured rivalry she had with one of her alphas who was a racer for another team was adorable! I loved seeing their mutual support AND competitiveness. And he had a long standing crush on her before he even knew they were scent matches? *Sighhh*

“River, I know you’re not listening, but you’ll hear it later. This one’s for you, baby.”

There's a lotttt of somno content in this book if that's what you like. She's a sleepy content little omega and she loves for them to take advantage of that. This has to be one of the highest somno content books I've come across. Love that. Aside from that, there's a lot of smut too. I skipped the last couple of scenes though because this is also a fast burn, so 600+ pages of it and having started early on, and I was over it by then lol.

However, the majority of the book focuses on her rookie year as the first female F1 driver in the industry. There's backslash, support, sabotage, and her ups and downs as she works to prove herself while also allowing herself to just be an omega with her alphas. They're all in the industry too, so it's a fine line they walk between the two areas of their lives. I really liked watching it all play out, and I loved seeing the FMC show what she could do.

This is the rare exception of a romance book that I didn't finish for the romance. They were all in the moment they realized they were scent matches, and none of them had any hesitations. It was like I was reading a sequel where they had gotten together in book 1 and now they had to deal with outside influences and situations that would only make them stronger. I don't particularly mind that because I haven't read any other Formula 1 romances, so it was all new to me. But if you're used to this? Maybe it won't be as interesting.

Honestly by the end, I was proud of all of them, and felt like a proud parent watching her kids take on the world and come out on top. Not necessarily what I expected when I started the book, but I'll take it.

Minus 1 star for the insta-lovey approach, and for feeling like we understood less about one of the alphas than the others. It was there, but two of the others had more backstory, and one always seemed to be present, while the quiet one faded into the background sometimes.

Thank you to the author for the ARC.

I really enjoyed this. It’s just like Devyn’s other omegaverse books with scent matches, why choose, amazing men, an incredible fmc, heats, and of course an incredibly satisfying everyone gets what they deserve ending.

I really love F1 and I think this did a great job with both the F1 and the romance. I will admit when I first heard F1 omegaverse I was worried that it might be awful. But it really worked. It’s probably the best F1 romance I’ve read. A lot of others miss either the F1 or romance.

I also loved the social media messages but I really hate that they are accurate (seriously some F1 fans truely suck but some are fantastic). Them and the news stories really added to the book and the overall F1 feeling in it.

Overall, highly recommend!!!

4 ⭐️ I actually really enjoyed this one! A female F1 driver as the FMC? Absolute queen behavior, and I was so here for it. She’s out there tearing up the track and making all the men cry - love that for her. And the fact that one of her pack mates is on a rival team? Oh, the drama. The tension. I was living for it.

This book had the perfect mix of speed, spice, and emotional chaos. The story kept me hooked, the racing scenes were intense, and the romance? Chef’s kiss.

I really enjoyed this one. The villain was a bit obvious, but it was a nice change that they weren't physically menacing towards the FMC, being more devious and sneaky. It did drag a bit at the end, and I did skim a bit during the spicy scenes t the end. Other than that, this was fun!

I think as a F1 FAN, I struggled a bit with this one, and not for the reasons you may think.

On paper it sounds like something right up my alley, i love F1,I love omegaverse and fated mates. I should love this?!

On the other hand, I know the current rumblings in F1 about the F1 movie coming out now, which has a workplace romance in it that highly discussed because it is so bad for the already objectified women in the sport, women who are fighting so hard to be viewed as equal and to get a chance to prove themselves both on track and in garages, managment etc, plus the se*g*sual harassments claims againts a team principal last year.

So this book coming out NOW, with a female racer trying to make a name for herself, but also her getting together with her team principal, race engineer, mechanic, and competitor… just as this discussion has been going around the last few weeks. It is hard to not see how harmful that is?
And i know, we can say, «oh but its normal in other sports (romances)», but that doesnt mean it isnt harmful in those sports either? For me its more of a timing issue, cause I have read F1 romances before, and not thought about it, but right now it is hard for me to not think about it when I have heard people working in F1 talk about their experiences and thoughts about this.

