Cindy Kirk’s captivating new novel, The Letter Box, is now available for preorder!
The Letter Box is the latest release in the highly acclaimed series set in GraceTown, a community known for unexplainable happenings.
For decades, whispers have swirled around the old letter box tucked away in the heart of town. Some call it enchanted, claiming it holds the power to weave an unbreakable bond between kindred spirits. Others laugh it off as a charming tale—nothing more than a fanciful rumor.
Landry Fisher has never been one to chase fairy tales. But standing at a crossroads in her life—with her career in limbo and her heart aching for clarity—she’s willing to try anything. Desperation leads her to the letter box, its weathered surface humming with promises of hope.
Her friend once tried and failed. A letter sent but never answered. Still, Landry can't shake the feeling that this time will be different.
What she doesn’t realize is that when her words find their way to a kindred soul, her life—and the life of the stranger who answers—will be forever changed.
“When A Kindred Spirit responds to a mysterious letter from A Heart Unheard, the ripple effects will touch places neither of them ever thought possible.”
Will the magic of the letterbox finally reveal its secrets? Or will Landry’s leap of faith leave her grasping for answers that may never come?

Cindy launched her Good Hope series with a bang. Christmas in Good Hope hit #1 on the Amazon bestseller list for both Contemporary Romance and Women's Fiction.
A lifelong Nebraska resident, Cindy started writing after taking a class at a local community college. An incurable romantic, Cindy loves seeing her characters grow and learn from their mistakes and, in the process, achieve a happy ending.
Someone once told Cindy that to know a writer you just have to read what she's written; she hopes that once you read her books you can tell she is an eternal optimist, one who truly believes in the power of love. She invites you to kick off your shoes, pick up one of her books, and get to know her.
Cindy and her high school sweetheart husband live on an acreage with their two dogs.
The Letter Box is the seventh in the GraceTown series but can be read as a stand alone story, however I suggest reading the previous stories for secondary character backgrounds as well as for the pure entertainment of the series. Landry Fisher has a business degree and a steady boyfriend but neither is bringing her happiness. She is loving working at the City Hall Coffee Company which is a cafe and the hours give her time to write her book while she dreams of traveling one day. When her boyfriend and parents begin pressuring her to settle down, she writes a letter and puts it in the Letter Box that is reputed to connect you with a kindred spirit. Hoping but not really believing, she is surprised when her letter is answered and giving her the encouragement to follow her dreams and stand up for herself. Peter Elliott is a visiting professor who is temporarily teaching at Collister College while doing research on Caroline Charles who was a famous architect who designed a couple of buildings in GraceTown and who lost her fiance when his plane was shot down in WWII. When a mysterious pink envelope appears in his cubby at work, he is intrigued and inspired to answer based on his own past issues of not living up to family expectations. As their correspondence continues, they become more attracted to each other which only enhances the feelings when they finally meet. This is a wonderfully magical story of how the written word can bring two hearts together at just the right time. The characters are truly endearing and bring to life the story being told.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
A new addition to the Grace Town series where this town is known for unexplained events that pop up.
The book Letter Box introduces two new main characters, Landry and Peter, and this is truly their story. Landry is a college educated female who grew up in Grace Town. Despite her parents wanting her to get a respectable job in which she will be there for years; Landry is looking for more. She has made the decision to work at a coffee shop where she has more flexibility in her ability to work on a book that she has dreams of writing. Landry’s parents do not agree with her dreams or that there is more out there for her to see and that traveling is something you earn when you gain a vacation from a job. Chad, her current boyfriend at the start of the book feels the same way as her parents do except, he wants to add marriage to her equation.
Peter is a visiting Professor at the college that is on a contract as he works on tracking the life and love story of Caroline Charles who had been a well-known Architect there in Grace Town whose fiancé was away fighting during WWII. Caroline, who wrote to her beloved most days continued to write her letters even when she no longer heard from him and it was thought that he had been killed. All letters before and after went into a specific Letter Box which had recently been found and put into the coffee shop (as a decoration and not to be used). It so happened to be the shop that Landry worked at, and Peter visited many times a week during breaks from classes. Peter, being a customer of the coffee shop that Landry worked at, gave them the opportunity to get to know each other as friends (as they were both dating others). They would talk about their dreams and ambitions.
