Once upon a time, in a magic kingdom, there lived a handsome prince. Prince Charming, he was called by one and all. And to this land came a gentle princess. You could say she was Cinderella.
Magic kingdom? Okay, if you're going to be a stickler for accuracy, in this fairy tale the kingdom is Manhattan. But there's magic in the Big Apple, isn't there?
Prince Charming? Oh, boy! You've heard the rumors, I suppose. So, he's Prince-Not-So-Charming on occasion. So he drives an orange pick-up truck, not a pumpkin coach. Big deal! He is handsome.
A gentle princess? Picky, picky, picky! Who says a woman has to be soft and fluffy all the time? Haven't you ever heard of a royal case of PMS?
Cinderella? Well, maybe she does wear blue suede shoes instead of glass slippers, but she's looking for happily-ever after just the same. And I'm going to make sure she gets her prince and her castle, not some hound dog and the Heartbreak Hotel.
Sandra Hill is a graduate of Penn State and worked for more than 10 years as a features writer and education editor for publications in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Writing about serious issues taught her the merits of seeking the lighter side of even the darkest stories. She is the wife of a stockbroker and the mother of four sons.

A retelling of Cinderella with many twists and turns. This book is ridiculous in the best way possible. The story is fast paced and an easy read all the while being entertaining.
Each character had flaws and redeeming qualities in ways that made it unbelievable but in an enticing, absurd way that made me want to keep reading. From the ends of Wall Street to CEO’s to princes and kidnapping to a run in with the mafia and magic fairy godfathers this book and so many different aspects that were just so ridiculous and I enjoyed it.
Lots of giggles ! This book was so cheesy and dated but extremely fun to read on a cold Sunday afternoon. There was an attempt to update the original 90's version with references to Kate Middleton and a few other people, then someone (the author ? the editor?) obviously was not really paying attention when they did this, because they mentioned Elvis had only been gone for 21 years - LOL. I probably would have preferred to read it in its original form, but never mind. Well written of course and lots of steam - I especially liked Peter...
A story of a modern day prince, by way of Hoboken, who has an upstart shoe company who is about to be a sued by a Cinderella stockbroker shark named Cynthia. Thrown in an Elvis impersonator named Elmer Presley, a couple of stepsisters who really aren:t so wicked, and the shoe company about to become a public commodity.
I didn't find out that this book was 16 years old until the copyright that was on the very last page. I couldn't figure out why I didn't like this book when I like most of Ms Hill's others. But it was the fact that this was a book that I don't think was meant to be re-released. The subject matter seems wrong somehow.
Ms. Hills writing style may not have changed a whole heck of a lot since this book came out, but our everyday lives have. This book was written at a different time for women, and really didn't translate all that well to more modern women.
A reader looking to take a trip own memory lane via romance, may really love this book.
I found it too formulaic and a bit annoying - annoying characters and annoying plot. Plus, after knowing that this is not a fresh and new book, makes the price a little ridiculous.
This book was horrible, I liked the premise and couldn't wait to read it, hated it so much! Stupid writing style! I'm afraid to read any more of her books!