I am still going to give it 4 stars.
I know it is meant as light hearted entertainment, it is an omegaverse so its an alternate universe. It was a good plot and storyline, and it did bring up a lot of the issues women trying to break into the sport faces, even with a famous name behind them. I have just lost my grandfather, so i was bawling several times throughout it. And the sports aspects were great and pretty accurate.

as someone who is not very familiar with the sport of Formula 1. this book did an amazing job at convincing me to be a fan.

My favorite part was that at the beginning of every chapter was a news article talking about the sport/characters

this book follows Vanessa and her Pack. she is new to Formula 1 and was just signed when she meets the principal Grayson and thats when she realizes he's her scent match. thats when he texts his pack saying that she's their scent match

this book was absolutely amazing it had me giggling, crying and full on sweating from the spice.

if you are looking for an absolutely sweet and SPICY book that will have you sweating like a sinner in church this is the book for you.

I also loved that at the end of the book the author put a lot of information about the sport to help you fully understand the sport.

this book was very well written and honestly the author needs a round of applause 🙌

10/10 recommend

Happy first race week! I started this book between the first qualifying session and the first race of the season, and the timing couldn’t’ve been better. I love omegaverse books, I love Devyn Sinclair’s writing, I love formula 1 - this book is right up my alley.

Say it with me: this is a book review, not an essay on the still rampant albeit more subtle sexism in what is supposed to be the pinnacle of motorsport. I’ll try to tome myself in.

Vanessa is a female omega and the first signed F1 driver. This is met with a lot of scepticism, doubt and full out sexism, because the sport still hasn’t outgrown that. It was done so well that I got angry in the same way I do when a woman is announced in a key position and the media runs with it again. When she meets her team principal face to face, they find out she and his pack are scent matches - but of course that can’t be known, because of the way women still get looked down on in formula one racing. (Am I making this too loaded? It’s been a huge frustration of mine ever since I started watching the sport as a child and it seems to only get worse.)

Grayson is the team principal who signed Vanessa, all over videocall and under wraps to keep the surprise. The rest of the pack is built up of Beck, race engineer and most seductive voice award-winner, beta Elias who is Brittanian nobility but prefers to go through life as an amazing mechanic, and River, who is a two-time world champion - but drives for another team.

I loved the way every chapter started with a news article. I loved how realistic it felt and how it was written with obvious F1 knowledge. The alphas and beta were a rather new pack so they all worked very hard to work together, which was nice to read about. The concurrence was also tensive, big plus. Add to that the suspense and this entire book has you sucked in on the edge of your seat. The events and emotions were portrayed so well I cried several times (don’t read during lunch, kids). I genuinely think this is the hottest, sexiest pack Devyn has ever written with actual hold-your-breath smut scenes and amazing chemistry. I loved pack De Clare!

4.5⭐️ rounded up. As an F1 girlie, I’m so happy this book exists and I think Sinclair did a great job making it feel accessible to readers who may not be familiar. And as always, the author did a great job with the guys and making them feel distinct, although I would have loved a little more background on some of them. Sinclair is one of my go-to authors for RH and I’m glad this book is no exception

omg I loved all the tropes in this book! The fact that it has omegaverse, why choose, f1, and the FMC is a driver!!!! I love the FMC can compete against the MMC which brings me to my next point!

As someone who loves to occasionally watch the sport in real life, I wish the book focused more on the racing aspect. I felt like the time jumps often skipped the middle of the races and that’s what I wanted to read about! The competitiveness and the little radio calls would’ve made the book so much better!

And I know it’s an omegaverse book so that already comes with spice but if there was just more plot it would’ve helped to balance it out! So like I was saying like more details about the race or little cute moments between them in the paddock things like that!

DNF at 34%

My first DNF of 2025 and that one hurts because I love the author and was looking forward to it. I tried, I really did, but after skimming way too much, I'm calling it quits.

The romance feels rushed. The book is 600+ pages, but we get insta-love/lust and them pretty much living together within the first 200 pages, which is fine, except there's another 400 pages to go... The Formula 1 is a fun concept, but not enough to keep my interest.

Also, I found my least favorite nickname: "Little one"

I loved this book! Nessa is such a badass. I also know next to nothing about Formula 1, but Devyn never brought me out of the story due to my limited knowledge. I was able to keep up with all the terminology easily. Devyn also links to a couple of YouTube videos at the beginning, and has an FAQ and glossary at the end about F1 to help readers who might not be familiar.