Landry, being a long-term resident of Grace Town, knew about how magical and unexplainable things can take place in the town and she believes this with the letter box. She starts writing letters and putting out her hopes and dreams on paper. As time goes by and she realizes that her letters are disappearing, she then starts getting letters back to her in the same Letter Box with words of encouragement coming back to her.
The encouragement that she was getting from the stranger’s letters gave her what she needed to break things off with Chad which was her first step in realizing her dreams can be reality.
Questions to be answered as the book goes on is who is the other letter writer? Can that person make a difference in Landry’s dreams and future? Will another magical event take place in Grace Town? This is a book that you will want the story to go on and on and has such a good ending.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
This is the latest installment in the Grace Town series, a captivating collection of books that weave enchanting tales and explore the mystical happenings in the charming town of Grace Town, Maryland. While this book can be enjoyed as a standalone, readers who delve into the previous installments will gain a deeper appreciation for the rich tapestry of characters and the town’s unique atmosphere.
Grace Town, a place where the ordinary intertwines with the extraordinary, is home to individuals whose lives are forever altered by the extraordinary. In this book, Landry Fisher finds herself living a life that others desire, rather than the one she yearns for. Despite graduating with a business degree, she continues to work as a college barista, a job that offers her the flexibility to pursue her passion for writing.
Landry’s life takes an unexpected turn when her boss, a local historian, brings in a letter box that once belonged to the renowned local architect, Caroline Charles. Caroline, a woman who designed the local Post Office and City Hall while waiting for her fiancé to return from World War II, left behind this letter box as a symbol of her enduring love. Even though her letters were returned stamped, “MIA,” Caroline never lost hope, and it was whispered that placing a letter in this letter box would lead one to their true love.
Peter Elliot, a visiting professor studying Caroline Charles, becomes a regular at the cafe where Landry works. Their paths cross, and they develop a friendly rapport, intrigued by the legend surrounding the letter box. When Landry reaches her breaking point with her parents and boyfriend, she impulsively writes a letter and places it in the letter box. To her surprise, the letter finds its way to Peter’s cubby at work, leaving him bewildered by its origin and destination.
Curious about the letter, Peter responds and returns it to his cubby, hoping to uncover its secrets. This book draws parallels to classic romantic comedies like The Lake House and You’ve Got Mail, as it follows the story of two individuals who connect through a mysterious portal, sharing their thoughts and feelings through the written word.
The Grace Town series is a delightful collection of books that offer readers a captivating escape into a world of magic and wonder. This latest installment is a must-read for fans of the series, adding another layer of enchantment to the already captivating narrative.
I received a copy of this book from the author for my honest opinion.
In our 7th trip to GraceTown to meet Landry the local barista. Landry has big dreams, she sees a world outside of GraceTown. While she loves her parents and sees them often, they want her to get a real job, they want her to settle down. Landry had a nice boyfriend. He seems to really love her, but he just like her parents don't understand she wants to see the world. Landry wants to be a writer, she works at the coffee shop to have the flexibility she needs. Landry's boss who is a huge historian and buys a Letter box from Caroline Charles' house and puts it in the coffee shop. The history behind the letter box goes that if you put a letter in the box it will connect you to your true love. Landry decides she needs a change and writes a letter with all her thoughts and feelings and put it's in the box. The letter disappears and she gets a reply. Peter is a customer at the shop, but also a visiting professor who specializing in Caroline Charles. Peter likes GraceTown. He finds that he could make this town his home, but he still needs to keep going to finish his work on Caroline Charles. He is hoping his next stop will be in France. One day Peter finds a letter in his college mail cubby. He reads the letter and finds himself compelled to respond, but how? The letter came from no where and has no name or address. Peter's colleague (who you might remember from the Love Token) convinces him to trust in the magic of GraceTown. The two write letters back and forth and Peter helps Landry to realize that she needs to make a chance and gives her the courage to finally speak up for what is right for her. She is able to finally believe in herself and realize that her dreams are worth it and she can't and won't settle for anything less that everything she is looking for. When not writing letters Peter is visiting the coffee shop and always enjoying his time with Landry. Can these two have a real life meet cute? This reminded me a lot of 'You've Got Mail'. They both find some much joy in their interactions, but also have feelings for their pen pal, but maybe with some luck and magic they can find happiness. I love these books and while you don't need to read all of the books it's fun to see characters and get an update from past books. This story is filled with warmth and finding a way to believe in yourself. Cindy Kirk always writes the most wonderful characters and there stories always touch my heart. Love this one and can't wait for the next one.
