But unexpected circumstances took that away from her. Now at a standstill in her life, this twenty-one year old finds her way back to reconnect with what she’s lost. But her summer of love, family and serenity soon leads to tragic loss, and even though good friends and taking up ownership of a popular business has her planting unintended roots, when a romance blossoms with the one guy she never saw coming, will fear of love and circumstance lead her astray, or will she find the courage to bloom like never before?

Review
This book isn't anything like I've read by Devon before. I've read and loved her Nearly series which really is the total opposite of this one. I really really loved this book! Was is sweet: yes, did it capture my attention: yes, did it break by heart: hell yes, did I cry: Like a baby, Did it have a happy ending: yes it does ;)

What is this book about?
This book is about Tessa. Tessa had a really unstable childhood. Her mother was a drunk that only kept her around for the money. She did have a great relationship with her grandmother but for some reason she didn't see her for years. ( you will find out what that reason is ). Anyway This book begins with Tessa being back with her grandmother for the summer. Her nanna has a flower shop and is the most amazing and sweetest person ever. I really loved her characters.
While being back with her nanna, Tessa reconnects with some of her old friends. Especially with Brody, a very hot guy she was friends with when she was like 6. Brady and his brother Owen didn't have it easy seeing they lost both their parents.
In this book we see love blossom, friendships being made an sadly tragedy that strikes yet again..... but hey it's part of life right?

What did I like about this book?
Well I loved pretty much everything. It was such an easy read. I read it in one sitting I just couldn't put it down. I had to know what was going to happen next.
It felt like such a real story. Like this could happen in real life. I just really loved it, I don't know what more to say.

I won this book from the Goodreads giveaway and this book loved by the expression "you think you know, but you have no idea" i was sure I had this pegged to a T. So you have been forewarned.

I loved the book until chapter 14.

Than I really wanted to hate it.....I hated it didn't follow what I expected. I hated how it broke my heart. I hated the pain the character endured. BUT it went back to a some happier times and it was great...until the author threw in one more stick into my spokes. Ugh. It was written very well. It hit too close to home for me, but I enjoyed it and still recommend anyone who wants a story that will tug on those heart strings. Grab the tissues.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. It was a sweet, light read, with the main character Tessa reconnecting with her grandmother and childhood friends while recovering from an unpleasant upbringing. The story was imbued with hope, despite the tragedy that Tessa had faced. I especially enjoyed the blossoming romance between Tessa and Brady. I felt like I really got to know him.

Tessa had no plans to remain in Campbellsville past the end of summer, but she'd reconciled all that she'd lost, enabling her to move forward before she returns to college. Brady leaves her a sweet note asking her to stay. Tessa must choose between the future that she'd planned and the new future that she could have.

I breezed through the book up until this point. I felt pretty satisfied with Tessa's character arc, though I still didn't feel as if I knew her very well. It didn't bother me too much, though, because I really liked the other characters.

Then tragedy strikes, and everything that Tessa had hoped for is destroyed in just a matter of minutes. It was here that the story stopped working for me.

Mainly, there were two elements that I felt really detracted from the story: 1) the heavy reliance on loss to move things forward and 2) the glossing over of these losses. If the entire second half of the book had been about how Tessa recovers and moves on, Twist Into Me would have immediately become one of my favorites. Instead, I felt like the story was rushed and the pivotal plot point halfway through was used as an excuse to throw two characters with hardly any chemistry together. I just did not buy the second romance—especially when their first real kiss was described as making Tessa nauseous. I think the intent was for the reader to feel Tessa's inner conflict, but for me it just wasn't believable.

I didn't feel like I got to know her second love interest very well at all. He's hardly mentioned in the first half of the book, and the only part of him that I saw in the second half was grieving man and sometimes helpful hero. Because the first half of the novel was so strong, though, I was willing to continue and give Tessa and guy #2 a chance.

Then Tessa's past literally walks into town and she's forced to face it. It seemed that there would be some kind of reconciliation there, but there never is. I felt like this element of the story was just thrown in to give Tessa (more of) a hard time.

Finally, Tessa is walloped with yet another painful loss. How does she overcome this? We never find out, because the book ends there. There's an epilogue that skips two years ahead and this major death is basically glossed over. The epilogue is used to tie up some loose ends, and that's that. This completely ruined it for me. The last few chapters of a book are supposed to serve as the wind-down, completing the plot and the main character's arc. An epilogue serves as an additional conclusion. I felt like Twist Into Me was missing at least one more chapter between the major loss and the epilogue. It all just ended so abruptly.

The writing itself was pretty good. I especially enjoyed the interactions between Tessa's group of friends. I really loved the bar they all hung out in. Most of the characters felt very real to me (with the exception of love interest #2). I loved that it was set in a flower shop in a small town. The author definitely seemed to know her stuff about floral design.

Twist Into Me definitely started off with promise, but the second half simply felt rushed.

I'd like to start this review by thanking both the author and the Goodreads New Adult Book Club Read It Review It programme for allowing me to read this fantastic well written and in places heart breaking page turner of a book.

This book is about a young woman called Tessa who has found out that her alcoholic mother lied to her throughout her teenage years about her Nanna Louise being dead and has in fact reconnected with her as well. The summer of love that she plans on having while with her Nanna goes from happiness to tragedy and back to happiness again.