I loved the theme of duality in this book. The complexities of relationships and public/private personas was well written and thought provoking.

I really hope we get to see more of this world from Devyn! Also, I really enjoyed the names of the countries in the book.

Darn it, Grandpa! 😭😭🩵💜

Wow, I was not expecting to get invested and fall as hard as I did for this book given that I know very little about F1, but Devyn blew me away.

I loved that Vanessa was a determined, headstrong, successful Omega in a male-dominated industry, but when when she found her Pack they all worked together to allow her to show/express her tender/softer Omega side...while respecting and maintaining her position in F1. Swoon!

The steam was, of course, steamin'! And there were some k!nks tossed in that I don't read often, but enjoyed how they were written.

The F1 drama keeped me super invested, even though I guessed the "bad guy" early on, the how, why, etc. Still came as a surprise.

But it was Grandpa Vance that really got me. It's a great story and a keeper for me when I cry while reading. And he got me 3x.

Loved this book so much, I'm glad I found Devyn's books and I can't wait to read whatever she has for us next.

DNF at 30%. Good bones but it was a little hard to follow and everything was wrapped up in 120 pages. No need to be 630 pages. Super bummed because the premise is amazing.

“I hoped she would be my lover. Because it took about one minute for her to be my everything.”

✔️MFMMM sweet omegaverse why choose romance
✔️F1 romance
✔️secret pack & scent matched mates
✔️rival drivers in the pack (FMC and one of the MMCs)
✔️female omega, three male alphas, one male beta
✔️no breakup

This contemporary omegaverse novel is lower angst and all of the main conflict comes from outside of the pack, which I personally really like. Though there is some tension from having two drivers from rival teams in the pack and needing to keep the fact the FMC is in their pack/their scent match a secret, the communication between pack members is top notch and they prove over and over again that they can and will get through anything if they stick together.

Though this is a romance and that theme takes precedence, several other major themes are explored, including misogyny in motorsports and the workplace, grief, and how harmful social media commentary can be. Nessa (Vanessa, omega) is a badass and the first female driver in F1 history. Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about Formula 1, everything is explained thoroughly, there is lots of time at the track on page, and if you need additional explanations there is a guide in the back of the book. Three of Nessa’s mates work for her team (one is technically her boss) and the fourth is a driver for another team. The men are in a pack before they meet her, and when they meet in person for the first time realize she is their scent match. I love that there was no question that they all wanted to be together, they didn’t want to fight the scent match, and they were in agreement that they needed to keep it private as long as possible because the media and other drivers and employees were very split about having a female driver on the grid.

I appreciate that the MMCs continuously remind the FMC that it is okay to be two things at once — Nessa is an amazing driver and she is always in control and professional, but in her safe space with her pack she can let her omega take over and be soft and let go. Throughout the course of the story (which takes place over an entire racing season, a little less than a year) we see Nessa grow exponentially emotionally. She is a FMC that I wanted to root for from the start and it was so fun watching her growth over the course of the story. Overall this is a solid omegaverse read, the spice is spicy and well written and the pack dynamics are solid.

I picked up Just Drive: A Formula 1 Omegaverse by Devyn Sinclair expecting fast cars and faster feelings—and boy, did it deliver. I was just casually vibing through the chapters when BAM! There it was. MY username, casually chilling in the book like it belonged there. Cue the double-take, the gasp, the frantic text to my group chat: “I’M IN A BOOK, Y’ALL.” I had completely forgotten I entered that contest, but Devyn sure didn’t. She gave me the literary equivalent of a surprise party.

As always, Devyn Sinclair never misses. The spice? Chef's kiss. The drama? Delicious. The men? FOUR swoony MMCs, each crafted to make you question your standards and your sanity. But River? Oh, River. The way he loves Vanessa made me consider tattooing his name on my heart (or at least my ankle).
The only reason this wasn’t a perfect ten for me? The racing. I get the thrill, the speed, the whole "vroom vroom" vibe—but personally, I was more interested in heart rates than lap times. After a while, I found myself thinking, “Okay, but can we hit the brakes on the track talk and steer this story back to the make-outs?” Just me?
If Devyn Sinclair writes it, I’m reading it—preferably with a fan and a fire extinguisher on standby.