GraceTown is known for unexplained & magical happenings. This is the seventh installment of the GraceTown series and a very enjoyable story. “The Letter Box” can be read as a standalone but I would recommend the whole series as each story is unique and a pleasure to read.
Landry Fisher feels totally not seen and understood by her family and boyfriend Chad. She has aspirations to write mystery novels. Her family and boyfriend discourage her. They feel she is wasting the opportunity to find a steady nine to five job. She is writing her novel while working as a Barista at City Hall Coffee shop.
Vern Washborn who is Landry’s boss at the coffee shop brings in an old-fashioned Letter Box which is a beautiful antique. There is a story that goes along with this box. Caroline Charles lived in GraceTown from 1941 to 1946 as she designed the old city hall building which is where the City Hall Coffee shop is located. She falls in love and was engaged to a fighter pilot who served in WW II. His plane was tragically shot down in France. Caroline grieved the loss of her love. She began writing letters to her fiancé and put them in the Letter Box. So, the Letter box became a piece of GraceTown history. They say by putting a letter in the box it will lead you to your true love.
Peter Elliot is a historian who specializes in art and design history and is visiting at Collister College to research Caroline Charles. Peter visits the coffee shop and Landry feels a connection to him. Landry believes there is something better for her. Chad wants her to be the person that she can’t be. Is there something more for Landry and can she take a chance to chase something new? She decides to try out the Letter Box by writing a letter expressing her feelings and puts it in the box. Strange things happen in GraceTown and what happens will keep you reading and rooting for Landry.
We all need to have someone believe in us. A Kindred Spirit that cheers us on and how wonderful if in finding that, we also find our true love. Cindy Kirk is a favorite author of mine for small town romances filled with love, thought provoking emotions, whimsical happenings and HEA.
Landry fisher is satisfied with what’s she’s doing with life, she works in City Hall coffee shop that gives her the flexibility to work on her novel. Her parents and boyfriend Chad seem to want her forget about travelling and writing and get a proper job!
Her boss Vern brings in an old letter box and tells her about Caroline Charles an architect that lived in GraceTown during WW2 while designing City Hall and The old post office. This box stood outside the house she’d lived in and sent letters to her fiancé, even when George went missing she continued to write wonderful heartfelt letters, eventually she’d left GraceTown and went to France to find him. The legend says that if you post a letter in the box it will find your true love. While alone in the coffee shop Landry decided to write a letter so grabs a pale pink stationary set that had been left behind months ago and pours her heart out then signs it off A heart unheard and puts it through the slot onthe box. The following letter was gone from the box the next day.
Peter Elliott is a visiting professor teaching art and design history. Peter has a particular interest in Caroline Charles and is researching about her time in GraceTown. When collecting his mail from his cubby hole finds a mysterious pink envelope. What he reads calls out to him as he has experience in some of the things in the letter so decides to reply he writes a fantastic letter then signs off with Kindred Spirit.
This start a chain of letters between them that neither one knows who the other is. They just somehow that they’re writing to the opposite sex. When they eventually meet up it’s like they already know each other so well and quickly fall for the other.