The writing style, plot and character development in this book made it a joy to read as the characters were so well developed I felt connected to all the main characters on many different levels. Tessa was a fantastic character who I really felt for because she had been through so many awful experiences already and so she found it hard to love and trust people. While Owen and Brady were tall, gorgeous, kind, loving and hard working people who had lost both their parents, and Owen was stuck in a relationship he didn't want to be in so he had someone other than his brother and friends in his life.

I gave this a five star rating because I will without doubt re read this again in the future as well as recommend it to others or buy it as present for anyone I know who I think will enjoy it.

I received this book in return for my honest review.

This was a lovely sweet read, and for the most part I enjoyed it. It made my smile and cry in equal measure. Tessa: young girl who's father was awol and had a mother who was constantly drunk and moving them around. When her mother lied to her and dragged her away from her only stable relative she could have easily chosen the darker path. Instead Tessa worked hard and built a life up for herself and cut her mother out of her life.

After realising her mother had lied Tessa returned to her old home town and reacquaints herself with her Nana and friends and Brady.

I liked Brady and Tessa's relationship. They appeared well matched and I connected with their story. However, I was gutted when fate intervened and needed their budding love. The latter part of the story was predictable, but I just didn't 'get' Owen and Tessa the same. The story seemed rushed and I thought maybe more time could have been given to them reconnecting and adjusting to life without Brady, but this is the on,y niggle I had.

All in all a good book and I will read more from this author. Thank you

I was given the opportunity to read an electronic copy of Twist Into Me via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Tessa Wilkerson was taken away from her Nana Louise and the charming Kentucky town that was home. Eight years later, at the age of 21, Tessa has found her way back. Nana's flower shop seems the same, which appeals to Tessa after the nomadic life that she lived with her mother. Her childhood friends have all grown up, which leads to possibilities of a future that Tessa did not anticipate.

Twist Into Me is a romance with realistic undertones. The book was good, but I thought that the ending wrapped up too neatly. The relationship between Tessa and her Nana was clearly expressed, but the ones between Tessa and the brothers felt like they were put there for plot. The author did not take Tessa's character far enough, as she certainly had enough history to have more depth. There was just not that essential spark between the characters to set this book apart from others in this category. Twist Into Me did flow well and will appeal to readers who enjoy the romance genre.

I was given this ebook in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book and would really rate at three and a half but as that's not an option and three isn't enough I've given it a four. This was a sweet read with a lot of emotional situations that made you feel for the main characters.

Tessa returns to the only home she has ever known after eight years of no contact with her grandmother. Circumstances between Tessa's grandmother and mother meant that she was cut off from her grandmother and she was elated to finally have the chance to spend time with her again. Returning home also meant that she was given the chance to catch up with long lost friends who she missed more than she realised. Within this group of friends is the chance of finding love but things are far from easy and Tessa has to deal with grief, her mother and decisions of her future.

This was a book that flowed well and a believable pace. The supporting cast of characters were great and I probably wouldn't have minded more about them too. Definitely a book worth spending time to read.

I have read and loved Devon Ashley's Nearly series. Twist Into Me was completely different than that. This was a sweet story with some sad twists. I was in tears crying my heart out while reading this book, but I really enjoyed it.

Tessa had a tough childhood. She never met her dad and her mom is a neglecting alcoholic. When she comes to spend a summer with her grandmother, her life takes an unexpected turn in the form of two brothers Brady and Owen. She had spend lots of her summers playing with Owen when she was a little girl. They had been best of friends, but the more time she spends with Brady she starts to fall in love with him. When a sudden accident occurs, her happily ever after is ripped away from her. She find solace in Owen's arms as they both help each other overcome the hard times. A full 5 stars!

I received this ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

This book just wasn't really for me. The two romance in it was awkward and kind of icky. Tessa actually has two romances in this story. The first one felt rushed and more of sex-buddy type relationship. They called each other boyfriend and girl but it was fast and without any foundation. Then the tragedy mentioned in the synopsis happened, like halfway through the book. So the last half was spent on this second guy. I would have rather it started after the tragedy and just focused on the second relationship. Or become two separate fully developed books rather than two stories shoved together and incomplete. If you're looking for some great sex-scenes read this book. If you're looking for a sweet romance, I'd pass.

I wouldn't say that I loved this book but it was good. There's not a lot that can be said without giving away too much but I will say that there is more death in this book then any other romance I've ever read. It didn't bother me too much, I read a few reviews before starting it but it wasn't as bad as some made it sound. The only thing that bothered me was the final chapter gave us a small glimpse at their future but didn't wrap everything up. I don't always need it in a pretty little bow but this book just left a few things hanging, I prefer closure even if it's not necessarily what I had hoped for. Overall, a pretty good read.

****received as a gift for a honest review****

What an emotional, heartbreaking, and loving tale. There was a lot of love ones lost in this story. An unstable mother and Tessa being dragged from her Nana.
Tessa gets back to her Nana and starts up all her old friendships. Sarah, Brady, and Owen are great friends.
I don't want to spoil the story but I did tear up a few times. It was wonderfully written. To see how they go through so much and finally come out the outside stronger.

When I started reading this book I thought that it had potential, a really sweet budding romance but then something happened and it not only became predictable but rushed too and in the end I struggled to finish it. An ok story but could have been so much better

I was also gifted this book for a review. Not a book to fly through with little to no thoughts running through your head. Between the tragic childhood to the catastrophic deaths this book makes you evaluate what you hold near and dear to your heart and makes you get a death grin on your family,
