Would you take your own life to save the life of someone you loved?
Janelle, a freshman in college, is coping with life after the tragic death of her father in an automobile accident, under mysterious circumstances. Her grades are slipping, but she's offered an extra credit assignment to help get back on track. The assignment is to work as a volunteer for a suicide hotline. When she receives a call from a deranged man who knows everything about her, her family secrets are brought to light. She soon finds out that her father didn’t just die in a car wreck, but was murdered and now the killer is after her and her loved ones. With nowhere else to turn, Janelle reaches out to a detective, whom she met through one of her professors. Her story seems farfetched, but her fear genuine. Reluctantly, Detective Grainger finds himself in the middle of the case. He must first help prove her theory, and then catch the killer before he makes good on his threat. The task proves easier said than done when one mystery seems to lead to another and the bodies begin to pile up.
The killer's demands are simple, Janelle will either kill herself to balance the scales for the loved one he's lost, or he will continue to murder those closest to her until there is no one left.
Im a fan of Author Manning and to read a book that he wrote in another genre was refreshing. The way the story came together with the detailed style that only he could pull off made the story entertaining. I loved the gut wretching thrill of the ride as time seem to tick against the clock for these characters. I give recommend this book & if I could give it more stars I would because every book Manning drop, his writing growth gets better. 7 books later and it seems like he's been in the game.
When I saw K'wan presents on the cover and... it was being offered at no cost, I had to get this and was happily surprised by this exciting book by a new-to-me Author. From the gate the story took off and never really stopped. Janelle is a college student that basically has to pay for the sins of her father. This book was awesome and I will definitely be picking up part 2
I listened to the audiobook. I really enjoyed the storyline and the characters. It was kinda short but it was a good story. I didn't like the way they were doing Grainger but I enjoyed the ending. This was my 1st time trying this author. I'm gonna try his other book also.
Oh my this book was so good.... Had me on the edge of my seat. It’s a cliffhanger and suspenseful with many twists and turns. This book will leave your heart racing with anticipation for more. Outstanding work of art, I am a fan and will be reading the next installment to the Grainger series.
Wow! This was my first time ready from this Author but it won't be my last! This book had me on my toes from the beginning. The ending had me like What!!!! A must read!!!
This was a good book. I liked how the story flowed and the reader is left hanging until the very end as to how it turns out. I would recommend this book.
Would you take your own life to save the life of someone you loved?
A fast paced, heart racing adrenaline rush. This was my first read by this author, and I must admit it was very good. Janelle is a college student, who after years of coping with her father’s death, finds out his accident was no accident at all. While trying to retain extra credit for her slipping grades, she volunteers for a suicide hotline. Det. Grainger finds himself once again, in a no win situation. After a botched investigation, and subsequent suspension he’s out to prove that there is a killer on the loose. Will Det. Grainger save his career and solve the case? The storyline and plot moved along effortlessly and kept me turning pages. The author found his stride and held it. There were some minor errors, however nothing to throw the reader off. This young publishing company is standing up to their tag line. Writing outside the box. I look forward to reading more of their work.
This was my first book by Niles Manning and he has just been added to my list of must read authors. His storytelling skills are excellent. So much so until I read this and part two of the Grainger files back to back in one day. Mystery/Suspense/Crime drama all wrapped up into one. This guy is a master of suspense with twists and turns, that keep you from putting his book down. In my wildest dreams, I never saw this story taking the shape or form that it did. I was thoroughly immersed from cover to cover. Convince me to Live was an easy five star read with the catalyst being revenge or was it something else. Let me suggest you pick up your copy today and find out for yourself.
Convince me to live is one of those books that make you hate the movie. Although I'd be excited for the author to watch his work go Hollywood, I doubt they would do it any justice. This attention demanding page turner was exactly what I was seeking to find in written entertainment. Hats off to the author and although his actions were extreme, I actually caught a feeling or two for Dave. This is a must read!(it's not a movie but it reads better than one!)
This was my first book by Niles. I have to say I really enjoyed it. It a mystery book to me. The suspense in the book was good. There were a few parts that I questioned but overall it was a good read. I look forward to reading other books by Niles in the future. If you are looking for something good to read that's not just about the D-boy on the block I really suggest reading this one. When someone is out for revenge they will do anything. This book has the revenge element and its suspenseful.
Ok this is my first read from Niles Manning and it wasn't bad. If I'm not mistaken, Detective Grainger is in another one of his stories and that may be why I couldn't really connect with him in this story, I didn't know his backstory. Any who, all in all this was a very good book. My heart went out to Janelle cuz no one should have to endure as much drama as this young lady did. I week be checking out mute of thus author's work for sure
I just finished the Price of Heir series, and I wondered what author Niles Manning would come up with next. Convince Me to Live is an excellent psychological thriller. It's fast paced, and full of action. The storyline draws you in, and simply makes you want more. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, and look forward to reading the sequel
This was a great story. I will have to add this author to my list of must reads. I was kind of surprised by the ending I was expecting more. I wonder what happened to their mother? I would have given this book 5 stars but it had too many typos.
I thought the over all book was good. I like the way the book came together. It ended well. While reading the book I sometimes felt it was drawn out and taking to long to get to the point. I must say I am glad I read it because I like the way it ended.
Excellent page turner. Fast paced and well written. A great story of cat and mouse games. Looking forward to definitely reading more from cousin Niles.
Author Niles Manning had me gone in this book! I most definitely enjoyed this page turner! All I could say was WOW, Seriously ! The suspense is to die for ! Great read people ...#1ClickToday
I really enjoyed this book. Some parts make you want to jump in the book and shake someone but it was a very good story. I will read more from this author.