Despite her detractors Landry ends up following her heart and meets Peter in France.
I highly recommend this book I couldn’t put it down
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I’ve read and devoured countless novels by Cindy Kirk—each one a gem—but this one is, hands down, is my new favorite. I was completely hooked from the first page and couldn’t put it down. It’s absolutely amazing. As someone who deeply believes in all things mystical and spiritual, this story hit every sweet spot for me. If you're anything like me, you're going to love it too. The Letter Box is the seventh book in the GraceTown series, but it can easily be enjoyed as a standalone. That said, I highly recommend diving into the earlier books—not only to get the full backstory on some wonderful secondary characters, but also because the series as a whole is such a joy to read. Landry Fisher has the degree, the dependable boyfriend, and the carefully planned future—but none of it feels right. Happiness continues to elude her. What does bring her joy is working at City Hall Coffee Company, a cozy café tucked in the heart of GraceTown. The job isn’t glamorous, but the flexible hours give her time to write, and time to dream—of travel, of something more. Landry makes a quiet act of rebellion: she slips a letter into the mysterious Letter Box, a local legend said to connect kindred spirits. She doesn’t expect a reply—until one day, she gets one.
Peter Elliott, a visiting professor at Collister College, is in town researching the life of Caroline Charles, a pioneering architect whose love story was tragically cut short during WWII. What happens when the pink letter Landry posted turns up in Peter's cubby hole at the college!! Read and find out.
I had an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and am reviewing it with an open mind and no influence.
This book is about making life choices for yourself or for the people in your life.
Landry works ar City Hall Coffee Company while she writes a novel and loves her job. The problem is, her boyfriend Chad and her family think her writing is just a hobby and it's time to grow up and get a real job. Her boss has a thing for relics and buys an antique letter box and puts it on display in the coffee shop. The letter box has a history of being used by the architect Caroline Charles who design the old post office and the city hall building where the coffee shop is located. The history of Caroline Charles was that she lost the man she loved during WWII when his plane was shot down. She wrote to him even after he was gone and went to France to look for him. Peter Elliott is currently teaching at the local college and comes into the coffee shop once a week. He has researched everything there is to know about Caroline Charles and knows everything about her life. He and Landry have many conversations about her life and she shows him the letter box and explains how if a person puts a letter in it, it leads your heart to wherever it needs to go. One day while contemplating her life choices, Landry writes a letter and puts it in the box, when she goes back and checks, it's gone! Where did it go? She checks again and there is a reply. What is going on and who is this person who's giving her the best advice of her life because of their own experiences? Read this amazing book to find the answers. Enjoy! I certainly did!
The Letter Box by Ms Kirk is the 7th book in the Grace Town series. Grace Town is a place where the unexplainable happens. It can be read as a standalone book but would recommend reading the others in the series to give backgrounds on other characters in the book.
The book is about Landry & Peter. Landry was born in Grace Town & despite having a college degree & a steady boyfriend, isn’t happy with her life. Peter is a visiting professor in town to study Caroline Charles, a renowned Architect from Grace Town back in the days of WWII.
Landry’s boss, the owner of the local coffee shop & local historian, brings in an old Letter Box that was left behind by Caroline Charles after she designed the Grace Town Post Office back in the day. This is the same letter box that she used to write letters to her beloved fiancé during the war. The letters were returned marked “MIA” but as Caroline never lost hope that her fiancé was alive, it was rumoured that placing a letter in the letter box would eventually lead to your one true love. One day after having had enough of fighting with er parents & boyfriend, Landry writes a letter & places it in the letterbox. The letter then ends up in Peter’s cubby at the university much to his bewilderment. Peter writes back hoping to find the mystery writer.
The Letter Box follows the letters back & forth between Peter & Landry, but will it lead to true love? One will need to read the book to find out.
I became truly immersed in the story & couldn’t put it down once I started. I have fallen in love with Grace Town & its characters & can’t wait to see where Ms Kirk goes next. A definite must read if you’re a hopeless romantic like me.
A magic mailbox? In GraceTown, it’s very probable! I wish I would’ve had a magic mailbox when I was a sophomore in high school, except it would work in reverse. The mailbox would know when you were sending a letter that shouldn’t go to its recipient and spit it back out at you or, at the very least, send it back to the return address (which is yours)! It didn’t happen for me, unfortunately but I learned a valuable lesson…don’t send a letter (with your picture in it!!) to a boy you like, but he doesn’t know you exist! In the Letter Box, the outcome is so much better than in my 10th grade experience. Landry Fisher has great dreams for herself, but her family and her boyfriend, Chad, thinks she’s being unrealistic. Succumb to what they want, and she’ll live happily ever after…and leave her own dreams behind. The letter box dates back to the time when the old GraceTown City Hall and Post Office were first built and is said to have “unexplainable” powers, like other landmarks around GraceTown. Landry decides to put it to the test. The letter box has been moved into the coffee shop where she works as a barista, so she has unlimited access to it. She writes an anonymous letter to the universe spelling out her hopes and dreams and puts it into the box. It disappears, but in its place is an answer to her letter. Whoa!!! Now what? I don’t want to provide any spoilers, so suffice it to say just pick up a copy of The Letter Box by Cindy Kirk and find out for yourself what happens! I promise you won’t be disappointed!!
We are back in Gracetown where magical things happen. Landry Fisher had always lived in Gracetown, but she longed for more. Landry’s dream was to be an author. She was working at the City Hall Coffee Company against her parents and boyfriend’s wishes. Landry needed to get an office job, have a regular schedule. Chad, Landry’s boyfriend, wanted to stay in Gracetown. He didn’t understand Landry wanting to visit the world. Landry’s boss bought a letter box that belonged to the architect that built the building the coffee shop was in. The story that came with the letter box drew Landry’s attention. She decided to try it out at a time when she was feeling frustrated. Landry’s a writer, so she put her thoughts on paper. She put the letter in the letter box. Putting a letter in the letter box will lead you to your true love. Maybe this letter box will help Landry deal with things.
When Landry looked in the box again, her letter was gone. Magic is definitely in the air. Landry later got a response that was exactly what she needed to hear when she needed to hear it. Landry didn’t know the how or why, but that no longer mattered. Whoever was writing her was giving her to confidence to follow her dreams despite consistent opposition. There is another component to this story. A visiting college professor, Peter Elliott, came into the coffee shop regularly. He and Landry talked often. Is something there? This magical story will have readers all in their feelings. Landry’s quandary is something that readers will understand. Will Landry follow her heart or continue to toe the line?
Cindy Kirk has done it again, she has written another amazing novel that you will devour and won’t want to put it down.
Set in GraceTown, a community known for unexplainable happenings. Primarily about the life of Landry Fisher, a young lady who has spent her entire life living and working in GraceTown. Landry has big dreams as an Author, to write and publish her own novel’s. She also has aspirations to travel, neither of which Landry’s current long term partner or her parents share or respect her dreams. Feeling thoroughly deflated and in limbo, Landry writes a letter from her heart, sharing her thoughts about her life, her dreams and aspirations. She posts the letter in a “magical” letter box, once owned by Caroline Charles. Caroline was a trailblazer who lived in GraceTown. She was the first female architect of her time. It was said that this letter box was magical, that it would lead a person!s heart to wherever it needed to go. Will the letterbox reveal itself to Landry? Will she find the answers she needs? You will have to read this book to find out. What can tell you is that I have read and devoured countless novel’s by Cindy Kirk, every one of them incredible, this novel however is my favourite so far, I couldn’t put it down. It is amazing. I love and believe in all things mystical and spiritual, this novel ticks every box for me. You will love it.
This is the 7th book in the Gracetown series. Gractown is a town where unexplainable things happen. Landry works in the town’s coffee shop and is dating Chad. Chad is a nice guy, but she is feeling the need for something more and someone who supports her dreams. She is currently working on writing a book, but Chad and her family don’t believe in what she is doing. Peter is a frequent visitor to the coffee shop. He is a visiting professor at the local college. She feels connected with him almost immediately. The shop owner purchases a letter box that once belonged to the woman who was the architect of the building they are in. The story is that this box is magical and that once you put a letter inside it makes its way to the person that you should be with.
Landry decides to give this a try. She writes a letter and gets a response. The letters back and forth give both her and the recipient a chance to connect. In the meantime she ends her relationship with Chad, shares her dreams in her letters and gets the support she needs as well as the confidence to follow her dreams. She gets the courage to ask if they can meet - she has an idea of who it on the other end, but isn’t sure. Who will be there when he accepts her offer?
I have received an advance reader copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
For decades, whispers have swirled around the old letter box. Some call it enchanted, claiming it brings kindred spirits together. Others laugh it off as a charming tale. Landry Fisher has never been one to chase fairy tales. But standing at a crossroads in her life, she’s willing to try anything. Desperation leads her to place a letter in the letter box. What she doesn’t realize is that when her words find their way to a kindred soul, her life will be forever changed. Will the magic of the letter box finally reveal its secrets? Or will Landry’s leap of faith leave her grasping for answers that may never come? I always get excited when I'm going to read a Cindy Kirk romance. After reading her stories, I usually feel happier and more hopeful than before. That is, until this book. Now, it's a wonderfully mysterious and romantic tale, but there's something missing. I felt that the relationship between Landry and her parents needed more of a resolution. They needed to own up to what they were doing to her and apologize. Because of the lack of closure, I felt the ending was a bit rushed. This review is my unbiased opinion.
The thing I love most about Cindy Kirk books is how easy it is to imagine yourself in the towns she creates. GraceTown is a small town that’s known for its “unexplainable happenings”. I can imagine walking around and seeing the antiques store, enjoying the River Walk, and feeling the sense of community from everyone I meet.
This is the newest book in a series. It is a stand alone, but I highly recommend reading them all in order so you can get the full feeling of the town. Each installments opens another magical pathway and introduces amazing characters.
The Letter Box is a story that revolves around an old letter box that is said to help connect people to their hearts desire. Landry is at a cross roads in her life. Does she explore the life she wants, or the continue on them path that’s expected of her? I felt such a connections to Landry throughout the story. It’s hard to go against what family and friends are saying what’s best, but do they always know what’s actually best for you?
I recommend this story for someone who’s looking for hope, loves the art of letter writing, and enjoys magical realism.
Landry is currently content to work as a Barista while working on her novel. Her parents felt her being a college graduate that she should be in career type job, and that she is living below her potential. Landry is at a crossword and is torn about her future. Landry's boss Vern brings into the shop one day a period piece letter box once owned years ago by the town female architect. On a whim Landry decides to write a letter about her hopes and dreams and places it into the letter box hoping for a reply having heard over the years Gracetown having inexplainable things happening. When she goes back the next day her letter is gone and she has a reply letter waiting in the mailbox. Landy is blown away by how it was possible but begin to believe in it as she feels the connection of the writer who encourages her about not giving up her dreams. We see how Landry begins to be torn with expectation of her parents and boyfriend Chad and her wanting more than what they want for her. Sweet epic story of one going after their dreams even when love ones are not happy for you and finding hope and love in the least expected person.
Landry Fisher works as a barista at the City Hall Coffee Company so she can have a flexible schedule and earn a decent wage while she is writing a book. Her parents and boyfriend never stop nagging her about her job. They do not understand and dismiss her dreams and aspirations. So much so, that when her boss installs a “magical” mailbox in the coffee shop, Landry writes an anonymous letter pouring out all her feelings. She puts it in the mailbox and waits a few days before checking to see if she got a reply. She is amazed to see a letter. Reading the reply, Landry feels seen and understood for the first time. Landry and her anonymous correspondent, Kindred Spirit, keep writing each other letters. In the meantime, Landry has met a visiting professor, Peter Elliott, when he comes into the coffee shop. They strike up a casual friendship. He understands her better than her parents and boyfriend. Will Landry be true to herself and follow her dreams? Will she stay with her boyfriend or will Kindred Spirit or Peter Elliott win her heart?
The journey for Landry and Peter was heart breaking and touching. Landry was right to finally stand up to her parents and how they were pushing her into a mold. They really weren’t listening to her. I am glad she found a kindred spirit to share her life with.
At the same time I was heart sick that Mila’s letters didn’t go anywhere and I have a feeling she, too, pored all that was in her heart that she didn’t share in person.
I like the updates on Emily and Sophie from when I was last in Gracetown. It is truly a magical place of love winning in the end despite challenges along the way.
What an inspiration Caroline had on those who studied her life and architecture but I wish we did know how her life continued on. Where she put her energy for the next stage of her life.
A Paris cafe is the best place to end this love story and I can imagine Landry and Peter strolling along the Champs-Elysées. I can’t wait for my next trip to Gracetown.
The Letterbox is book 7 in the GraceTown series. We meet Landry Fisher, working at the City Hall Coffee Company and dating the awful Chad. Landry wants more but her parents want her to get a proper job and marry Chad. We know GraceTown is full of magic and Landry decides to test this out by posting a letter into the Letterbox to see if her true love is out there. The letter disappears and she is left to wait.
Meanwhile she meets Philip, a visiting professor at the local college and the chemistry is instant. Is Peter her true love? Will they find each other? What happens when the pink letter Landry posted turns up in Peter's cubby hole at the college!!
This is a really delightful story. Landry is just lovely and deserves all the happiness and Peter is everything that Chad isn't. I could not put this down and it gave me such a warm feeling when I finished. A definite 5 stars from me.
I thought this was last book, but looks like more will be released. Each book is a beginning and a end.the storyline for the series is Grace town has a supernatural guidance (we kind of believe possible angels but no wings) each book has like a blessed object (or sometimes a person who is more than) that helps the main lost character find her way (so far it's the ladys) but there is a love interest in the journey sometimes they are in the know sometimes not.
A very interesting storyline, with a supernatural feel, but more realistic.I love small town love story's and also love supernatural, this series has both it's light on the supernatural so if that's really not your thing you might still like this it adds mystery that has not been revealed, it's a guessing but like the characters you think the same because of the clues it gives a other world feel but warm and sweet. Worth reading.
Landry is enjoying life, right? Well, maybe not everything. She isn't sure that she can go along with how her life is going, so decides to write a letter and put it in the antique letter box that is supposed to magically connect kindred spirits. When she looks to take the letter back, it has unexplainably disappeared. Peter, who is a visiting professor, finds a letter in his cubby that touches him as the writer is yearning for more yet bound by pressure from family. He starts writing back with encouragement to be true to yourself and so begins a relationship that is bound in mystery. At the same time, he is attracted to Landry who is in a relationship. It is a sweet story that has a mystical theme of kindred spirits finding each other when they are ready, having the courage to be true to yourself, and the faith to take the challenging leap to find happiness.
I felt sorry for Landry who had her family trying to control her life and Chad trying to mold her into another person. I was very happy to see Finley's determination to follow her dreams.
The magic of the letter box was such an enchanting concept. It made me wonder if the letter box was truly the catalyst that changed Landry's life or was it Peter?
I suspected that Peter and Landry were destined for each other, but the unexpected discovery of the magic of the letter box fast tracked their romantic connection far more quickly than I had anticipated. I wish there had been an epilogue. It would have been intriguing to see what happened with Peter and Landry further down the road.
It was a pleasure to revisit GraceTown. I have to wonder what other magical elements will be in store down the road?
This the 7th installment in the Grace Town series; however, you can read it as a stand alone. Landry has a college degree & a nice boyfriend. She works at a coffee shop with flexible hours to allow time for her writing. Her parents are pressuring her to settle down with marriage & a respectable career. Landry feels something is missing & dreams for more. She decides to write a letter & mail it in the magical letter box outside of the coffee shop.
Peter Elliott is a visiting professor at Collister College. While in town, he is researching the life of Caroline Charles, a Grace Town architect who lost her fiancé in WWII. One day, a mysterious envelope appears in his cubbyhole.
Will the letter box lead Landry to where her heart needs to go?
I received an ARC of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it for the author.
Another good read from the GraceTown series. The magic of GraceTown never disappoints! Landry's boss at the coffee shop, a GraceTown memorabilia buff, brings in an old letter box. Will this letter box have the magic to join kindred spirits or is this just another story? Landry realizes she is not in the right place with her boyfriend and parents. So, she writes an open letter, signs it An Unheard Heart and places it in the letter box. She gets a letter back and this "person" has heard her and signs the letter A Kindred Spirit. A wonderful story to read and find out about their meeting - did the letter box bring them together? I received this book as an ARC reader and have given my review freely.
This is another great story about GraceTown, the town where the unexplainable happens. Landry has been struggling with what she wants to do with her life and the expectations of those closest to her, her parents and her boyfriend. The battle to defend herself and explain the reasons she works at a coffee shop while striving to become an author is becoming tiring. The letter box is brought into the shop by the owner and on a whim she decides to write a letter. She had no idea how or if it would work but the unexplainable happened. Through these exchanged letters Landry is able to find the strength to stand up for herself and find true happiness. This is a must read! Such a great story and lovely happy ending!
The final book in the GraceTown series where out of the ordinary is normal. Landry sees an old Letter Box where she works and puts a letter into it. The letter describes what is going on in her life and all the things that she wants to do and discover in it. She is held back by her boyfriend, Chad, and her parents. Landry has bigger dreams and wants to explore them and her "Kindred Spirit" Peter helps her get the courage to break from the status quo and live life on her terms.
A great conclusion to the series with interesting characters, including the letter box itself. It was nice to see the history of the box and see how the past has helped Landry's future.
GraceTown is truly a place where magic and the unexpected exists. In this latest addition to the series, Ms. Kirk brings us a story of a young woman, Landry, pushing against the expectations others haver for her life, and finding her true self. In the process, she also finds what real love can feel like, through a whimsical and antique letter box, while staying true to her personal goals and ideals.
The Letter Box brings the lost art of paper and pen letter writing back into vogue. The pace of the story will keep the reader enthralled page after page and rooting for a happy ending for Landry and her mystery penpal.
Cindy Grace Town is an extraordinary literary series that captivates readers with its deeply emotional and compelling narrative. The characters are intricately developed, resonating profoundly with readers and evoking genuine empathy. Each character's journey is crafted with such nuance that readers become emotionally invested, eagerly anticipating the resolution of their personal struggles. The narrative builds anticipation for a heartwarming conclusion, where the protagonists' romantic and personal challenges are beautifully resolved, promising a satisfying and uplifting happy ending that leaves readers feeling deeply moved and fulfilled.
I love GraceTown and enjoy visiting there to see what magic the town is offering up now. I appreciate that it's different every time. In The Letter Box Landry, a lifetime GraceTown resident, decides to try leaving a letter in the antique letter box in the building where she works. Legend has it it could lead you to your true love. While she waits to see what might happen, Peter, a visiting professor at the college in town, finds a mysterious letter in his cubby and decides to answer it. I found the parallels of Peter and Landrys relationship very interesting. They are getting to know each other in real life while unknowing to each other, doing some soul sharing through the letters. It's a wonderful story of love making your dreams come true in ways you never expected.
GraceTown is a magical series in more ways than one. Landry likes her life, but her family and boyfriend consider her dreams unrealistic and want her to conform. An exchange of letters through a magical mailbox helps her to know she should follow her dreams and not someone else's plans. This is a sweet romance, and I liked Landry, her friend, and Peter. I do really dislike love triangles, so I had to get past that, but the message was good and as always, the setting and story was enjoyable.
